➡️➡️ she doesn’t believe in everything light has her say, or that she says on KIRA’s behalf. it’s all just a part of the plan, and who ‘ kiyomi takada ‘ is known as & who she + her as KIRA are/was going to be are too wildly different people.

>> her and halle had fun little back and fourths when she was her bodyguard. some flirts were definitely made. . . often then followed by the weight behind them, which would then lead to more flirting. leaving questions about true meaning to never be answered.

>> 14 during first arc, 21-22 during second arc. he / him ( in a queer way that’d take too long to explain ). his type between genders, or lack thereof in any way possible, is completely different. but fine with the gay man label, no it totally doesn’t tick him off a bit with how it doesn’t really fit at all !

>> mom, M ( oc ) , had him participate in a lot extracurriculars as a kid - - soccer, gymnastics, orchestra, argumentative writing competitions - - so he’d stop focusing on whatever the hell near was “ besting him at “. did it help? well, it gave him a lot of trophies he likes to look at!!!!

➡️➡️ M still keeps them all in the replica of his bedroom for when he comes back.

>> mello took out most the S.P.K. not only because he has put near’s face to his self-loathing, inferiority complex, insecurities, etc. . . but because somewhere deep inside he felt all those he could simply eradicate so easily were either too weak or too stupid to deserve to be on near’s team.

➡️➡️ he almost sent near an encrypted message that just read ‘ you’re welcome ‘ but decided that was a very stupid way to get his cover blown.

>> 13 during first arc, 20-21 during the second arc. she / her. crucial t4t but besides that she doesn’t care. . . not really looking for anything romantic right now, she’s kind of busy being squished inside L’s shadow. but she is actively sexual as an adult.

>> L’s only biological child with his wife, M. birth name was ‘ nate ‘ but practically since day one was called ‘ near ‘. when she asked why as an itty bitty her mom said ‘ because you’re near and dear to our hearts ‘.

>> one of the few kids accepted into a wammy’s style orphanage without a traumatic past. really, he’s just a sensitive guy! - - light sensitivity, legally blind, touch sensitive, temperature sensitive, audhd & learning disabilities. . . little dude has it rough! but wasn’t exactly deeply traumatized until he met r + r + j ( ocs ). . .

>> was given up right after birth and thanks to the LOVELY FOSTER CARE SYSTEM lost all information his birth mother wanted him to be able to keep of her. which leads matt to wondering if he was unwanted because he is born different or was it just not the right time for her?

>> was born with the terrible combination of having a deep loathing for a feeling of being bored, but getting bored very easily. causing him to quickly become somewhat of an adrenaline junky. getting into trouble, hanging with the wrong people, and doing the wrong thing just for the thrill of it.

>> twins who in life used the death note to enact justice. but after both dying horribly, rem first, ryuk soon after, and becoming shinigami- - most things, including their mortal lives, became meaningless. . . leading to boredom.

➡️➡️ rem can sit with boredom, she likes to think, she likes to reminisce. she can make friends with any of the other shinigami and listen to their stories for hours. . . ryuk is not that. ryuk was balls to the wall in life and that didn’t go away once he died. if he’s not gambling with his bros he’s sneaking up on rem and pouncing on her like a cat. and they’re quickly start ripping eachother apart. i think i once described the sound of them fighting like 17 angry cats and a bad car engine revving up.

>> rem still went to the mortal world for the same reasons. not really caring what ryuk was doing there, not her problem. honestly it was nice being away from that bozo for like literally what felt like a second to her.

>> rem was in love with misa romantically!

>> ryuk was really fucking pissed with light when rem died and had to be reincarnated as a baby ( makes sense if you’ve seen my shinigami world lore. . . ) and basically yoinked her and carried her around in his giant claw hands after that plotline. she remained basically a baby the rest of the main storyline because ryuk didn’t want her offing herself for misa, or any pretty woman, again. so yeah he literally waited until misa DIED to show rem how to grow and regain her memories. . .

>> it must be very obvious that since i cannot find a label to describe myself in any capacity outside ‘ queer ‘ i cannot put labels on most of these characters and it feel correct. . . 😭😭😭😭

I feel like a kid on Christmas. I'm finally making some real use of my 3DS being homebrewed. I figured out how to install my 3DS cartridges onto the console so I don't need the carts to play. I also figured out NDS game forwarding, so I can have icons for those too. What you're looking at is every mainline Zelda game that the 3DS can run. Every one from Zelda 1 to Four Swords, and the handhelds from there onward. It's only the Wii U and Switch ones that I can't play here on my little ol' gold Zelda New 3DS XL. This is so epic. Mind you I've owned all of these since 2015. It's just having them all here without needing the carts that makes me so excited.

I've also packed Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D full of mods for quality of life and to make them just a bit more faithful to the N64 releases. Read below for the mods I've installed! They all work on 3DS, not just Citra!

Nerrel on YouTube has an excellent review of MM3D that points out its severe shortcomings as a faithful remaster of the original. Thankfully, there are multiple mods that fix both gameplay and aesthetic problems.

Project Restoration by Leoetlino, which fixes every gameplay issue and adds even more quality of life features.

