I wanna express my sincerest gratitude to you for inspiring me to draw more, to explore other styles and media references, to challenge myself with new poses or new formats of art, and to not be afraid of talking to people out there! The last parts seems funny, but I'm really so glad I stuck my head out of my hole and began writing more and more in the language I know I started lacking skill in.

So... Now I have hope that one day I too will be able to turn my own little corner of fandom into some cozy space where people would enjoy themselves and be silly, horny or obsessed with lore crumbs. Yay!!

Playing around with the kaulitz mums makeup and bill copying what you do and doing it on himself but yk messy cuz yall are 8.

Helping tom with his dreads up keep or just raking your nails through his dreads aswell as bill or brushing out the hair spray in bills hair after a concert.

After bill went to star church and he only comes 2nd you comfort him by you and tom doing silly things like falling over or making funny faces and only stopping when bill cant breath cause hes laughing to hard

When its yours or theirs birthday you always do a cake smash where you 3 just make a total mess of the dining table and just trash it.

When your having a sleepover you 3 go to the park with like a cig each and smoke it while hiding in one of those plastic tubes that you hide in and when ever you heard something you would snuff it out and peek out of the holes in the tube.

When tom had told both of you he had lost his virginity you and bill made a cake with like a lil card and candles with icing congratulating him about it

When you got your first boyfriend and they saw you and that person holding hands then doing a cute lil peck on the lips they would scrub your hand till RED same with your face it would look like you had red lipstick smudge

If you were neighbours with them you 3 would have friday nights bbqs your parents would still and drink while you 3 would be running out of each house causing a muck and would end up sleeping on the trampoline

Your parents would also do like a carpool rotation so they would take turns taking you 3 into school and out of it

In school you and bill would hide under the bleachers during lunch and would gossip about what was happening in school or just people you didn't like

You three doing dress up and being all cute and stuff like tom being dressed as a dragon, you as a knight and bill as a lil princess being stuck in the tree house and tom pretending to kill him while you come in a save him

You sneaking over climbing through their window with your parents wine but spitting it out on the ground cause of the taste and putting it back like nothing happened

If you guys went on school exhibitions you would always try and be together and try and complete they scavenger hunts before the other groups you would always be super competitive

You three would do drawing comps and get your parents to judge but because they don't wanna be rude they say you 3 tied but being competitive little 9 year olds you start yelling at them to pick a winner and that you wont be sad if one of the other win (bill cry's when he don't win then tom calls him a sore loser (only when he wins tho)

Being the only girl you have some ups and downs they might be a little bit softer on you but not a lot you would also get teased a lot if it was windy and your hair was getting messed up.

Trying to bake and you 3 just end up throwing flour at each other and you and tom ending up on the floor brawling over who was going to mix but bill just ends up doing rolling his eyes.

At carnivals you 3 would get matching stick on tattoos like tom would get a lion bill would get a tiger and you would get a leopard all on your arm like a sleeve and would look in the mirror flexing and posing.

Every now and again you get beg tom enough to put makeup over him give him a make up tom usually ruins it by drawing a fake mustach on himself with eyeliner when you and bill rent looking

Yayyyy finished a drawing! Haha only took me...2 weeks. I kept going back and forth on whether I could finish it tonight, and I really wasn't going to. But then I looked at the unfinished version on a different screen and was like oh? Not too bad actually?? So I finished it :) First of all, ofc, here is the process. Kinda weird seeing it for smth like this, it makes me feel like I'm the painter in rennaisance au, not Mark dhjfkf

Ah I was gonna draw a silly renaissance au comic to accompany this(read: lighten the mood), but it's 5 am and I've still not really drafted it well, so! I'd like to finish it at some point bcs I wanna draw more chibi comics, but when I finish smth, I can't help but immediately want to post it, so part 2 will have to wait. I'll show you the outline though so you can at least imagine 😭

^ So many renaissance and beyond paintings of Saint Sebastian are always the most horny thing ever. Like pre/early rennaisance, yeah he was naked and all that, but they were pretty chaste, and uhhhhh suffering?? Well the newer paintings are suffering, but in a different way, if you know what I mean.

So I feel like Mark's the type to be overly pedantic about it, and refuses to make borderline porn of a saint, I mean, god forbid, Seb!!! But then he just. Does anyways. Because he can't control his lust for Seb even when drawing him half dead. I just imagine him holding the paintbrush in a death grip like "must not be horny. Must not draw him sexy. Must make him chaste." And then he ends up with the one seen above. Seb is all smug about it. "Wow you'd wanna fuck me even while I'm all bloody and dying? 🥺"

Mark: "oh I'll make you bloody, alright."

But god so funny to imagine Seb doing all these different slutty poses, like arching his back as much as possible, the cloth nearly falling off at all times, etc etc. And Mark finally lands on this pose bcs he hopes the suffering will outweigh the horny. It doesn't. Also Seb is genuinely serious once he actually gets into the pose, focus mode on. And honestly that's even worse for Mark, bcs it's so much more arousing to see Seb in his element, focused. Tbf I think Seb could be drinking water, and Mark would still find some way to sexualize it. Don't look at his sketches!! They're just filled with Seb doing all kinds of random activities.

I wanted to give this question some thought, because I really do love doing fun poses with my characters

Maybe it’s kinda weird, but when I think about posing characters, I think about dolls, and my lifelong obsession with super articulated dolls (bjd and the like). Obviously doll articulation is a lot better nowadays, but back then it was barbies with stiff legs and a bent arm, I’d get so excited if they could move their limbs in more ways than the usual. I’m not sure why. Maybe it was kind of a stim for me, but even imagining dolls with articulation makes me quite happy and always has. The poseability and hold-ability is very important to me.

How this translates to art is, my younger siblings and I werent really… allowed to do anything but draw and stay in the kitchen, especially as we got older. So naturally our dolls became words we could say, and most of all it was art we could make. In a way, my personal art has always been playing, so it makes sense that my love of articulation would translate over to my ocs

I used to write a lot of comics for us and we’d all animate stories into silly long gifs. It wasnt ever a question of if we could or if it was skillful, that was just how we played. It just came naturally and without much doubt, our skills built up over uhhh all our lives. (Not saying it was great, but it wasnt even a question of quality)

So I guess my inspiration is my inner child(ren), and I’m really happy that I have the skillsets that makes it so easy to make them happy.

