i cannot express how much i adore the dinner scene in 1x01. i think about it constantly. theres so much covert queercoding for mike that it literally drives me crazy.

the fact that just a bit before this we have the scene with joyce and hop where they imply that they are scared that will has been a victim of a gay hate crime. and throughout the season its implied over and over and no one really seems to give a shit. not even lucas and dustin. they care about will DEEPLY ofc but the fact that most ppl are expecting him to be dead and killed bc hes gay doesnt seem to bother them? the scene where troy is bullshitting about will in the gym they both just stand there, they dont make any move to stop him or call him out. no one does (this isnt me calling lucas and dustin bad ppl or not allys or wtv but u get the point).

in the dinner scene mike is clearly distressed about his friend. which is a perfectly heterosexual thing to do. in general. however hes not straight so its gay when he does it. ANYWAYS. he is clearly distressed about it but his entire family is completely unconcerned. nancy is preoccupied and doesnt give a shit. hollys a baby. ted is well ted. and karen. i need to talk about karen for a sec.

karen ADRESSES that she thinks something bad happened to will by telling nancy she cant go to barbs house until will is found. however she acts very dismissive of wills situation in general. im sure she was worried for him but she does it (or at least expresses it) is a very passive way. she is not focused on will being missing or what may have happened to him, just the fact that something bad happened in general to a person in hawkins.

the fact is, besides mike, karen is the only one worried at all. and shes not even close to matching mikes energy in the slightest.

when mike mentions steve, the conversation is totally derailed from will. as if it wasnt an important conversation in the first place.

line. and what a line it is. due to all of the references prior to this and the fact that most ppl believe that somehting bad happened to will. its not hard to see that ted is once again referring to will being hate crimed.

so when i was around 10-12 there was this girl named A who bullied me relentlessly in school but outside of class we would actually hang out and i would go over her house a lot for "popular girl lessons". basically she told me she could teach me how to be cool and not hated at my school. it was something i 100% bought into and at first she used to just like, do really shitty cartwheels (she was not a cheerleader. our school did not do programs like that for us.) and say how if i wanted to be popular i had to do all these very Disney esque things like use makeup and look strong. anyways she'd make me watch like, austin and ally and stuff and she'd teach me how they talked and if i talked like that i'd be cool.

so anyways before this we already had a very bizzare on and off friendship, consisting of me texting her "fuk u" on a flip phone, her throwing me out bc my jeans rubbed on the side of the chair to make a fart noise, and me accidentally breaking a "heirloom mirror" (it was not an heirloom. her mom told me she straight up lied about it being her dead grandmoms.) but one day over her house she pulled me to her basement and she was like, you need to keep a secret op. and im like what? what is it A? and she was like zayn malik from one direction is my brother and they visit my house but they can only stay in the basement

2. he imposed ludicrious tax of his civillians (namely niki. we dont know if he did that to Every Business like w fundy or if he targeted niki specifically bc of her closeness to the ex-president, but neither is good)

3. exiled those who he saw as political opponents to keep his power

4. straight up ignored his cabinet a lot of the time to make his own decisions (such as destroying the white house, which led to quackity leaving)

5. was widely hated by all the citizens. literally at one point all the ppl left in manburg was schlatt and jack manifold (who was MIA on the server and left to found Manifold Land when he came back)

6. held a public execution, AGAIN without the consent or knowledge of his cabinet (IF I REMEMBER RIGHT. i know big q opposed the execution at minimum, but idk for sure if he knew it was planned at all before the festival)

7. was basically at war his entire presidency thanks to pogtopia's existence

and thats just what i can think of rn! the reasons i like c!schlatt are fully based around him as a character and HIS personal development, not around his policies or actions. especially when compared to the other two presidents, who either won or prevented a war and kept the majority of its citizens happier and healthier than Manburg, he's.... probably the worst president they had tbh

BUT since you gave me an excuse to ramble abt him anyway, i wanna go on abt what i DO like abt him (under a cut bc this post is already kinda long oops) but

tldr; i like schlatt bc of his relationships with others, his flaws and pitiable moments, and how he is a fantastic parallel/foil to the characters around him

