I wanted to share this article as soon as I read it. It just...strikes my soul. I don't feel like articulating my thoughts further. It's just a really good read, true, and I like it a lot.
#the little I will say:#almost ALL white people do this#if you're lucky someone will have the courage to point when you express anti-Black rhetoric/biases#this will likely trigger fear#a reflexive 'nuh uh not me' if you will#but instead of focusing on the social implications of this#take a deep breath#a DEEEP breath#don't respond immediately. take at least 24 hours#be more like Gwen and just do better anyway#even if you won't be forgiven#atsv#atsv spoilers#my post#writing#spiderverse#across the spiderverse#spiderman#vitactree posts

I know some dickheads have now decided that Judaism is the "bad, violent, terrorist religion" and Islam is the "good, peaceful" one, which is only to be expected of white people, but how much of an issue is it currently? Like I've seen some USAmericans sharing how the Islamic faith shapes Gazans values and perseverance (good) except with that distinct white hippie "I'm about to imprint on this like the world's most racist duck" vibe (bad), but I didn't think they're already turning on Judaism in numbers.
Do they realize that Christianity is also the same kind of comfort to Christian minorities in Asia and Africa? That it was Buddhists that genocided the Rohingyas in Myanmar and Tamils in Sri Lanka? That Hindu fundamentalists are even now trying to ethnically cleanse Muslims in India? How Hindus and Christians are terrorized and persecuted in Pakistan? That Muslims have a history of persecuting and ethnically cleansing Jews too?
Really tired of asking y'all to be normal about people's religions man. There's no religion that's inherently violent or exceptionally peaceful. It's just like any other ideology that becomes a weapon in the hands of ethnic power. Interrogate power, not religion, and respect people's belief systems insofar as they aren't in your business.
Edit: I've amended the "long history" of Muslim persecution of Jews because it might be misleading in the current political climate. Zionism and antisemitic Arab nationalism are twin births resulting directly from Christian colonization, and Islamic empires tended to actually be more tolerant of other religions compared to Christianity, especially Judaism, which was considered a sibling religion. Antisemitism wasn't ideologically entrenched in Islamic tradition. It's simply that ethno-religious power will lead to ethno religious domination and intermittent cleansing of minorities, and Islam is no exception. Humans be humaning always.
#Edit: please boost the edit#why can't white people just be fuckin normal for once#tbh this site was so weird about Judaism that it felt almost culty#I had several crises about whether I was being antisemitic before I realized no I'm just reacting to the idealization-demonization binary#that seems to be all western leftists know how to do#white queers are the worst about this#and now some of the asks I've been getting gives me the impression that the west thinks ''Islamist'' is some kind of dangerous cryptid#y'all attach insane levels of importance to people's choice of headgear#the only common denominator of all the Muslims I know is their fixation on biriyani idk#a lot of white lefties just want to use religion to distance yourself from your white privilege#same reason as why communism is so attractive to you#y'all want to share in a legacy of oppression because it's easier than self-reflection and unlearning#antisemitism#anti Zionism#Islamphobia#philosemitism#white queers#western leftists#racism#religious fundamentalism#genocide#religious violence#knee of huss

Core Gems
So when a ghost becomes injured, they have a last ditch defense where they retreat into their core. And I mean, injured badly where their body is rip apart to the point they canât hold a solid form anymore. And they basically go into a hibernation state until they are strong enough to form again.
Ellie, Danny, and Dan are all injured in a final battle against the GIW. The organization was destroyed and the ghosts were safe but the halfas ended up being so injured that they reverted to core form and then went to sleep for a bit. When they woke up, they were still weak but at least recovered enough to gain consciousness. And realizeâŚthey are in some kind of auctionâŚin the middle of a heist. It appeared that two furries (one in a bat costume and one in a cat costume) were ducking it out. And theyâŚthey were a necklace. All three of them had been turned into a necklace with their cores as gems accompanied by sapphires, pearls, and opals. And frankly gorgeous craftsmanship as the metal was crafted around their cores as if to cradle them and the other gems.
Unfortunately, they were too weak to take a form properly, they could still feel the strain on their bodies. But at least they could still communicate through their auras. Then the cat lady punched a hole in the glass container surrounding them and grabbed their necklace.