I do commissions for a living too, and with every piece I can’t help but think that the commissioner probably wants the most of their character shown off as possible, so I need to pose in a pleasing way that struts their stuff. That has to get creative when you’ve done probably 500+ commissions =v=;

TLDR: i want to hold my characters like dolls and play with them, the end

3. A character that fandom had helped you appreciate:

Again, Skimbleshanks. I was neutral on him, (still loved him lots, just not that passionate).

This is mostly because all I knew is that he was silly and he did rly well in the 2019 movie, (and my dad’s infamous skimble hatred. Truly what is his problem). But!!! Thanks mostly in part to @mysticalcats’s propaganda (ily lots bestie) I grew to truly appreciate our favorite train cat. He truly is the cat of the railway train.

7. Your favorite tropes to read/write/draw

I have a ton!!!! For reading, I really appreciate the ✨dramatics✨. Huge fan of Macavity and Misto fics, a lot of really interesting concepts there that I love a lot. Also seeing the backstory of some of the kittens (Skimble finding Misto and Vicci fic ILYYYY 🫶).

Writing is tough because it’s kind of an on and off thing. Writing Jemima’s perspective is really fun, and so is writing dialogue and humor for the cats. I especially liked writing a scene that included Bombalurina and Demeter together, they’re so sweet.

None of it’s really that good, but it’s self indulgent in a rly specific way and it’s nice to play around with.

DRAWING IS THE BEST EVER 🫶🫶🫶 I like doing pintrest poses with different cats, cat oc art is my favorite in the world, I loved that one era where I just. Collected random OCs and painted them.

One of my favorite works is the Bluebelle and Bluebeard painting I did, I love angst art SO fucking much, and I wish I did/saw more of it 💔

It is so funny to me that Leo basically looks so worried and/or like he is is going through it in some way in ever trailer and/or teaser basically.

Nice to see some more of him being more confident, silly, dramatic, and cocky though in the new teaser. Because those can be so him too.

It was also very cool to see more Donnie in the new teaser, he wasn't in the last one much, and he got some cool/nice stuff in the newest one. My dude is really worried about his brothers.

Anyways, done rambling about the new trailer. I was sad it TOTTMNT didn't come out in April, but if it coming out in August means the people behind the series can take it easier and try to give a better series, I can wait. August isn't too far off anyways.

Last of all, just like a picture of urs with TMNT 2012 Rise and Leo redesigns, and thought they looked great! Esp. TMNT 2012's ones, but Rise Leo's looked great too

(and I still love Leo having red eyes. I hope people start giving TMNT MM Leo red eyes, because 1. I think they are cool and I now really like Leo w/ red eyes, 2. I just think they would suit TMNT Leo's dinosaur-looking person, and 3. I thought I saw a screenshot of the movie, like a close-up, of some ending scenes when Leo wasn't wearing his mask and was going to school and wearing normal clothes, that looked his eyes were (kind of) red)

The Tales of the TMNT trailer

Honestly, I have a lot of hope the show will be pretty cool!

I loved the scenes where it implies that the turtles will have their own solo missions. This could possibly be all in one episode where they are all alone but I don't know. I'm also excited to see how much their personalities are expanded on.

From what I've seen we also got the purple dragons revealed! I like Hun and Angel so far. Especially Angel, I think she is the leader of the Purple Dragons now within this iteration. I really hope they bring back old classic characters. Personally I have always thought that Mutant mayhem would take more inspo from tmnt 1987 which I really hope that is the case and they bring back fan favorite characters.

I was honestly shocked to see Bishop as a woman. But honestly, she looks badass. I'm kind of laughing my ass of at her being a grumpy old ass grandma who has beef with literal teenagers. I do wanna see what her deal is though. Maybe she is working for Cynthia?

Speaking of- I wonder where she is? I really hope she isn't just thrown to the side or something. It seemed like they were building towards something with her character. Also, just from her last name Utrom, it's clear they might introduce the Kraang or even just the Utroms. Maybe both as well-

I genuinely hope Shredder comes in. I wanna see him really bad. Like I said I hope they bring the classic characters back.

April looks really stunning and I already love her. I really wanna see her relationship with not just Leo but also the other turtles as well.

I will be honest I genuinely thought the show was gonna be 3D animated. I was a little upset but, I immediately fell in love with the art style simply because it reminds me of a comic sort of art style.

Overall, high hopes for this show!

He’s basically this universes Barbie, being everywhere and having many doll runs up to modern day

here’s his base if you wanna put funny little outfits on him

Error is similar to a preskool style toy, (with the play sets unlocking when you twist the figures) but combined with a a playmobil

he’s a sans figure from a different set that Frisk dribble all over because they didn’t want two of the same character and his face was really misprinted

The Dreemurr Family are in-universe Calico Critter equivalents

Some people say they’re creepy bc of the eyes but many people collect them

the lore of them on the back of the is they’re aliens but that’s not super important

Chara is from a kinder surprise toy, and their sweater is loose because it’s from a Dreemurr Family set and isn’t made to fit them

Toriel and Asgore are not together

Nightmare is apart of the Monster High-counterpart brand, and had a villain arc in an animated movie when his brother, Dream, decided to stay at the in universe Ever After High equivalent instead of coming back

his apple and tentacule pattern reappears in his jacket btw, I just didn’t feel like drawing it

Killer is dollar store bootleg Dream doll painted like the Sans figure His eyes are drippy bc the paint was wet when they packed him and the makers used too much of it He’s a bootleg of a kitchen set, hence the knife

He always follows nighmare around (made up by Frisk, to be clear)

I haven’t drawn the rest of the nightmare’s gang yet, but here’s the info

Dust is a Fresh bootleg with some different body parts but a bootlegger fresh head, so his proportions are strange And his seam on his torso is craking open and is held together with a rubber band His limbs always come out and he smells like chemicals

Horror is an action figure for some Walking Dead style show that Frisk got attached to and begged to buy him until their parents relented

haven’t drawn Mettaton yet, but he’s a competing fashion doll to Fresh, with his gimick being that his legs and arms pose like the lil guys above

the rest of his body is a normal fashion doll

Frisk gave him a chainsaw from Horror’s set and pained it pink and glittery

His box looks like his box form in the game (thanks for the idea, @paintedplum7 btw! Hope the @ is ok)

Fresh hates him, according to Frisk

Napstablook is probably one of these squishy mochi toys but I haven’t decided yet

Gaster is mad scientist themed putty, which “melts” like the picture above.

