In the wake of being featured on @suebrycephotographer eduction blog Monday I have thought a lot about where I have come from. Where I started and the journey to where I am. I am sooooo much better today than I was even a year ago. And the thing is I feel no desire to rest. If anything I feel more energized and I have more resolve to continue to get better and evolve and improve. But I also have the desire to help others who are starting out to give advice when it is asked for to help others find their style and passion with their cameras. Whether you are a mom who wants to take great photos of your kids or whether you are an aspiring photographer that wants to start a real business. I want to help those who want it. Because when I started there was me. And Sue Bruce of course via the internet. One thing I have never forgotten and will never forget was when @jkingimages visited me at my studio and showed me some tricks with a beauty dish. Between that and high speed sync my world was changed with lighting. I say all of that to say that this quote from @tombilyeu is the absolute truth. And too many of us live in our past failings instead of letting them go and building our bigger dreams! So if you need me I am here. I will help you if I can. So I wanted to take a moment and say how proud I am of @thetuckerbrown2 it was almost three years ago that he came to @pbrown1212 and I to inform us what he wanted to do with his life. His conviction was that of someone twice his age. He said all I want to do is act, sing and dance. And from that day until now everything he has done has been about those things. Studying, rehearsing, preparing, anything he could do, watch and read to study his craft and be ready. He has also had straight A(s) in school as well. And now he is in LA, continuing to work on his craft and preparing for for those moments that will equal success. Success is when preparation meets opportunity. So if you would when you get ready to fall asleep remember him and send positive thoughts and prayers up for him. Independence Day! The greatest act of high treason towards the crown and the start of the greatest experiment in human history. Today as I reflect back on the last 242 years and all the things that this country has done and accomplished, we are only just beginning. American exceptionalism is a real thing, regardless of what anyone says. Those who say there is no such thing, doesn't want there to be such a thing, but there is. We are not without our share of problems. Who is? But the hope I see in the eyes of the next generation I get to photograph is remarkable. They are the reason I know we are exceptional.
