“Y/N, it’s the middle of the fucking night in Monaco? You better have a good ass reason too wake me up” Arthur groaned at his twin as he groggily.

“You won’t believe it.” She says

“What?”

“THE BENGALS INVITED ME TO THEIR GAME” she says, a sudden burst of excitement ran through her

“Who are the bengals again?” He sighs

“….”

“Oh wait, it’s that one dude you like, what was his name again Joe Burrow?”

“YEAH AND GET THIS, I can bring up to 5 people, so you’re coming and so are Charles, Alex, Lorenzo and Maman” she says excitedly.

“Who says I’m going?” He says, earning himself a scowl.

“You don’t want to come?” She says, “well I mean not really”

“Ofcourse you don’t! I always show up for your events and you never show up for mine” she says, maliciousness lacing her tone.

“Y/N please, this isn’t your event, you’re not walking the runway or attending a premiere” he says, his tone now matching hers.

“Well even if I was, not like you’d show up anyways” she mutters.

“What are you yapping about? You’re being so dramatic, I mean not everything revolves around you okay? Some of us have actual problems” he says giving the final blow.

The girl takes a deep breath to collect her self. All her life she had spent living in the shadows of her siblings. She just wanted someone to show up for her, she remembers her first runway show, she had 4 seats reserved for her family yet when she walked out, all 4 of those chairs were empty, why? Because Charles had a last minute deals with a brand. They called and apologized and Ofcourse she put a brave face on, but only the walls of her room heard the way she cried herself to sleep that night.

“You know what? I’m going to let that slide, I don’t know what’s going on with you but I hope you make peace with yourself, and you don’t have to come, I’ll just ask Charles and Enzo. But anyways goodnight” she says

“Y/N-” Arthur tries to interrupt but she hangs up before he can say anything.

Had she overreacted? She felt a sudden rush of guilt overcome her. She couldn’t help but overthink. Her train of thoughts were interrupted by a FaceTime call from her brother's girlfriend.

"Hey babygirl" Alexandra says, "Hey bae, what's up?" she says propping her phone up on the table.

“Just checking in with you and your man situation” Alex says, her and Charles were in the Maldives, “oh it’s good, I got invited to the bengals game so” she replies, “WAIT THATS SO GOOD” Alex says excitedly, Y/N smiles.

“Do you and Charles want to come with me?” She asks hopeful, “well Charles will be preparing for his race but I can definitely come!! When is it?” She asks, “next week!”

“Oh yeah I can definitely make it!” She says,

“Ok we can fly together!! But I I’ll see you next week love ya!” She says hanging up.

The week came even before she could blink.

“So Y/N you excited?” Alexandra says, and Y/N nods.

When they arrive at the stadium, Y/N is immediately greeted by the bengals team.

“Thankyou so much for being our guest, I’m the head coach Zac Taylor” a man says reaching his hand to which she smiles and accepts.

“This is my friend Alexandra!” She says as Alex also shakes his hand, from the corner of her eye, Y/N could feel a certain pair of blue eyes stare at her, and her cheek flushed more.

She waves to the rest of the team, however the man with blue eyes seems to approach her first. “Hey, my name is Joe, I’m the quarterback” he says extending his hand, “I’m going to be honest, I have no idea what that it” Y/N chuckles shaking his hand which caused him to smile.

“Well if you umm give me your number maybe some time could teach you about football” he says very smoothly, which causes her to get flustered.

“Oh yeah, d-definitely! Here” she says giving him her number as he smiles, “you have such a beautiful smile” Joe says bringing up her hand to his lips before letting it go, “I’ll talk to you later” he says waving before going to get ready for his game. She just stands there in shock wondering what happened.

Alexandra squeals, “I saw that!! Y/N he so likes you” she says hugging the girl.