He has a plastic head part with goggles taht strap on, and comes with two hands each holding test tubes which you stick in the putty with the head to form his body

Vinny is apart of the Fresh line

He was originally a Fresh doll with a unique outfit, but was quickly given made his own character

he has molded on hair for sure. Except for Totally Hair Vinny, ofc

his full name is vinegar.

sans and papyrus are both evil skeleton guys who come in an evil cave lair set. Frisk decided they weren’t evil tho, so their personalities are exactly like canon.

Mad mew new is one is those super nice anime figures with multiple hands and faces

Alphys is a dinosaur figure like these. Made totally of vinyls and was pretty cheap. she was printed with a pretty silly face (this is a positive) She happens to fit a lab coat outfit and glasses Frisk has, thus becoming the alphys we know.

Undyne is a action figure from an old he-man type show. She is dating Alphys according to Frisk

Ink is a fashion doll, similar in style and proportions to the Rainbow High line. He’s not a high schooler though, he’s from one of those inspirational style lines. He’s an artist who is all about how cool being an artist for a career is. There’s other dolls in his line for different careers

Ccino is a strawberry shortcake style doll, who in his base outfit comes in a cafe with his cats. he’s scented like either coffee or French vanilla depending on if you got the early release or not. what happened with the change is a bunch of senstive parnets complained about his original scent and the coffee in his cafe, saying it was “too adult”, so he was changed to French vanilla, and the coffee in his cafe changed to hot cocoa

his cats are alls scented too, and flocked. they’re all named after competing doll brands/toy brand’s character (like how the real ccino has cats named after the au characters), which got his company into a lot of legal trouble lol

You can see some of them in the other character art above.

he’s only had two releases (the coffee and French vanilla versions) due to the companies financial troubles and all the lawsuits and no other character exist in his universe. ( :[ )

these r two characters my best friend and I made for a VERY COOL webcomic we're in the process of creating - mavis (redhead) and her currently unnamed girlfriend because we needed side characters and I felt like she deserved a sapphic relationship 😌

i did use a reference for the pose/clothes but it turned out way better than I was expecting??? kind of insane??

anyway if you want more deets about the characters uhh under the cut bc I want to tell people about this so bad😭

Mavis (full name mavis nic coitir) is the bassist of a 5 person band in a world pretty much the same as our own except there's monsters n magic n people have powers n shit. dont think about it too hard the world building isn't designed for scrutiny.

Mavis' "power"/ability is mostly that she's just freakishly smart. she's the tech junkie of the group, the gadget girl, all that jazz - and also the biggest pop culture nerd ever. she's also the mom friend, she had adhd, she's 20 years old, Irish, and born on the 10th of february. she's a total loser and also the coolest person you'll ever meet.

she has a shit ton of awesome body mods/cyborgy stuff (which I didn't draw because I didnt feel like it💀), including a prosthetic arm - all of which she made herself.

she (like all of our other characters) is an amalgamation of a bunch of different traits and tropes we thought would be funny or cool, and also because I cant keep my sticky fingers out of anything, is losely inspired by one piece characters (namely franky and nami) - again, like most of our other characters💀

i, being a faggot, needed to give her a girlfriend and my friend said "sure :D". I thought it would be funny if she, being the loser ever, somehow pulled like. a beautiful celebrity or actress. and I think the idea in my head has now kind of morphed into like...a really cool artist/content creator who lives in their city and who everyone knows...so like microcelebrity...but still a celebrity to mavis's band mates. I havent yet run this past my friend, but I'm thinking some flavour of blasian for the gf.

also these aren't their actual outfits I just drew the clothes that were on the reference cos it was easier and also I think I am a lot better at drawing clothing folds now so win win. for the record mavis normally wears like an oversized band/pop culture tshirt and some old cargo pants/overalls.

25. Laser Tag Gone Wrong - The Next Mutation

Some thoughts on "The Good Dragon" (S1E23). I've said before Venus and Raph are besties in this show, and I stand by that, but they also give off baby sister and big brother vibes, especially in this episode. It adds an interesting perspective when they butt heads over Raph being too protective and Venus declaring she doesn't need protecting. This is true; she kicks serious shell, and Raph knows it.

ACTUALLY WAIT, DO YOU KNOW WHAT INTERPRETATION WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER?? THEY BOTH THINK OF THEMSELF AS THE OLDER SIBLING. This is perfect. Venus was so sad when Leo said they weren't related (part of my list of things to ignore). I swear she wanted to be their mysterious, long-lost sister so bad. So I imagine she gets to New York, meets the guys, and is like, ah yes, four little brothers, how exciting I've always wanted to be a sister. But Raph, who is the protector ever, meets Venus and is like, ay sweet, baby sis acquired. You guys, I'm so big brain for this. Okay, on to the actual episode.

If I remember correctly from a post you made last year (if not just see this as a casual thank you without an occasion) today should be your birthday so I just wanted to send some well wishes and congrats your way. Your writing always brings a smile to my face and I’m so grateful you are here sharing these beautifully heartwrenching, silly, funny and lovely stories with us. Like I’m not even kidding. When I’m having a really rough day they always have the power to make me forget for at least a little bit, sometimes they even turn my mood completely. And when I was having a good day before I’m just walking around smiling like an idiot afterwards (or going to sleep like that). I love that for me. I hope you continue to enjoy writing them as much as we love reading them and that my comments maybe also bring a smile to your face. As a little thank you I wanted to draw you something. It was my first time drawing 3 people and using a 3D model to make the poses which was actually quite fun. Im gonna keep experimenting with that. It’s not my best work but I still kinda like it. Like I always do, I startet planning this since said post but haven’t started it till yesterday, oops. Since I didn’t have as much time as I had liked (because of beginning that late and me being exhausted from work) it endend up being black and white without real shading. Spiderverse Lore backstory:

When rifts in the multiverse opened to pull different variations of Spider-Man to Miles’s home dimension, a rift also opened up in Sofia’s home dimension, which is similar to dimension 1218. The interaction between Miles’s home dimension 1610 and her home dimension 2803 caused a catastrophic temporal rift that attempted to pull her into miles’ dimension, but failed. This resulted in her physical and temporal being becoming unstable. She constantly phases in and out of time, experiencing disjointed memories and struggled to maintain a stable existence. Her presence in her dimension began to cause temporal disturbances and paradoxes, ultimately causing her to become the second known anomaly in the multiverse.

