Going more into the Demon Patrol AU

Starting with:

Audrey Drew (originally Bethany Stein)

Age: 97

Parents: originally Henry and Linda Stein. Currently Joey Drew

Powers: shapeshifting, size shifting and elasticity

Background: She believes that she was born an adult and made in joeys lab.

In actuality, she was a 19 year old aspiring actress in 1946 who had just moved away from home to pursue an acting role on a small time movie to jumpstart her career.

Unbeknownst to her, the river near where they were shooting had been closed off due to toxic waste dumping making it incredibly dangerous (this fact was hidden from most of the crew by the producers and directors)

She fell in and when they pulled her out she was literally melting and near unconscious. So they assumed she was basically f••ked and ran off, leaving her to die.

But Joey found her and took her in, saving her from becoming a half conscious flesh blob monster.

But she had lost all her memories in the process and instead of taking her back home to possibly return these memories, Joey convinced her that HE was her dad and that she’s basically an artificial human he grew in his lab.

The incident made her immortal and appear to be permanently 19. But it also made her body unstable and prone to melting when stressed.

She’s very loyal to her “dad” and his biggest defender until a lotta his secrets and lies unravel.

Adam Arch

Age: 61

Family: son of Wilson Arch, grandson of the famous Nathan Arch, twin brother of Dudley Arch

Powers: flight, telepathy, breathing underwater and emits dangerous radiation

Background: his grandfather was a rich and famous businessman so he was born to wealth. His father, Wilson, did not wanna take up the family business, instead aspiring to become a sailor searching for mythical creatures.

He took his 10 year old twin boys on one of his expeditions to find a lovecraftian beast. They managed to find it and it didn’t go well.

Wilson survived with just an eye injury, but Dudley was seemingly dead from the incident and Adam was discovered barely alive.

The close proximity to the lovecraftian beast exposed Adam to cosmic radiation that SHOULDVE killed him, but didn’t. But it did make his body radioactive.

The doctors he was taken to didn’t know how to help him since they couldn’t touch him without death or injury. So Joey took him in and convinced the doctors to tell Wilson and Nathan that Adam died from his injuries.

Joey managed to save him and give him special gear to wear to contain the radiation and hide his unnatural deformities.

He told Adam that his dad had decided to have him stay with Joey permanently to continue to get medical treatment.

Adam grew to adulthood but it’s unknown if he’s aging past his 20s since the transformation makes him look completely inhuman.

He’s pretty laidback and accepting of weird s••t, but he’s also kinda weird himself due to the telepathy and spending like half his childhood in the mansion with Joey.

He actually knows about a lot of joeys secrets and lies but decided to act like he doesn’t cause he doesn’t have anything better to go to if he spills the tea and everything falls apart because of it.

Next one:

Isaac Connor (this aus version of the ink demon)

Age: 79

Parents: Thomas and Allison Connor

Powers: super strength, intangibility, near invulnerability and fear inducement (basically he can emit an aura that causes people in it to become extremely panicked. Doesn’t know about this power cause he’s never knowingly used it)

Background: born to a broadway actress and an ace mechanic in the late 40s, Isaac aspired to become a mechanic like his dad.

But his father did not want his son anywhere near the practice that’s f••ked up his life. Isaac pursued this career path anyways, straining his relationship with his dad, but still being close with his mom.

As happy as he was with his job, his true dream was to have a kid of his own. But he struggled to find the right partner to settle down with. He was starting to get somewhere with a woman named Alice and even thought she may be the one.

But soon after proposing to her, in 1978, he got into an accident during one of his gigs that crushed his body to near death.

The doctor knew he wouldn’t survive, so tried to let his parents see him before he died.

But Joey managed to steal him before his parents came and transferred his soul into the body of a dead artificial demon to save him. He was not at all happy about it but had nowhere else to go, being a 9 foot demon creature now.

So he stayed. But he is NOT taking it well.

He tends to be very rude and aggressive. Drinking despite not being able to get drunk (he’s hoping the placebo effect will make him feel drunk. Doesn’t work) and trying to add a swear into every sentence.