I like his complex (and yes, abusive) relationship with quackity, especially after his death and quackity's feelings flipping rapidly between hating him and missing him. but before that they did have a honeymoon-esque period-- at least from quackity's view.

watching their date you get the idea schlatt mightve never really been interested in him and mightve just been using quackity's interest in him for his own advancement! but we dont know.

maybe he did truly love quackity in his own fucked up way in the end, even if he wasnt a good person. maybe he regrets his actions and cruelty. or maybe he doesnt.

in the end they were (like the animatic i linked said) "built from the same dirt", they're both incredibly ambitious and prideful people and parallel each other a LOT (see: q's need for power, his want to execute ranboo paralleling tubbos execution, etc). they're not good for one another, but i love seeing just how they fall apart together (i hope you die, i hope we both die kind of beat)

and.... god his relationship and impact w fundy i could ramble abt all day dude. fundy kept schlatt's sword after his death and calls it an heirloom. we dont know 100% how old fundy was when wilbur was exiled (i mena... he ran for president but current fundy is like 20something and tommy ALSO ran as vp at 16) but we can assume he was a late teen. his own father was gone, but schlatt... seemed to CARE. he showed him affection.

fundy's never truly felt like hes BELONGED anywhere (even the country his father said was all for him, he felt ostracized and made different by his fathers doting babying) and because of that hes always looking for a group to be a part of. hes a people pleaser (its part of why hes so easy for big q to get for las nevadas).

and schlatt GIVES him that feeling of belonging he deserves. hes a spy the entire time, yes, but he becomes conflicted about it as time goes on.

could schlatt just be using fundy and filling his head with empty praise? sure, i couldnt fault you at all for that interpretation, its perfectly valid. BUT, i dont think so. he seemed genuinely shocked to see fundy oppose him on nov 16th. remember, he didnt know fundy was a spy.

in that moment he realizes just HOW alone he is and always has been. and its a tragic moment: the last person he had, the person he himself mightve truly CARED about left him just like everyone else. he was alone, truly and fully. even his allies were only there out of obligation and bc of him paying.

he knows his health has been failing him. he cant even swim due to muscular issues but he refuses see a doctor about it because he refuses to let himself be seen as weak.

hell, one could argue that issue leads to his abraisive and abusive behavoir in relationships: he refuses to let himself be true and genuine to anyone, there always has to be a wall and a proud perfect persona. its part of why hes a great villain both in narrative and to watch as a casual fan: just like c!wilbur, he's playing an act.

hes a foil and a parallel to wilbur. both are men who hide their true selves behind a certain role or persona they feel they have to play while they hide their crumbling health (schlatt's more physical and wilbur's more mental). both experience their rise and fall. but wilbur isnt despised, even if he thinks he is, while schlatt isnt truly loved by anyone, even if he thinks he is.

most of all, their deaths couldnt be more different. wilbur went out with a bang. a large dramatic scene fit for a storybook, with a long monologue and cinematic final blow ALL made to fit how he saw himself in a story and simply filling a required roll. but schlatts death is practically overlooked (especially in comparison to wilburs death and everything else that happened that day).

he built his entire persona about being this massive, larger than life powerful guy but he died small, weak, and frail to his own failing body. its... pitiful, honestly. it doesnt feel fitting, it feels wrong. his life up that point demanded drama, but his death was nothing more than... an accident, almost. unintentional. clumsy. its fucking brilliant.

When reading this I was at a loss of words ! I wasn’t expecting a lot of people to find my page let alone find Sora interesting ! SO I RLLY APPRECIATE THIS.