However, the bat grabbed the other end and it resulted in a sort of tug-a-war. Meanwhile, Danny, Ellie, and Dan were having a back and form commentary on the situation and what they should do. Completely unheard by the other party.
In the corner of their eye, the three halfas finally noticed a third contender. Some kind of clown who wasâŚhold onâŚholding a gun?! And it was pointed straight at the two fighting furies who had yet to notice him. The ghostsâ protective instincts went into overdrive and they frantically tried to shout, yell, move. Just do something to warn the two but their cries fell on deaf ears. All they succeeded in doing was faintly glow which immediatly caught the attention of the fighting duo. The two turned to look at the strange necklace but right at that moment, the clown fired and a gunshot rang throughout the auction room. Having no other options, Danny and the others poured every ounce of ectoplasm they had to try and phaseshift, making the two furries intangible as the bullets passed right through them, but in their shock, the two jumped away in opposite directions and accidentally ripped the necklace apart. Gems and pearls went flying and the three cores bounced along the ground.
Luckily, the two finally noticed the clown and went to deal with him and his minions who had appeared. Seemingly putting their fight on hold and forming a temporary truce. The three halfas could only watch as the battle finally wound down, ending with the cops barging into the place and arresting the clown and his grunts, the cat managing to escape with half the scattered gems and pearls from the broken necklace along with a few other jewelry pieces (none of their cores though) and the bat leaving through a skylight.
The auction continued and in the end, despite being broken, their necklace seemed to have caught someoneâs interest. A man named Bruce Wayne bought up every piece of the shattered jewelry wear. The auctioneers appeared relived that the item managed to sell in the end and gratefully gave it to him.
Bruce had no idea what happened at the auction, but he could have sworn that some of the gems faintly glowed right before he and Selina were shot. If the necklace was some sort of magical item, then he needed to understand exactly what has been brought to Gotham. It was unfortunate that Selena had taken some parts of the necklace but he utilized his vast wealth to make sure all the other parts ended in his possession. Now he would take them back to the mansion for examination.
#Dpxdc#dcxdp#kizzer55555 ideas#Bruce thinks the necklace is magical. Heâs technically not wrong.#When he gets home he immediately puts each gem in a glass container to examine them. For the longest time though nothing happens.#They all look like normal gems except for the main three of the piece. He canât identify what kind of gem they are.#The gems are perfect spheres with various shades of blue (with hints of green and white) swirling around.#The colors almost look like they are moving in slow motion. Still. Nothing happens as he examines them and no strange events happen.#That is until one day he decided to take the gems to be examined by a professional and a villain attacked.#A piece of building was about to crush him when a wall of ice appeared as a shield over him. After that he took them back to the cave.#Bruce looks up thousands of documents about enchanted necklaces and artifacts but finds nothing. He even calls in favors from JLD.#Zatanna doesnât recognize them but feels some kind of power coming off the gems however it doesnât feel malevolent (at least for 2 of them)#(The last gem is neutral.) Also Constantine was unavailable (*cough* hiding from responsibilities *cough*)#The other bats get interested in the gems. Tim has a theory that they are some kind of protective charms. Damian agrees.#(Everyone is shocked Tim and Damian agree on something). So while Bruce is continuing his investigation the other bats decide to do some#âField testingâ and take the gems out. Consequently the gems end up saving their lives and they discover a few things they can do like make#The wearer invisible. Intangible. Create green barriers/constructs. Create ice. Vibrate when an enemy is coming. And much more.#The bats fashion them into new individual bracelets/necklaces and think they are the coolest thing. They have powered up protective charms!#The halfas just wish these kids would STOP PUTTING THEIR LIVES IN DANGER! What are they MORONS?!#Most of the ectoplasms they recover is used to protect the bats and nearby civilians.#(Dan also trolls people and is mostly protective his siblings though)#People notice the new power ups. A rougue gets his hands on a gem and tries to use it ONCE to attack something but the gems didnât respond.#Then it froze the roughâs legs to the ground.#Much time later the gems are swapped between the bats and alternated and have just become a new item in their belt#(batman was not pleased but eventually got used to it and begrudgingly accepted that they were useful. Especially when they save his kids)#They come to a Justice league meeting and Constantine finally sees them.#His mouth drops in shock and he frantically asks where they got GHOST CORES?! And this is when the bats finally realise what they have.#And are horrified to realize EXACTLY what they are holding and that these âgemsâ were technically ALIVE.#Meanwhile the three Halfas have been kinda chilling but also working their butts off to keep this family alive. It was a fulltime job.