Sofia's temporal instability poses a challenge to maintaining canon events across the multiverse. Her phasing in and out of time could inadvertently create disruptions and deviations from the established timeline, potentially leading to butterfly effects and altering the course of important events.

Recognizing the risk that Sofia’s presence could pose to the stability of her home dimension, Miguel O’Hara sensed the disturbance and intervened by removing Sofia from her home dimension. He kept brought her to his universe so that he could study her condition in a controlled environment and find a solution to stabilize her condition to prevent further disruptions. Sofia essentially becomes the first ever anomaly studied under the spider society.

Miguel creates a temporal stabilizer bracelet for Sofia that needs to undergo personalized calibration based on Sofia’s unique temporal signature. Miguel has to personally fine tune the device to her specific temporal patterns and fluctuations, as her temporal flux can get glitchy as time goes on.

Due to the nature of her temporal flux, sofia is no longer allowed to return to her home dimension. She remains at Miguel’s dimension so that he can continue studying her molecular structure with the intention of figuring out a way to return her to her normal condition and use that to fix the aftermath of anomalies that wreak havoc in other dimensions within the multiverse.

Sofia's temporal instability poses a challenge to maintaining canon events across the multiverse. Her phasing in and out of time could inadvertently create disruptions and deviations from the established timeline, potentially leading to butterfly effects and altering the course of important events.

Despite the accommodations that Miguel implemented, sofia still struggles with the effects of the temporal rift.

Along with her temporal instability, Sofia also experiences physical disruptions. Her body phases in and out of existence, sometimes causing her to become intangible or partially transparent. This instability leads to a constant feeling of unease, as she can never fully trust her own physical presence. It also makes basic tasks challenging, as she struggles to interact with objects or even maintain her balance when phasing in and out of time.

Occasionally, and only under overwhelming circumstances, Sofia phases through time itself. She does not do it physically, but in a mental manner as though she is experiencing an echo. Sofia's phasing in and out of time leads to fragmented memories. She experiences events from her past, present, and future all at once, making it challenging to differentiate between what has already happened and what is yet to come.

Her suit is also equipped with a temporal synchronization module that establishes a temporary link between her temporal state and the dimension that she enters. The module analyzes the time flow and chronology of the dimension she is in and recalibrates Sofia’s own temporal patterns to match. The synchronization allows her to temporarily synchronize her existence with the dimension so that she does not experience disruptive phasing effects.

As Eddie's van trundled along towards Leia's place, he felt uneasy and his heart felt heavy, conflicted. After their call last night Eddie couldn't help ruminating over what might be the matter, and why Leia wouldn't open up to him. Though he reminded himself, to be fair, that he hadn't told her about his past...about the upside-down. After he hung up the phone, he'd spent hours staring up at the ceiling, fingers plucking away idly at his guitar as he posed dead end questions to himself.

Has Sam reappearing scared her off of ever getting close to men again? Did Ferguson threaten her because of me. Fuck...did she lose her job? What...what if she found someone else? Good god, what if Harrington swooped in? What if she's too afraid to tell me?

Eventually, mercifully, Wayne, Dale, and Gareth surprised him at his trailer, beers and take away in hand to celebrate his GED. Mid-egg roll Gareth mumbled, “So when are you gonna call her?”

“Disgusting, Gareth,” Wayne scolded, “Finish chewing before you talk, you little shit!” then turned to his nephew, “Well, kid?”

Eddie sighed, “I already did.”

They all spoke at once, yelling over each other until Eddie shushed them. “I didn't ask her out.”

Wayne smacked Eddie upside the head. Eddie exclaimed, “Fuck! Will everyone please stop doing that! I'm gonna get a concussion.”

Gareth chimed in, “We wouldn't have to if you would grow some balls and ask her already!”

Eddie took his time slurping up noodles so he could avoid responding.

Dale sighed. “Well, you have tomorrow with her, working the party. You boys better play your heart out on stage. Girls love guys in a band.”

Gareth smirked. “Yeah, maybe if you were Mick Jagger back in the day, but it's not exactly like that now, old man.”

Dale huffed and raised a warning finger to Gareth. “Eddie, you two are on the earlier shift. Robin and Harrington are closing so you're free to go after your set with the band, and I swear to Christ almighty if that girl doesn't leave with your arm around her, you will never hear the end of it from any of us.”

They all nodded in agreement.

Eddie stabbed at his food with his chopsticks. “It's not that easy. Ferguson's giving her hell at the community college, and I think it's all because of me being friendly with her. That asshole always had it out for me and I think he's taking it out on her. She might lose her job,” he explained running an agitated hand through his mop of hair. “What the fuck do I say to her? 'Hey, I know I kind of got you screamed at a few times and maybe fired but do you wanna go out sometime?' She'd have every right to smack me harder than you two did, but she's too sweet to ever do that. She's the last person to deserve all this shit.”

He said the last part softly and sweetly, thinking of her, and though they wouldn't admit it, the guys were too touched to even tease him about it. Instead, Wayne put his arm around his nephew and patted his back, “Yeah. She's sweet and good, and you're good too. Life is hard and it's full of bullshit like jobs and bills and asshole bosses and layoffs...but if you can find someone to hang on to through all of that, it's worth it. You go through it together.” Wayne looked Eddie in the eye, “You both deserve a lot better than life's given you so far. It's about time good things start happening, don't you think?”

Eddie mumbled a “yeah, maybe,” then they spent the rest of their time together laughing through their troubles. When they all cracked open their fortune cookies Gareth snatched the little paper from Eddie's hand and scribbled “ASK HER OUT!!” in red pen over the top, before throwing it back at him, drawing a cackle from him.

Eddie's mind snapped back to the present as he caught sight of Leia walking across the lot to him. He cracked a big silly grin when he looked her over, his worry melting away in wonder at her. She was wearing a white robe (probably a repurposed sheet she'd sewn herself), and her long black hair was twisted up into two thick buns over each ear.

