In an almost canon universe where the only difference is that it is omegaverse, Pat is an omega, and Pran is an alpha. And during one of his heats, Pat is at home, and decides to ask Pran for a shirt with his scent to help with his heat. But instead, he asks Pran for help in other ways. Fic where the porn IS the plot, everything is super consensual, and sexy and hot. Alternating POV, so on Pran’s pov we get to see all the pining.

February - 

If Never Again, If Every Day by gallifreyburning and takiki16 (The Old Guard)

This fic was wonderful from beginning to end. For reasons, 2021 Nicky goes back in time to Jerusalem and his first death at Yusuf's hands. Meanwhile, 1099 Nicolò goes forward in time to 2021 and meets Joe. It's heartbreaking and loving and funny and so full of love. Nicky and Joe miss each other even when around their younger versions. But the love they feel for each other is stronger than that. Wonderful story, happy ending.

March - 

Wooing the Water Tribe by lenaballena (ATLA) @dameferre

Sokka has been living in the Fire Nation as Zuko's second in power and his best friend and everything. When Katara comes to visit, Sokka thinks Zuku is courting her. And he realizes he is also in love with his best friend. Lots of pining. There's absolutely no courting of Katara. It's also really funny. My heart broke for Sokka at some moments.

April - 

The Grand Unified Theory of Shen Qingqiu by 00janeblonde (SVSSS)

WIP - This story is all fluff and no angst, like the tags say, slice of life and it's wonderful. SQQ dies at Maigu Ridge, and is offered to acquire the Game Plus, where he can go back to the past with his cultivation and memory intact, and try again. Doing that he discovers that he is actually the real Shen Jiu reincarnated, and he can try to recover memory markers to be able to restart the "game" even before than when he first "transmigrated". His friendship with YQY becomes strong, LQG also becomes his friend (it's really sweet how he wants his friends back). Everything is very soft. Absolutely great teacher SQQ.

May - 

but for me, there is a storm by Authoress (Haikyuu!!) by @kiribakus

An epic pacific rim au. Hinata and Kageyama are both cadets who want to be Jaeger pilots, but they cannot get along. So they work really hard because they are their last hope to pilot a one of a kind Jaeger - a Kaiju/Machine hybrid. They solve their problems in the beginning (and then later they have more problems). Hinata and Kageyama are not the only main characters, other characters are also very important and have their own storyline and pov. This story is heartbreaking as well. There's MCD, and it made me cry so hard I got puffy eyes. It's a wonderful read, and very well written.

June - 

The UA Analyst Kid by RogueVector (BNHA)

Izuku meets the UA teachers before getting OFA and they see how good his analysis is, so they start to train him (together with some other heroes). But some things don't change and Izuku still meets All Might and gets offered OFA. This story is funny, sweet and with amazing relationships. Izuku is OP with his intelligence and training. All the teachers and heroes are so supportive and good. A really feel good story.

July - 

Deku? I think he’s some pro… by Clouds (BNHA)

After All Might told Izuku he can't be a hero, he finds himself in a forum used by some underground heroes and offers his analysis to them, since he can't be a hero, he will help them. The underground heroes think Izuku is some kind of retired pro when they ask for help analyzing some villains and all, and when they finally meet face-to-face they all decide to practically adopt Izuku and teach him to fight so he will have a chance to be a quirkless hero. It is amazing! Also, the relationship between Izuku and the underground heroes is more like friends than teacher-student, and it's amazing that way. (some All Might bashing - be warned)

August - 

Mobius by Foxquills (BNHA) @fox-quills

WIP - I love this story so much!!! Third-year Izuku is sent to the past because of a quirk accident, to the time both Shouta and Hizashi are third year students at UA. Problem is, according to Nedzu, time is constant, or a loop, so he can’t change anything in the past, and everything that has happened, will happen again. He becomes fast friends with both Shouta and Hizashi, and starts crushing on them as well. Both Hizashi and Shouta also start crushing on him. It is lovely. There’s pain. It’s awesome. (also omegaverse).