Y/N laughs and shakes her head, but the whole time she couldn’t take her eyes of him.

writing in-between cuts!

after heading back to your dorm for the night, and many games of uno later (many, many games. toge is a sore loser), the time finally came for maki, toge and yuuta to head back to their rooms. it had already been decided earlier on in the night that the group would stay with you, considering you have no roommates, and the four of you have had countless sleepovers in the past. yuuji came up with a plan for tomorrow to go to the movies, and a collective sigh came from your friend group. "yuuji, we are not going to see the same movie you've already watched six times." nobara flicks the back of his head, leaning onto the couch. megumi makes a ‘tsk’ noise with his tongue, watching the pink-haired boy rub the flicked spot as if it hurt ten times more. "i don't think a movie is a bad idea, though" maki shrugs, walking beside her girlfriend. "maybe one none of us have seen." she snickers, trying not to make it obvious, yet definitely testing the waters on whether or not she can tease him about it. he simply sighs and leans back, rolling his eyes like a dramatic teenager. "fine, but you'll all regret it!" "....riiiiight"

toge eyes yuuta for what seemed like forever while the rest began to discuss sleeping arrangements, and it only causes more discourse in the poor boys head. out of the corner of your eye, you catch him waving to you and mouthing a small "goodnight" before slipping out the door. you sigh, wondering why he wouldn't come up to you personally and say goodbye for the night like everybody else did.

something is definitely up with him.

fun facts -> toge does know something yuuta doesn't know, he just wants to be a little shit about it. thats like, his brand. it's nothing super crazy, but remember when he was waiting outside the store with yuuji and megumi? yeah, yuuta doesn't.

Maybe he should’ve told you how he felt about you during your dinner before prom senior year. The words sat on the tip of his tongue, waiting to be spoken into existence. It was the perfect moment. You were each other’s dates anyway. 

But then he chickened out—he didn’t think he deserved you. And perhaps that was only slightly true: for letting you slip through his fingers numerous times? Absolutely. But for everything else? The universe couldn’t help but pity him, too. 

There was also the time that your ex boyfriend cheated on you and you came crying to him in the middle of the night. He woke up and stayed awake until early hours of the morning just to comfort you. It wasn’t because he felt bad, but because he would do any and everything for you. While you curled in on yourself, cuddled into the safety of his arms, he debated telling you then, too. 

Time and time again, Younghoon has sat there and watched as you dated different guys. He sucks it up and deals with it because he’s afraid of rejection, but he also doesn’t want to ruin your friendship. You’ve been best friends since middle school, and that made him afraid that you’d always only see him as that. There was that saying that girls and guys could never just be friends. Unfortunately, that was the case for him, but maybe not for you.

Now here you are, the day before your college graduation, and Younghoon is once again torn between mustering up the courage to confess and putting this puppy love to rest. 

He told himself during your first year of university if he didn’t tell you at all during these four years, he would give up. You were both preparing for true adulthood and if he couldn’t lay himself bare for the person closest to him, he didn’t think it was meant to be. And well, time is running out for him. He had to speak now, or forever hold his peace.

Younghoon watches as you scamper around your apartment, gathering your things for graduation tomorrow. It was a hectic enough day without you worrying if you were going to lose something, or run late. You hang your cap and gown on the coat hook near your front door before dashing back into your room to make sure your outfit is put together. 

Even in the chaos of your zooming around, Younghoon still finds you absolutely breathtaking. You’re slightly sweating from all of your movement and from the heat of the rapidly approaching summer, but nevertheless, you look so beautiful to him. The decision that seemed so hard to make over the years feels pointless. The answer has been clear from the beginning.

“Y/N.”

You pause what you’re doing to look over at him, wiping your forehead with the back of your hand. Your cute, caught-off-guard expression has him nearly melting into the couch. He doesn’t understand why it took him so long to get it together. 

Your eyebrows furrow in confusion when he starts walking towards you. “Wha— Is everything okay?”

“Everything’s fine,” he says, his frame towering over you in a way that is never intimidating, only comforting. “I have something I need to tell you, though.”