No fucking way. Eddie thought, looking down at his dark pants, vest and white shirt. He'd dressed up as Han Solo, and here she was as Princess Leia. As she slid into the passenger seat, they both laughed in unison, faces brightening from concerned expressions to pure joy as they realized their situation. “You look fantastic, Eddie!” she said, beaming.

“So do you, Your Highness.”

“Scruffy-lookin' nerfherder,” she said, smacking him playfully on the shoulder, as he turned the key and resumed their course.

Robin, and Steve were already behind the bar when Eddie and Leia came in, decked out in their old Scoops, Ahoy! uniforms.

Robin bounded clumsily towards her, babbling and shaking her hand forcefully. “Hey Leia! I'm Robin. I know we haven't met yet. Dale only calls us in on super busy nights. It's gonna be super busy! Are you ready? I think I'm ready...nervous though. Wow. That's a great costume...Wait, is that a couple's costume? That's fucking adorable...”

Leia chuckled and shook her head, feeling a bit of social whiplash from Robin's greeting. She politely introduced herself, smiling and easing Robin's nerves with her calm voice. Steve chimed in saying, “Alright, buddy. That's enough,” stopping his housemate's antics before she could put her foot any further in her mouth. He came around to introduce himself as well, first giving Eddie a hug and pat on the back saying “hey, man,” with a big smile. It all seemed odd to Leia. She knew they all had gone to school together, had grown up together, but she would never have thought these two guys with such strong and divergent personalities could end up as friends; not just acquaintances but actual close friends.

The teacher watched them, and thought to herself that they had the kind of dynamic that some of her students who were war buddies also possessed; the familiarity of people who'd been in the trenches together, all superficial indicators of social placement rendered meaningless in light of something much bigger. She was painfully curious about what the whole story was, and what it had to do with Eddie's mental and physical scars.

Eddie clapped his hands together announcing, “Right. I gotta go set up the equipment. I'll see you later, wonder twins.” He turned to Leia, meeting her eyes and saying softly, “You gonna be alright?”

“Yeah! Of course. Thanks, Eddie.” She patted his shoulder. “Go ahead.”

Robin buzzed around running back and forth from storage to check and stock, but Steve and Leia were content to set up everything behind the bar in relative quiet until Leia couldn't suppress her curiosity any longer.

“Hey, Steve.”

“Yeah?” he responded, “What's up?” as he finished organizing the till and came over to her.

She asked, hesitantly, “How...how do you and Eddie know each other so well? You don't seem like...like you'd...”

“Hang out together under any normal circumstances?” he said, finishing her question with a crooked grin and a bob of his thick brown hair.

“Yeah,” Leia said quietly, looking down as she toweled off a pint glass absently. “What was it you all went through 15 years ago?”

Steve let out a long breath and put his hands on his hips, dark, expressive eyebrows peaked. “You are...very perceptive, Leia Vespero.”

She glanced back at him. “I used to be a good researcher...and...you don't have to tell me if you'd rather not, but I will be doing my homework at the local library and archives anyway. So, by telling me anything you're not breaking confidences, just saving me time at the microfiche machine.”

“Well, since you put it that way,” he said with a knowing smile. “Alright...it was big local news at the time. There was a girl, Chrissy, in Eddie's grade. She was a cheerleader...real high school royalty. Eddie was selling weed at the time and she was a customer, which is how she ended up at his trailer one night.”

He paused, taking a deep breath and pausing to think about how he might explain all the surreal, horrific mess of what they went through in believable terms. “There was a serial killer loose at the time. I don't know if news of that reached Chicago.”

She knitted her brow thoughtfully and replied, “Oh...yeah...I was little at the time but I remember something about a killer in Indiana.”

“Yeah...exactly. So...this killer came for Chrissy while they were in Eddie's trailer...killed her right in front of Eddie, and he had to run. He got away but it weighed on him.”

Leia took in a sharp breath, and shook her head in disbelief, “Jesus...but that's not his fault. There was nothing he could have done for her.”

Steve nodded sadly. “Yeah. We know, but Eddie never entirely forgave himself. Anyway, Eddie got away with his life but the whole town already hated him in the wake of all that Satanic panic bullshit that was big at the time.” Steve huffed indignantly and rolled his eyes. “As if being a little weird means you're evil. So...anyway...they all jumped to the conclusion that Eddie did it, when he was really just at the wrong place at the wrong time, and also a victim. So he went into hiding, ran off and ended up in...a bad place...was stuck there for a long time until we found him, barely alive.”

“'We' being you, Robin...?”

“Yup...and Wayne and the younger kids who were part of that game group too...the Hellfire Club. Smart little shits, and pretty good detectives. Well, they're not little kids now, obviously. Still feels like it sometimes, though. Eddie and I were mentors to them, and we're all still close. I guess that happens when you go through something like this.”

“That took guts. Finding him, bringing him back, standing up for him.”

“Thanks, but we weren't trying to be heroes. We just wanted to find our friend and we didn't want anyone else dead. It was horrible, how this town treated him. It was like an old movie, with the mob coming for a monster, and Ferguson came right out with the sharpest pitchfork. The killer has been dead for years now, and Eddie's been cleared, but there are still idiots...a lot of them...who think Eddie had something to do with it all along, when really he saved a lot of other people from that psychopath in the end.”

She sighed, “Holy shit! That's a lot to take in. No wonder he doesn't talk about it.” She paused, calculating her next questions, then asked, “Why is he still here, Steve? Why wouldn't he get the hell out of Hawkins?”

The door opened and a group of people came in. Eddie vaulted off the stage where he was running wires to scream “Henderson!!!”at a guy with curly hair as he tumbled into a hug. A slew of others came up, all hugging and greeting Eddie like their best friend and big brother all rolled into one.

Steve shrugged, and nodded toward the scene, putting a hand on her shoulder in an affable way. “I guess he had some pretty good reasons to stay. And if he didn't, he wouldn't have met you.”

Leia couldn't help the grin that spread over her face. She'd never seen Eddie like this; beloved, cared for, and she was glad to see it. It warmed her heart after hearing about the hell he'd been through. Leia realized finally, fully, that the crowd of people who adored Eddie was just as strong as the mob that hated him. His social circle was a crowded room, full of friendships with deep roots, long histories, and literal survival.

