I'm a person of vision and willpower. Nothing can hold me down. Except lab reports. I study physics!

This week will be WILD
I'm so ready to move into something that benefits me in financial and career growth.
All the actual work I've done so far has been for money alone. The experiences add to my value as an employee, but not as an astronomer or physicist. Now I'm going to do something that has the potential to bring me money and job-specific valuable experience. I'm so excited.

Mushrooms r cool! Also! I got a research and development sponsorship! Very nice. I feel very excited to go and gain that experience. I've never done anything at a different university, so this should be very fun.

Optical fibers look REALLY cool without coating. This one is just core and cladding, so you can see the light spreading and escaping. This was the highlight of my day last Tuesday. I measured this fiber for an optics lab course I am taking.

This week was difficult, but the light stayed on.
I'll be posting more as I have time! I had a lot of things preventing me from doing my work, but I was able to redeem the week and finish strong. I wish everyone a similar success.

Flashback to my optics lab! Yesterday was so incredibly cool. My lab partner and I collected data to confirm Malus's law, which has to do with the angle of orientation of polarizers and the resulting intensity of light. This picture captures the post-lab demonstration of how the polarization of light can be viewed using water.

MY COLLEGE STUDYING EXPERIENCE
When you first start college classes, people will tell you that you do not know how to study because you never had to in high school. In my case, this was 100% wrong. I didn't know how to continuously study HARD topics. I got intimidated and didn't study at all for a while due to a fear of failure.
I was really afraid that i just wouldn't be capable of learning all that I needed to know efficiently, partly because people told me I didn't know how to study.I have now realized how misplaced that fear was. Any studying method is better than nothing. I have fallen into a very enjoyable flow now that I ignore the voices of those people. I have learned to try what I know, and readjust if it doesn't work. I didn't need to relearn how to study. I knew how and got psyched out 😔
Never doubt for a moment that you're capable. I did, and it did NOT help me.