N64 OST to 3DS by DeathWrench. Gets rid of the reverb that Grezzo slathered on the soundtrack.

Classic Texture Packs by Solt 11, based on Citra-only mods by Loch Ness Hamster. They make Link's transformations look much more faithful. (I deleted the file for Hylian Link though because I like Grezzo's take on him)

Even if you don't care for the texture packs, Project Restoration easily makes MM3D the best way to experience Majora's Mask, whether on Citra or original hardware.

OoT3D is a much more faithful remaster, with virtually no changes to the gameplay while only enhancing visuals and adding optional QoL features like motion aiming. There are still some areas where it fell short, like how some of the game's horror elements were sanitized. So I threw on a bunch of mods for that too. Most of them are just aesthetic, but two are really game changing. First, the aesthetic.

Invisible Sheikah Stone by Takeshre. They're still there if you need them but don't visually distract anymore. There is a MM3D version, but Citra only.

Art-Faithful Fairies by Takeshre (3DS port by JoesephMother in comments). This one is just neat. Pointy wings!

N64 Dialogue Font by Takeshre. The original font has so much character compared to what Grezzo replaced it with, and now it's back!

Original Dead Hand by Loch Ness Hamster (3DS port by JoesephMother in comments). Finally some of the horror back.

Now the gamechangers.

Standalone Free Cam by Roberto-Nessy. Goodness this breathes some fresh life into the game. As far as Nintendo is concerned, OoT is still the only 3D Zelda to not have free cam. The original 3DS couldn't support one, but the New 3DS and Citra certainly can. Boom bam, free cam!

Unmirror Master Quest by HylianFreddy. Okay so maybe this is just huge and gamechanging to me, but listen. I'm left-handed. I identify so very strongly with Link's character, and it makes me very happy whenever he is left-handed. That said, I dislike that OoT3D and TPHD mirror the game world in their respective hard modes simply because they make Link right-handed. This mod completely fixes the issue for me in OoT3D at least. I actually want to play Master Mode now.

Note that these two are both implemented using a file called "code.ips", so they cannot be used together unless they are merged into one ips file. Which you can do easily with the tool in method 2 of this guide.

(These aren’t entirely indicative of when I posted them, but when I actually finished them.)

These are some of my biggest/favorite projects through each month!

Piece details + Mod-posting below!

JAN - Asteía ; This was one of my first projects of the year that dealt with lighting, and additionally light from multiple sources! I also remember experimenting with backgrounds and how to make a character pop against a semi-detailed background without making them get lost in the piece.

FEB - Mora and Ego ; This was a good project on figuring out how to fill empty space while still keeping the atmosphere of a piece. It was also good perspective practice!

MAR - Sanguine and Ego ; Though I’m no longer too happy with the proportions or lighting of this piece, I still remember having a blast with it. Hearing feedback about them holding hands and Sanguine’s ear getting squished are very fun memories for me.

APR - Miraak and Ego ; This might be my favorite project of the whole year! Though I know I can do backgrounds better now, I remember being pretty confident and happy during the whole process! I think the motion/lighting/effects all came out very well :] ALSO it was the first piece I did with expressive masks for Miraak and Ego! Wahoo!

MAY - Mora and Ego (again) ; Though the last one was my personal favorite, I heard from a couple of friends that THIS was their favorite. Though a pain in the ASS to do, I’m especially happy with all the texture effects. This was also me experimenting with Mora’s design!

JUN - Erandur ; Not a particularly complicated/difficult piece, but one that was simply pure fun. Had a blast with lighting effects and atmosphere. It was also a good break from the family trip I was taking at the same time ,:]

JUL - Dagon ; Specifically his revamp! This was my first successful attempt at a (very) muscular body type that I liked! In fact, over the course of the year I’ve been pretty proud of my progress of expanding on body types. This one especially, though, was just very fun!

AUG - Iren and Rakell ; My first dive into a colored + shaded animatic (animation? It’s awful choppy lol)! FAR from perfect, but I was (and still am) so happy with the outcome. I particularly remember enjoying figuring out lines of movement and sound effects for the video.

SEP - Sanguine ; My first (and still only, though hopefully not for long) attempt at making Sanguine intimidating. I think this one is going in the right direction! As far as effects go, I actually had a very tough time with things because of a few layer-merging mishaps, but the final product was well-received!

OCT - The Warden ; After many-a night on Minecraft with friends, I realized just how much I loved the warden, and HAD to draw them. Redesigning characters is one of my absolute favorite things to do, especially when taking minimal details and expanding on them! They were super fun all around.

NOV - Miraak, Serana, Ego, and Ancano ; I’d been meaning to draw the siblings being siblings for a while now, but putting them all on one canvas was more than a little intimidating. I was so happy to have it done, though, and I kinda love seeing their colors clash together.

DEC - Sanguine (again) ; After not drawing him for so long, it was a blast doing so. The moment I was back home for winter break, I was ECSTATIC to get to work on this piece. #1 blorbo

This year has been an absolute ride.

I became a mod and then co-owner of the TES server that got me into making TDI and have made some really tight friendships over there (genuinely, anyone reading this who is/was in the cult server, I’m so damn happy to know you).