“Can it wait? I’m a little busy here.” Your hands come to rest on your hips and it takes all of the strength inside of Younghoon to not pull you into his embrace and kiss you. He thinks he would die, and he has to survive the duration of this confession if he wants to see the other side. (The side where, hopefully, you finally become his, in the way he’s wanted for years.)

“It can’t, actually,” he breathes, a newfound, unwavering confidence taking over. “I think I’ve waited for too long.”

“You’re kinda scaring me,” you laugh, scratching the back of your neck. “What is it, Hoon?”

Speak now or forever hold your damn peace, Kim Younghoon.

“Y/N, I love you,” he starts, and when you open your mouth to say you already know that, he continues. “And not in the way I’ve told you since we were eleven. I love you in the way that I can’t go to sleep at night without wondering if you’re sleeping comfortably, too. I can’t wake up in the morning without wondering if you did that cute, little whine that you do when your alarm goes off. I think about my future constantly, even though it’s fucking terrifying, and you’re always in it. Not just as my best friend or my partner in crime, but as my forever partner, too. I’ve felt this way about for god knows how long now, but I’ve always just been too afraid of what it would do to our friendship if you didn’t see me the same way. I don’t want to sit back and watch you date these other guys who end up hurting you anymore. I want to be the one you go to for everything.”

When he finishes, his chest is heaving a little, practically spieling without taking a moment for air. Despite the strength he collected to say all of that out loud, he was still nervous and looked away from you as he did it. He’s making eye contact now though, and he’s freaking the fuck out because he can’t read you one bit.

You aren’t saying anything, just staring at him with your lips parted, and he thinks that's tenfold more frightening than if you were to yell and slap him in the face. Each second that passes in complete silence has his hands clamming up and his heart racing faster. He realizes how close he’s standing to you and takes a step back, and then another, then another, until he’s grabbing his things and scrambling to get out of your apartment. 

You hate him. That has to be it. You see him as a brother more than anything else and he just ruined it all. 

But the moment he steps foot into the hallway, you’re calling after him desperately. 

“Younghoon, wait!”

Your voice, laced with emotion, has him halting in place. He turns around to see you standing in the threshold of your door, eyes welled with tears. He’s only ever seen you cry when you're sad, when you’re heartbroken, and he prays to whatever higher being exists that he didn’t do just that to you. (He tries to ignore how gorgeous you look even when crying.)

“I— You can’t just say all of that and run away!” You’re full on bawling now and it has his eyes widening. “You’re so stupid, you know that? I’ve been in love with you since we were thirteen and you lent me your hoodie inside of the movie theater when I said I was cold. You’ve always cared so deeply for me, so unconditionally. How could I not fall for you? You made it so hard not to.”

Younghoon is stunned. He had no idea you felt the same because you’ve been so good at hiding your feelings from him unless you chose to show him something. “Why did you date all those guys then?”

“To make you jealous, you idiot,” you sniffle, laughing at his obliviousness. “You’re such a guy; it’s endearing.”

He pouts at your low-key insult, but it doesn’t really upset him. In fact, he feels like he’s soaring right now. Your feelings are mutual and it’s as if all is well in the world. He closes the space between you once again, lifting his arm to swipe away your tears. You nuzzle into his palm instinctively and he’s sure he’s a puddle on the ground.

“Can— Can I kiss you?” He braves himself to ask, searching your features for any indication that you didn’t want this. You nod, your own hand covering his. The sparkle in your eyes is more than enough confirmation for him and so he leans in.

When your lips meet, Younghoon wonders if he did something heroic in a past life. He feels a pleasant buzz all the way to the tips of his fingers. It’s everything he’s dreamed of. 

You’re everything he’s dreamed of.

So since I’m still not over how good How I Attended and All Guys Mixer is I’m going to talk about one of my favorite aspects of it: how they go about immediately revealing just how Suo is invested in this flirting of hers. The cool, suave, confident person with a more withdrawn, nervous, ‘everyday’ type character is a combination thats been done to death with varying success. One of the things I require to get me invested in such a dynamic is the expansion of the suave one outside of just being “so good at everything they do and so good looking all the time.” And this manga gives it in spades from the get go.

