-FLASHBACK FRIDAY- To the 25/07/2024: The Whizzer.
Tumblr media
Continuing my quest to draw various Marvel superheroes! Here's another one I drew way back in July and that's "The Whizzer".
Now If you thought DC's "The Flash" had a silly origin what with being struck by lightning and doused with chemicals. Then Marvel's the Whizzer might be more so.
After being bitten by a poisonous snake, Robert Frank was injected with a serum that contained mongoose blood (Mongoose's are the natural predator to Snakes see).
The Serum triggered Frank's latent Mutant abilities and gave him superhuman speed. Calling himself the "Whizzer", Frank was a costumed hero during the 1940s and joined the All-Winners squad alongside Captain America, Sub-Mariner and the Human Torch (Not Johnny Storm the Human Torch a different one).
More obscure Marvel characters coming real soon...

[insert number] day as an early third century warlord and due to a bizarre coincidence of homophones, two thousand years after your death, your language has evolved so that your name has become 1/2 of a swear word.

Date unknown - The Humanoid Torch.
Tumblr media
Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four may have been the Human Torch but he wasn't the first Superhero to have that Title.
The First Hero known as the Human Torch was born from Failure. Professor Phineas T. Horton was a Pioneer in the field of Artificial intelligence and built one of the worlds first Androids in 1939.
Unfortunately it burst into Flame when exposed to Oxygen.
In time the Android learned to control this Ability, took on the Identity of "Jim Hammond" and became a Crime fighter.
Later he would join the likes of Captain America, Bucky Barnes and Namor the Submariner to fight in the Second World war and after that founded the All-Winners Squad.
For our interpretation of the Human Torch, Since Jim is an Android I made him look Abit more Mechanical, more Robotic looking!
Jim Hammond/ The Human Torch is property of Marvel comics™ all rights reserved.

several hours down the "What If-" timeline tunnel later we have come to the conclusion that Lark is one of the few Tavs who cannot pull off the Wavemother dress- If not the color, I imagine it's two and a half feet too long for her and somehow still too tight around the bust and hips- Tripping on this magnificent gown like "Darling just give it to someone else, even Minsc could wear it better-"
