rp ideas i'm obsessed with but will obviously never open

skeleton rp set in a theatre, following the production of an original musical with every single role in the building having a skeleton (cast, crew, foh, orchestra, security) down to specifics of who's at the merch stall and who's in the ensemble but u/s leading man, plot drops involving the development of the show, showmances, backstage drama, the app count being the casting call, unfollows being the end of contract & characters who are being unfollowed being cast members that take their last bow & foh that quit/leave, anybody brought in after opening being new, and the only aspect of the production being npc being the creative team and the main is run as if from their perspective.

small town rp with heavy inspo from british soaps - wildly intricate and overlapping family connections with each new character needing to have some sort of connection to preexisting characters (maybe 3+ each to avoid bubbling) and all the insane amount of drama, no need for storyline and plot approval as anything goes and the more soap-like and dramatic, the better. definitely mumu with no character cap. massive families, kill characters off when you get bored, run a plotline with six possible baby daddies, long lost siblings, the wildest events known to man to shake things up, a safe space for absolute chaos

city rp where the only thing the characters have in common is have at least 30k followers on tiktok (for whatever reason - influencers, mummy vloggers, professional in x sharing their expertise, someone who given their friend's old popular account, literally just has followers because they're pretty, sibling of more sucessful tiktoker, sketch comedians, celebrity that just so happens to have an account, person who went viral once and got followers but hasn't posted anything since, etc)

rp set at a music festival, again including everyone (artists, crew, security, vendors, festival go-ers) with a few weeks to write out the events of the weekend -- make it a longer one for plot sake, thursday to sunday or something -- and then time jump to the same festival the following year with a shake up and some slight shifts (maybe a mumu for character swapping-out purposes, but there's always repeat artists and loads of people go to the same fetival every year) rinse and repeat every few weeks, detailing the lives of these people at this yearly festival with fun time jumps and only getting a snippet into this one weekend each year. lots of fun and potential.

This is going to be a long post, and I apologise for that. However I do not apologise for putting my boundaries as clear as possible, and will not apologise for doing so. All of the rules below exist for a reason, and I have them for my own comfort.

It is okay if you don’t agree with them BUT IT’S NOT OKAY TO IGNORE THEM. If you think you cannot follow the posted rules, then do not follow this blog. Thank you !!

General

These are the basics, a re-hash of rules that almost everyone has but that I like to cover anyway just in case!

Read ALL important pages: rules, disclaimer, muse list & info for the muse(s) you want to interact with

Use proper punctuation and spellings to the best of your abilities

Mark clearly whether an ask is IC or OOC

No godmodding

No maiming, killing, etc. of my muses without my permission

No choosing of thoughts or big actions of my muses without my permission

Hate, anon or otherwise, will be reported and deleted. Users will be blocked.

There may be an occasional mention that I do this if there’s some kind of repeat, but I will not place the content itself on the dash.

These are some of the rules that have been established over time for my own sake, and to make everyone’s time on here a lot easier!

The more fandoms covered and more muses included, the less likely I am to hop on board mostly because I prefer a clean dash.

If we’re close friends ooc I’ll likely be far more lenient

OCs with a main spn-canon faceclaim will not be accepted unless the muse has been around longer than the canon being cast or if they look/act markedly different than the canon ( Karen Gillan with all her hair vs as Nebula, for example ).

Again, OCs with mcu-canon faceclaims will not be interacted with unless they meet at least one of the two criteria listed above.

Shipping

There will be a good deal of F/F, F/M, and M/M on this blog both in visual and text.

May ( read: probably will ) include three+somes.

Implication and mention to graphically clear are likely, and will be tagged.

By default, ALL my muses are single, with the noted exceptions of Frigga ( until Odin chooses to pass ) Dugan and Peggy if it’s circa 1952-after, and Sam who is widowed and single post-2012, unless plotted otherwise.

Please don’t assume there will be a ship between your muse and mine without plotting first, positively or negatively !!