And Last one:

Bendy

Age: 14

Family: refers to Joey as “father” but was mostly raised by Audrey, Adam and Isaac

Powers: complicated

Background: Joey told him he rescued him from a dangerous facility that made him. This ain’t true but his true origins are a mystery for now.

Joey brought him to the mansion as a baby and requested the other 3 help raise him. They did and ended up being more present guardians in his life than Joey, especially Audrey and Isaac.

Unbeknownst to them til bendy turned 14, bendy is the vessel to an unknown being simply referred to as “the machine”.

Joey finally informed them of this after bendy accidentally turned into a being called “the beast” and attacked some people during an outing with Isaac to a nearby town that turned nasty.

Later, they discovered that all the souls the machine has consumed (the lost ones) over the years live inside of bendys mind and can possess bendy temporarily with his permission.

Only a few really do this but each one has a unique superpower that can be useful in certain situations.

Examples:

Sammy- can put everyone within a 20 foot radius to sleep with music

Scott- can drive like an absolute madman and never get into an accident

Constance- can make liquids explode

Bill- can fix anything that’s not alive

Brant- anyone who tries to tell him a lie will involuntarily tell him a secret instead

There’s more but those are some examples

Bendy is incredibly smart and very curious. He’s practicing his sleuthing skills in order to become a detective someday

she keeps on seeing boris around the studio and really wants to meet him but hasnt had a good excuse to (she also wants to test out her theory that all borises like to be pet like tom was)

i think that in the new cycles/iterations she should be able to figure out how to change peoples designs. like how the lost ones got more details in batdr as opposed to batim? maybe give searchers the ability to talk and all that. legs even. just to improve quality of life down there

idk what the hell happened at the end of the game but im gonna choose to ignore how it seems like she betrayed the ink demon after he trusts her because :(

yes hes still the ink demon even post game dont look at me. i. look, im taking this as a (BOOK ACCURATE) jekyll and hyde situation. same person, he just acts differently based on what society expects of him. but he didnt want to be a monster, he was forced to become one because thats what his creator (joey) thought of him as (like frankenstein!). he contains multitudes

so post game, i think he can finally start to slowly put down those walls and act as a middle ground between both extremes. he can heal, he can learn how to trust again.

that being said i think he should still be able to transform into ink demon form if he felt like it. as a treat.

i combed my hair for the week today while finishing the season and i have some thoughts on the matter.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY SEASON 4 UNDER THE CUT

the romance plotline was ass and wasnt in character AT ALL, i dont see it as a part of reality that exists, both for five and also lila.

lila is not that shallow of a woman or a mother to just do that, i think we all know that she cares a hell of a lot about her marriage with diego AS WELL AS HER FUCKING CHILDREN than to do something like that. even with her entire chaos personality and potentially using people, she would NOT go that far because her love for her family does not outweigh 7 years of no dick.

and five is quite literally one of the most intelligent characters in the series (it shouldve been him and dolores). nothing could ever convince me that he would fall in love with his BROTHER'S WIFE and feel no immediate remorse towards it, once again, 7 years or 7 fucking decades, please leave your complaints in my vacuum of "i dont give a fuck".

i actually liked ben and jennifer as characters interacting. if we take out the marigold and durango wimey shit, i wouldve loved to see them be in love and interact with each other as is. i think he deserves nice things. also since its literally been two years since i watched season 3 bc i watched it one, during a really shitty ongoing OCD episode and two, because i thought it was an "ok" season. (almost said bad, but we now know our standards were much much too low). there was also a point in which i thought that ben and jennifer were connected bc she came out of a giant squid (in which wtf), and ben has tentacle powers??? idk its odd to me too, don't worry.

reggie i hope you choke asshat, as well as you and your wife. at first i thought homegirl was a bootlicker but no i cant really call her that. she was fr like "well it was my death, you chose to bring me back fuck u hubby" erm yeah that was definitely something, viktor you shouldve killed him when you had the chance honey. also i blame reginald for that shit, he was the goddamn anomaly, not the entire umbrella academy???? at first i thought five blinking into the apocalypse all those years ago was the anomaly, but nooo we're gonna blame the abuse victims. *rolls eyes*

more about him um his entire "im gonna bring her back" shit was giving gendo ikari (for those of you who don't know, gendo ikari is an antagonist and key character in the anime neon genesis evangelion, in which he was a miserable fuck and loved his wife so much he killed the entire world to see her again, then that didnt even happen). him taking the shot on the ben and jennifer amalgamation which in the end triggered the cleanse???? that was weird to me. like him being an asshole wasn't weird, that's already been established, but their death and recombination just triggering an event that severe???? wild, still kinda confused.