First up: the day after the mixer when Tokiwa (the dejected guy to the far right) needed to share notes with Suo for the class. It’s such a simple thing but she positively *lights* up afterwards. It’s just a very cute moment that shows genuine investment without having to hear her say anything.  

Next up, the little moment of jealousy that occurs right after. I’m missing the panel before this of Suo spotting the girls interrogating Tokiwa from a distance, but once again the intent is perfectly clear. Also!! While Suo is jealous she isn’t like, a jackass about it- though she is dramatic for literally putting herself in between them you aren’t fucking subtle there no matter how smooth you made it seem. But the jealousy here works for me in part not only bc of the casual way in which it is handled but also bc it’s revealing that Suo is possibly just as insecure or as worried, she just expresses it far differently. And this is from chapter 2.

Also featuring Suo’s instant jealousy meter a few chapters later which I just find hilarious.

The second thing I think the manga does very well is how it handles Suo’s flirting? Suo is incredibly forward but not in a way that feels obnoxious to me? She isn’t pushy for Tokiwa to reciprocate her advances but she isn’t shy about making her feelings known either. (It also does a wonderful job showing why they both are and are not working on Tokiwa but that is another post). But take for example the point where in chapter 2, Suo is asked if she and Tokiwa are friends and this is her response.

Like. Wow okay you’re just gonna come out here and make it as a threat I see how it is. (unfortunately Tokiwa being Tokiwa he’s just surprised she sees him as a friend at all).

Another aspect of Suo’s flirting however is that a lot of it is seemingly tied up in her appearance. When she dresses more masculine she’s far more flirty, as the charming and elegant persona is one she plays for the customers at the bar and so it’s clear that she’s able to be more forward while masc presenting rather than the few times we see her fem presenting and being a lot more subdued. However even when we can see that aspects of her flirting are influenced by her job persona, we are shown explicitly that her interest in him is obvious even to those who know her work persona. Case and point the chapter where Tokiwa is strongarmed into getting omurice at the bar.

If Suo’s being obvious enough that even her coworkers have to comment on it then you know she’s laying it on **thick** even for her standards.

But the real kicker is seeing the cracks in that suave persona of hers. In general Suo is a very collected person, she keeps her cards close and doesn’t like appearing vulnerable to others around her, a lot of her genuine emotions are wrapped up in elaborate presentation (see above with her being flirty in general when masc presenting yet still honest). So what sells me on her interest in Tokiwa are the times where we see it break around him. First panel is right after he falls asleep in her lap and she gives him a light kiss (on the forehead i think??), and this is the first and only time we see her blush this deeply.

Second up is after she’s clearly dejected about not being able to  see the panda exhibit, but rather than focus on herself, she’s worried that Tokiwa picked up on her disappointment and was badly affected by it.

And then Tokiwa turns right around and proves her wrong by busting his ass to get her a gift and find a whole panda costume to do what he could to make her feel better (even after staying behind with her so that they would both miss the panda viewing). And Suo is so touched by it, you can see it in the quiet way the panel is drawn, rather than with the effects and embellishments that her more audacious maneuvers get. Also featuring another little blush from Suo.

And lastly the most explicit piece of them all, since it puts into words what was being implied this whole time.

Suo is *dead* serious here, and that alone is enough in turn to clue us in on how serious she is about Tokiwa. We knew that she had genuine investment in trying to woo him, this just gives us even more of that in her own words, and its absolutely wonderful. Enough to make my little aroace heart swoon and to get me more than invested in them as a couple down the line. Love these bitches.

let me tell you a shorter version of that story we started a world where we were gonna collect resources for a while, fight, and then fuck around for the rest of time. Anyways, here's the story so far:

-We spawn on a small island in the middle of nowhere, (white X on map) surrounded by sea serpents (very dangerous) -we make boats and hightail it. Youngest goes north, (green X) other two go southeast.

