Hiya!
So we all know that AI generators like Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL.E, Sora.AI, etc. have stolen the work from artists online to train their AI and since AI is starting to get quite scary, I've decided I'm going to start protecting my work via Nightshade, but I want to also talk about it with you and link to the official sites to Glaze and Nightshade, so you can get either of these programs to try.
First off, we'll start with Glaze AI.
What Glaze aims to do is to act on the defensive against AI. Glaze will scramble their generators by placing a “protective glaze” over your work, and what this will do, is when your work is fed into the AI, it'll trick the AI into thinking your work is something entirely different from what it is, simply by making small changes that only the AI will pick up on
To quote the official site “Glaze is a system designed to protect human artists by disrupting style mimicry. At a high level, Glaze works by understanding the AI models that are training on human art, and using machine learning algorithms, computing a set of minimal changes to artworks, such that it appears unchanged to human eyes, but appears to AI models like a dramatically different art style.”
I've tried using Glaze, but it's a very big program and my computer can't handle that, but I do highly recommend trying it out if you have the space for it.
If you wanna try it out, the link to the site can be found here.
Second is Nightshade.
Nightshade is aimed to “attack” the AI your work is being fed into. Like Glaze, Nightshade puts a protective “glaze” over your work, but it poisons your work and tricks the AI into messing up the user's prompt.
To quote the official site “Nightshade works similarly as Glaze, but instead of a defense against style mimicry, it is designed as an offense tool to distort feature representations inside generative AI image models. Like Glaze, Nightshade is computed as a multi-objective optimization that minimizes visible changes to the original image. While human eyes see a shaded image that is largely unchanged from the original, the AI model sees a dramatically different composition in the image.”
This program is also pretty big, but it's what my laptop is able to handle, so from here on out I'll be protecting my work with this. I'll also go back and protect my older works even if it's not as appealing as my newer works.
If you wanna try it out, the link to the site can be found here.
Keep in mind, these are only temporary solutions while we wait for more permanent ones.
But even if it's temporary, it's better than having no protection against the AI bros.

Some years ago many of us believed Musk was some kind of genius who'll take us all to Mars.
A lot of us believed that buying Tesla cars would be one of the most effective solution to crimate crisis.
Some of us also thought that AI would be a massive benefit to humanity or at least some sort of harmless hobby.
Oh. We were so wrong!
Tumblr media
Elon Musk’s disdain for the Democratic Party was never subtle, but in recent weeks his commentary on the upcoming US presidential election and his attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris have intensified, aided by a crude use of burgeoning artificial intelligence technology, with the help of the new supercomputer dubbed Colossus he bought for his latest artificial intelligence startup, xAI, founded in 2023!
Musk posted an AI-generated image on Twitter/X that depicted Harris as a communist, wearing a red uniform complete with hammer and sickle emblazoned hat and captioned the image with the false assertion, “Kamala vows to be a communist dictator on day one. Can you believe she wears that outfit!?”
The image, which appeared to violate Twitter/X’s policy on manipulated content, resembled an AI-generated image posted by Trump last month during the Democratic National Convention, envisioning Harris addressing a crowd under communist symbols.
Fan-generated AI images have also become the Republican candidate’s latest obsession.
AI images of Trump looking defiant now dominate right-wing social media platforms and accounts and have featured heavily in this election campaign, even used, by Trump and Musk to spread blatant lies and misinformation to their followers mainly on Twitter/X.
Musk’s post came a day after he shared another post with a screenshot suggesting that only “high status males” should be able to participate in government because women (and men with “low testosterone”) are not capable of critical thought. Musk posted it to his 196 million followers with the comment, “interesting observation.”
However, this would exclude a big part of Trump electors and Musk fans, since they actually believed to their lies and persevere in their false perception of reality and society.
Tumblr media
Elon Musk is a child of Apartheid. He wasn’t radicalized, he was cultivated. View all his actions through that lense and it all makes sense.
Remember: Elon Musk said Bezos' ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott is destroying western civilization by donating billions to charities for women, minorities and marginalized groups, so in response she doubled her donations.
Elon Musk just unmasked himself as the tech world's poster boy for fascism, openly endorsing a dystopian vision where only "high-status males" rule. His pathetic attempt to masquerade as a free speech advocate crumbles, revealing a dangerous elitist who sneers at democracy and equality.

