2. Thank you for this blog. I am looking for a fic that I read a few years ago, focused on Lan Sizhui. I think the pairing was ZhuiLing or else it was focused on Lan Sizhui, Lan Jingyi, and Jin Ling in some combination. They were still cultivators, Lan Sizhui was a monster/tentacle monster/eldritch kind of creature when he wasn't in human form and the Lan clan helped keep this secret. I think it was because he was a Wen but I don't remember the exact explanatiom now. It was a bit long, as I think it had some chapters, and the juniors were still cultivators who went on night hunts and trained. I liked seeing how the slight change from the original universe was used. I've searched several ways in ao3 and have not been able to find it again yet. @mejomonster

Because once again I thought I had this fic bookmarked, but can't find it, and my Google-fu has failed too, so here goes: x number of years ago, Wei Ying and the Wen Remnants vanished from the Burial Mounds. Lan Zhan has never stopped searching for Wei Ying. There are strange rumors everywhere that WY & the others are in a resentment-filled no man's land (kind of like the void in the Shadow & Bone novel) where huge deadly monsters roam. Word is also that people who really need help have safely disappeared into this void. As time passes, rumors of strange cultivators suddenly appearing to aid people are also circulating. And I think Lan Zhan actually meets Xiao Xingchen in an inn at one point & it's clear he knows Wri Ying (he & Song Lan turn out to be Wei Ying's right-hand men). LZ does try to get into the void thing, but the energy is too strong & he barely makes it out of the area. After a number of years they get a message out of the blue, i think, from WY saying that the monsters are getting out, and WY ends up bringing the Wei Sect back to the cultivation world to help fight. Wei Ying will have nothing to say or do with Lan Zhan, at least to start, which Lan Zhan is devestated by. Um...and Lan Yuan is there, grown up & still the Best Boy ever. I think A-Yuan tirns out to be a Gusu Lan fanboy. Anyway, it turns out Wei Ying created a ghost path that allows the Wei Sect to safely use resentful energy. But you find out WY got too damaged back in the beginning and by the end they defeat the monsters but he's dying, so Lan Zhan gives Wei ying his golden core. I think LZ actually does the whole transfer himself in the Jingshi.

With wangxian children which he gave birth to. Ayuan is eldest,followed by girl who is half blind and last son who is quiet. Ayuan goes outside and falls into some troubles and all sects(jin,Jiang,lan,nie) were present there including jin zixuan and Jiang yanli with their son because they were chased by meng Yao. He wanted to kill all of them. Wangxian comes their to save Ayuan and they get saved in the process. They got some cursed so Ayuan request wangxian to let them stay in their house until their cursed is solved.they stay in their house and yanli tries to connect with wei wuxian but he doesn't. Wen Ning is also married. Also, wangxian are immortal. Wei ying form is crow which he uses to spy on his son for safety reasons. Also, lan xichen repents himself and tries to make amends and connect with the kids. Lan zhan is also trying to connect with his family. Also, that Jiang family is a bit#h (bitch), cheng verbally abuses wei wuxian at any chance he gets and yanli only knows to cry. Same with lan qiren,he is still the same. Nice mingjue is still alive but he also already got cursed. I don't know about lan zhan. I didn't read after because it was not completed.

I would swear I bookmarked this one but I can't find it anywhere!

It's a modern au where LWJ and WWX are college students. Iirc they are already in a relationship.

Iirc it opens with WWX and LWJ in a wrecked car which is possibly half hanging off a bridge - they'd been run off the road (though that's not established until later).

When the emergency services arrive, LWJ is taken to hospital but WWX is arrested for some bullshit reason - resisting arrest or something. Iirc the cops on the scene were Jin Zixun and Xue Yang.

There is worry from LWJ's family because they don't know what happened to WWX. Just that he was in the car and he should be in the hospital but isn't.

Later, WWX is in an interrogation room not making much sense because he's injured and hypothermic (it's winter and he was soaked through but he wasn't allowed to even dry off) then he gets left on his own.

I *think* he was tracked down by police (chief?) NMJ who got to WWX shortly before his heart stopped due to his injuries, the hypothermia, and the mistreatment while in custody.

That's all I can remember. Does this ring any bells for anyone? @greywake

14. Hi! This is for the fic finder. I'm looking for a fic where WWX takes A-Yuan and flees the Siege on burial mounts. He heads towards the ocean and meets XXC and SL, who travel in the same direction. He gives them a fake name and they eventually get to a seaside town where XXC and SL have a house that they offer WWX to stay in. I think in the last few chapters NHS found out he was there and WWX started to teach some town children (well, teenagers) so that the town has more protection and he doesn't have to use demonic cultivation.