Although she hated to admit it, Leia felt a deep ache of envy, as she contrasted Eddie's supportive circle with her own lonely existence. She considered that there might not be room for her in Eddie's life, in his heart. A cruel voice inside of her sliced through her other thoughts; a voice that sounded like her mother, and like Sam.

Stop grasping for him. He doesn't need you. Don't start needing him. It'll only hurt more when he also throws you away like everyone else has, when you're not enough...when you disappoint him too. Apainful, tight, lump formed in her throat, as she began to settle on a terrible, painful, decision.

Maybe Ferguson is doing me a favor, trying to chase me out of Hawkins, trying to keep me isolated. I didn't belong here in the first place and I have no right to be here. I need to leave before I just make a disaster of everything here too. I need to get out of everyone's way...especially Eddie's.

She swallowed the lump down and blinked away the tears that were threatening to emerge as she suddenly said, “Hey, Steve. I just need to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back, okay.”

“Hey, wait. Are you okay?” he asked, returning his hand to her shoulder and meeting her eyes.

“Yeah, fine,” she said in a clipped tone with a fake smile as she hurried away. Steve watched her retreat, totally perplexed.

In the run-down bathroom Leia no sooner closed the stall door and sat on the closed toilet lid than she began to sob, trying her best to keep it utterly silent in case patrons came in. She felt the ache of her decision shred her heart to pieces. She loved him. God, she loved him, and she would have to let him go, and she would have to pretend she was fine for the entire shift as he looked heartrendingly handsome and perfect and oozing with charisma up on that stage. She realized, worst of all, she might have to watch him go home with some other girl, because who wouldn't fall in love with him, especially tonight?

HELLO THERE PEOPLE OF TODAY AND ROBOTS OF TOMORROW! IT'S ME, CLARK!

Happy National Cartoonists Day, everyone! What, you didn't think my current computer crisis would stop me from celebrating the Holiday, did ya? Actually, it almost did. Y'see, despite this piece being drawn by hand, my computer's scanner wouldn't save the file onto my craptop. My computer's going through a processing error, meaning it's set to stop working any day now. Fortunately this hunk'a junk managed to work just long enough for me to upload the newest Sketch BOOM! Yes my friends, the Sketch BOOM is back! I figured if I could only post one thing for NCD it might as well be something covered head to toe with cartoons. Some pretty well drawn cartoons too, if you pardon me tootin' my own horn. It just feels so good to have drawn something, have it come out looking as good as it does, and to be able to upload it here on tumblr for you all to see. For the record though, screw tumblr's stupid@$$ upload size limit, I freak'n hate websites that do that! It makes me as mad as a blood-cursed Croczilla fighting a sentient mobile home, but we'll get to that in a bit. For now though, let's see what silly sketches managed to make their way onto the page, starting from the top left corner and making our way down.

Don't forget to be on the lookout for the Snow Conies, the tiny sentient species of snow cones that have invaded almost every part of the page! Can you spot all 8?

[1] DID SOMEONE SAY PIZZA? You wanna know what the downside is of drawing at the bottom of the page and working your way up is? You have tiny pockets of blank space that you're unsure what to do with. Such was the case was this corner, having been left blank after drawing #2. For a while I thought of filling the void with a cosmically charged Snow Conie in the same vein at Rosie, but the Cosmic Cutie was already part of the BOOM due to Discord shenanigans. Instead I opted for a Clarktoon that sadly hasn't been drawn in a while, that being the ever-goofy Pizza Monster. No doubt he was lured here by the scent of all the pretzel pizzas I've been eating lately. While he was here I decided to experiment with his expressions, adding more cheek to his smile. Honestly I think he looked better without them. Still, I'm happy to see him here as I hope all of you are. Now if only he'd stop hogging all the grub!

[2] EYE OF THE THERIAN Rosie isn't the only character here due to Discord shenanigans. At the beginning of every month my friend @Foxhatart opens herself up to sketch suggestions on her Kofi page. For the record, those of you wanting to help out another artist keep food in their bellies can click here. With a few of these Kofi slots still left open, Fox came to her friends asking if they had any ideas for pics involving her characters. Not knowing a ton about her characters, I joked that she ott'a draw her half-lemur girl Cath bench press a bus, her freakish strength having become a reoccurring gag via game nights. Funny as the idea was, I didn't expect Fox to actually do it. You can imagine my surprise when this popped up in my inbox a few days later. Consider this doodle a long overdue 'thank you'. Here we see the crazy Cath lifting weights with, of all peeps, Bumper! No doubt the little marshmallow's here for moral support since he can't actually build up any muscle mass. Ghost problems, am I right? Hope you enjoy this silly little sketch, Fox. Next time I'll have Cath bench-pressing your mortal nemesis; a train.

[3] TOOK ME LONG ENOUGH Despite what I said about Pizza Monster, he actually wasn't the last sketch to be included. No, that honor goes to the metal mercenary, the bodacious bot bounty hunter, the anarchistic anti-hero herself; Candy Banger! Much like the aforementioned monster I figured it had been too long since I drew Candy or really any of the robotic cast of 3K. Atop of that, Candy represented a good chance for me to use the stockpile of poses I've saved up from a thumb drive. Using one from a tumblr site called @posereference turned out to be surprisingly easier than anticipated, the only real flaw in the end being how I colored her. This is one of many coloring errors I made on this piece, Candy's hair looking more bluish purple than I had intended. Still, considering I drew her at all, I doubt Candy's complaining. Here's hoping I can draw more of her in the future, otherwise I might be riddled with bullet holes like that wall behind her. 