Specific to Peggys: don’t be alarmed by my above warning, Dugan/Peg is my muses only and not something I expect to be followed. I will also not expect a ship with Steve.

specific to Steves: I will not expect a ship with Peggy, Bucky, or Sharon

However, Bucky loves Steve, bordering on obsessively. Whether it’s platonic, romantic, or completely one-sided pining is up to plotting and muse chemistry.

if we are writing stucky, Bucky is the one who will be in it first.

James is incredibly anxious about dealing with Steve for many reasons, and more anxious about the possibility of infringing on Bucky’s territory.

It is one of few ships that will require Bucky’s active participation if you want James involved, because James will refuse Steve otherwise.

if we are writing steggy, it will not be eg-canon compliant

Specific to Peppers: Tony cares ( depending on point in time, deeply ) for her, but I will not expect a ship and it must be plotted out.

They could be exes, almosts, currently dating, platonically attached, whatever we would like! But it must be plotted.

specifically for Janes: I do not automatically lead with fosterson! My default is somewhere between slow burn infatuation or mutual, friendly separation. Thor adores her in any type of relationship though, and supports her endeavors and enthusiasms

For Bucky and James, dating one of them does not mean you have to be dating the other.

It would be marginally easier depending on time and verse tho

Specifically for Natashas: I include the generality of James being at the Red Room, but we must plot about including the affair or not. It is not my default canon.

if we are defaulting to winterwidow, James is the one most familiar with her, not Bucky. James was the fronting personality when they originally met, and Bucky’s recollection of events will be hazy if present at all.

If you want to ship Nat with Bucky, it must be plotted and must account for the prior/continuing relationship with James

For Sharon, she has no romantic interest in men ( yes including Steve ).

if she ends up with a comics-inclined verse this may change but will still require heavy plotting.

I will not be ship-exclusive with any blogs

I will have mains but it’s on unofficial terms

For all my writing partners: I will happily plot ships, and details! But I won’t have an assumed prior romantic/sexual history between our muses.

3. What current rp trend do you hate?

honestly i am so focused on my own little sandbox that i am SO out of the loop on what’s popular on the playground. are teeny-tiny icons still a thing? are people still doing that? i mean, granted, some of my icons are dark & not always super clear, but idk, if i can’t make some kind of sense out of an icon or at least find some aesthetic appeal in it, i just don’t see the point in using icons? but honestly tho, y’all, do what makes you happy. i’m not going to NOT rp with someone based on icons or formatting.

10. Have you ever had a bad experience with commissions? As either someone who makes them or as someone who buys them?

omg thankfully no! i don’t think i’ve heard of a lot of bad experiences either, really. i don’t doubt that some people have been burned on either end, so caution should always be utilized when shopping for commissioners. i am just fortunate enough to have not had any bad experiences, but i’m also kinda poor and also...a little proud? like i would rather make my own icons & graphics and then if someone compliments me on them i can have that warm & fuzzy feeling of ownership of the awesome. definitely not saying i’ll NEVER commission someone else for graphics or themes, just that i haven’t done so yet.

19. Do you delete anon hate or post and address it? Why?

okay so i’ve been doing tumblr rp since 2014 and in all that time, i may have received one ask that was anon hate. i did have my name submitted to one of those gross burnbook blogs that were all the rage ( i’m sure they still exist in a corner of the internet i don’t feel the need to venture into ) for my loki blog. yes, i reblogged it on my blog and i’ve definitely thought back on it from time to time. it hurt, even if i knew there wasn’t really a lot of merit to what that person said. if they didn’t like the way i played my muse, they were happy to unfollow me. i would have been less hurt by losing followers than being publically smeared like that, but whatever. to each their own, i guess.

anyways, i haven’t been completely immune to the grossness of the internet, but it’s not a thing i have to think about on a day-to-day basis. if someone were to shoot me some anon hate right now though, i’d probably delete it. depending on what was said, it might hurt me, might put me in a funk for the rest of the day, and i’d probably mull over it with my girlfriend, but ultimately any person who feels the need to hurt a stranger on the internet ( someone who makes an extra effort to actually send me an ask -- and y’all, i have less than 100 followers so someone would REALLY have to feel some kinda way to care enough about a measly mumu blog just minding their business ) isn’t someone whose opinion i value. i have better things to spend my time on than ppl who want to be assholes, and much better vibes to actually give my energy to.

regarding recent absences

And other such updates!