For starters, Sorano is close to Nozel. They aren’t the best of friends but they’re close enough to be honest with each other. Additionally since Sorano inherited Acier’s steel attribute, Nozel wanted to train her since he had a better grasp of how it worked than she did at the time. In the flashback of Acier talking to Nozel about protecting his siblings, I hc that Sorano was standing at his side and promised her that she’d do it. Adding onto the fact that Sorano was only 3 years old when acier died, Nozel trained her himself the moment she was of age. So during that time, she got close to Nozel. Believe it or not, these two don’t agree on everything. An example of this being, Nozel’s ‘resentment’ towards Noelle. She finds this disturbing as Noelle is family. I’d go into more but it’s going into spoiler territory and I don’t want to spoil anyone as to why Acier was even cursed in the first place.

HAHAHA yes ! Both Nozel and solid are trying but don’t worry, she eventually gets them to stop. As for Nebra, Sorano does not enjoy getting forced into things however Nebra will convince her to go out every now and then and when the two do, most men will approach. And depending on who they are, it can go one or more ways. I won’t go into detail but I’ll say this, Nebra is indeed protective.

Sora is definitely soft spoken ! She’s not as serious as Nozel but she is stern. Most people outside of the silver eagles and the maids and butlers of the Silva family don’t see that side of her as, most people listen to her. She gives out constructive criticism with the permission of others but will call someone out if they’re out of line or if they’re being jerks.

Her attitude does change in battle however. During the elf invasion arc, she does get taken over by an elf, which leads to Nozel and Noelle having the face her. On the battle field, Sorano is considered a great ally but a strong opponent as her magic can go on the offensive and defensive, she becomes more strict and strong willed, while also getting straight to point. Her will to protect outshines her will to keep fighting. Going back to the elves invasion, sora ends up going back to normal without the help of Asta, as the promise she made to her mother years ago caused her to fight back.

AHH YEAH SHE DOES AND ITS BC HER SIBLINGS THINK SHE’S SIDING WITH NOELLE. Noelle and Sora’s relationship definitely started out as rocky. In the beginning of black clover, Noelle would describe Sora as, “both a follower and reliable,” what I mean by that is, sora did not dare to stand up to Nozel, especially after the first couple times she did. With just his aura alone and the fact that he’s ten times stronger than her, Sorano backed off multiple times, only to run to comfort Noelle. She stopped his of course because, she didn’t want to shelter and baby Noelle her entire childhood(and bc of character development) Sorano would find herself running to Nozel or solids side while looking away from Noelle. Now this all changes when it’s Nebra and Solid. She can stand up to the both of them and lets Noelle vent to her or cry on her when she needs it. In episode 166, Sorano can be seen worrying from a distant while Noelle struggles with Vanica. Unfortunately Sorano can’t help her since she has her own injuries to deal with so she just sits there and watches. Thankfully Noelle manages to power through but Sorano collapses from her injuries. Asta once asked Noelle about her feelings towards her older siblings, to which the youngest Silva answered,

“They’re…Fine i guess. Nozel, Nebra and solid are intimidating and they gas light me for everything…so I guess there’s that…but…Sora…she’s different. I don’t know what it is about her but…growing up…sometimes she was the only one that was there for me…she taught me a lot you could say but then…there were other times where she just completely gave up.”

I am trying to get the hang of posting on tumblr so please bare with me !

Sorano is Noelle second elder sister and the twin sister of solid. She was born with Acier’s Steel mana and is quite strong with her spells being quite similar to her mothers. She did not inherit her mothers amour but she did inherit her magic affinity. She is a third class senior magic knight within the silver eagles and is sought out by many of her squad mates and people from other squads. Despite being well liked, she’s never landed herself a significant other. Why ? Simple. Anyone that’s interested has to get through Nozel and solid.

She’s 18 years old and is older than solid by ten minutes yet, many people mistake her to be the younger twin. Sorano is well known for her personality. Which has earned her the nickname “the nicer version of Nozel” And she can’t argue with them about it, cause she knows it’s true.

During her childhood, she practically raised herself with the “help” of nozel. Sorano tried to help Noelle and there were times she’d step in to stop the torment but anytime she did it would get turned onto her. Sorano learned the hard way to not get in the way of Nozel so during the ceremonies reception when Asta pops off on the captains and Nozel decides to get involved, Sorano departed from solids side and basically cowards behind Nozel because he made it Crystal clear that anything she does will be in vain.