Yesterday, in NYC, a man lit a woman, who was sleeping in a subway car, on fire until she died. So the man arrested will be charged with terrorism as well as murder, correct? His attack was also threatening the lives of other homeless people (which it is assumed she was so). Surely he will also be charged with terrorism for scaring those people, right?
Or is it only terrorism when rich people are threatened?
Also, surely the fact the person who did this being an undocumented immigrant wonât be mentioned in every single news article about it, right? A woman was brutally murdered. Who gives a shit where the perpetrator is from, all we should care is that he is detained and punished.
Right?
We all agreed to this, right?
Or does race and immigration status only matter when a non-white and or undocumented immigrant commits a crime?
Same place, same police.
And I think we all know how differently this murder will be treated. And why.
#as far as I can tell she hasnât been identified yet and it seems she was homeless#SHE WAS ASLEEP!#you could not have gotten more non threatening than what she was doing#it pisses me off that the media isnât covering blake livelys lawsuit and horrific allegations but were so fast to capitalize on Johnny#depps lawsuit#it pisses me off this womanâs death will be nothing more than a small news article where itâs possible her name may never even be found#but both luigi and Thompson will have every single aspect of their live transcribed and memorialize fucking pisses me off#the fact that Thompsons murder will be portrayed as outrageous while this womanâs murder#a woman BURNT ALIVE#one of the most painful ways to die#will be forgetton#even if she is identified#there wonât be her picture everywhere hashtags about her journalists painstakingly documenting everything#the obvious hypocrisy in this murder compared to Luigiâs murder is obvious and painful#I know it holds so much symbolic value fuck American healthcare I am completely on board 100% agree#but I think people are so hypocritical criticizing police for only working so hard on a murder when itâs a rich guy (true) while the masses#including me#are obsessed with a case about two rich white men#Iâm not at all saying what luigi did shouldnât be praised and focused on and talked about not at all#but just as a current events and true crime girlie (derogatory) it just always bothers me that cases that go big involve rich white people#almost always#this post was meant to be purely criticizing how authorities are handling this case but ig also a slight condemnation for making this#attention so rare#does thins make sense#raeâs rambles#luigi mangione#current events

played dragon age 2...just simple scribbles
#dragon age tag#i doubt that will see much use again..but who knows. vvv rambling below#weird game..the characters dialogue stuff and ending were good tho :')#i've played some of the first game but it kept crashing. i knew already despite knowing nothing that this guy was going to be my type#it doesnt feel right making video game art any more bc games like this end up feeling really personal - an experience that happened to me#if i design the main character a bit and fall in love then..that happened to me..i can't make Fan Art of that..only ive been through that..#like i cant make fanart of my dear companions in bg3 despite it having been a huge part of my heart in the last year#almost 1000 hours of playtime in something i can barely talk about bc it means too much.... lol#tons of ideas and conversations and extra thoughts and scenes and emotions about all the incredible times i've been through in bg3#and the maelstrom just rotates around intensely in my own heart forever...but that's ok too...that is so precious to me#but fortunately i already knew people that have played this game and talked/drew abt it recently so it was saved from that for me#sharing scribbly fanart on my Blog is a way to capture the feeling just after experiencing something so it has good points#witch hat atelier escapes that by not being a GAME. games are so immersive. but my wha art & feelings are incredibly immersive too#which makes it difficult sometimes now. i live a complicated and emotional life <3 i am not suited to fandom <3#my character ended up looking so much like oru without me realising that's what i was doing. Kind bearded fireball throwing gay mage. Hmm.#falling for a sad white hair memory trauma fellow that keeps you at a tragic distance. Hmmmmmm.#i see also how very much bg3 is inspired by stuff like dragon age now lol so i'm glad i experienced it. I WANT MY KIRKWALL LIFE BACK...#so dated though as well and unpleasant at times (the city and the dismal atmosphere was depressing.) i hate violence/horror..#bg3 is SOOOO very dismal but it feels like I am killing people and going through horrors because i have to survive i have to be free#Well anyway. ahh it's so refreshing to fall in love. my gay journey continues...

I think I have accidentally become very protective of the story of Snow White.