the only way i could see raymond walking out on allison is if she really, and i mean REALLY fucked up. but given everything that she has done in the past, i think she learned her lesson. raymond would never, i wouldve preferred him to have died off-screen than to have walked out bc???? anyway moving tf on.

i enjoyed klaus a lot this season bc hes my favorite but also because a part of me enjoyed seeing a different, more "real" anxious side of him. (that i could relate to a bit more). after reading a few opinions and watching the deleted scene where he went to an AA meeting and finally actually admitted he was an alcoholic to himself......steve blackman wtf. was this the bad ending, did we all fuck up that bad in our choices that we got HERE????? im kissing him on the forehead, i cant believe the last time i saw klaus hargreeves on tv there were actual tears coming down his face im....im so sick y'all.

whoever decided to put all that vomit in the episode please dont do that again. i know you cant put warnings for literal barf on a tv show but as someone who suffered through the roaches of season 3, then had to take breaks watching the sick episode of this season bc emetophobia......ew. (the baby shark shit was funny as hell to me oopsie)

i actually kinda enjoyed jean and gene as characters, their dynamic was entertaining to me, but i wish i got to see more of their history, i especially found it a little weird how jean was holding gene's face in the episode that five and lila were in the meeting together.....i wanna know more.

erm i think the concept of the keepers was also interesting. like a little group of people who know they see some weird shit and find other folks, kinda neat.

the casual drop that one of the fives made the commission???? we're just gonna brush past that???? like it makes a fuck ton of sense bc its a collection of fives we're talking about but i just.....that was a shock to me, one in which i felt i had little time to recover from given it was the last fucking episode and everything that happened after that....happened.

i liked luther the most in this season methinks. i think i had to realize him being shitty in season 1 specifically was partially a trauma response, and he felt he still had to act how he was expected to. once again, fuck you reginald hargreeves, please kiss the darkest part of my black ass.

yeah lets all just ignore all the shit that happened and either let season 3 be the end where they all go their separate ways or even better, season 2 bc that shit was peak highkey.

so im not the biggest fan of s3 especially fives non arc but i had a thought? maybe five wanted to retire in part bc of where they were, hotel obsidian. all of them all together. hes even sleeping in the same room as 3 of his brothers.

like, not to push aside any other reasons why hed try and retire, but if his family was split up then maybe hed be trying harder to get out of that timeline.

if theyd had more than a week there then maybe five wouldve jumped back onto the 'gtfo asap' train with allison bc eventually everyones gonna fall into different routines. diego with stan, klaus with reg and the amish, viktor with harlan and luther with the sparrows. the second they start gravitating away from the hotel he probably wouldve freaked and started working to fix things (wouldve made for an interesting allison & five villain arc)

tbh the sparrows themselves wouldve broken five out of this line of thought eventually. i still think the sparrows and the kugelblitz shouldve been in separate seasons. the end of everything couldve been the ultimate apocalypse for a finale and the sparrows are perfect for setting up questions about the birth mothers, reginalds true intentions with the children, and refocusing on the hargreeves childhoods, specifically bens death or lack thereof. seeing the sparrows as kids wouldve been great too.

ps this isnt to say i think the writers wouldve gone this route, i just think this is a more logical thought process for five than 'no apocalypse no problem' or 'i killed people for this so i will not notice my siblings spiralling on purpose'

I don’t think there was anything wrong with Five wanting to retire. The past two seasons, he’s been fighting to avert the apocalypse so that the timeline wouldn’t be in danger of being destroyed, along with his siblings. So once there’s no apocalypse, I can understand Five’s desire to take a break. I can understand the writers’ line of thought for that. And it’s no surprise that what pulled him back in is when he discovered the kugelblitz - it’s an apocalypse of some form, and that’s always been his primary concern. So my problem with Five’s writing isn’t him wanting to relax, it’s a bit of the stuff that comes after - for example, Founder Five.