[4] AN AVERAGE DAY AT WHIMSYLAND And thus we've arrived to the first sketch of this compilation given to me by a friend, this one coming from @jackieariane. She and I both suffered during the Chapek administration of Disney, Jart regaling me with tales of when she dealt with rude customers at Animal Kingdom. It reminded me of when my friends AnimatedTigerGirl and RigbyH00ves worked at the Floridan Park too, all three of my companions having a surprisingly miserable experience. All these stories started melting together in my brain until I asked the question; what would happen if Brooklyn Nine Nine was set at Disneyland? Thus Whimsyland was born, albeit originally out of spite towards Chapek. I already detailed all this back in the DUDELZ from the Dumpster I posted earlier this year, but I failed to mention the human protagonist of this story, Wendy. Having been to Whimsyland once in her life at a young age, the young Vietnamese gal with OCD was immediately smitten by the place, vowing she'd someday work there. Spending the rest of her life researching the park and watching Matt Whimsy documentaries on uView, you can imagine Wendy's disappointment when she returned to the Perkiest Place on the Planet to find nothing was as perky. Whimsyland had lost its whimsy. It's here where she met Freddy Fox, the cartoon mascot of the company living in exile over how the house Matt built is being run today. In other words, what I'd imagine Mickey would be doing if he were real. Together these two kindred spirits are set to bring magic back to this wonderland! Overall I'm pleased with how the sketch turned out, though Wendy's face reminds me of my character Sue the Game Genie more than I'd prefer. Also, Fred Fox is way bigger than intended, no doubt I'll be changing that for future depictions of these two. For now though, this drawing has just enough Whimsy for my liking. 

[5] CROCZILLA: BLOOD CURSE More Discord Shenanigans! This time it's the result of a Dungeons & Dragons campaign that @burningthrucelluloid somehow roped me into yet again. Instead of robots and dragons set in a medieval fantasy however, this time it's elves and crocodiles in an approximation of the American south. One ruled by Jerimiah Strahd, a ruthless blood-sucking bastard that Alec based off Leonardo DiCaprio's character from Django Unchained. If that wasn't a sign of how crazy this campaign has become, here's an actual moment from the game. The heroic but hesitant human Jason (YoungSamurai18), the loud-mouthed scaredy cat Toby (Mr-Herp-Derp), and the silent but deadly Ed (void-android), and the equally hungry and adventurous Crocie (me, of course) were hunting for a witch named Bubba Lysiga when all of a sudden the witch brought her mobile home to life in order to attack our heroes. Worse still, she put Ed under mind control to attack his comrades. Croc got the worst of it, his HP dropping to 0 due to him falling from the house and getting stomped on by its gigantic set of wooden chicken legs. Did I mention this campaign gets strange? Well it got even crazier when a dark, shadowy entity housed in Croc's body suddenly gave him a recharge, the reptile taking the chance to mix a Heat and Growth potion he obtained earlier to become CROCZILLA! It was a moment Alec was hoping would happen in game and I didn't intend on disappointing. Same goes for this sketch, it mostly going just as envisioned in my head. The pissed off look on my green friend's face, the damage done to the rusty trailer that is the witch's house, the tiny silhouettes of Croc's teammates in said home, the heavy fog, the Earth-shattering roar in the background, it all came out great. Save for one detail. You'll notice that Croc's eyes are black with red irises in this pic. That detail's due to Croc having blood curse abilities, hence the dark entity sharing rental space in his body. As such, you'd think Croc's fire breath would be just as vibrantly red, but sadly that idea didn't occur to me until after I made the fire blue as well as the shine off every surface. Spam it! Still, coloring hiccup aside, I'm mighty proud of this pic! Hopefully so are the rest of the Barovian Bozos that make up my team. 

[6] WONDER ZIGGY, CINEPHILE FROM THE PLANET GARBONZA EVEN MORE DISCORD SHENANIGANS! Cut to a few months back and I was restructuring my Discord server, cutting down the multiple move threads it had before merging them all into one. Being the story-driven bozo I am, I quickly wrote a backstory for this thread involving an alien named Ziggy falling in love with the Earth B-Movies he was picking up on his deep space probe. So much so that he came down to our planet only to discover there were even MORE types of movies for him to enjoy! It overwhelmed him so much that he blacked out, awakening the next day having purchased a since abandoned drive-in theater on the outskirts of Clarksburg. Faced with this new impulse purchase, Ziggy followed the oldest piece of wisdom known to man or alien; Screw it. After a refurb Ziggy reopened the drive-in, screening B Movies and cinematic shlock to an appreciative public. And if you can believe it, I typed all of that out after thinking about it for five minutes. My brain is weird like that. All that said, it'd take a couple of RP sessions before I got his personality down, that being an MST3K character if the show were written by Joe-Bob Briggs. In other words, a surprisingly well educated weirdo with a deep love of Hollywood history. It'd take me a while longer before finally sketching him, basing him off the titular villain from Robot Monster, an appropriate design for someone who loves old, cheesy movies. All he was missing was a pink Hawaiian shirt and a cowboy hat. If you think he's strange, you should meet his wife Wanda, though let's save that for a future BOOM...

[7] LOOKIN' SPAM GOOD! What better way to show my friends I care than drawing them in ridiculous outfits? This sketch, the first to be included in this BOOM, is a merging of two repurposed ideas I had for other pictures. The first would've involved the Swedish menace Finjix with a fish bowl on his head much to the confusion of Alec, the recipient of a kawaii make over. I can't remember where the fishbowl idea spawned from but Sir Alec the Adorable came from him scoffing at the idea that I could make anything cute, himself included. Just you wait Alec, I'll get you someday! For now though I swapped out making him uber-adorable in favor of dressing him up like the Wasp from Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the awesome animated show he finally binge-watched on my behalf. Granted I could've drawn him as Maria Hill, the character on the show he deemed the sexiest, but it wouldn't have been as funny. After all, all Maria's outfit is a blue jumpsuit. Far less interesting than Jart's leather jacket, an image that popped into my noggin following her telling me she's learning to ride a bike. That and me desperately clinging onto the back as she gave me a ride, but that would've been harder to draw. Instead I went for the jacket, a fashion statement that would be stupid in real life since she lives in the infamously hot country of Vietnam. Yet even in the face of logic, Jart not only humored me but encouraged me to include this in the final sketch. Thank goodness she did cuz I love how it turned out, minus the green stripes that were accidentally colored black like the rest. DRATS! Not only that but she informed me that she was no longer using her fursona, instead opting to draw herself as a human from now on. DOUBLE DRATS! Ah well, I have more ideas involving 'Trang the Tyrant' as I've nicknamed her, so chances are I'll get the chance to correct both mistakes in the future. It might also give me another chance to draw myself as Super Giraffe, which was what I originally intended to do with my own fursona. Sadly the costume still needs work so instead I opted for my classic Pagonian Wizard robes. Even in the face of all these snafus, I think we all look spam good!