#listening to the disney animation podcast about some early features#made the mistake of listening to the snow white one involving a conversation with someone who deems herself a feminist#and hoo boy#they were fairer than i expected#but also LET ME AT 'EM!#do you have no appreciation for innocence?#for love?#there is no film nowadays that would value housework as a worthwhile skill the way this one does#and that shouldn't be the only thing women can do#but a lot of women do it!#also this film doesn't need to be commenting on all of society#sometimes you're just telling this one specific story#idk i guess writing my own version of snow white#who is almost comically pure and innocent#makes me appreciate her a lot more and get mad at people who don't#when i have time i need to write a better rant

'I flirted with the idea that instead of being trans that I was just a cross-dresser (a quirk, I thought, that could be quietly folded into an otherwise average life) and that my dysphoria was sexual in nature, and sexual only. And if my feelings were only sexual, then, I wondered, perhaps I wasnât actually trans.
I had read about a book called The Man Who Would Be Queen, by a Northwestern University professor who believed that transwomen who were attracted to women were really confused fetishists, they wanted to be women to satisfy an autogynephilia. And though I first read about this book in the context of its debunkment and disparagement, I thought about the electricity of slipping on those tights, zipping up those boots, and a stream of guilt followed. Maybe this professor was right, and maybe I was only a fetishist. Not trans, just a misguided boy.
About a year later, on the Internet, I come across a transwoman who added a unique message to the crowd refuting this professor. Oh, I wish I remember who this woman was, and I wish even more that I could do better than paraphrase her, but I remember her saying something like this: âWell, of course I feel sexy putting on womenâs clothing and having a womanâs body. If you feel comfortable in your body for the first time, wonât that probably mean itâll be the first time you feel comfortable, too, with delighting in your body as a sexual thing?â'
-Casey Plett, Consciousness
#this quote always moves me almost to tears when i remember it#i'm not a trans woman and i don't share the author's specific experiences with transition#but it really moves me that she frame transition as joyfully giving yourself permission to approach your body#not as something that has to be disciplined and deprived and made small in all these various ways#but as a means for experiencing pleasure and joy and delight and for insisting that our feelings and desires are worth#valuing and exploring and treasuring#i always used to think of prioritizing those things for myself as selfish and irresponsible#but who does it harm to want to experience pleasure in your own body?#it's such a beautifully simple and powerful switch to have flip in your head#and equally why are we forced to deny our own pleasure in transition and anything else related to our bodies in the name of moral rectitude#this is why i get so confused and pissed off when other trans people are fatphobic for example#like why are you so invested in politics of shame and disgust that never had any purpose other than#violently disciplining people as if they've violated moral codes by existing in a body#to say nothing of white people being racist in gay and trans communities#like again this system of violence is foundational to homophobia and transphobia#so why are you acting like it has nothing to do with you#even if you are unmoved by the urgency of other people's suffering which btw you should be moved by#what do you hope to gain by acting a collaborator and handmaiden to those systems#Casey Plett#she really is one of my favorite authors i wish more non-canadians read her#this quote is from a series of columns she did ont transition and every single one is a banger#i love when she talks about the people-pleasing elements of dysphoria and transition denial#she's so sharp about noting how many of us deny our own dysphoria on the grounds that others like and validate our bodies#that's how i always felt during my cis conventionally feminine era#it pleased other people so much and also that reception felt so hollow and joyless to me because i hated it#i get less of that positive feedback but that feels so unimportant next to the joy and pleasure i get to experience#said with the understanding that i'm very privileged in being able to prioritize those things without fear. but it was a switch flip#personal nonsense

look guys i actually did some spirit designs
[ID: the Hargreeves' spirits in the Paranatural au - or at least, the five of them that are kids in this au.
Luther's is an ape that looks like his body from the comics. Diego's is a creature that looks a bit like a small porcupine. Allison's is a large snake with its mouth duct taped shut. Klaus' is a blue raccoon with three eyes and a pink tail, and Viktor's is based off of the White Violin from the comics, except its head transforms into reaching arms. End ID.]
sorry, the ID got REALLY long this time. that's a summary for anyone scrolling, theres a more detailed one under the cut!