I. HISTORY

born and raised in a small town in virginia, jack ernest hall was the eldest child of samuel hall, a professor at the local community college, and melissa hall, an elementary school teacher

always athletic and adventurous, he hardly spent any time indoors. his best friend was the family border collie, athena

when jack was 8, his mother gave birth to his little siblings, twins named michael and sarah

his family was one of the less wealthy in the town, but jack compensated for this by being generally well liked

he had a knack for football, taking on the role of quarterback with poise. he was a natural leader on and off the field

DEATH TW tragedy struck the halls, and the town as a whole, when jack’s mother was shot in a hostage situation at the bank. he was just 13 at the time and the shooter was the older brother of one of his friend’s from school.

the once cozy hall residence became of a house of grief and loneliness after that. melissa tied the family together and had been very active in the community

jack’s father started teaching night classes in addition to his typical course schedule to make up for the loss of melissa’s income and any money they received in compensation for the murder was put towards the children’s college funds.

with no one left to watch the twins, jack was pretty much always Permanent Babysitter unless he could talk his elderly neighbor into watching them for the night

DEATH TW summer before his senior year, jack broke his femur and a few ribs following a fall from the town water tower. the fall was the result of a drunken fight he had gotten into. the other boy in the fight also fell, but did not make it out of the event alive. ( this guilt eats at jack. he’s never been the same )

the town took pity on jack because of his mother. everything was ruled a tragic accident, however his football career? over

senior year he mostly just partied and tried to help take care of the twins who were now 10 and decently old themselves. he had a serious girlfriend for a few months but they broke up due to constant bickering

he really wanted to leave his small town

he decided to attend lockwood because of the distance away from home. it put enough space between them to help him forget, but he can go back in an emergency. he always anticipates an emergency

he’s kind of bossy. he’s used to being listened to and getting his way, but he doesn’t even really realize this himself

he goes home every summer because honestly, being away from his family is hard for him. he loves his sibling, loves his dad

really fatherly, noble personality. he’s always trying to do what’s right for everyone. bears a lot of unnecessary responsibility

tati was someone who used to fawn over him, but he has very little interest in anything beyond a hook up and he prefers a chase. feels uncomfortable when people are straight forward and interested in him and didn’t like tati’s reputation.

he’s pansexual, doesn’t care what people think about him in that regard. he knows he’s a huge casanova, probably breaks a few too many hearts, but he thinks he’s protecting himself

wow!

overall i think this season was MUCH better than season 2, though it did have its rough patches

the slippery slope - pretty good! nothing to write home about except that i love sunny baudelaire. Also, I love fernalds big brother instincts towards her I felt like that was a sweet addition to his character. I missed esme’s fire dress, that snowsuit was an atrocity. Quigly and all related stuff was right on point and im glad they afforded violet her moment of privacy. The kit and poe running around in the mountains non sense was boring but luckily didnt waste much screen time. the man with the beard and the woman with hair were very menacing and goddamn they just straight-up murdered the carnival people huh??? Good pacing that went about the same rate as the book. i really wish they’d let sunny find out about the location of the last safe place, though :p

the grim grotto - kind of a mess? I’m not sure why they did what they did with widdershins - it just made fiona make less sense. Also, I missed her and the baudelaires inventing their food language. I did like that she and violet ended up bonding over mechanical things, and she and fernald are very sweet. Usman ally did a great job and all his stuff was fantastic. I know they went the bombinating beast route with the great unknown but I feel like it coulda been, a LITTLE more unknown. Coulda been scarier. I feel like fiona was less volatile and more just plain stubborn...

the penultimate peril - I honestly loved it, though I still wished theyd done something a little different with kit’s character. Also, they really went for confirming dewey as the baby daddy huh... i mean im not a kitlaf fan but the mystery of baby beatrice’s father is one of those big ol threads left untied in the books that I feel adds something to the baudelaire’s choosing to raise her? also jerome is dating charles???? i fucken love that. The pacing really worked for this episode and i liked the actor who played the denoument brothers he was very charming. I didn’t get why they had that bit where esme and carmelita fed everyone crow - that just felt like filler. Also, I wished a bit more weight had been given to larry’s death. It felt very much like just getting him out of the way for plot’s sake. They really did shuffle the adults up for the concierge scenes and I’m not sure why, but it didn’t bother me all that much. Loved the court scene and justice strauss :( and ofc little sunny being like “burn down hotel” and all of that dfsfdhdsf. This is my favorite episode of the season i think?