I’ve done some intense progress on TDI, and even though I didn’t QUITE accomplish my New Years Resolution of posting Ch. 1 this year, hopefully you can understand the drawbacks considering I am… //checks notes/// 70+ chapters in and still going.

I’m in college! Have been for a hot second now, but I’ve been working towards a ministry degree, and have future plans of getting a PhD after my bachelor’s so I can teach at a college level! I don’t think I talk a lot about my irl happenings, but hopefully that gives you an idea of why I might be a liiittle busy when it comes to writing. Ministry is an unforgiving degree when it comes to papers and meetings.

As earlier mentioned, I’ve learned how to do different body types, and am trying to find a good balance between shape language and inclusivity when it comes to bodies! I am… still struggling with feminine anatomy! Admittedly! But I’m willing to keep trying ,:]

And, overall, I (certainly hope I have) improved on my art. I have a much better sense of face shapes, line weights, and consistent details than I did at the beginning of the year. Always learning, but always improving, too!

Alignment: They're a very faceted character, but I'd say they're Neutral Evil at this point.

Power Level: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Blueprint is highly dangerous. All their power comes down to pure skill and cunning, as they have never been seen to have used a Magic Anon ask.

Skills: Blueprint is a robotics genius. All their plots involve high-tech terror. They can restore the dead to life by converting them into cyborgs, which they can then control, whether directly or indirectly through paranoia. The cyborgs are still fully aware of what is happening while controlled. However, this technique doesn't seem to be foolproof, as seen by the unfortunate fate of the pumpkin child Dal. When Blueprint sets up shop in a level, their location is in stark contrast to their surroundings. They're more than capable of fighting for themselves, and primarily use their tools as weapons, their favorites seemingly being their screwdriver, wrench, and welding torch.

Connections: Blueprint is deeply affectionate of Pizzaface from @world-class-pizza-pals , to the point of potentially being a Yandere. They're also very fond of the animatronic Toppins from Don't Make A Sound, and feel deeply betrayed by the fact that the five don't completely agree with their methods. In stark contrast, their hatred of Pizzahead is terrifying, and their plots are usually part of a long-con to get rid of him, if not a direct assassination attempt. Their most notable ploy is likely their first, in which they turned @funni-man into a cyborg and attempted to kill Pizzahead through him. They're far more fond of Pizzahead's Sugary child alter ego, Coneboy, who they have tried to convert into a cyborg to prevent him from turning back into Pizzahead. They have fought with the Detective Anon before, resulting in Detective getting half their face burned off via Blueprint's welding torch. More fortunate in their conflict with Blue was Detective's cousin, the Masked Anon. Blueprint had their arm ripped off by @rabid-creature and seems to maintain a fear of them, although the two haven't interacted since. Blueprint entered a short partnership with Emperor but doesn't seem to be emotionally attached to him either way. Another victim of their cybernetic anarchy was @chatting-with-evil , and by extention @evil-peppinospaghteti2 through clone shenanigans. They can still mess with Fake Evil Peppino's mind through his cybernetic eye. They also made a deal with Dal from @th3p7mpk1np4tch , but considering the next time we saw the girl, she was rotting in a box with rusted cybernetics, this apparently went sour. @chatting-with-peppino and Golden Pizzaboy from @world-class-pizza-pals have been warned about their tactics, but they have yet to interact.

First Appearance: Blueprint first appeared on @world-class-pizza-pals , requesting Coneboy bring them some of Pizzahead's confidential blueprints, thus earning them the title. At this point, Blueprint was a friendly, charming character, with a comedic love rivalry with Detective. However, when a trip to Peppibot Factory went sour via Pizzahead's Anti-Anon-Bots slaughtering multiple anons and four of the five Toppin Bots, something clearly snapped in Blueprint's mind, and they quickly went on a downwards spiral towards insanity and villainy.

who is/are your comfort character(s)? - don't have any from shows or games. I used to have some characters I either created myself or with someone else and I then thought about how they would handle different situations. Two of them were rather "broken" or sad individuals, but I created one of them (the other I created with someone) only to give them mental health issues. I then created them in Sims and played them with stuff like WickedDrugs or this one violence mod. And I really liked V (this one character with blond hair, never gave them a real name) and hoped for her to get better. I really like her and she deserves better. I very often thought about her at my lowest point. Then, some time later, I created another character which helped me to explore more gender related stuff in a safe environment. And guess what, I ended up being like this character... I also really liked them because they are so secure in themselves, they don't care. And I think it was the only charcter I ever created that almost always smiled. And yeah, I also shipped both of these characters at one point, they are so cute love them

Can you help me understand? Why's MHA so bad with discrimination? It's embarrassing how bad it is!

Sorry about sitting on this ask for months but I wanted to get everything in order cause this is a long one!

MHA fence sitting on injustices

My hero tries so very cutely so solve injustices in it's media and does it poorly by having it either happen offscreen or barely addressing it to actually try fixing later. (More under read more)

Things ended so perfectly for the mutants, and all because Shoji told the mutants fighting injustice that they should...stop. Oh shoji, we should talk about his character and the treatment of him and hor Hori just skims the issues with mutant treatment.

