hi! ftm almost15 here. im going to be sexually active soon and my mom has no idea because whenever sex comes up, she acts like its gross or something for me to interact like that. is it weird to be sexually active at my age? should i feel gross?

Hi! It's not weird and you shouldn't "feel gross". There's nothing wrong with having sex. Especially since it sounds like you're aware of any risks and being careful!

I can't say specifically where your mother is coming from. It might just be because some people don't like the idea of their children having sex.

Regardless, I'm sorry she's made it uncomfortable for you to come to her about this! That makes things really difficult.

But it doesn't mean you're gross for planning to have sex. You're allowed to have sex. Just keep it consensual and you're absolutely fine.

And ignore anyone shaming you for having/wanting sex, that's inappropriate and a them-problem, not a you-problem.

Also! If you mean you're going on birth control after you have sex, it is recommended to go on birth control beforehand. Birth control can't prevent pregnancy (if that's your goal) just by taking it afterwards.

You never know what is ahead and today was a very sad day at No 10! My darling faithful companion Lola went to Rainbow Bridge! We had our vet come to the house to end her pain! Sirens Dance was established by choreographer Ramona Lobo, to show Australia the general interest of Bollywood. In 2005 she started instructing selected artists from contrasting backgrounds in her extraordinary style.