September - 

Factory Settings by Anonymous (Good Omens)

Post season 2 au, because Crowley follows Aziraphale to heaven. Things happen, and instead of Crowley, there is Raphael, without any memory of all the time he's lived as Crowley. Heaven and Hell are at it again. Aziraphale has no idea what to do, and he misses his Crowley. Muriel is a sweetheart. Both Aziraphale and Crowley/Raphael povs. Great story, feels very much canon.

October - 

Justice in Defiance by Foxquills (BNHA) @fox-quills

WIP - Aizawa is a hero turned villain who kills both heroes and villains alike. And one day Izuku finds him right after he kills someone. They fight. And now Izuku needs to know more. What made Aizawa turn????? To do that, he will also need Hizashi in his corner. Absolutely lovely story!!!! The povs are amazing. The feelings and pining are perfect.

November - 

If I Must Starve (Let it be in Your Arms) by Igneum807 (The Witcher)

So think about the softest story involving Jaskier and touch-starved witchers, and this is the result. During his travels alone, when he and Geralt go their different ways for a few weeks, Jaskier meets Geralt's brothers, who are just as touch and companionship-starved as Geralt was before meeting Jaskier. It's super soft and tender.

December - 

Cultivate: Slow Life on a Monster-Infested Mountain by NeonGhostCat (SVSSS) @neonghostcat

When SY transmigrates, the System tries to put him on SQQ's body, but SQQ is aware and is able to stop it from happening. The System then gives SY his own body, but something goes wrong with the system and SY is decided to not get involved with the plot, or with Cang Qiong Sect, and specially SQQ. He finds an abandoned mountain, with an abandoned house there and decides to stay there until he is strong enough if SQQ finds him and wants to kill him. Obviously things cannot be that simple. Now he is stuck on the mountain he can't get out of, every full moon night there are monster attacks and one day LQG appears on the Mountain, how can he get out of helping with the plot now? Shen Yuan is absolutely perfect on this fic. I love how he deals with the mountain and its beasts and plant-life. Liushen is the softest you'll see. Slow burn, super domestic, feel good story.

This one took me a while lol, but I have been collecting my series for over 20 years now so I guess that's understandable.

The Godzilla series has a myriad of unique kaiju,and in the 1970's Toho released a series of audio dramas on vinyl called Our Monster Unit (われら怪獣部隊) that added some more! According to MyKaiju.com, the story follows a young psychic boy named Tadashi and his adventures with aliens from Planet Alpha and Godzilla! Each episode they fought a new kaiju. They were:

Nahmon (or is it Naamon): An underground kaiju that generates earthquakes. His episode is the only one I've been able to find (via MyKaiju.com linked above, though it is in Japanese with no translation).

Underwater Monster Balwalar: The green fellow with saber teeth. I was not able to find a more complete picture of him (the rest of the monster's head folds out from the vinyl jacket, but it seems no one has thought to do that for pictures...)

Galaxy Monster Killerstar (or is it Kirastar? Maser Patrol and Wikizilla have different translations) A space monster that looks like a cross between a frilled lizard and a gecko with antenna. Appears in the final episode. You can see how the cover flips out to show off more of the kaiju.

I hope these audio dramas get translated and released. It would be a shame for these stories to go unnoticed by the wider fandom.

Kaiju Week in Review (March 5-11, 2023)

The post-Godzilla Godzilla Rivals issues continue to impress. Mothra vs. Titanosaurus is light on Mothra actually battling Titanosaurus, but the egg-saving efforts of its clearly-in-love scientists are so absorbing that you should take that as only a mild complaint. I also loved its explanation of how kaiju come into conflict; more interesting and more grounded in reality than, say, the MonsterVerse's alpha obsession.

Here's the first episode of Godzilla Island with Toho-approved subtitles, with another one already on the channel. At the current pace, they'll finish in 2025. All those official English names... Wikizilla's gonna be busy. The rest of you, enjoy the Bandai toys being waved around.

Godzilla the Ride: Giant Monsters Ultimate Battle was evidently enough of a hit at the Seibuen amusement park that they brought back Takashi Yamazaki (who, yes, is still directing the next Toho Godzilla film) for Ultraman the Ride. It looks to be based on the original show rather than Shin Ultraman, keeping with the park's Showa trappings. It's scheduled to open in the early summer.