A little background, Shoji here literally has no character, it's so bad to the point Hori didn't know how to design his room with the excuse of "Oh I don't have many worldy desires."

what kid talks like this? He doesn't even have training gear or extra mask, or any hero posers- pretty easy to say that hori just didn't have anything planned for a while. Which fair, he had a whole cast of students from two classes, and pro and teachers so...fine right? What was weird is the lack of characterization for several seasons with this character.

So it turns out he wears the mask cause he was heavily scarred and attacked by a mod of adult prejudices as his backstory, didn't want to talk about it nor mention it till it was relevant for him to fight for the side of injustice! He mentions kids being murdered for having mutant DNA! And at first Hori is making a good point here that prejudice is real, there are people who murder, belittle, and treat very real people horribly for the ways they look.

(They also apparently talk about this once and...that's it? as a POC person it's never just ONCE, X-men brings it up very well that fence sitting is not acceptable if you care about the lives of mutants, you can't be passive on injustice!)

This is a very sympathetic and relatable bit of characterization- so its embarrassing that Horikoshi uses it to justify said prejudices...Oho I can't wait to explain this one!

Setting writing back 30 years.

At some point in the future Shoji, again the character who barely gets to express himself as a character? Fights spinner, a character similar to him as that he's a mutant and gets very little screentime and engagement in the show/manga. Spinner is told multiple times he's useless and stupid and even one of his allies in Dabi calls him what the MHA mutant KKK call him. A lizard.

"But Dabi's a villain." I'd probably hear people say- Yeah...so were the KKK, doesn't mean you can't be prejudice, and Dabi here shares said prejudice attitude towards mutants that many of our heroes do.

His brother calls the chief of police a mutt after they break some major laws that could of gotten them killed, and later he even sees that this officer (even tho we don't stan pigs here!) was helping them and he even states he thinks he should apologize...guess the did that offscreen, like they do everything.

Shinso calls Ojiro a monkey and yet people ship them, idk how much they look cute together I wouldn't ship anyone with a person calling me outside my name. Now do I think they're full on prejudice? No but they shouldn't also get to let this slide because people like them. (Would of been nice to let Ojiro beat Shinso in a spar as recompense.) but Hori loves letting most of it slide, no one calls out Shinso, Dabi or his brother and tells them to chill. Even Deku gets in on some fence sitting.

This tall woman's getting attacked by heavily armed citizens with support weapons in her introduction- Deku jumps in and tells them to calm down, with them walking away saying the below. Like she can change that.

Now this is a great way to show that prejudice is wrong and that Deku doesn't jive with that shit. I would of had Deku break their support gear, and tell them to find shelter instead of taking matters into their own hands and attacking indiscriminately.

But Deku lets them walk away with deadly weapons that can kill. And when the tall woman tells him that she was trying to find safety and that she was scared by these jackasses, Deku doesn't sympathize with her- he says this!

This poorly worded drivel reads exactly how it does on the page, it comes across as justification for the public attacking innocent mutants based on looks instead of telling them that they were in the wrong? She even gets turned away from many other shelters denying mutants!

I'm aware that many villains attacking heroes at this point ARE mutants but, she's unarmed, begging them to stop, and a guy lines up a killshot before blaming her for how she looks; then our hero goes "Well we're all scared!" Thanks!

That's like me telling X-men's nightcrawler who was about to be murdered by racist. "Well both sides were scared." This is the ultimate fence sitting! Not to mention it's established early on that mutants aren't allowed in certain shops and get slurs and rocks thrown at them; people assume the worst of them and there are even times where some are confused for villains and attacked like Gang orca.

But if you're an attractive enough mutant like Hawks and Miruko you can get away with being a mutant- it's the equivalent of Hollywood saying they'll hire more black people and only hiring the light skinned black individuals. Which could be an interesting discussion to have; The fertilization of mutant quirks, desirable ones vs ones that people show hate towards. Obviously people don't show the same type of prejudices towards Hawks and Miruko vs Shoji and Orca.

This all culminates into the MHA war arc in which many out of pocket things happen, like Hori uses the black lives matter movement and ROCK LOCK- THE ONLY BLACK HERO IN MHA (there's not even any black students and background heroes.) And the mutants turn to him and say things like "we aren't looters" WHAT!? And even worst

"You would never understand." A black person would never understand prejudice? Even if MHA was an idealize world, it's based off our own world and rock lock again is the only one, and them turning to him and saying this comes off as tone deaf. Like why rock lock? How many heroes have glue, tape and adhesive powers that could of had this scene? Not saying I don't want Rock lock, I'm saying having a black person be told they don't get prejudice based on how they look is....idiotic.

And it just gets worse! Shoji finally gets screentime to tell people to stop fighting against injustice.

He finally gets something and it's to tell spinner to stop fighting mutants getting slaughtered, to stop letting heroes and the police sit on their hands and do nothing- everyone knows that if you wanna be good second class citizens and get equality, you have to wait patiently and quietly till people deem you good enough to EARN it.

He does talk about the cycle of violence, but the problem is....hori never has a person like Todoroki or Deku turn towards regular people and tell them that THEY should be ashamed of how they treat mutants as well.