[ID: Luther's spirit is labelled First Simian In Space: THE MARTIAN APE. He looks like the ape that supplied Luther's body in the comics, drawn in the paranatural style; blue, with one eye. He is wearing an astronaut helmet and sitting in a coin operated rocket ship that is much too small for it. He has transformed the world around him into a scifi martian landscape; cardboard standups with doors and lockers scribbled on them are the only indication of the real world. Luther is sprawled on the ground staring in shock, while the Martian Ape says "Y'know, you should totally just kill your dad".
Diego's spirit is a very small creature that looks a bit like a porcupine.
Panel 1: Diego holds his spirit in his hands and says, "So, what's your name?". His spirit responds "I am called..."
Panel 2: A caption appears; Projectile Extraordinaire: KRAKEN. The image is in full color, focusing on Kraken, which glowers cutely and shows off her spines.
Panel 3: The same shot as panel one, except Diego now looks very skeptical. He says "..." and then "Why." Kraken responds "It sounded cool."
Allison's spirit is a giant green snake coiled around a tree branch, with a pattern down his back that looks like open mouths.
The first two images are centered on Allison, who is scowling in both. Someone unseen says "It can force people to do things, honey!" and "It's too dangerous to leave you alone with it." and finally, "So we fixed it."
The final image is of the spirit. He is captioned Muzzled Mind Controller: THE RUMOR. His mouth has been duct taped shut. He does not look pleased.
Klaus' spirit is a blue raccoon with dark purple legs and a fluffy striped pink tail. It also has three eyes.
Panel 1: The large colored closeup of Klaus' spirit. It is captioned Mystical Conartist: THE SEANCE.
Panel 2: Klaus asks it "With a name like that, what's your power?" The Seance, its nose just high enough to fit into frame, replies, "Oh, I can sense ghosts"
Panel 3: Klaus looks supremely unimpressed. In the background, a ghost says "Hi" to Allison and Luther, and they say "Oh, hey" back.
Panel 4: Klaus asks, "Seriously?"
Panel 5: The Seance, viewed from above, says "Hey, I can sense them even when they're not visible! Like behind walls and stuff!"
Panel 6: The Seance adds "Also I can float." It is demonstrating, floating about eye level with Klaus and emitting a cloud of cyan spectral energy as it does so. Klaus looks more pleased with this and says "Okay, that one's pretty good."
Viktor's spirit is a Wight, a spirit so warped by rage and pain that it has permanently been changed, its spectral energy has become white, and has gained massive, devastating power. It looks a lot like the design of the White Violin in the comics, but it manifests too many or too few arms from where its head should be.
There are three images of it. In the first, it is kneeling. It has manifested six arms in varying degrees of completeness, and all of them look sad.
In the second, the matter of its head has split into many small pieces that almost look like parts of mouths, save for two clawing hands. It screams, in the Wight spirit language from Paranatural, WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME.
In the third, the largest, its knees buckle as it stands and manifests one reaching hand. It is captioned Violent White: THE WHITE VIOLIN. End ID]
#tua#the umbrella academy#luther hargreeves#diego hargreeves#allison hargreeves#klaus hargreeves#uhhhh...#vanya hargreeves#?#thats definitely not viktor. and its not REALLY vanya either but it IS made to look like her#space boy#the kraken#the rumor#the seance#the white violin#i feel like those are all fair game#some notes in no particular order:#look i did a spirit language from the webcomic! literally the easiest one to make (and read) but still!#its called Wight Wail btw bc Paranatural is mostly puns by weight#omg guys should i do something where delores speaks in Cursed Words?#in order to speak cursed words you have to have killed people but. she deserves it#also after i finished lining almost all of them i wore out my wrist and have been waiting like a week for it to heal enough to draw#i can do most of the heavy lifting of coloring and shading left handed which helped stave off the boredom#but it still hurts and its been a week and i WANT TO BE DONE so i gave up on ever lining klaus' and colored the sketch i had#there was stuff i wanted to fix and change but... well nevermind doing that i guess lol#also hence the typed text instead of handwritten. i would have used the sketch text but that was ACTUALLY illegible#extranatural#paranatural au

I don't think that framing "Marginalizedâ˘ď¸ Atheism/Deconstruction" and "Cishet White Male Atheism/Deconstruction" as inherently ~separate and distinct~ is super effective (and disclaimer I'm specifically speaking about my experience with christianity, atheism, and ex christian atheists/deconstructors), but also... okay so I was raised in a cult, and cults are oppressive for all its members. Nobody gets out unscathed, everyone experiences the abuse tactics, everybody is a victim. But within the cult there is a hierarchy, and cishet white men are at the top. So while the cult is oppressive to everyone, and everyone is harmed in some way, it is also uniquely oppressive to queer folks, to BIPOC, to disabled folks, to women, etc etc. And the thing that happens to some of those cishet white men is they leave an oppressive cult, where they are considered the "default", and they go into the ~real world~, where they are also considered the "default", and even in atheist/deconstruction spaces, their bodies and experiences are often the leading voices.