I thought 2021's The Great Yokai War: Guardians was a pretty lackluster effort by Kadokawa to revive one of the marquee tokusatsu series they inherited. That they brought back Daimajin in the same film, only to barely let him do anything, made it all the worse. Film festivals aside, it still hasn't been released in the U.S. yet, even by Arrow Video, who brought all the old Yokai Monsters films to Blu-ray the same year. Nonetheless, Titan Manga is publishing the first of three volumes of the Guardians manga adaptation here on September 5. (They're part of the same company responsible for all the MonsterVerse novelizations and a couple of the art books.) Here's hoping it's more exciting than the film.

Ooooh this isn't stupid or uncomfortable at all, Nonny! 👀 In fact, you've given me information that I hadn't found on my initial searching for ideas! (I still need to rewatch the Godzilla movies, but I'll get to that. Right now, I'm focused on the monster vibes versus the human/researcher vibes~!)

You are right in that it's called the ORCA in the series, by the way! :D

Now, as for the Kaiju!AU...

I'd have to say yes, there were attempts to create a system that would mimic the sounds made by kaiju to try and communicate with them. Tests were relatively unsuccessful in the earlier days (which led to another incident where Crystalflayer got offended and impaled the facility with giant crystals--no one was killed, but more than one person needed a change of clothes afterwards!), so the researchers went through a lot of trial and error to try and find the right combination.

Eventually, they did accomplish this by observing the reactions of the kaiju to recordings of their alphas (though these "songs" didn't work on Nevermore and the other ancients). The first test involved replicating Ragebloom's calls to his pack mates on Slyfang and Bruiser, which resulted in the two of them falling in line. An unusual reaction, but promising for research potential!

...of course, just like the ORCA in the Godzilla series, it wouldn't be long before someone decides to use it for their own selfish desires.

As of now (translation: until I figure out how to incorporate this into the plot/lore and what to name this thing), no one knows what happened to this device or if it's even still functioning. All that is known is that using it unleashed unspeakable horrors slumbering under the island...and they will stop at nothing until all have been consumed by the inky darkness within.

So in terms of the next Dragon Age and some cool things I would love to see, I've decided I'm going to split this ask into different posts with this post talking about storylines/quests.

Disclaimers before I start this little series:

SPOILERS FOR GAMES AND EXPANDED MEDIA

These ideas are simply things I think would be really cool to see in Dreadwolf but I understand that as a business and developer, Bioware has a budget, limited resources, time constraints/deadlines (which they're already in Alpha so they can't really make huge changes to the game at this point) and demands from leadership. With this understanding, I'm not going to be angry at Bioware if all of these ideas aren't implemented. At this point, I'm just really interested to see what they come up with and how it adds to (and/or takes away from) the overall series.

The formatting of this series may not be totally structured as I tried really hard to put everything down in a concise manner but couldn't always decide how far I should go with these ideas lol.

With that all said, let me get into it.

Story Direction/Focus

Contrary to Origins and Inquisition where you focused on gathering an army to face off against a powerful being with its own army and given that Solas has the forces to infiltrate a larger organization set against him, I think the direction of the next game should be about finding a few select individuals/items that can pose a genuine threat to his plans and being proactive in that act (unlike most of Inquisition where it was about getting and stopping [insert thing] before Corypheus got to it). For example, I would love for Feynriel from DA2 to make a return as a valuable (non-playable) ally (maybe as the dreamer who can protect us from Solas/The Dreadwolf from the Fade). Also, I would love to see Morrigan and, if existing, Kieran return, maybe with Morrigan's own motives being to find her "inheritance" (Mythal essence or whatever was placed in the Eluvian at the end of Inquisition) to be a match for Solas in terms of raw power.

Tbh, I don't need the game to amount to 100+ hours of gameplay, I rather have quality over quantity (essentially more story, characterization, fun and meaningful gameplay choices and options over filler quests) and besides I think with the Player Character Origins (which I'll tackle next) will help with exciting replayability.

I originally got the idea from @benevolenterrancy, thank you again for giving me this new obsession lmao.