Buenos dias, amigos. Is a wonderful day to cause the downfall of AI! We all hate it, so let's work together
I got this idea to draw the most fucked up warped shit ever and post it, purposely letting AI scape it. I can't use Nightshade so I'll do what I can. If anyone else would like to contribute please do!
Fellow artists, let's poison our wells.
Edit: fair warning this might not work at all, but I'm having fun with it and if enough people join in it means AI will have less actual art to scrape from (on Tumblr at least)
Edit 2: I'll add a list of names on this pinned post. Any name mentioned has argued in support of AI or made the false claim it doesn't invade copyright or steal from us. We can defend the good parts of AI when its not being used to steal from us and replace us. Until then, we only protest in this house. DO NOT HARRASS OR ENGAGE WITH LISTED USERS this list is here for all us normal people to block, not attack!
@/Vergess ("debunking another stupid anti ai post from people who can't be bothered to actually learn about it")
@/demise-of-soul (literally said stealing art was good?)

I’m seeing so many people posting about glaze and nightshade and webglaze all being difficult to access and how frustrating that is which is valid!!
The answer is Cara!!! They partnered with Glaze and have their own web browser for running it and it doesn’t require jumping through hoops to gain access like WebGlaze. all you need is to make an account and BAM you have access. The one drawback is that they don’t have the bandwith to do it quickly so it can take a couple hours, but it doesn’t kill your computer to do so!
Here’s the link and i wish you all a happy glazing and ai ruining❤️
Also to opt out of tumblr forking over your content to train ai, you have to scroll past settings down to the bottom and click Visibility. It took me ages to find it as all the posts i found saying where to find it said it was in blog settings. Kinda feels like they’re intentionally making it hard to find…

Casual reminder that AI relies on us giving art a "passing glance" instead of sitting and noticing the details.
Check this post for the things I pointed out in the images in greater detail <3

So I got an ask (that might be a troll) saying that my art looks AI generated. And I just gotta ask, how??? First off, I'm kind of offended that my art was compared to the shitty abomination that is AI. Second, why would I waste my time feeding the Ai when I can just pick up a pencil and draw?? Third, at least my designs don't: - have inconsistent patterns - have fucked up looking hands - have stuff clipping into each other - have next to zero emotion Finally, I don't support Ai works of any kind here. And I like to think my art is actually good sooo Fellow artists, if you think that my art is AI generated, at least point out how it looks that way. Also Ai artists are not real artists. Ai is theft.
Fuck off