I believe in the description of this fic the Wwx that comes back this world is a different one from the one who dies in that universe. Wei Wuxian is not strong, or at the very least his brute strength is not something he take prides in as much as his speed and flexibility, but those can only get you so far, and when going against stronger enemy, your mind is your trump card. Or, Wei Wuxian develop a time traveling array during the Sunshot Campaign in case everything went wrong but forgot about it after. It was during the Siege that people have disturb it along with Some other experimental talismans and truths was revealed a little to late.Wei Wuxian woke up in a world different from what he remembers.

What I remember is at some point Jin Guangyao did something to contradict his father I think so in punishment he was thrown to some abandoned mine. Lan bros, Nie Mingjue and Wei Wuxian were searching for him and WWX said he will use the spirits of the dead for the search. Others disagreed but he said that JGY doesn't have much time since it was really cold in the mine for someone without a good golden core. Anyway the only thing I really remember is that wwx tells lwj that the older disciples used to make him drink with them when he was younger, like he started young around 12 I think?

He mentioned to lwj that it took around two bottles of wine to get him drunk and that usually he didn’t have to drink that much around his year mates as they got passed out drunk pretty quickly.

I also remember lwj or someone telling him that his golden core had burned away the alcohol the entire time. Which had put it under some kind of strain I think?

Today it's been one year since I hit publish on the first chapter of the first Blue Neighbourhood fic.

I thought it was going to be three parts. I knew what I had to say.

I build back stories for everyone in my head. I knew what was going on in their lives because that's how I build characters and fics in my head, but as I wrote, I knew that the stories I had built for them deserved to be shared to.

This series poured out of me in a way that almost nothing does. I rarely fought these fics. They came naturally and completely and full of life on their own.

And I think it's because they were incredibly healing. Both to me and to so many of you.

I couldn't know on August 3rd of last year what they would do for me, but god, I am in tears thinking about it now.

I have written a terribly emotional author's note for the last chapter of the drabbles, so all I'll say here is...

First, Kido thought he was seeing things. Then, yellow? Was that a yellow post-it stuck to his computer?

Yoo, Kido-san, warning! The big boss is in full rage mode today, so unless you’ve got a death wish, steer clear! Trust me, it’s for your own safety, hehe~ Stay safe, hero!

That was the message Kitagawa-chan had left. On it, a ridiculous drawing of Endeavor looking like an angry, flaming buffalo—a droopy wiener doodled right on his face. 

He cracked up at that.

In front of the keyboard was a carton of milk. He had told her that was his favorite snack.

Kido almost had tears of joy in his eyes when he realized. It was a little gift! Kitagawa-chan…! he thought, amazed and grateful for the kindness. Anyone watching would wonder if the paper flowers circling around his head were real (they weren’t).

Beside him, Onima was having the time of his time, clutching his stomach. In one hand, he was holding a yellow post-it too — in the other, a pack of children’s hair ties and a drawing of himself with pigtails next to a kid, accompanied by none other than Endeavor himself. Hey, was that Hana-chan? Kido wondered, bursting out laughing too.

Onima was about to burst into laughter when he noticed the wiener doodled on Endeavor’s face on Kido’s post-it. He grabbed it with his own hands, laughing even harder.

“Why doesn’t she ever draw Burnin-san too?! She’s a strict boss who deserves limp balls on her face too!” Yeah, Kido was definitely still in the fifth grade.

“Haaaah, what did you say, you scum ass?!” Burnin yelled, offended. She had a post-it in one hand too. In the other, a bottle.

A second later, Shoto and Deku appeared practically in sync. Shoto had a post-it and thin paper in his hands; Deku did too, plus something else. What was it?

“Oh, did everyone get a post-it?” Kido snorted.

From there, everyone had a reaction: Shoto just nodded, Onima wiped a tear of laughter from the corner of his eye, and Deku confirmed it shyly, almost awkwardly—though a determined expression and smile slowly spread across his face.

Kido continued, “I got one and a carton of milk.”

“A pair of children’s hair ties and a ridiculous drawing. Unbelievable.”

“Hah, a bottle of wine!” Burnin bragged, and it didn’t take long. In seconds, Kido was already in a comical slap fight with her: What do you mean wine?! You better share that with the older folks!

Burnin mocked, “Over my dead body, you mummified corpse.”

“HEY!!!”

“I got a 50% discount coupon for cold soba dishes at nearby restaurants.” Then Shoto, looking somewhere between surprised and… happy?