If you want the tl;dr, here it is: my mental health isn’t in the greatest place right now, and I figured I ought to explain why I must ask you for continued patience for the snail speed on this blog. I’m not announcing official hiatus, but just know that I...might continue to be pretty scarce, but I’m trying my best to be here and to be writing here. To hopefully get me more active here, I plan on dropping a few threads and cleaning out my dash re: people who follow me but aren’t writing with me. You’re more than welcome to keep following me if I unfollow you, and if you want to write with me and just haven’t gotten the chance and would like me to re-follow you, pls just go ahead and shoot me an im. I will be making a separate post about both those things, it’s just that I can’t deal with how fast my dash is moving at the moment.

If you care for the long version, under the cut so as to not bother everyone else!!! Be warned that it’s uh...it’s l o n g. TW for depression and anxiety and the general things my brain does to me lolol.

Wow I haven’t used the post title function in a l o n g time. Anyway, hi, it’s me, Ro, your friendly neighborhood mun of a 20+ muse mumu. Don’t let the kind-of-serious format scare you - nothing bad is happening. I just have a few things that I felt the need to address that have been happening either in my life or just in my screwed up brain :D Buckle in and get ready for the ride, I guess?

Starting with something y’all already know about - I’ve not been here a lot recently. I joke about that a lot, but really, if you catch the pattern, my activity here is: exclusively after 10 pm, 2 drafts at most a day, inbox straight up clogged from like a month ago. IMS basically desolate, because I haven’t worked up the courage to pick them back up since I last forgot about them in the endless stream of things I had to do about a month ago! (that being said, uh, if you want to talk to me your best bet is probably through discord. Ro#6782 - pls, mutuals only, and tell me who you are!)

And - because I h a t e being that mun that reblogs memes and asks for for them and then never answers their askbox / puts out starter calls when she has 10000 drafts / puts out plotting calls when she has unanswered ims, (no problem at all when other people do this but somehow when it’s m e I’m like “no you’re a terrible person”???? hmmm), I’ve also been avoiding t h o s e. If you’re new and you followed me in the last month, I’ve been putting out n o t h i n g that indicates a willingness to interact with new/more people, while the opposite is true. I’m always willing to interact - if I follow back, I want to write with you, only, well, aforementioned issue aside, I also have m o r e problems.

Namely, IRL and the fucked up thing called my brain.

As most of you know, I got a job ~end of may or early juuuune~ and....well it’s pretty damn time consuming. I can’t have my phone during the course of my job - by the way, 4 hours - and so in those 4 hours (from 4 pm to 8 pm) I can basically get nothing done here. Then there’s also the fact that the time my shift is placed mentally and physically drains me a lot. Because it starts at 4, most of my morning is spent thinking “god I don’t wanna go to work” and because it ends at 8, most of my evening is spent trying very hard not to doze off. It also drains me a lot socially - I work at a call center, and all day I’m basically calling people who don’t want me to call them and are very irate even when they pick up, and uh, that already doesn’t do well for my anxiety haha.

The other thing, of course - is my sort-of-seasonal depression. Winter tends to equate to anxiety for me, and summer tends to equate to depression. Again, I think I’ve joked about this a lot, but I apparently can only do drafts when I have 3 finals tomorrow and I haven’t studied for any of them. When it’s break, I get into a really weird slump - when i wake up in the morning, I don’t really want to wake up, and sometimes just stare at the wall for like, an hour. Nothing that I enjoyed during the other months, I seem to enjoy doing now. There’s too much time and too little time. It’s like i spent the whole day doing absolutely nothing meaningful but I can’t break myself out of the cycle so I keep doing that, rinse and repeat day after day, and sometimes my definition of spending time is just lying down in bed again and doing nothing for an hour randomly in the middle of the day. I feel guilty for wasting time as much as I am clueless as to how to fill it in a fulfilling way. “But Ro, you could do drafts!” A Concerned Person May Say. “You like writing!” Well, Kind Person, on some of these days, absolutely n o t h i n g Sparks Joy.