It's so easy to turn towards marginalized people radicalized into fighting against prejudice, but man is it on so hard to turn to the people being shitty and not saying a damn thing! My hero does this so poorly, the people who hurt mutants never have to address their prejudices and they never get called out, or are made to change out of kindness- they just get away with it.

And it ends again as we see at the beginning of this post- offscreen! Shoji brings peace to many mutant locations and we're just supposed to be fine with no one putting in effort but the mutants themselves.

It's the biggest fence sitting the series does, completely putting the onus of change on the mutants! It's a shame too, cause MHA had potential! But it'll end up as a series that just barely involves itself in the struggle and many mutant characters barely get to grow and prove anything.

Bravado, Heroism, and When a Character Changes Tone.

The idea of a character having multiple voices or “masks of personality” for different situations is something I love to play around with. You can find some form of it in almost every character I create, usually as a response to responsibilities thrown upon them against their will.

The easiest example is Kitsune, who is the reason I did this rant at all. I know you, Star mod, don’t really know Kitsune, but it still felt fun to talk about. Also Lily mod will probably read this and actually know what all this means lol

When we first met Kitsune, she was a character named Tea Anon. Tea Anon was an excitable, knowledgeable character who acted mature to the point where most people assumed she was an adult. She’s 16, but has had the responsibility of being a magical girl placed on her since about the age of 12. Due to this, Kitsune tends to act the part of an old 1950’s action hero, or a more quippy version of a classic magical girl. She shows up, cheats her way through an uno game, saves everyone from a witch, says some cool lines, and gets home in time for dinner. She’s a guardian-heroine who lines up more with someone like Indiana Jones or Mami Tomoe than a fairy tale hero. She’s cunning and quick-witted and always out-gambits her way to victory. She’s…well, a fox at her finest. That is reflected in her card’s name: “THE PERFECT HEROINE”. She always, always gets the happy ending.

Iiiiin actuality, Kitsune is a mess who is constantly using her “out-gambit” abilities to outrun her problems and grief. She’s lost everything: Her siblings, her boyfriend, and her old teammates. All either brutally or under mysterious circumstances. She couldn’t save any of them, and her near-infinite confidence in her own abilities is pretty much entirely feigned.

This is shown somewhat in how she speaks: Tea anon/Kitsune constantly references tropes, makes self-aware jokes, and generally plays with the boundaries she’s put into. She has a somewhat advanced vocabulary and speaks to adults like they’re her equal. Most magical girls tend to do this, actually, because of their warped view of age/experience. Your age/respectability is more determined by your years of witch fighting and power level than your true age. That’s why someone like Yachiyo treats Mami, a 16 year old, as older/the same age as her, even though Yachiyo’s a legal adult. Kitsune does the same, treating herself as the same age as Hammer or Origami, although she treats Origami/Octavia as older once she knows she’s her sister.

This all is why it’s impactful when, after she’s forced to admit that she can’t save everyone, after she’s confronted with her own near-death, after she’s properly had the time to process the fact that she’s been through heck and back, her voice and tone completely changes. Her voice becomes scared and shaky, all of her confidence drained from it. Her vocabulary reverts to a child much younger than her, about the same age as the 12 year old that first made the contract and watched the snowball effect start. Because she was forced to grow up too fast, and not at all. Her mask falls apart at the seams, and hasn’t really gotten itself back together since.

But that’s only one example! YOU THOUGHT I WAS DONE?!

Gangle sniffled as she opened her bedroom door. She was greeted with a new addition to her room, a red and white CRT computer monitor sitting on her desk, its screen a bright light in the dark room. Gangle blinked as she recalled what Caine had said before disappearing at the end of today’s adventure.

“And you will all find little surprises in your rooms now! Something that’ll let you have fun even when you aren’t on an adventure!”

Huh… Gangle didn’t know what exactly she had been expecting, but it wasn’t this. She walked into her room, the lights turning on automatically as she stepped inside, and made her way over to the desk. She gasped as she recognised what was on the screen, the blue background and ‘t’ logo dredging up a memory from her long forgotten past. Carefully setting down the shards of her comedy mask, Gangle sat at the computer and started filling out the details the site requested for a new blog.

Gangle sat back as she admired the work she’d put into her little blog, she doubted anyone would ever follow it or ask her questions, but she was still proud of what she'd made. Her eyes were drawn to the search bar in the upper corner of the site. Had Caine given them access to the entirety of the site, or just their personal blogs?

Gangle glanced behind herself, making sure her door was closed and there was nobody else in the room, and then she searched for ‘azumanga daioh’. Even though her mask was currently tragedy, a small smile spread across Gangle’s face as fanart from her favorite anime appeared on the screen. This was one of the greatest things Caine had ever given her since she appeared in the circus, maybe even as great as her comedy mask, and Gangle got comfortable in her chair for a long night of internet surfing.

Fun and Modded Games with 035, Or... Did You Just Caboose Me? So Wrong, Dude.

My first test with 035 aka Dyo. Just little ol me, the Possesive Mask, and a modded to hell copy of a quasipopular 4 v everyone zombie shooter. What can go wrong? Everything.

Well, it's time to meet the Possesive Mask, for a few "friendly" games. 035 walks in, and sees me setting up my gaming rig. If he could raise an eyebrow, he would have.