The men that leave go from an oppressive patriarchal culture to a far less oppressive (to them) patriarchal society. The white people that leave go from an oppressive racist culture to a far less oppressive (to them) racist society. The people that leave go from an oppressive culture that does not value marginalized voices to a different, less oppressive culture that also does not value marginalized voices. And if you personally do not experience [xyz] oppression, it can be difficult to even realize there are things surrounding that you have to deconstruct unless you listen to the voices of the oppressed. But some cishet white men go from being considered the "default" in an oppressive culture, to being considered the "default" in a less oppressive culture (to them). Their experience of "overcoming systemic oppression" comes from leaving the church, and it can be really easy to fall into the trap that the church, specifically, is the sole oppressor and enemy of everyone.
Of course this doesn't happen in every single case and it's also not exclusive to cishet white men. But those blind spots are why I think it's important for everyone to listen to a variety of voices when they're deconstructing, especially if those voices are talking about oppression you wouldn't have experienced firsthand.
No, our deconstructions are not inherently different, but the experiences and circumstances prior to it often are. It's okay to acknowledge that and beneficial for everybody to listen to each other's experiences.
#ex cult#ex christian#deconstruction#also extremely not claiming that i was or even am currently perfect about this#it really wasn't something i considered until the last couple years and i started getting on deconstruction tiktok#but when i was first deconstructing almost all of the deconstruction content i was consuming was cishet white and male#(one person not being het)#and like tbf these people generally seemed like good people just trying to do their best. it's nothing against them#but i didn't realize how like... important listening to other voices would be#both for the camaraderie and for learning#like yes i was chronically ill while in the church w both mental and physical conditions and it was damaging to me#but i was also not visibly disabled#and i didn't really pick up on how the church treated and harmed people who are visibly disabled while i was in it#and it wasn't something i really considered until i saw someone who was visibly disabled talk about their experience#how they'd get harassed at church#how everyone wanted to lay hands and pray for a miracle#how they were treated as the problem when praying didn't cure them#how people thought it was caused by sin or demons or lack of faith or whatever else#yes there is some overlap in our experiences but some things just didn't even cross my mind before bc it wasn't my personal experience#anyway diversify the voices you listen to when you're deconstructing it's good for you!!!

Petunia literally abused Harry bro đ and pointing that out doesnât mean weâre downplaying her grief or bc sheâs a woman
yall are gonna freak out when you realise that abusers are also human
#âshe literally ABUSEDââ yes ? and i still find her captivating and interesting#abusers are almost never just evil monsters#theyâre human beings who chose to do that to you#they actively chose to treat you that way Knowing Better#and just putting the label âabuserâ on a fictional character is so boring omg what about character studies#some people can be unredeemable ! and i can still sympathize#ive said it before. im never going to forgive my abuser and would probably punch you if you asked me to#<- but some people love my abuser and my abuser have real and good relationships in her life#shes not Evil and Monstrous all the time#but she was that way with me#people arenât one dimensional ! life isnât that black and white !#and its frankly quite childish and downright strange if you dont have the capacity to understand that#i literally talked about how my narcissa had good intentions but unredeemable in an ask like. the other day#nuance is interesting i fear :/#some people dont break the cycle of abuse and some people dont grow up to be good people#doesnt mean thats all there is to them i fear#anyway!#asks#also who said anything about her being a woman. that was all you king#also. syâs post had nothing to do with petunias relationship with harry ? yall are just pointing that out because you hate women#<- now i said it!#like sy was making an interesting point about petunias grief about losing a sister she barely knew anymore but grew up with#and yall have to come in and be like WAAAAHHH SHES AN ABUSER THO DID U KNOW DID YOUUUUU#grow up

It's interesting to me that when people are feeling particularly vicious and biting, they always go after Beej. Like, the venom I will see spat at him specifically is just remarkable.