-Youngest ends up in a mushroom island (green X) and we end up crawling through a fuckass desert/savanna. -I find two villages. Lots of food. I almost die (bright red X) just before I get to the first. -We both find dragon skeletons, and dragon bones mean we are very stronk now. -youngest is fighting slimes and mining iron in a mushroom island.

-Black X and dark red X show the rest of my path. After this, I teleport everyone to the mushroom island and fight. -I win really good, but thats pretty irrelevant. -afterward, me and older fight sea serpents (for some reason. mostly fun.) and I get my ass kicked by one-shotting big fish several times. -We begin to settle down more. Older picks a spot in the mainland (blue X), and younger stays in the mushroom island. I just wander for a bit.

Now for the really interesting parts.

-I find a "new" continent (which I later discover is connected to the old) and settle my house (evil wizard tower still under construction, black O on map) on a mountain. I soon learned my house spot was so good a dragon had taken up a space ~260 blocks from it lol. Would kill that soon.

-Older followed, settling 400 blocks north of me (Blue O.)

-Younger went wayyy south on the desert for some reason. Not pictured, but farther than my farthest south, I believe. He would soon move to Older's place (built his house at Green O) so its not like it matters anyways lol.

-We begin to explore dimensions, start up on increasingly advanced stuff, and kill dragons. I'm pretty much the only one to have extensively explored the aether, and I plan on being the first to explore multiple less pleasant dimensions too. I kill the first dragon (remember the close by one?) and Older explores the Nether and Twilight Forest first. -Younger grows an enormous tree from a sapling from the Twilight Forest, is building a tree house (I call it a tree complex, there are several platforms strewn about the top.)

-I go into tech mods a bunch. Lately, I've coined a currency. In what, you ask? Well. You know those elements in the periodic table that don't exist in nature, so we create them ourselves? Basically, a mod adds platinum, but doesnt spawn platinum ore, so I found a way to alchemy the fuck out of the stuff (I am an evil wizard, after all,) to produce hundreds of ingots out of trace platinum dusts. I turn most of this into coins, but platinum does produce one alloy that makes the final tier of stuff in the mod that adds it.

-I built a vault defended by about 25 potato cannon turrets. This is the treasury, and it will be where I hold all platinum not yet put in circulation.

This hall leads up to it. And yes, the redstone lamps dramatically turn on one at a time. And yes, the door has a key code, even if it's easily breakable. Professionals have standards. In the back of the vault is the machine that produces coins. I currently have it working right now, it'll take a while to go through all that metal. Anyways, just look at all those potato cannons. Beautiful.

-I built a flying Ford F150. I call it my 2008 Ford F150 Seraph. It has four wings made of aerclouds from the Aether and is utterly majestic. I'll be strapping gun turrets to it soon enough.

Not only does it have 4 seats, a glovebox, and four glorious angelic wings, it has actual engines in the engine! And it actually does fly!

Yeah I can't really top the Ford F150 lmao. feel free to not answer this, I'm just not copying all of this over to discord so please respond about it there lmao

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

Fucker came into my life right after The Great Dam Yakuza Era and lemme tell you it was love at first smash trailer's bare tits. He's a also h. ... h. He's h.

Then it was like. if you actually stop and try to take tekken's story seriously and think about him for more than 5 seconds, you realize how much of a tragic figure he is, both in-universe and in a meta way. The first thing we know about him is that his father threw him off a cliff when he was fucking 5 YEARS OLD, his desire for revenge is justified as fuck. Then he becomes a neat subversion of the typical hero-type when he turns into a bigger villain than the one he defeated, but pre-retcon, its the result of a deal he made with the devil because of the fact that his father threw him off that damn cliff and he was about to die, so its unclear just how evil on his own he was because he HAS been altered in some way by an external force (which is still kinda true post-retcon with the devil gene), and that tragedy comes from that grey area, from the "What Could Have Been?". Its not made any better by the fact that this forever unsolved question is supported by the entire character of jun (and angel), theres the tease that THERE IS something to save in kazuya, but that failed. More tragedy. And his T2 theme, "emotionless passion", is a beautiful piece of music thats just dripping with melancholy. Then he becomes tragic in a more meta way, as it becomes obvious with each new installment that hes a very tricky character to handle so he is always relegated to the bench, never the focus, he has to make way for new characters to grab the players' attention, new relatives. He's sooo interesting and secretly complex and his hair is so stupid