The End - really good but felt VERY rushed. I feel like it could have easily been a two-parter. Also, the guy who played ishmael didnt really feel right to me, but thats a minor quibble. Friday was super adorable. I would have loved to hear more about the islanders, and i kinda missed ishmael’s thing about the ring getting passed around. fucken LOVED to see beatrice baudelaire II. Also i nearly cried when Ink offered them the apple. This was of course a very good episode for count olaf and nph killed it. Oh also they did do ishmael’s feet of clay thing but they focused on it so little it read more as he just wears weird boots. The end of the episode was very good and Im FUCKEN GLAD the quagmires are ok. The beatrice reveal felt, a LITLE underwhelming bc they were being very obvious about it but thats ok bc most of the viewers probably already know. also now we know whats in the sugar bowl - i wonder if thats like, what daniel handler had originally in mind?

i reaaaalllllyyyy try to keep out of discourse/stating my opinion on this site for a multitude of reasons, but one of the biggest ones is bc im an adult and this site is populated by early-mid teenagers. i dont expect everyone to be mature bc they literally arent, and its not my place as an adult to try and force kids to listen to me with some kind of holier than thou attitude

but like,,, i used to be a early teen on this site and it never got this bad. ever. i remember the biggest discourse used to be that A stood for asexual not ally, and even then it was rare to even be on my dash

idk when the shift happened, but at some point everyone became so obsessed with being right and inclusive that everything had to be about everything. no one can make a post making a general statement abt a topic without a thousand people screaming “WELL I GUESS YOU HATE THIS *insert specific person/place/thing* AND UR A FUCKING MONSTER”. sorry op didnt feel the need to write up a 25 page dissertation on the subject before posting. it just ends up with everyone reaching for something to get angry about and everyone pointing fingers to try and find the most “wrong” person. its fucking exhausting.

their kids would be as close as their parents. lets be real, they probably didn’t have a choice

but they all didn’t like each other at first-

wait ok lets get this straight: Benverly has 1 kid, a girl. she’s got red hair like Bev & blue eyes, but her personality is more like Ben’s & she’s poetic but also other kids are intimidated by her (no one knows why tho she’s just a sweet little thing? maybe it was time she punched a guy in the middle of a soccer game for another girl). her name’s Allison but everyone calls her Ally

Mike & his wife would have 3 kids. 2 boys, 1 girl who’s the middle child. oldest’s name is Mark, the girl’s name is Tiana, and the youngest’s is Ryan. They’re all super caring and make sure their friends smile at least once and they’re the closest bunch of siblings anyones ever seen? Everyone likes them too & they get popular in high school bc of that & they’re all athletic in some way.

Tiana & Ally are same age so they’re bffs instantly and Mark and Ryan by default become Ally’s friends too bc the Hanlon kids are very close. if people wanna go with the ‘original group’ stuff they would be it tbh

then comes in Stenbrough’s kids! 2 boys, Peter and Thomas. Bill & Stan adopted Peter, a Vietnamese boy, around the age of 3 & he’s very shy and anxious and not that sociable. They adopted Tom when he was 13 (Peter’s just one year younger). He’s half-black half-white, biological parents gave him up, and people would think he’s sensitive about it but…he’s not? he doesn’t mind, Stan and Bill are the best parents tbh and he gloats about it. He’s a very outgoing kid but secretly awkward

finally Reddie! they have one boy, one girl. Blake and Kelly. Blake’s the oldest by 2 years, same age as Mark & Tom, and they adopted him when he was a literal baby. growing up he acquired more of Eddie’s personality. when Blake was like …6 they adopted Kelly when she was 4, same age as Tiana & Ally. she acts more like Richie. she’s almost the exact female replica of Richie but she doesn’t have ADHD.