I have so many ideas for the au in general, and my little story line especially.

I’m a CharlesHawk truther, so my story really revolves around them and their relationship, Bj and Trapper do exist in my storyline, but mainly in the background.

Trapper, I have unfortunately demoted to ✨ Element that drives the plot ✨. I’ve thought more on what I wanted the accident to be between him and hawk. Like there was the question of, oh well, does hawk visit him? No. Why? Guilt. Why is he guilty? That sort of thing.

So the accident, in more detail. Trapper and Hawkeye were deployed to deal with a large category 2, maybe a category 3. The Kaijus nickname right now is Sabermane, but I may change that in the future. Anyway, they’re deployed to deal with the Kaiju and through a series of mistakes, due to Hawkeye's pride and cockiness, they start losing the fight. The Kaiju gets the upper hand and throws Surgeon Resilient back (their jaeger is only a Mark 1, its pretty durable but it’s not as heavy as Cherno Alpha, the Russian jaeger from the movies) because of their jaeger being older there were a few key flaws in the design of the conn-pod. That being that the supports for the pilots can’t take sudden jolts and will release and drop the pilots.

So guess what happens! Hawkeye gets dropped and passes out. My favorite plot device. Leaving trapper to pilot alone, which as you know, people can not do. So later, hawkeye wakes up to a bunch of doctors and a bunch of press. He's confused and pretty out of it all still. hes not that hurt, but he's left a little scarred (i put a few scars on his face in one of my previous posts.)

Hawk is debriefed and finds out that he's been out for about a week. Surgeon Resilient was almost completely destroyed and both of them would have died if it wasn't for the quick actions of trapper. Trapper had piloted the jaeger alone for just long enough to get them a reasonable distance away from the kaiju to eject them both from the conn-pod. But it wasn't without its consequences, shortly after the military recovered trapper and hawk, trapper fell into a coma after all the adrenaline from the battle wore off.

Hawk after some rest was taken to see Trapper and the doctors/military explained that Trapper wouldn't be able to drive again as the Drift would be enough to kill him. Hawk immediately feels overwhelming guilt over this. Feeling that it was his fault that trapper ended up this way.

trapper does end up waking up later in the story and that's a whole angst arc for hawkeye to go through. (and Charles being there and being supportive) But yeah, after all that he goes back to being a civilian for a few years until he's called back for the trial runs for the new jaegers, sense the military wants experienced pilots to run them for the greatest chance at success. Anyway. BJ is also in the story but they meet later on. BJ and Peg are pilots but they were first deployed together after hawk retired, so they didn't really get to meet or know him until recently. I've given a little more personality to Peg, I want her to be a bit snarky and blunt. She knows her limits and strengths and tends to be the smarter out of the two.

Peg is respectful of Hawkeye, but I feel like if she found out why he retired from the service she would be a little more critical of him.

also, I realized I never really explained why Charles was so eager to jump into a jaeger to prove he was right. Charles does have drop experience from simulations. He works with Jaegers so, I would assume he had some.

Charles knows how jaegers work intricately so while Hawkeye handles the physical fighting bit, Charles handles the tactical fighting bit.

Also Ofc my storyline is an enemies-to-lovers sort of situation cause it's one of my favorite tropes. Especially when it comes to Pacific rim and drifting. Going from, I want nothing to do with you too We're so in sync we fight perfectly together,,, THE VIBES BRO.

also, I've come up with a name for my little story, I'm gonna call it Worn Metal. Idk if it's a little Cheesy but yeah, because the new Jaeger is made from bits of the old one and Hawkeye was a pilot before I thought it was fitting. I want it to be a little more on the ship side so I might change it in the future but oh well. i also may make posts about like little things within my story so yeah. godzilla: kingdom of monsters #1-12 (2011-12)

due to me being super into a) kaiju movies & b) comics, it was pretty clear to me that i was gonna need to catch up on idw's godzilla stuff, so i decided to finally kick that into gear. i know most of their output has been (as is fairly typical for idw) in the form of largely self-contained miniseries, but the amount that they've put out so far seemed fairly manageable, so rather than jumping onboard in the middle somewhere, i decided to start from the beginning with kingdom of monsters.