He's also hot and handsome as fuck.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

I LOVE THAT HE SMILES A LOT yeah I know its more of an evil smirk but idk its charming. I also love how he flashes his red eye for dramatic moments, making good use of that cool edgy heterochromia. The whole sneakers collection thing is fucking peak, this is how you humanize a character, I am SO glad they brought it back. The whole sequence of him finally killing heihachi in T7 was the best fucking part of this game. He canonically pays a robot 25$ a month.

Journal into the void:

Im worried. He and I both don’t seem fond of cleaning up messes, even casual ones made. And he has repeatedly referenced how once They and I move in with Him, it’ll be like having two ‘good little maids/service subs’.

I don’t mind tidying up every once in a while.

But I also know that when a task or chore is expected of me, I’m less likely to do it, and have in the past forced compromises that favor me.

With dishes, I take my meals away from the group to wind down and be unmasked 100%, giggling and laughing to my hearts content. And when I’m done eating, I set my plates by my bed. They usually stack up. And when the stack gets big enough I take it all downstairs and put it in the dish washer. But I’m not the one who empties the dishwasher or who puts the soap in there and turns it on.

With clothes, I have a pile system. Things I wear daily, especially pants (since they don’t collect sweat like shirts) that i like to wear every day go in one place, things I have worn that aren’t smelly yet go nearby in a different pile, and things that I sweat in or get something on go in the hamper. After about 1.5 weeks, or if the floor where my piles are gets too crowded, I’ll ‘inventory’ all the piles, move anything that needs washing to the laundry, take it to the washer and load the first load. If I’m home alone for the next several days, I’ll resign myself to sitting within earshot so I can swap out everything in as few trips as possible. I only ever sort it out into clothing type too, leaving me with a pile of shirts I either end up hanging up immediately or never at all that sit outside my closet. They’re their own pile so I know They’re clean.

With the floors, I hate vacuuming my room as it makes it smell afterwards, even with all the odor removers and fans, it brings up all the musk and stays for at least a day and a half, if not longer. The most I’ll do is the occasional ‘hair summoning’ ritual as my friends joke. I rub my hands in circles on my carpet to collect as much hair as possible. But thats only when i start to feel lots of it with my feet.

The problem is that in such a small space, pile systems like mine don’t work, and neither does putting off cleaning. I’m nervous to tell Him this, but I /REALLY/ wanna throw out His faux leather couch and the little bit of carpet He has. The faux leather is degrading all over (He jokes that its giving couch herpes to everyone), and the carpet was soaked in urine recently. With the fact that His floors aren’t sealed like tile or laminate, I’m worried that repeated pup accidents are going to rot the only thing between our feet and the undercarriage of the three wheel.