“Oh, that’s nice, Shoto-kun!” Onima gave him a thumbs-up.

Shoto immediately glanced at the post-it Onima was holding.

Onima could swear Shoto's eye twitched. “Why does my old man have a penis drawn on his face?”

…like there was a slightest hint of a smirk threatening to break through. 

“Oh, well, see, Shoto-kun…”

Behind them, Kido and Burnin were still going at it, fists flying in all directions.

Deku was the only one left to say, staring at the post-it—and the other thing—in his hands, eyes shining with that determined look on his face.

After giving Shoto a less-than-plausible answer, Onima leaned in, pressing his shoulder against Deku’s, eyes narrowing playfully at what Deku was holding. 

A mischievous smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “Heeeeh, so besides the post-it, what else did you get, huh, Deku-kun~?”

That caught Kido and Burnin’s attention.

“Are you stupid? Of course, he’d get something—she’s his manager, dumbass” Burnin teased, then pointed at herself with a smug grin. “But the present I got is still the best. You guys can suck yourselves.”

Kido mocked her, ready to bicker again, but his curiosity won out.

Not so subtly, he stood on his tiptoes, trying to peek at the post-it Deku was holding between his fingers.

Yoooo, pretty boy! Good luck on the first taping of Training The Nexts today! I’m leaving Mini Mighty and Mini Fat with you for some extra support, okay? >.< take good care of them, they’re a precious good luck charm!!! Give it your best! ♡

Kido raised an eyebrow.

Mini Mighty and Mini Fat? The hell were those?

AND—WAIT, WAIT A MINUTE, THE FREAKING TRAINING THE NEXTS?! THE ANNUAL SHOW RUN BY JAPAN’S HERO UNIVERSITY?! FOR REAL?!

THAT DAMN DEKU! Barely back in Japan and already in the spotlight?!

Before Kido could say anything, Onima was there, ruffling Midoriya’s hair proudly, laughing heartily.

“You damn kid! You’re gonna be on a TV show already?!” By now, Deku’s hair was a complete mess. Even with a grimace, he was still smiling; maybe it was the warm reaction from his senpais that sparked some happiness in him, right? “We’ll have all the TVs on here to watch it! My Hana loves that show. She’s just a kid, but she’s already a huge hero fan. Not surprising, though—having a dad like me, how could she not be?”

"Oh, sure, sure, Onima," Burnin teased, making Onima shoot her an offended look—which she totally ignored. "I heard Lemillion’s going to be on it too, is that true, Deku-kun?"

Deku perked up, excitement radiating off him. “Yes! It’s true! I’m really excited to work with Lemillion-senpai! It’s going to be so much fun!” Then, suddenly, he shrank a little, looking a bit sheepish. “I’m actually a little nervous, though. You see... I’m not very good… at dealing with the media. Reporters and that kind of stuff. B-but I’m getting better! And this is a chance to show that! I’m glad Kitagawa-san has been helping me with it! Since, uh, today is the first episode recording of Training The Nexts, she…”

They could all see it clearly now: carefully held between Deku’s fingers was an All Might keychain in his classic blue and red costume. Back-to-back with him was Fat Gum in a fighting pose, his bright yellow contrasting sharply with orange. A collective murmur of surprise and admiration rippled through the group as they took in the tiny figures. Whoa…

"She, uh, she left this as a good-luck charm,” Deku said, his voice tinged with awe. “That’s what she gave me.” The shyness that had surrounded him moments before melted away, replaced by a wide, almost childlike excitement. “It’s a collector’s keychain! Kitagawa-san has so many amazing things like this! I-I can’t believe she trusted me with it! It’s so cool, so delicate, I’m kind of scared I’ll break it or lose it—but I’ll be careful! Really, I will! It’s just… whoa, I can’t believe she actually had one of these and—she just gave it to me!” He kept rambling, barely pausing for breath, eyes wide and shining as he spoke. He cradled the keychain gently, like it was the most precious thing in the world, afraid it might slip through his fingers at any moment.

Shoto’s lips curved into a subtle smile as he watched his friend. This was familiar—typical nerd Midoriya for him.

On the other side, Onima and Kido exchanged looks, wide grins spreading across their faces. They joined in, patting Deku on the back. Come on! They had to support their kohai!

“That’s awesome, Deku-kun! Training the Nexts, huh?” Kido praised him, messing up his curls even more. “You brat! Stealing the spotlight from us! You better make room for your senpais at the charity event next week, you hear?” he joked.