"What's going on? I was told I'd be testing. Didn't expect to test with 049's girl."

"Yeah... it's not really an official official test. And I thought since the Doctor is important to me, thought we should actually meet on less formal terms." I smile, extend a hand. "I'm Rabbit, nice to finally meet you, Dyo. Wanna blow up some boomers?"

"Boomers?"

"Big, nasty explody undead bastards. It'll be fun, I promise. And, since we're not being overly monitored, feel free to swear at the lumbering sacks of boom and acid."

I fire up the game, hand him an extra controller. And... break out laughing. My dumb ass forgot to switch off my mods. So, the shamblers are all Bernie Sanders, the spitters are dilophasaurs, the boomers are all the heavy from Team Fortress 2, and the witches... are the most demented version of Princess Peach ever seen. Hell, I still left my character mods on, meaning I'm stuck as a neon green Amongus and Dyo is... Caboose from Red vs Blue. Our weapons are modded, Dyo running with the BFG 1000 from Doom, I picked dual plasma cutters. Our online teammates are modded up too, 'Sarcasm&4Gauges' is ready to wreck shit as Lord Heisenberg from RE Village, and our last teammate is fucking Sailor Moon. Yes, Usagi is in the house. We get to it. After an initial learning curve, Dyo is on it. He took out Peach one shot. Massive legend. But... not without cost. My Amongus died, after Sailor Moon shot me in the back. Twice.

"Ayo, Sailor Moon? You Caboosed my ass. So wrong, my dude. Don't hate on your squaddie for being better as a rook than you, not our fault you suck with aiming."

"Kiss my disco medallion. Not my fault YOU were in my way."

Dyo pipes up. "Dr. Bright? Don't you have more rules to break before they're written? Teamkilling is almost as low as teabagging. Get your worthless ass back to Crystal Tokyo, heard Queen Beryl is on her bullshit again." Sarcasm&4Gauges loses it on the in-game chat.

"Damn, that was both thematic and cold as fuck, dawg. I can see why 049 chills with you. Savage."

"We do work well together, kind of a Beauty and the Beast deal. Of course, I'm the Beauty."

"Not in this chat, Dyo. Rabbit be fiiiiiine."

"And the Killer Rabbit is good with her honey. Back off her, Jack. Go perv on Rights again."

"Damn, Cleffy be dropping bodies without a shot. Thanks, Uncle Alto. Nice spot job on the herd of Bernies. Not into that kind of getting ate out."

We're back on our zombie slaying grind when... a wild tank appears, modded into a mini 682. Clef dies laughing on mic.

"Maybe I need to chill with the mods, the prospect of soloing a mini 682 brought out Clef's Scooby-Doo villain for real. Oh shit... Caboose dropped the BFG, Clef grab that big fucking gun and get nutty with it."

"Naw, Rabbit. I'm gonna Thor this punk ass. Time to drop the hammer." Clef runs up, the wind up is good... but mini 682 tail-yeets his ass into a wall. Dyo nods at me, and I drop a nice little surprise... a Juggernaught from COD. I toggle on theme music, Dyo pumps his BFG, and we see who kills the Unkillable Lizard first. Just as Dyo lobs the first volley, an Enderman pops up behind him, ready to drag him off. I shoot him with my cutters, Ender fall down, go immobile. Bright is back up... throwing his fucking tiara at 682. Who just laughs in 'what part of hard-to-fucking-KILL do you not get, bitch?' He drops like a bad habit after getting stomped. After several rounds of fire, multiple revives, and several death threats against Dr. Bright for friendly fire, the big scaly butt-ugly undead asshole dies.

"I don't even want to play this game anymore."

"Fine by us, Jack. You suck."

"Yeah, well at least I'm not cuddling up to 049."

"You. Did. Not. Just. Besmerch. The. Doctor's. Rabbit. If I get out of Containment, I am going to curbstomp both you and that tacky as hells medallion into the next reality. And not even 343 will save you. Be ready."

"Dyo, chill. Let me handle him. I have a plan."

"Please tell me you're going to freeze his mouth shut."

"Of course not. Why debase high magic for such low intellect?" I give Dyo an evil grin, and mute my mic. "First, I've arranged a nice Tinder date for him, and he won't even have to leave site. I know a young lady who would love having him over for dinner. Then, after dinner... how about a nice 963 under 60 meters of ice, floating in deep space? Far, far away from our galaxy."

"Rabbit, you're cold-blooded, evil, vindictive... and too bad 049 met you first. I'm honestly impressed."

"I learned at the sandaled feet of THE masters of dirty tactics, 076-2 and Clef. Let's just say I'm rolling the Mastermind perks up in here 24/7. After all, you gotta bring your A game to even match Abel. And Clef? Dude literally wrote the book on reality warpers, and I paid attention. After all, it's hard to learn much from the dead, let alone as one of them." I sense my new gaming buddy is a bit nervous. "Tell you what, you play a few rounds of Modern Warfare with me, we'll call it a non-aggession pact. Hey, maybe we can stomp Bright on and offline, heh?"

"Non-aggression pact? Meaning?"