AI: my thoughts
Imagine a world where your dream job is certain to be rendered obsolete by a machine, now open your eyes and see the same image. I am an artist in our current age. My line of work is likely to be replaced by two quick lines of writing into an AI. Will I have to pursue a line of work I harbour no passion for due to the certainty of my likeness being stolen? An unfortunate amount of people hear anyone talking about these issues and disregard them, thinking “Oh no! Another nihilistic luddite screaming about the end of the world”, but I’m here to show you why these seemingly nihilistic claims have actual basis. AI, while promising, poses a threat to all who desire to join the workforce. Whether it’s the plagiarism that takes place in training an AI, the doors it opens for tech giants and other multimillion dollar companies to replace all workers with machines or even the fact that it steals from artists just to replace them, AI is a bigger issue than anyone could’ve ever imagined.
The main ethical quandary with generative AI is the fashion in how it learns. Machine learning, for the uneducated, works by archiving provided media into its vast data banks, in which it then uses to generate a “new” piece of media by stitching together anything similar. This, in a vacuum, isn’t inherently bad, however, its possibilities are. Closed source AI’s currently on the market have been fed copious amounts of media from copyrighted and privately owned sources with neither permission nor financial compensation. I would bet that at least half of you in this room are thinking “oh that’s not good! These AI’s should be sued!”, but that’s the thing, they can’t be. It is currently impossible to prove any specific piece of work has been used to train a generative AI, and it is too impossible to state any piece of work produced by one is copyrighted, as it steals from so many different sources, the origins obscure each other. This isn’t just image generating AI’s either, chatGPT and Gemini are text based generative AI that have both been proven to not only regurgitate copyrighted work; such as Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, but completely make up fake historical events due to such! Most terrifyingly, voice replicating AIs such as Voice.AI and elevenlabs and deepfake AIs such Synthesia and TopApps not only pose a threat to the entire entertainment industry, but to the reliability and reputation of all digital footage. This potential replacement of all white collar work with no chance of enacting any legal repercussions leaves AI manufacturers and consumers to perpetrate this plagiarism and leaves little room for human-made work that genuinely contains soul.
“The rich get richer”. It’s a saying parodying the quote “You need money to make money”, which is quite relevant when talking about the ethical concerns behind AI. The media giants and other mega-corporations everyone gets mad at are only going to be fueled by the introduction of AI, the only reason they haven’t taken the leap is because of the public perception of AI and the writer’s strike that happened in protest of it! Casual use of AI, for personal use or purely for a joke between friends is an endorsement of AI use in general, and therefore the use of copyrighted imagery and replacement of workers by these corporations. Until some actual policies regarding the use of artificial intelligence in corporate context come into play, any use of AI, wholesome or not, endorses the self-destructive abstraction of one’s own job. I had a similar conversation with a previous friend, and here is an argument they had to say: “all productivity improvements take some jobs but if there were no productivity improvements ever there would be the same amount of jobs but everyone would be poor”. This is a poor argument due to the fact that every time a new innovation such as this has threatened jobs, there have always been union labour laws put in place to prevent such issues. However, with the speed at which AI is being developed, legislation has been struggling to keep up with the necessary interventions due to its lack of priority in all political contexts.
As previously stated, I am an artist, a voice actor specifically. My job is being actively replaced by AI, by ripping the voices out of people's throats. Disregarding the security issues especially in politics for now, any person with enough footage of someone and a powerful enough AI model can steal someone’s voice just to use it for free. It is evident that this poses a COLOSSAL threat to the entertainment industry. And not just voices! Any artist can be completely replaced by their own artwork! This is disgusting. Semi-personal anecdote here, but I heard a story, from a fellow voice actor, where they did an over-the-phone audition. I heard a story where this “over-the-phone audition” was an elaborate scam used to train an AI off of their voice, rendering them completely obsolete because they were betrayed by their own voice. This isn’t just an exaggerated story thought up for some irrelevant emphasis, this is a genuine threat that exists right now. Artists might have to stop sharing their passions in fear that by sharing them, the AI conglomerates will devour their work and spit it back out, soulless and deformed, but cheap and fast. What makes art compelling? What is art if not created by an artist? If art reflects a person's life and experience, what is “art” created by a machine? It’s nothing, it’s absolutely nothing.
So what is there to do about it? I’ll tell you, protest! Go on strike! That’s right! How else are we going to grab our government's attention? The most famous protest in history was the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, and guess what, it was famous not only because it was successful, but because this was when Martin Luther King Jr. made his famous speech. Quoted directly from an article from resilience.org published in 2024 “Suppose a movement to ban AI were to succeed. In that case, it might break our collective fever dream of neoliberal capitalism so that people and their governments finally recognize the need to set limits.” Make some noise! Get mad! Are you really going to let these machines steal your job? Your voice? What makes you human? No. We, the people, will overcome this threat, and we will take down this mechanical menace. So go out there, express your opinions, use your voice, use the rights you are entitled to as a human being to speak out against the use of AI. And remember, “silence in the face of injustice is equal to complicity”.

I woke up kinda mad at ai stolen art some weeks ago and finally took it out on the canvas.
ID: a digital drawing that features a brown wolf falling down while they bite a blue robotic dog. The wolf looks angrily at the viewer, there are tears coming down their face, and the dark, blue oil coming out of the robot is sprayed in their face; in its turn, the robot is stabbing the wolf in their belly with one of its hind legs, the blood sprays everywhere. One of the robot's legs has come off and falls separately. End ID.