i... kind of wish i hadn't, tbh.

social commentary has been an aspect of the godzilla series since its inception, but i can't say that a single one of its film versions (even the infamous 1998 roland emmerich blunder) has ever handled this aspect of the franchise's identity worse than these comics.

before i even get into what these comics' idea of biting social commentary is, you know how basically every version of godzilla before or since has grappled in some way, shape, or form with the horrors of nuclear warfare? yeah, the way this comic handles it is by having japan literally try to nuke godzilla? and it acts as though they just have nukes, y'know, lying around. as if they were not only not a nuclear-armed country, but a country that is fiercely opposed to the notion of nuclear weapons? so that's... something!

as the comic goes on, it becomes increasingly america-centric, which... yeah, it's not really shocking. and as we've seen in the legendary pictures movies, there's really no reason you can't do that and still have it feel an awful lot like a godzilla story? but that's... not what's happening here. at all.

so, there is basically one human character who has a consistent speaking role in the story, and that's this sneering soldier guy who spends his whole first issue just loudly rolling his eyes about how "lazy & entitled" everyone else in his generation is. he's just a fucking boomer trapped in a millennial's body. sigh.

don't worry, though! he gets plenty of character development! he goes from sneering with contempt at pop culture to sneering with contempt at how desperate people get when supplies start dwindling. see! character development!

the other human characters with more than occasional lines of dialogue are just... extremely clever & subtle caricatures of celebrities & public figures. like, i'm sure a lot of readers had to exert some real effort to figure out who "girly yaya" and the cast of "jerseyified" could possibly be referring to. it's just so subtle & clever!

also, both of the aforementioned characters are killed off, the former with a crass (and very contrived) pun to make light of it, and the latter in one of those ridiculous prepper fantasies about coddled leftists needing a big, strong gun-toting alpha male to save them but him turning his back on them because of all the "disrespect" he's been subjected to. fucking OOF.

the only things i liked about these comics were the occasional gorgeous full-page spreads of kaiju fights. like, the art & layout of a lot of these pages is genuinely pretty fucking fantastic, but there's comparatively so little of it, and so little personality shown by the kaiju themselves, that it just doesn't come close to making up for how genuinely unpleasant the vast majority of the comic is to read.

What I've been Consuming - 01/31/24

Welcome back to a new year of What I’ve Been Consuming! Now, slide out of those DMs and into your comfiest Snuggie and drown in the soft glow of your picture box.

MOVIES:

Rebel Moon Pt.1 - You know when you meet a really attractive person and you get a date with them and then they start talking, like really talking and then you find out they’re completely empty inside. This movie is like that. Zack Snyder can make a beautiful movie, but it just has no heart. There’s some cool stuff here, but it just doesn’t have anything that really makes me feel hopeful for the characters. Snyder needs a writing partner that can flesh out all the parts he just races by. This is a perfect background movie, which is not a good thing.

Godzilla Minus One - Whooo baby is this some fantastic giant kaiju moviemaking. This movie can feel a bit slow, but it all pays off in the end. This movie perfectly mixes modern effects, while still nodding to Godzilla’s original look and feel. Watch how he moves, it’s a bit clunky like the original rubber suit, it’s intentional and it works. The characters all give great performances and the time we spend with them makes their stories all the more compelling. There are some truly beautiful shots of destruction here and when Godzilla shows up he is just awe inspiring. See this however you can, and on the biggest screen you can.

Skinamarink - Super weird and creepy and filled with slow mounting dread. This is no ordinary horror movie or even an ordinary movie. Two children awaken in their home that has no doors or windows and their parents seem to be missing. It’s filmed in a sort of lost footage style with very little dialogue. This feels like an art house film and takes some endurance to get through it. Is it worth it? I’m not sure, but it stuck with me for days after viewing it. As I said earlier, this is no ordinary movie. If you decide to watch it, turn out all the lights and let yourself get lost in this creepy world.