"You don't kill me or 049 attempting to bail, I look the other way as much as I can. Maybe accidentally drop a few helpful items."

"I'll think about it."

"The pact, or the game?"

"The pact. I honestly like playing with you, you're in it to win via chaos. Very entertaining."

"Thanks, Dyo. You're pretty good yourself." I turn my mic back on. "So, gents... who's up for COD?" Clef opts in, but Bright backs out.

"You bailing, Bright? Can't handle playing unmodded?" Clef teases him.

"More like I can't deal with Rabbit. She's brutal, more so than Mongolian death metal, and she scares me."

"Can I train, or can I train? Not my fault you got no game, zero drip, and lo! No maidens."

"Why are you guys so mean to me?"

"Uh... my dude. You. Have. An. Over. 800. Item. List. Of. Things. You. Specifically. Are. Forbidden. To. Do. Do you really need us to tell you that alone got you disinvited from ALL official functions not directly related to your job? Plus, you have all the culture of garden soil 073 danced on."

"Ouch. That wounds me, 035."

"I have not yet begun to wound you, you backshooting idiot. Now, get off our server." Sonic rings, then a message: Admin Clef has booted G04tedwth963 from the server. "Thank you, Doctor Clef. You get dibs on my first care package should I die before getting it."

"The other team better pray to 343 it's not a gunship."

My main nuggs (and those who I haven't remembered for a long time... and just a rundown of my LC playthrough)

When I first played LC, I got two employees who I grew in love for. Asera and Kobenri.

Underneath Asera's Today's Expression mask, they just have a tired expression including a stubble (thank the Wellcheers crew). Asera is calm, collected, works dilligently and fights alright. I envision them hating work since they just rule at it.

Kobenri, a custom employee, is kind of similar to the Kobeni she was based off. Scared shitless, but can fight a really good fight. Later she became a Twilight wielder, contrasting with BongBong's Paradise Lost.

Asera was also an employee who died thanks to Portrait of another World linking them with someone who was working with Justice Bird. It also marked my first big reset, as I had some unfortunate abnormalities close together.

Also going through my screenshots, it comes to my attention that Kobenri once got selected for Baby Duty.

So, first reset. Installed some mods to make custom employees free. Here's Mari.

Mari... I forgot everything about her.

Anyways, later on, Kobenri reached Quintuple V

Ain't that nice? Way later she did decide to smoke thanks to Freischutz giving her an E.G.O. gift.

But then, way later, when Kobenri was wielding [CENSORED] and wearing Mimicry... a legend was born

BongBong, an agent of chaos, a creature beyond our comprehension, maybe even a humanoid abno in disguise. I really like her, unfortunately, she doesn't get the spotlight yet

However, one employee who I mocked when I was building the facility is the one named Xavier.

Xavier looks... in my honest opinion, a bit ugly. It's thanks to Wellcheers, but even despite that, he slays magical girls, pulling the Queen of Hatred out of hysteria multiple times.

Meanwhile BongBong was wielding the Magical Bullet, causing some days to take some trial and error.

About Asera, they got covered by [CENSORED]

Same went with Kobenri, but with eyes.

So after taking care of Asiyah's problems, I restarted again.

This is where the nuggetsplosion happens

Yes, BongBong got misspelled, but the rest is here, including some not-so important custom nugs. A lot of them were from DMC, Evangalion, Yakuza, Genshin Impact, but all misspelled in a little way.

We also have my girlfriend, who looks more like Zato-1. I love her to bits, but she's not really an "OC", I would say. She's just along for the ride.

Waay later, after Tiphereth got ice cream, Chesed got coffee and Gebura did the facility in, I created Chiyo-Chan

From Azumanga Daioh, I created her as a disposable employee, although she sticked by my side for a long part of the game. She even went through Hokma's little tantrum, which was easily contained by repressing the urge to press space.

Still, Asera got killed again.

After this, I did another reset, got BongBong's name correct and decided to finish this game, going for all the other abno's left. So while abusing time and trying to lure three birds and a plague doctor

So. as my main blorbo's (if I use this term correctly), we have Asera, Kobenri, BongBong and Xavier. It's time for my final one.

Born with a bit of an unfortunate name and sent to the team with a weird sephiroth, here's my final blorbo: Poussey. While Asera knows their shit, Poussey does not and does not care. She can punch, kick, and turn you into a book before you can say that I'm referencing the wrong Project Moon game.

After getting a lost paradise, I restarted for the final time.

Remember when I said I had some DMC characters? Dio was the replacement for one of the characters, and has a keen refusal to die ever since. KiKi is supposed to be the perfect rival of BongBong, but it did not work out. But other than Courtney, the rest just had to be made on my own.

As for BongBong being an agent of chaos, I mean it.

BongBong and Kobenri are also a thing.

Their relation even made them sprout wings (Note, whitenight was not available at the time, thus the console was used. I regret nothing.)

So, after LC, where are they now?

They are loyal parts of the Library, Xavier still has to be pulled from somewhere, but we might be able to find him in no time when the writer actually plays Ruina further again for Pete's sake.

Very late to the TESFEST 2024 party, but just in time to put together my notes for the 2024 edition.