“D-don’t say that, Kido-san! I didn’t—”

“Oh, don’t listen to this idiot, Deku-kun. I heard the final challenge is going to be broadcast live from Mount Fuji! Give it your best, kid!” Burnin encouraged him, grinning widely.

“I will! I’m really excited for it!” Deku replied, nodding enthusiastically. “It’s all thanks to Kitagawa-san. She’s the one who arranged this! I owe her a lot… I’ll… I’ll do my best and make her efforts worth it!”

"You’ll do well, Midoriya-kun," Shoto said, a faint smile crossing his face as he gave his friend’s shoulder a reassuring pat. Deku’s face lit up. “I’m sure of it.”

“Thanks for the support, Shoto-kun. And you guys too!”

Everyone was all smiles until Kido, pretending to be clueless—failing miserably—squinted at the post-it in Deku’s hand. His expression shifted to one of playful mischief. “Yo, Deku, mind explaining why she’s calling you pretty boy?”

Awkward silence. Then awkward laughter.

“W-w-well, about that…”

BOOM!

A door flew off its hinges with the explosion—and from the space where it once stood, Dynamight emerged, all explosions and murder in his eyes.

In his hand, he seemed to have what looked like, oh, a yellow post-it and the tattered remains of a photo.

Some looked at the vein throbbing on his forehead; others at the shredded photo in his hand.

It was that photo from when Deku had beaten Dynamight in a sparring match three days ago. The photo showed Dynamight. Black eye. Massive bump on his head. Shoto and Burnin having the time of their lives in the background.

Kido and Onima gasped. Shoto’s eyes flicked to the broken frame, a faint sigh escaping him—another door, gone…

Deku? Deku looked like he was about to bolt. As always, he could sense when things were about to go south for him…

“DUMBASS DEKU, WHERE THE FUCK IS YOUR SHITTY MANAGER?!” Small explosions were popping from the explosive hero’s hands. “THAT FREAK! I’M GONNA SHOW YOU BOTH!”

“Kacchan!—Show what? Did you get a post-it too—?”

“YOU WON A DAMN REMATCH, DEKU.”

An explosion flared from Dynamight’s palm—and half a second later, the photo was nothing but ash.

“REMATCH. NOW, IZUKU.”

“But Kacchan! We have to— I have to—”

“NOW.”

Hah, this time he’d crush the damn nerd and leave him flat on the ground. Dynamight’s grin was wild, almost sinister. Murderous? Yeah, probably. Deku flinched. 

But isn’t a grin a type of smile too?

— VIVACE . . THE DISCOGRAPHY . . !

VIVACE is a fictional thirteen-member girl group formed by the survival show I-Doll, where seventy contestants competed for a chance to debut in a group under the company I-Teen Media. VIVACE is split into three active sub-units, but today, we’ll be talking about the main group’s music, which has captured the hearts of fans worldwide and solidified them as one of the best Kpop acts of the current generation. VIVACE has stated that they want their music to be reminiscent of the older generations in Kpop and music for girls all around the world to feel empowered by.

— 2019 - 2020 . . ORIGINS OF A SUPERSTAR . .

After the finale of I-Doll, I-Teen Media announced that VIVACE would debut in mid-September, leaving fans in anticipation of their upcoming debut. VIVACE officially debuted on September 17, 2019, with the self-titled mini album “VIVACE” consisting of five tracks, including the title track “Gee!”. VIVACE debuted with 63K album sales and Gee! charted #22 on the global charts within the first 24 hours. Gee!’s cute sound and second-gen influence attracted even more attention to the group, and by the end of the first week, both the title track and album topped the charts at #1.

With their debut a huge success, many waited for VIVACE’s first comeback, announced to be released in December of the same year. On December 12, 2019, their first single album, “QUEENDOM,” was released consisting of three tracks, including the title track, “Royalty.” Royalty captivated fans for its themes of self-love and upbeat lyrics but wasn’t enough to get it to more success than “Gee!” with Royalty charting #48 on global charts and QUEENDOM earning 15K album sales, a lot of netizens were saying VIVACE was one-hit wonders and would end up flopping after this comeback.

VIVACE would take a small break and focus on their sub-unit releases until they came back on July 5, 2020, with their second mini album, “SUMMER VACAY,” which consists of five tracks, counting the title track “Drunk In You”. Despite the low reception of “QUEENDOM”, SUMMER VACAY instantly trended for its catchy songs and fresh sound, which earned the album 98K album sales, and the entire album charted in the top ten on the global charts. SUMMER VACAY was known as the uprising of VIVACE and the start of their international stardom.