[8] ROSIE STARDUST, SPACE WIZARD Turns out I'm always right even when I'm spewing nonsense. Don't believe me? Plenty of peeps have made that mistake before. Take my friend Alec for example. In the midst of him running the current Strahd campaign I mentioned earlier, I jokingly tossed out the idea of Rosie transporting our heroes out of Barovia and into another universe. A cute 'What If' scenario the Dungeon Master wasted no time in shooting down. Mistaking my silly suggestion as a legit one, Alec explained how unfair it'd be for a god to play a game with a bunch of mortal meatbags. Let the record show that I never declared the sentient Einstein-Rosen Bridge to be a deity. Some alien cultures have mistaken her from one, but Rosie herself would be the first to tell you she's no holy being. Not that any of that mattered. Alec held firm to his statement, Rosie was denied access to any dungeons. For about six seconds before my buddy realized how a depowered Rosie would make a wonderful wizard for a Spelljammers campaign. Fueling this fire was his recent watching of The Owl House, imagining Rosie rocking wizard robes similar to those worn by The Good Witch Azura. Before I could say, "NOW EAT THIS SUCKA," he was leading the charge on my server of peeps demanding I draw Rosie as a space wizard. At first I was floored at the audacity! You shoot down an idea that wasn't meant to be taken seriously only for you to turn around and do so anyway? MAKE UP YOUR SPAM MIND! Then I followed Alec's example and got over it, the idea of Rosie in wizards robes too tempting a sketch not to capitalize on. In the end the only aspect of Azura that made it into the final product was the hat, minus the cute lil' crown. Everything else took cues from the fashion of @cherrysdesigns along with a style @girlofhearts101 turned me towards called whimsigoth. All of which resulting in an costume that gave Alec 'David Bowie Ziggy Stardust vibes'. It's thanks to that comment that Rosie now has a last name. Everyone, say hello to Rosie Stardust, universal explorer and space wizard!

[9] DIREKTOR AND 3D1T0-R Is there a Hollywood equivalent in the Star Wars universe? Some sort of glamorous planet where overpaid alien celebrities are shamelessly rebooting beloved classics for a profit? All while amazing writers are getting screwed out of the earnings they deserve? This was what I asked Alec during his binge watching of The Clone Wars. Surprising me once more, the Masked Maniac revealed that he had asked SIM-N the same question before, the two creating a character called The Direktor for their Monova comics. Her whole gimmick was producing hypnotic propaganda for the tyrannical Twin Emperors, a cool concept that never went anywhere due to the robotroll cutting From Destiny's Ashes short. Being the character man that I am, I decided The Direktor couldn't go to waste. Especially when she'd make such a good villain in the world of 3K and a good addition to this BOOM. After asking SIM-N for the character's original reference sheet I set out to give her a Clarktoon makeover while watching cutscenes of The Second Sister from Jedi: Fallen Order. No doubt Elizabeth Grullon's intimidating vocal performance effected my outcome, the alien movie maker now sporting a streamlined outfit along with a smugly sinister smile on her face. As apposed to her boss, the Direktor's little droid 3D1T0-R hardly changed in the transition. He was a little creepy ball to start and he's still a little creepy ball now. One that was cooked up by Alec according to SIM-N, which makes sense given our pal's passion for film editing. Once the two were fully drawn I decided to test out my shading and lighting techniques in an attempt to make her look more menacing. If the response I got from the others on Discord is any indication, I succeeded. Indeed, this fem fatale filmmaker will fit in phenomenally as a 3K villain. Now the question is to who? 

[10] JURAKISS Finally we conclude things with a sketch somewhat prompted by @zernna. Way back in August of last year she was commissioned to draw my cretaceous crusader Saura and her girlfriend Patricia enjoying a delightful day at the pool, a pic as charming as that description would imply. In my comment thanking Ze I couldn't help but laugh at how the two had already been declared a cute couple despite how I hadn't drawn the two together in my own artwork yet. The Alien Artist than demanded I draw 'moar art of them then', prompting me to ask if that was a challenge. She said yes. Though not from a lack of trying, it took me nine freak'n months to meet that challenge. Blame that on me being a picky artist since I have been meaning to draw references of these characters in the meantime. After all, Zerna got asked to draw Saura in other pics without having any color references for the Blue Beast of Fosslin. Fortunately Saura's shown up in a number of previous Sketch BOOMs, now getting to share the spotlight with Patricia here. A Patricia that would've been notably paler were it not for Alec asking if I had any markers that matched Patricia's skin tone. I didn't, but the local hobby store did! Who knew Sharpie made skintone markers? It not only helped me color in the cute Muslim girl here, but also Cath and Wendy later on. Talk about a perfect purchase! Now if only the colors of Patricia's outfit were as satisfactory. Ah well, there's always next time, since I'm pretty sure Zerna's challenge still stands. XP For now though, I hope you all enjoy this compilations of crazy scribblings fresh from my mind. If you didn't, worry not, chances are I'll be making another one soon....

These are dated April 4 2023. Short hair redesign thoughts have been floating around in my head for a while.

at one point I wanted to make a bunch of talksprite-like graphics for use in thumbnails or videos and stuff. They feel outdated now. No date attached, but they're at least a year old. Probably older.

each pose had multiple different facial expressions for them by the way, but that's too much for this thread.

Alt artwork for my cover of Mili's Mirror Mirror. I liked this idea more than what I went with, but didn't wanna draw all those mirrors.

Some kind of angel/imp design. Clearly derivative of my own design, but I don't remember the context for it. It looks kinda cool though. Kind of inspired by some Kirby stuff.

dated April 3 2023. I think I drew it when I wasn't feeling great about myself, i dunno. The colors are nice.

i drew this with my mouse in mspaint after i bought the full version of Synthesizer V with Kevin. (essentially, I bought some Vocaloids, kinda)

Mai is a free voice that comes with SynthV. I only used her once, but then ignored her for Kevin. I like Kevin :)

So, this one is a new design based on an old design. Its kind of a representation of a 2018 version of me. I would've used it for a video idea I had involving a flashback sequence, but I kinda had to scrap it.