Once again, this is a mix of ideas and half baked 'proof of concepts' partially implemented with the hope to turn them into an actual mod down the road.

I had a separate list of ideas matching this year's themes until it occurred to me that All themes could apply to my idea of a playable Nord Queen.

I worked on a player start as a undead Nord Queen a few years back, but it was partially implemented, in particular because it requires a new game with a female character starting as the queen.

The mechanics of the character start with a ghost shape. As the player kills and absorbs Draugr (or preferably, live Nords), they regain more and more physical presence through a skeleton stage, a skinned stage and a undead stage. With enough reserves, the player get a final human stage for a while.. but decay is never far.

The main perk of the condition is a complete immunity to Draugr, but not to dragon Priests and ghosts.

Several themes are giving me an occasion to revisit the play for that mod so on to the TESFEST themes:

Breath -> As an undead character, the High Queen of the Nords hangs on to her last breath due to a unique combination of factors - she was an early practitioner of the Thu'um under Gauldur's tutelage, she was already engaged on a path of becoming a succubus from her worship of Sanguine, and she was turned into a draugr when she was left behind in what became her tomb. As she regains her abilities, she will rediscover unique forgotten shouts:

Drain Undead - Diilgaar - Diil (Undead) Gaar (Release)

Spirit of Nords - Riibahlaan Bron - Rii (Essence) Bahlaan (Worthy) Bron (Nord)

Clear Undead - Diilfaas - Diil (Undead) Faas (Fear)

King Slayer - Albronjun - Al (Destroyer) Bronjun (Jarl/Nord King)

Secret -> Along with Gauldur and his sons, High King Harald erased references to his only daughter because of her multiple betrayals.

Ghost / hungry -> Fine tune the ghost/zombie shape as curse for the player after they discover the Queen's remains. One possibility could be to treat the curse as a disease, with progressive decay of the skin into a draugr appearance until the fate of the queen is resolved.

Another idea could be to literally overlap the Queen's spirit with the player as a semi-permanent draugr bound armor. There are many mods to ask permission for reusing assets, including a cool Draugr mask - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/135968

Enamored -> the back story below is about the love between the future High Queen of the Nords (daughter of High King Harald) and Gauldur (https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Gauldur). Their love was not about lust, but about the love of Gauldur as a mentor and father figure. Gauldur is the one who introduce her to the mysteries of Sanguine's worship and feed her ambitions to become more than a mortal queen. Both harald and Gauldurs sons resented that intimacy, with tragic consequences.

Crown -> Part of the resolution of the Queen's fate will be about reforging the Nord Queen crown. I will need to find a good, unique model for that one.

Abandoned -> The Queen's journey will take the player through the tombs of Gauldur's sons. Maybe even into Labyrinthian. That would make a unique place for an abandoned player home as the study where Gauldur taught her everything.

Companion -> The curse would be fitting for a female player character. For male player characters, an alternative would be to set up a the Nord queen as cursed follower. It would be interesting to manage your follower's condition as she needs to find Nords to kill or feed from. I have not seen that kind of dynamic before with followers - not even with Serana (for a vampire, Serana is relatively victim free).

Forbidden -> In addition to recovering unique shouts, the Queen would have her own forbidden knowledge of blood magic. One source of inspiration to ask permission from - Death magic spells - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/7060

Backstory about the High Queen of the Nords (keep reading)

"The Gauldur legend was so dangerous that Harald instigated an age-long attempt to erase them from history, though this ultimately proved unsuccessful." (http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Harald )

Here is a short summary of the timeline of the forgotten queen's demise:

- King Harald had a first born daughter, who was supposed to become queen after his death

- Gauldur was tasked to be her tutor. It isn't clear if she truly loved him or fell under one of his spells, but he was probably grooming her to become a powerful archmage queen when the time was right (with him at her side of course)

- During the course of her education, she started worshiping Sanguine and caught the eye of the Daedra Lord himself. He took her training further, enough to start her on the way of being a succubus and split her soul (one aspect of my Lore about succubi in TES is that a shard of their soul becomes a rose in Azura's garden.. one of Sanguine's roses if he can get his hands of them).

- If you have read my lore about Alessia and her soul shards.. the Nord Queen is one such shards, which explain Sanguine's interest.

- Gauldur's own sons resented her influence on their father. After they killed him and split his amulet between them, they did the same with the future queen.. that is, they violated her and split her remains between three tombs (http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Gauldur) - one set her on fire - one strangled her - one killed her unborn child by starting the embalming process on her (which turned her into a draugr when the tomb was sealed).

- At his death, Gauldur regretted what he had done and cursed his sons and his love.

- This explains King Harald's fury at the sons of Gauldur

- Having part of her soul in Oblivion with Sanguine also explains why she did not completely die.

- In each ruin, she will retrieve a unique item and restore her power and memories.

- Once the amulet is recovered, reveal the truth and add links to the Dragon Cult to complete quest in Labyrinthian (reforge the crown).

So in that scenario, it isn't so much that the Nord Queen ruled… but she was promised to rule and never was. That unfinished business and the powerful magic she gained under Gauldur's tutelage are enough to bring her back from the dead so she can finally complete her destiny.