TV: 

Scavenger’s Reign - Boy oh boy is this fantastic! The planet! The people! The weirdness! I know that’s a lot of exclamation points, but it’s all true. This is just so out there and so full of magical wonder. I feel like a bunch of amazing people got in a room and just said, “what if the planet did this…” over and over again. The planet is the main character here and it is relentlessly surprising. Watch it and then rewatch it again. Available on HBO Max.

Blue Eyed Samurai - All action with a great story and some great voice acting. Oh, and the animation is absolutely top notch. This is so great you might want to binge it, but I implore you to slow down and savor it. It’s worth it. I really can’t say enough good things about this series so I’ll just stop talking. Available on Netflix.

MUSIC:

Olivia Rodrigo - Guts - I love this album and I don’t care who knows! It’s full of glorious tunes that bring back all the good high school feels. Even the sad feels are welcome here as sometimes it’s fun to remember all the things that seemed so serious back then, but really weren’t that bad. Just put this album on and enjoy!

COMICS:

Omac - Story and art by John Byrne - I spend a lot of time digging around used bookstores to see what the mom’s of comic collectors have dumped there. I come across a lot of crap, but I also stumble across some hidden gems. I’m not a super big DC fan and Omac is not a character I’m too familiar with, but I love me some John Byrne. When I found all four parts of this 1991 series together I snapped it up right away and I’m happy I did. The art is b+w with a heavy use of halftones throughout. Byrne is as fluid as ever here and the story

Speaking of John Byrne I’m slowly picking up his 28 issue run on Alpha Flight. I’m probably 80 percent there and I’m loving every minute of the digging through crates, searching Ebay and of course the reading. It’s just good clean fun.

This car is seen all over punta Gorda. They have some expensive cars here and it is a mixture of people who have them some people figure that they should try and live a lifestyle which is a bit more comfortable it's not a bad idea for some. And this car is prevalent this particular model. Alfa Romeo spider. And with the saying is our son is an alpha and he is like Romeo with his wife Juliet who is Hera and he is a spider eating his spies and he uses the computer too and as a reference some use to kaiju but most days the computer. About 90% of them though are saying it's our son and they're doing it themselves and there's a ton of it going on and it's because of Saturn she pointed out because of that it's the code and people who are driving around would probably attract the attention of the computer if it exists and that's why she's saying to get more to try and figure it out to train get access and it's going on now all over put together in Port Charlotte. It is an expensive sports car but it's not massively expensive it's like a Mercedes sports car which are about the same price around 80 to 100,000. And the quality is there it's an Italian company it's the parent company of Fiat. And they really move out too the spider goes about 180 to 230 miles per hour depending on the package you get and that's actually super car speed they call it and it's slowly changing but it hasn't yet but that's very fast for a car and it can handle it on certain roads terrain matters but in Florida most roads are not that bumpy or damaged and it really moves out I mean these people are seeing going fast and sometimes they have to and that's the code we don't really like it and they're a bunch of asses and they're mean and they're not finding anything and they're going after each other and it's ruining the place again.

-secondly our sun passed the FEMA area with the campers and trailers and there's a bunch out there probably about 75 including both and it is a heartache because there's so many of them unused and they're sitting there vacant and people needed them and they can't use them yeah these people are asses these clones are morons you guys doing the kissing thing walking by as our son's talking about it and he's going to get beat up and people are saying it out loud. The point is that's their attitude and the other side is advantage and it's gross a lot of them are very gross people. And there's a lot of them saying dumb things now and they should shut the f****** go home yourself you f****** weirdo tell your hands to stick it up their ass and really we do have it to back it up. But these trailers and campers are sitting there doing nothing and taking up space and people need them and they're not using them and it's a shame okay it's more than a shame it's really fine it's really a crime and that's what our son said on the bus it's just kind of giggling a little and then she said you know it is a crime there's not many of them but they just sit there as like this insult from Tommy f and he's an insulting prick and she said she saw him walk by and he's a massively insulting freak and I started saying he's going to pay and pay dearly and the Halloween series has begun and he is going to lose his face okay the movie the second scene has not started yet for some reason the same she's in prison and they're going to move her to a mental hospital and it's because people want to kidnapper and it's a huge mistake and they find out too late and she kills everybody. She hasn't trained his hit girl yet and she's going to but that comes after and it's after Nick nolte gets his face back and they're facing down Tommy f. Right now we are seeing a lot of people get upset about those campers and trailers and our son and daughter asking what is what is going on with them what are they doing every so often they have someone installed in one and they put them on a lot now there's a big area where they are and they put them in there and it's a campground a lot of people are signing up for it right now just good the kids are things out of there