By their next comeback, VIVACE had become one of the biggest Kpop acts of 4th Gen, especially with all of the popularity their sub-units were getting. Their third mini album, “PAPARAZZI”, was released on October 24, 2020, with the album consisting of six tracks, including their breakout title track, “RUN”. RUN was a darker, more mature sound than what VIVACE usually did, but it ended up going viral just from the teasers alone, earning the album 283K sales and 8 million views in just the first 24 hours. Fresh off RUN's success, VIVACE released their first digital single, “Ladies Night”, on December 25, 2020, as a Christmas gift to fans. The song charted #2 on Melon and went #1 on global charts.

— 2021 - 2023 . . LIVIN’ IT LIKE A STAR . .

VIVACE took an almost year long hiatus as a group to further focus on sub-unit releases until they finally made a comeback with their first full album, “CELESTE”, on September 17, 2021. CELESTE is a two year anniversary album with thirteen tracks, including the title track, “YES, YOU”. CELESTE introduces a retro theme, which, despite not having done so before, fans say sounds authentically VIVACE. CELESTE sold 1.4 million copies, a huge jump from PAPARAZZI, after gaining an insane number of fans during the group’s hiatus. The entire album charted within the top 20, and the top 5 spots on the charts were all VIVACE. Fans refer to this era as the start of VIVACE’s prime.

With VIVACE releasing only CELESTE in 2021, fans went into 2022 hoping for a release sometime soon; they got their wish when VIVACE released their second full album, “MY IMPACT”, on April 19, 2022. MY IMPACT is an album consisting of 11 tracks along with the title track, “The Boys”, where VIVACE talks about their impact on the kpop industry and also empowers women not to let gender discrimination hold them back from their dreams. MY IMPACT sold almost 9 million copies, the most copies VIVACE has sold to this day, and most of the songs off the album charted within the top 10. MY IMPACT ended up being the most successful era they had so far with them winning Song Of The Year, Artist Of The Year, and almost winning Album Of The Year for 2022.

On November 13, 2022, VIVACE released their fourth mini album, “ALL I ASK”, consisting of six tracks, including the title track, “SAVE ME”. The album has a slower, elegant sound than some of their previous releases, earning the album 7 million album sales and the title track charting #3 in Korea and #9 internationally. ALL I ASK is known as one of VIVACE’s forgotten eras, a lot of fans even think VIVACE themselves don’t remember the album.

As a collaboration project with the Barbie Movie, VIVACE released “Barbie Girl”, their fifth mini album, on June 10, 2023. The album consists of five tracks, including their first English title track, “VALENTINE”. VIVACE promoted the album completely in the United States, and the album sold 7.8 million copies and charted #1 on iTunes. VALENTINE ended up being the end credits song, which attracted even more international fans to the group.

VIVACE’s most recent release, “1-800-LOVERGIRL”, is their second single album, released on December 29, 2023. It consists of three tracks, including the lead title track, “YOUNG LOVE.” 1-800-LOVERGIRL sold 6 million copies, and the title charted #2 on Korean charts and #5 on global charts. As of July 2024, VIVACE has not made any news on a comeback, including with any of their sub-units, leaving fans wondering when VIVACE will make a comeback.

Thanks for the ask!! :3 (asks are from this list) 2. Anything that you'd like to write but feel like you're unable to? Really solid case fics! I sometimes write things that are case fic lite, but whenever I try to sit down and write a legitimate one, it never seems to come together. That said, there are so many excellent case fic writers in the fandom that I don't feel like I'm missing out too much. 8. How slow is a slow burn?

When I'm writing it? Exceptionally slow lol. A while back, I started writing a DickTim one that has ended up spanning the course of the entire time they know each other in post-crisis canon, and then it keeps going for a bit of post-canon time as well. It's currently at 63k and maaaaybe a quarter written, at best. I have a problem 😂 30. Describe a fic that almost happened, but then it didn't.

How about a partially written dicktim fic that's been languishing in my WIP folder for years lol?

In a vaguely greek mythology setting, when Tim refuses to marry a warlord (Ra's), his people try to sacrifice Tim to a god who inhabits the tallest mountain in the area. No one knows much about the god, other than that he's rumored to demand human sacrifice. Except, because the god is Dick, it turns out that he's actually pretty against that and takes offense at the attempted sacrifice. While running away from a suddenly very angry god, Ra's' soldiers destroy the bridge that's the only way onto the mountain, so Tim has no way to leave as winter sets in. The rules of hospitality mean that the god has to treat Tim as a guest, but he's maybe not too opposed to that. After all, since he was abandoned by his worshipers centuries ago, it's been so lonely on the mountaintop...
