Support Maui, Hawai'i Residents During the Lahaina Wildfire Crisis
A series of wildfires exacerbated by hurricane winds and climate change has destroyed homes, historical sites, and natural flora in Lahaina, Maui. Thousands have been displaced, and lives have been lost.
WWC's mod Ren has put together a page outlining resources for residents displaced and affected by the wildfires, and for those who wish to support them during this crisis.
Please share this resource and consider donating, especially if you are not local to Hawai'i and have visited or are considering visiting the islands.
Find a list of orgs to donate to HERE
Our hearts are with Maui residents during this tremendous loss.

if you experience climate anxiety and are bogged down by the “what can i even do as an individual” mindset then you need need need to get involved in supporting your local indigenous communities. i mean it. when we say “land back” as a means to combat the impacts of climate change that needs to happen in actionable ways. land acknowledgements are not enough. reblogging tumblr posts is not enough. and yes i know that we know the names of the <20 people killing our planet but there are genuinely things you can do at your local levels. i’m so so so lucky to live in a place with many indigenous-run non-profits committed to habitat restoration, food sovereignty, re-introducing native species etc. and seeing this “land back” in action is one of the most inspiring things i’ve ever seen in terms of climate resiliency. just spending time removing invasive plants and planting natives and hearing about how the native birds are coming back and one day our children’s children will be able to eat fish from waters heavily polluted by the military. change is happening. and i guarantee it is happening in your area. sure it’s not going to completely reverse things but you need need need to get out of that doomer mindset. and if you’re not physically able volunteer on-site then find those organisations and give them your money and spread the word about them to those in your life who you know can help. i know so many of us are just trying to get by day by day but there can be no business as usual in this current world. you have the ability to help promote indigenous land stewardship right now.

Hawai'i will be free one day, and justice will be given to the American colonists.
I don't think it's a radical ideal for the want of Hawai'i to become their own independent country. It should have never been taken over by the US in the first place. For a country whose entire foundation is based upon "separation from a colonial country" it's laughable that they made an entire population that was self governed into a state. It's insulting. It's already blatantly obvious that this whole country was based on lies and blood, and it only continues to perpetuate that. I'm shocked that the Hawai'ian sovereignty movement isn't mainstream even though they have been fighting for it since 1997. Fuck the American government.

also there is something so heartbreaking about learning hawaiian history as someone of native hawaiian descent. like for one, i had to choose to take a class on my own as an adult. we had classes in school and i picked stuff up since like im born and raised here but like. idk i had to choose to look into it on my own.
and the second part is that like, i always knew it was a bloody and violent history but like everyone fought so Hard. and to see in detail the extent that activist groups organized (hui kalai'aina and hui aloha 'aina come to mind, they went around the islands getting signatures to protest annexation and they took that shit to the capitol) and like, there were some people that listened but for the most part the US just abused whatever power they could to take anything and everything and its like.
youre reading this tragic story, something that happened right where you grew up, that happened to the people you come from, and they're fighting so hard to just keep themselves alive they're doing EVERYTHING they can, and you know how the story ends. you know because you are living it right now, what happens is that despite all their efforts, they're still killed or stripped of their language, culture, land, resources, etc.
the worst part was in one of our readings i remember there was a board of american men that were pushing for english only schools, defunding hawaiian schools and then saying "look at how bad these schools are performing, look at how nobody is sending their kids there! it must be bc the hawaiian schools suck" and not bc they like. took away all their resources
and they like explicitly stated that their end goal was to separate hawaiian children from the language and the culture, to raise them to be as non-hawaiian as possible. they figured it was better for hawaiian kids to grow up not being able to speak the language, not knowing anything about their culture, and essentially just being as disconnected as possible and i realize as i was reading it that i was their end goal. im hawaiian but i cant speak the language and i have to apply to a class as an adult to try to learn about the place i was born and raised in and its humiliating and That is what they wanted. it sucks it fucking sucks to realize that about yourself, the people that wanted to erase your culture so bad not only did it, but You are their desired result of that.

Here’s where my heart longs to be.Pics like this are essential to my well being, where every morning I awake to. Where my present reality dissolves and I mount my Pegasus and fly in a single thought to paradise.During my afternoon naps in a trance I often visit such locations. It has become a habit of mine. This is a key step in visualizing your manifestation.I have actually been to such locations physically and met many interesting souls, all in a journey of their own ,some in search of their spirituality, while others to break their shells and embark in “flights of fancy “,if you know what I mean. But I raise a warning not to get lost in the lure thrown by dark entities and their pervasive energies ,sweet to the human ear ,like sirens but only to bring you to the end in the deep.Well, my blessings and much joy as you explore your idea of paradise.