I do understand you about wanting the sparrows and kugelblitz to be in separate seasons. I know people wanted the sparrows to be more fleshed out more and they had a lot of potential. For me, I wasn’t surprised they were killed off quite early. There were too many characters and the writers couldn’t have balanced them properly. But the problem is I don’t know how they would make an entire season out of a kugelblitz without adding some other elements to it - and I suppose those elements for this season were the sparrows. But maybe it came at the expense of a lot of wasted opportunities…

I'm going to be honest. I hate Vanya. I'm sorry, I can't stand her.

I know that external circumstances caused her to go down the path she did, and I fully acknowledge that, but she's still a grown woman who shouldve been able to make her own decisions in regards of her family, even with Leonard/Harold butting in.

She almost killed her sister (not entirely her fault), but she still had the gall to say that her siblings would understand after (while thinking her sister was Dead). Which kind of rubbed me wrong.

Then, when Luther locked her in the room (which is fucked up on so many levels, I didn't like that at all, and I could go on a whole separate rant about how much Luther pissed me off), she still destroyed the entire house, killed pogo (who, also, pissed me off, but still, come on, he was basically Entirely under Reginald's control, just like Grace), p much disregarded?? The fact that her siblings were abused too?? And proceeded to cause the end of the world.

And honestly? I kinda hoped Allison would shoot her on the last episode.

The premise of her character is really interesting, and I Really hope she gets some good character development next season (which I'm about to watch) but uh. Yeah.

ive heard no one talk about this but remember in the first season of the umbrella academy where allison was driving to see vanya and like there were the voice overs of her rumors? like a bunch of them were about her daughter and stuff but theres was that one that just stood out to me and it went "i heard a rumor that you loved me"

i dont even know why it stood out to me like that, ive never been in love or anything like that but wanting someone to love you that badly and NEEDING that love is just a concept that they shouldve explored?? even if it wasnt with her ex husband, but if she did that with a boyfriend before or even multiple people in her life, maybe even just to make friends. i feel like its all about how she was raised by reginald, with no love from a parent, having him make her and her siblings all rival against each other to get approval from him. it fucked all of them up so that they barely even know what real love is

THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN KLAUS. he should have come back to life as he does, as is PART OF HIS POWERS, grabbed a gun that he knows how to use well - thank you vietnam - and he should have shot the bitch. but no. we didn’t even get that. vanya got klaus’s levitation and diego got klaus’s telekinesis and klaus got ??? a cowboy hat. which i mean looks good on him and he deserves it but it doesnt make up for *gestures at everything* and tbh even that was tainted because one of the siblings says “50$ if we leave him here” when klaus runs to grab the hat. seriously??!! SERIOUSLY??! it’s not funny, it’s just more of people not caring about klaus and thinking abandoning him is a fun joke to make ANYWAY. onto things you actually mentioned sdlkdsjf;ls i think the cult wasn’t pointless to his character necessarily, i think it did provide something, but it wasn’t used to its fullest extent. we got little things like klaus talking about it making him claustrophobic and making him feel like his skin is on fire, and his followers become something he cant escape even though he desperately wants too - it’s like having the ghosts all over again except he’s sober and these are live people who can touch him. but the show never actually out loud makes that comparison when they should have. i think it would have helped the cult thing seem less random. as for the dave thing.. i don’t think it was a lot of ‘nothing’ but again i think they could have definitely done more with it. it lets klaus see dave again, in a way, and it shows us more about both of them and the relationship they had. we learn more about dave, who he is, the kind of people he had around him and the environment he grew up in. it shows us that klaus and dave talked about all kinds of things, nothing was too mundane or unimportant. it shows us that three years after dave’s death klaus is still grieving and is still 100% in love. and it shows us that klaus isn’t always as selfish as people assume right alongside another hit to the face (oof unintentional wording) of just how much he loved dave. he wanted to save dave’s life so badly he made a fool of himself, put up with homophobia, took a hit to the face, and still kept trying to stop him from enlisting even though, per the last timeline, it would mean they’d never meet. klaus is willing to have dave never know him, is willing to handle that pain and heartbreak pretty much forever, as long as dave lives. my heart literally cannot handle it the possession thing. i haven’t stopped being angry and uncomfortable and disgusted by it since i saw it like 2 days ago now. that plot the writers really fucked up on it was a big thing for their relationship but not in any way that lead to growth or understanding or power control or ANYTHING. i love ben but i have so many fucking problems with him after watching s2 that i almost wanna take my love back tbh. the writers tried to make it seem like what ben was doing was okay - because he was angry and frustrated with klaus, because klaus wasn’t doing what he wanted, because klaus couldn’t stay sober, etc. like any of that makes possessing someone without their consent okay... or threatening to possess someone the moment their guard is down (leaving klaus paranoid and afraid to sleep).. or getting permission to possess someone and then refusing to leave (and its double garbage when diego encourages ben to continue possessing klaus. diego’s reason was gross and even if he hadnt given a reason he was still encouraging ben to not give klaus’s body back to him. which like.. im sure klaus can see and hear what’s going on. so he now is aware that his brother would rather have ben-wearing-klaus than actual klaus. the amount that would fucking hurt. a nyway) klaus never really got to talk about how it made him feel, not in any situation where anyone was listening. he never got to go off on ben for what he did, and what he was about to do, even though he had every right to. ben kind of knew how klaus felt about it but he showed very clearly that he didnt care. ben just did not fucking care about klaus this season. and it wasnt a ‘tough love’ thing like they tried to do in s1. it was just horrible and it hurt to watch. and i feel like s2 ben wouldnt have apologized to klaus even if he had been seriously confronted. we now know that klaus has this power. and we know that it can easily be abused by someone else. and i feel like that could tie into his ability to make the ghosts corporeal and such. it could definitely work as an interesting lead into exploring more of his many powers. and it could have worked as a way to bring ben and klaus closer without anyone getting hurt or violated. but.. for s2.. it wasnt used that way. it was used as a way to degrade and humiliate klaus. and they clearly wanted us to find it funny. it was one of the least funny things to happen all season. actually probably THE least funny thing. right along with nobody giving a shit when they thought klaus was having a seizure or OD-ing (both during their meeting with reginald and in the alley when they were supposed to meet up to use the briefcase five got from the handler), AND OF COURSE  nobody taking klaus seriously, paying attention to him, or caring about him (except for allison at some points) and ben finally going into the light at the end..  was kind of shoved in?? but i think what made it feel that way, for me at least, wasn’t so much the placement or timing of it but that it wasn’t really acknowledged afterwards?? it just.. happened, and we were all heartbroken, and on screen... nothing. it felt like a very sudden end to his storyline and yeah they could have done a little more to make it feel like a natural end for him thanks for the ask and sharing your thoughts on s2 with me~!! <3

still star crossed: UNPARALLELED, pretend relationship trope? enemies to friends to loves trope? having to get married for family but then falling in love??? the KING is her ex??? and WANTS her BACK?? BOY. truly the Pinnacle of drama, romance, and angst. everything a period drama should be. 100 stars

outlander: no FLAVOR to this at ALL. the only reason i even knew it was supposed to be a romance was bc people Told me and they Lied. cool concept but the Most Boring execution EVER. literally nothing fucking happens. theres no plot. jamies character can have some rights tho. 1 star for him only

doctor thorne: kind of bland but shot well with a happy ending AND no rape/violence/etc. which apparently is too much to ask for in period dramas. allison bries character shouldve been a lesbian. 3 stars

north and south: this had DRAMA and it was fun which is the whole point of period dramas. but then it got a little weird bc he confessed his love in the SECOND episode and then got mad when she wasnt into him...lmfao. still better than most of these tho. well acted and had some funny parts. also some sad parts. its one of the better ones. 4 stars

palm trees in the snow: this is my own fault for watching some romanticized spanish colonization bullshit but in my defense that trailer was SO misleading! anyways i HATE this movie. they got me SO bad. at least every girl in this was So pretty but the romances 🤢 i didnt realize what was happening until it was Already happening! 😭 white people truly, please stop making movies. and pay reparations. tw: rape/violence/racism the whole 9 yards with this one.