He always praises and thanks both Them and I when we make the bed before leaving, but this most recent time, when they straitened it and They didn’t immediately go to Their apartment, He didn’t thank Them. I know its not a big deal, but I’m worried. I don’t know how moving three people into a space will affect us, but moving three people into a space thats only really designed to fit a couple and two guests? We don’t all fit on the bed, at least, we technically do but I feel like I always end up nearly falling off due to my inability to establish a physical boundary between us each night. I know already in my heart that I wouldn’t be likely to get any good rest if all three of us moved in there right this second. On top of that, the place with the other two beds is unairconditioned, and I have always slept in cool, bordering on cold, rooms. And finally, His two corgis seem to up the dramatics any time either They or I come to visit, often waking one of us up just because. In addition, the corgis both shed a lot, coating nearly any and all fabrics in a thick layer of fur. Now, I’ve lived with dogs my whole life, so I know they shed and have gotten used to fur occasionally on my clothes, but at His place, its to the point where it becomes like a barrier, slipping my shoes on and off becomes dangerously easy when the interior of the shoe and the socks I wear are drenched in slippery soft fur. And growing up with dogs, you also get used to the occasional scratch, at which point you know its time to clip and file their nails. Problem is, with the corgis, this task goes from a one person job of maybe 30-45 minutes per dog, to a two or even three person job of anywhere from 45 minutes to over an hour. And I can’t feasibly ask Him to help me clip His dog’s nails during the work week, but during the weekend neither of us want to do anything stressful, i.e. the corgis nails. Its become a bit of a problem. And I get that after a week of sitting at the same desk, staring at the same 4-6 walls anyone would want to get out there and party, I really do. But … shouldn’t there be balance?

The thing is, I don’t get the feeling that He or They see any of these things as a problem that would keep us from moving forward with all of us moving in. I’ve tried bringing it up with both of them, but they both seem to not find it to be a deal breaker.

Am I being too picky? Are these kinds of assumptions normal for new roommates to have for each other? I was always under the impression that roommates split the chores, and would take other’s concerns seriously? Am I too sheltered to have a clear veiw? I know if I asked either of them that question, they’d both say yes without hesitation, but… does that make it true? I know I’ve been sheltered and had decent and amazing roommates who are always happy to form routines to accommodate me and pick up my slack. But does that mean that I should allow people who say they are my partners to dismiss my concerns, even if they are unfounded?

And then theres the headache of how the fuck we’ll do financials.😓 I thought the offer was “come live with me in my third wheeler, grow a business beside me and see the world!” Not… not “come be my live in maid who also has to get a career that has promotable options while also being remote and paying rent”

I feel bad for ever expecting something for free but… I also feel like our ways of life just wont mesh well. Its only been 13 weeks, a little over two months since we met. And yes, everything is WONDERFUL, but its also moving too fast. I just… I’m scared. I’m scared of starting to commit again and being left, shattered and hollow and a fragment of what I was before. I’m scared that I’ll be too scared to tell them that I’m not happy preferring to tough it out rather than let them know that I’m flaking away. That who I am is being crushed by so much doubt and anxiety that I’m becoming a numb and hollow shell. I’m terrified that these two incredible people whom I love will be thriving while I am struggling to keep up, struggling to keep my head above the waves, struggling to smile and enjoy myself all because they want to keep moving at this same fast pace.

I’m terrified that the two people I’ve grown to love will realize that my roots run too deep for me to be as unaffected by moving as they are.

I’m terrified that they are two tumble weeds, bouncing and exploring life as they were made to and I am the potted plant who tries to follow, only to hurt myself and them in the process.

Its only been 13 weeks, and I know already that to slow down in the pace of our interactions would kill me, as just the thought itself brings me to tears as I write this.

I’m terrified. I love them and I’m terrified.

But to speak the words aloud is to give voice to them, to give life to them.

So do I speak and quake in the knowledge that my words will wound and unsettle them, or do I keep silent, and face these terrors on my own.

I saw main tera hero once again....I'm telling the embarrassment, the cringe, THE OVERACTING 😮‍💨 ok yeah ik it is a rom-com, even if they did exaggerate, it is to emphasise the funniness idk whtv BUT GODDAMN HIS ACTING DID NOT DO IT FOR ME how did I even like it? 😭😭 YK it is a remake from a South Indian movie, which was waaaayyyyy better thn this. There was no cringey acting like his. And since his father is like a pretty big director and has always worked with Govinda, for the most of his career I think when it comes to Varun he tries to incl. Tht little aspect of Govinda in him. Like I've seen it so many times AND even with the coolie no 1 remake 😭 boi i did not even bother to watch it further thn the train scene.