How Was The Monster Verse Developed

 One of the most diversified forms of representation is “art” and we see it in various forms and various representations. One of the most prominent forms of art in the Japanese culture represents the essence of catastrophe in the fictional world i.e. “Kaiju.” Below is one of the most prominent Kaiju films of all time.

 Godzilla

 The story revolves around Ford and his family who stay in a small town near the Philippines. But an incident in the uranium mine leads to an event where ford losses his mother. This slowly and gradually unveils the journey of Joe finding Godzilla & the ancient MUTO’s eventually realizing them being ancient rivals. 

 Kong Skull Island

 The story circles around an air force pilot from the Vietnam war who accidentally lands up in the uncharted Skull Island. So a group of people makes an expedition to Skull Island where they witness a giant ape called Kong who is the protector of the island. As the island comprises a local tribe of people who are being protected by Kong from Skull crawlers. 

 Godzilla: King Of Monster

 It is a continuation of the movie Godzilla where Madison loses his brother in the San Francisco incident led by Godzilla & the MUTO’s. As the existence of Godzilla comes into the picture people slowly and gradually start putting their hands to grab this opportunity. Thus leading to the development of various other titans like Rodan, Mothra & Ghidorah. Leading to a battle between Ghidorah & Godzilla on the quest of becoming the ultimate titan.

 Godzilla Vs Kong

 The title and the story itself define the journey of two alpha titans who might come face to face one day. As Godzilla is one of the ancient predators who fed on radiation and became a source of unlimited power & kong is the protector of the precious things he values the most. Though humanity does take an unexpected toll on these alpha titans, will they both unite to fight with the actual enemy?

Jean-Luc was actually a sweet character. Also what is it with King and giving all his minions with french names?

Okay on to the heavier stuff.

I think that King's father is a titan. But not the one belos is connected to.

We have only seen one tiny section of this series' world so far. Roughly the size of the Hawaiian islands.

The titan that the Islanders live on must have fallen eons ago, but that doesn't mean others of its kind don't live elsewhere.

Look at this pic:

King's father is fighting some other kind of titan. One that looks vaguely insect-like.

Perhaps titans are like Kaiju: they fight until one is declared the alpha.

King's father may have been under attack by another titan seeking to become the alpha. So he hid his offspring away for safety. The tower may be a nursery place where titans keep their offspring.

As for creatures like Jean-Luc, he seems to be made of stones and muscle tissue. Perhaps creatures like him are crafted with magic to act as emergency soliders or body guards. Jean-Luc was trying to make more with all the rock piles in the castle, but could not because he didn't have the right magic. King then copied this behaviour.

It's quite possible that the stories of armies and grand feasts were told to king by his father while in his egg. King absorbed the information and assumed it was about him. Eda then encouraged this when she saw his stacking behavior.

So. What does all this mean for the overall plot?

First. King's father may be a potential ally to take down belos.

Being aligned with a titan, a living titan, would completely destroy any creditability belos has as a divine ruler.

Second. Belos may be as limited as Lilith in his knowledge of the past.

Whether we think he's a human or not, Belos clearly has all his poker chips stacked on reviving the dead titan.

Perhaps this is because he, like everyone else on the island, is under the impression that titans are an extinct species.

Regardless. King as an infant titan presents some very interesting options.

Third. I don't think that the human-like witches are native to this world.

I think that they are descended from humans who eons ago came through through a tear in the two dimensions.

They settled on the bones of the titan and eventually their morphology changed in response to the magic.

All other creatures are smaller lifeforms that exist in the ecological shadows of the titans.

As for titans themselves, they are the planet's dominant species and magic exists in them naturally.

King can't do magic, but that may be simply because he's a child and his abilities haven't developed yet. After all, he's thousands of times smaller than what an adult of his species would be.