#hawkeye spent entire seasons sexually harassing and bordering on sexually assaulting women and bj hit hawk once#trapper and bj both have violently knocked hawkeye clean off his feet the same amount of times while equally drunk#mulcahy makes it perfectly clear that he would like to hit hawkeye and uses his faith as the last remaining reason why he does not#trapper spends almost his whole time at camp insulting his wife and bj breaks down over his a handful of times#imo margaret and hawkeye and bj are all pretty much tied for the amount of character development they go through in the show#but because bj evolves in challenging ways instead of being a perfect apple pie eating bright white teethed sidekick#he is treated with such a remarkable amount of virulence that i will never understand#i do so much to try and make myself open for all kinds of people to enjoy the content i write#but i do have really painful moments where i have to look in the mirror and seriously ask myself#why i want so badly to be liked by people who would gleefully stab my favorite character a thousand times while i watched#my ramblings

People are not required to like the Wicked movie (I havenât seen it yet + havenât listened to the album on Spotify so I donât spoil it) BUTâŚif your reason for not liking it/refusing to watch it VERY LOUDLY is Cynthia Erivo, as a WOC whoâs been subjected to scrutiny since the moment her casting was announced, expressing her discomfort with a fan editâŚand you think that Colm Wilkinson is a sweet old grandpa who was a highlight of the Les Miserables movieâŚor you thought that LMM absolutely had a point about bootlegs/or were like. Blocking people over WATCHING Hamilton bootlegs back in the day. Or if you like Finding Neverland or Tanz Der VampireâŚor the new West Side StoryâŚyou really donât have much of a leg to stand on.
Likewise for if youâre REALLY CONCERNED about Ariana Granda and Ethan SlaterâsâŚthing and youâre still like. Watching Legally Blonde the Musical. Or looking forward to a Hugh Jackman film. You ALSO donât have a leg to stand on.
#it could be bad! no one is saying you HAVE to like it or watch it!#but be fucking honest that you were never actually going to watch it in the first place#and arenât enough of a Broadway fan to know that this is really nothing new and isnât a big deal when men and ESPECIALLY white men do it#people were ITCHING for the chance to call her âuppityâ#when actual sex offenders and abusers are actively involved in the production of a musical: oh thatâs fine! Separate the art from#the artist!#when itâs a black woman expressing discomfort with a fan edit: HOW DARE SHE?#on the record: I like almost all the pieces of media I mentioned#but that doesnât mean that theyâre immune to criticism while Wicked gets shat on

Tillie uploaded a few previews of Book 3 on her Instagram. Most of them were on her story though so they might be gone now. I posted them on reddit (ew) if you missed them and wanna see :)
She always gives us teasers when I'm at work and can't post about them right away, but yes, I saw them!
There are 8 pages for Clementine Book Three soooo I'll share them here under the cut and give my thoughts for anyone interested.
So... Olivia's havin' a real tough time.
If you'll remember from Book Two, whether because you read it or because you read my in-depth review/analysis of it: Olivia's pregnant with a little Amos Jr.
Or, as I like to call the baby: AJ 2.0
I know the baby's not going to be named AJ... but god, wouldn't that be so funny?? Everyone else would be so mad but I'd be so happy.
Anyway, I knew this would be a big thing in this book since obviously, but also because Tillie Walden was pregnant while she was working on these books. Given how she creates her stories, and how she's talked about how giving birth completely broke her... I think it's gonna be a lot.
We see how Olivia's struggling to cope with the pain she's in to the point where she's just like "God, kill me, just kill me--" which is a big oof.
And like... the fact that we're starting the story off like this? I see that "Chapter One" there, this is the opening to the final book in the trilogy.
And honestly...?
I'm so here for this.
Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm the weirdo here... but I'm actually a little excited to read this whole thing because yes, give me the horror of a visceral natural childbirth within the zombie apocalypse.
We kind of got that with Rebecca in S2, but y'know what? Crank it up to an 11. If you're gonna go there, then go there. Book One could've given us cannibalism but didn't. Book Two could've given us frankensteined walkers, but didn't. Give me something.