BUUTTT guess what I'm excited about?? Satyaprem ki katha!!!! Karthik on fire again. I watched the trailer, it looked pretty decent and ig it will slightly touch in a topic. I'm up for it. It's Karthik and Kiara. Also there's another movie tht just released called....what's it called? Wait- oh yes Zara hatke Zara bachke. I'm not sure abt tht one but the song....has me in a deadlock. this is my first sirius fic pls be kind !

synopsis -> sirius shows you his collection of odd sentimental items :)

the dimly lit common room felt more peaceful tonight than most other nights, most of the other gryffindors were already delicately tucked in for the night.

typically the marauders, mainly james and sirius, wouldve kept the whole house up. however, tomorrow called for james— early quidditch practice, whilst sirius found himself boredly keeping you company.

he would let out an exaggerated sigh every couple of minutes, trying to get your attention, which had failed till just about now.

"sirius, youre driving me bloody insane. what do you want?"

your eyes barely left the fire to glare at him, only to see him stand up and wander off. though odd, sirius was always odd. therefore you did not bother to call after him, nor even look fully his way.

your eyes returned to the fire, until the cushion beside you weighed down once more. finally your head turned his way.

"darling, look through these with me will you?"

his petnames had always pissed you off when you were younger, you'd always had a large crush on him. that was until the two of you had drunkenly shared an evening together, and things changed.

youd never officially started dating, you were both too frightened to truly commit to anything.

you sighed, finally shuffling to sit facing him on the couch. in his lap rested a box of random junk, some records, some photos, even an old beer bottle.

"whats all this, pads?" you hummed delicately sliding your fingers over the rim of the box.

"you'll see."

he dug his hand into the box pulling out the old beer bottle, dawning a look of faux wonder as his eyes met yours.

"you remember this ol' thing?"

your eyes traced the bottle, shrugging, "sirius thats an old beer bottle, you expect me to remember all the beer we've drunk?"

"well tred carefully, love, you surely dont remember the first time we drank, together?"

"the.. uhm.. you kept that?" you raised your hand, taking the bottle from his hand and scanning it.

"duh, youre holding it." he had already moved on by now, "or the first queen album i convinced reg to listen to."

youd remembered that, hed been so excited to share the group with regulus, even though regulus hadnt expressed much excitement.

he went on with the items, swiftly describing every item as he did. the cutest of all was the idea that he held onto things from all his friends.

a guitar pic from marlene, something mary had 'thrifted him'— even though he had no recollection of what that meant— photos of them all.

he wasn't necessarily sentimental, however he felt it was rude to throw away things that could mean something to someone else.

he'd never ever thought the bottle you'd both shared was important, but a fraction of him believed you would have kept it had you had any less to drink.

you listened through it all, though your eyes stayed loosily trained on the bottle, you'd thought he'd forgotten. however, he was rather quick to catch on.

"d'you think i forgot?"

"honestly, yes."

he gave you a smile, his brow raising dramatically, "you take me as a fool then?"

"a fool? i dont think i said all that."

"oh you've totally ruined me, a fool!" he faked yet another pout, throwing himself back on the common room couch.

you groaned at him, quickly jumping to your own defense, "listen, im not calling you a fool, i just—"

"i know what you meant, dear." his look went back to you once again, not bothering to sit up. "only a dimwitted fool would've forgotten. im just the fool who was too scared to make it more."

"you the fool!" you laughed, it only caused a wince as he misinterpreted your demenor, "we're both the fools, sirius. we've been out here passed bed and not one of us has even begun to entertain the idea of being together."

"perhaps were both fools." he gave you a michevious grin, "fools in love."

"dont even try, black, that was awful."

"dreadful even?"

"definetly dreadful."

he grinned, leaning closer to you, as if to plead for a midnight kiss. but in turn, you stood up grinning at him, "goodnight, love, i'll see you in the morning."

"y/n!", he whined at you, but you simply continued. midnight talks turned out to be rather nice, especially when they washed away the fear you'd once had.