ok now we can back to the kids’ friendship

the 3 Hanlons and Ally were fuckin close. they became friends around ages 6-8 and stuck together ever since. they tried to get Peter to join their friend group but the shy, anti-social, kid he was never really did until loud, obnoxious and loud, but kind Blake and Kelly brought them under their slightly chaotic wings

don’t worry they were nice about it

but Peter didn’t like either of them at first

Kelly teased him a l o t but out of kindness ofc & never stopped calling him Peter Pan or Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Blake was calmer but still loud and sometimes was too idk nice (wow who knew that was a thing). Peter just thought something was up bc he’s used to kids doing mean af things to him after being extremely nice so Peter’s just like a constant state of expecting hurtful shit from both of them

they’re offended bc he tells them out right one day during the summer, around age 10 & K&B are just like… “dude it’s been 3 years wtf”

that’s when Peter finally actually considers them friends bc they explained they care a shit load about him & by the start of the next school year, Ally’s friends with them too and that just brings Tiana, Mark, and Ryan as well

2 years later Tom is in the picture & Peter is once again like “i do not trust the boy where did he come from, he’s gonna shit in my bed or soMETHING”

turns out they get along GREAT & Peter is once again “i hated you” but Tom’s like “same I thought you were a snob bc you’d never talk” “…is this how Kelly & Blake felt” “probably”

all the teachers loathed the group bc even with cute Ally, nice Tiana, shy Peter, and sweet Ryan & Mark, they were all so fucking…wild

hallway fight in high school? probably 5′1′’ Kelly Tozier-Kaspbrak not backing down when she’s in a situation to fight someone both verbally & physically ok. she & Ally are literally the 2 smallests but pack a good punch and/or kick

after school detention? regular attenders are Kelly, Tom, Mark, and Ally. Peter got it once bc someone said the n-word to Ryan and he went off. that’s the first time anyone saw shy Pete red in the face. Blake got it a couple of times for getting into fist fights after someone talked shit about his friends. Ryan got it defending Peter & for spray painting something about the government on some lockers. Tiana get’s it AT LEAST once a month bc she back talks whatever teacher gives her shit

Pete has his first panic attack in freshman year of high school in front of the class but Mark, Tom, & Blake are a year above him & the girls and Ryan were still in middle school so he literally had no one & that made him panic more? poor kid :’(

he tries to hide it, as in he tries to not let the others know and lie about how the presentation went

Blake sees through his bullshit instantly, so does Tom ok they’re brothers. Mark doesn’t at first but then he’s like…what’s up with our shy boi after Peter snaps at him for the 1st time

its not until when they’re hanging out that weekend & Peter just starts crying after Kelly asks about it

cue confused and worried Kelly but Peter eventually tells what happened

cue a giant group hug and caring words and a few more tears

the boys are all protective of the girls + Ryan bc they’re the youngest. even Ryan’s protective of the girls too & vice versa. the girls & Ryan are also super protective of the older boys

they just don’t want anything happening to one another bc they’re group is like…a target for bullies. 3 of them are black, one’s Vietnamese, one’s mixed, a few are Not Straight At All

the bullying stops tho somewhat when the Hanlons get recognized for their athletic abilities & when Blake and Tom are deemed as the two hottest guys in school & when Ally is said to be the sweet but slightly scary girl with her cheerleader bff Kelly who you cannot piss off ever or else you’re screwed (& Ally’s secret gf Tiana who’s good af at soccer). Peter’s the cute nerd everyone giggles about – that just makes Kelly call him Peter Parker/Spider-Man more

Ally already knew & taught Mark, Tiana, and Ryan & that ensued with Mike going over to Benverly where Ben just smiles sheepishly and Bev doesn’t really care lmao