I don't know if I've just embraced that yes, these Clementine comics aren't good successors to the games. Yes, the Clementine here doesn't feel like the same Clementine we knew. Yes, the clemricca romance is not great. Yes, and I don't care anymore. I do not have the energy to be angry about it.
I mean, yeah I care that this is how they're choosing to continue Clementine's story, but it's so far removed from the games that as far as I'm concerned, her story ended a long time ago. This is just a "what if" spin off, and no amount of "no, it's canon" is ever going to change that. Besides, it helps me view these comics as their own thing, as well.
Also, wait a minute... counting heads, I see Clementine, Olivia, Ricca, Fen, Saa, and Derrick... and one unknown person. With glasses.
Gasp, but that's Ricca's thing.
Like... this is a lot.
This is so much.
God, Olivia's sobbing and vomiting all over the place, she's begging them to kill her just so that the pain will go away... but it looks like they're in a safe location with a midwife, so... at least there's that.
But yeah, Olivia's gonna pop out that baby and I wonder how graphic it's going to get.. Like, it's already pretty scary to see them trying to roll her over and pin her down so that the midwife can push the baby over the pelvis on the next contraction... gaaaahhhh--
However, it's questionable if both Olivia and the baby survive given the whole "Clementine suffers a loss unlike anything she's ever faced" thing from the book's description. The obvious bet is that Olivia will die and the group will have to take care of the baby, but who knows?
Speaking of, I'll also share these from the article that posted the pages:
I don't know what else to say about these pages; we're in a new location with new characters, Olivia's having a baby and it's brutal... I'm interested to learn more about The Gardener and what the supposedly safe place is, but we won't know until July.
And yes, I've already preordered my copy because of course I have. When it does come out, you can expect another in-depth review/analysis of it in the "I read it so you didn't have to" style... AND I plan of doing a separate essay that's an analysis of the trilogy as a whole, explores the clemricca romance, dives into Tillie Walden's other works and what they can help us to understand the trilogy better, etc.
This is also another reminder to not be a prick. Leave Tillie alone. If you want to be mad about the comics, that's fine, but leave her out of it. Post about it on your blog, or go be butthurt on reddit.
But yeah, what do y'all think? Let me know!
#asks#twdg clementine#clementine book three#literally i was at work and i hadn't checked insta for a while and what's the first thing i see?#i do think the pages look the best compared to book one and two#i'm just happy that it's almost over and tillie walden can move on to bigger and better projects without the same three people#stalking her account to write the same butthurt paragraph about the comics over and over again on all her posts#i'm at the point where i see those and i'm like dude just shut up. go outside and make yourself useful in society by touching some grass#and returning to reality because clementine's not real and she's not going to reward you for white knighting for her#then again is skybound really planning on leaving clem alone after this? i can hope but y'know.... gotta milk that cow I guess

I need everyone whose ever made a j. Diddy joke about jimmy to--in the most rudest, foul, and demeaning way possible- never speak again. I want your mouth sown up and I need you to be silenced Sancho the Fat, King of LeĂłn style
#mouthwashing#mouthwashing jimmy#hey idiot!#thats a real case of a man who sexually abused dozens if not hundreds of people#do not jokingly compare him to a fictional character. not only does the frequent joking lighten the ACTUAL irl crime#but theres alr so much joking about his crimes that its like everyone forgets about the real victims just to say the same 40 baby oil jokes#or to use this as their chance to be openly homophobic#like stop you cant be sayin that shit pasty white tumblr baby#yall make my ass itch like seriously i dont say i hate fandoms but mouthwashing is becoming a real contender bc i want to darkwoods you all#yknow that one move when the mc whines up his shovel and hits someone hard#yeah that#you guys are ironically so obsessed with jimmy its pathetic#saw a great post saying that in your weird effort to prove that you hate him (justifibly so) its almost like you boogie man ify his#existence#sometimes it actually feels so preformative bc i can tell its a media literacy and anti intellectual thing#where people cant admit that they like a fucked character but not their actions so yall overcompensate by giving him nicknames and unionica#making him the center of attention#and that soon transforms into weirdly insensitive j diddy jokes#get a grip#edit: also jimmy is no saint. hes an ass. in fact worst than an ass hes a pos#but i think the clear difference between him and a man like diddy is that ones crimes are fictional while the others is very real#and we still are seeing the irl inpact on his victims