“But Ro, I follow you on your other blog too!” The Concerned Person might continue.“You’re kind of active there, aren’t you?” And the answer, Kind Person who supported my career even if that blog is mostly obscure af fandoms - is yes. I am kind of active on my other blog, @storyblcd. This brings us to the third and final reason why I’m.....moving at snail’s speed here, and that, my good friend - is anxiety. Well, mixed with a certain amount of mental exhaustion, of course. Note: this is n o t anyone’s fault. People’s interactions with me have not been negative - and they are not responsible for how my brain chooses to reaact to it.

I’ve not lost muse for the muses on this blog, per se - but I’m getting burned out really fast writing them, for multiple reasons. First, muse imbalance. Now I know, I definitely k n o w - that sometimes people like one muse more than another, or have more interest in writing with one or the other, and I get that. I’ve said multiple multiple times that that is p e r f e c t l y fine. But honestly the reason I’ve lasted so long on a multimuse is because I can pick which muse I have muse for when, and I can respond accordingly / ask for interactions accordingly. But when I get so many people coming at me at once for the o n e muse when I have t w e n t y it sometimes gets a little? Discouraging? It makes me question whether or not only that one muse is popular for a reason. It also exhausts me re: the portrayal of that muse, because I”m putting out so many replies for that muse in a lot of sort of similar plots/scenarios that I just get burnt right out. And then I get scared that if I keep going I’ll want to drop the muse, so I’m staying away from those threads a little bit.

Second, I’m at a point in my portrayal of certain muses where I feel like there’s a certain expectation for how it’s going to be. My personal feelings aside, I think every mun expects their own portrayal to be different and unique and exciting - and it’s not different for me, only now I feel like the expectation and the pressure of coming up with something good and meaningful outweighs the feeling of exploration as I’m “discovering” the muse. Like most writers - I still crave validation, though more and more lately, I’m at a place in my writing where I f e e l like me from 2 months ago could have probably done a better job. While it’s not necessarily true, and these pressures are coming from m e and not any outside source, I f e e l like I have to consistently Make Good Writing, and simultaneously feel like some days I sit down and I try to do drafts and all I write is garbage. It just - doesn’t feel the same? So - more and more, I’m staring at the empty drafts page and then closing it - because if I don’t w r i t e I don’t have to admit I peaked two months ago.

Both of these reasons have made me rather a bit avoidant of my muses here / this blog. Now, I’ve been struggling with anxiety for long enough that I know that a lot of this is - well, p r o b a b l y just my brain lying to me. See even as I’m writing this post now, my anxiety is saying “haha guess what n o one cares you’ve been gone” and my rational Anxiety-is-a-stupid-asshole voice is saying “nahhhhhh your brain is probably just lying to you.” But! In the battle, anxiety is kind of pummeling me now. I will r i s e again and win the war, most likely - but for now it’s anxiety: 1 and ro: 0.

AND finally - if you made it all the way down here, you’re a c h a m p. The solution! Well, as much of a solution as I’m hoping to get anyway - we’ll have to see if it implements well. I’m going to unfollow a few blogs so I can get my dash cleaner/more organized/less fast-moving and b r e a t h e. I’m going to drop a couple of threads, I might make a couple more muses request only/exclusive only for the like 2 people that have threads with them, I might drop a couple muses (though I don’t think this will really happen, Idk tho). There will be separate posts on those things coming soon, this is just to notify y’all. People are here for all of your muses. If people did not want to see Kim they would just unfollow. Unless you want the make a new blog for him so you can stop writing Karl and Hank, the multimuse is fine!

|| I mean... yeah, that's a nice way of thinking and I appreciate it if it's the case - BUT.

I know for a fact that some people are here for certain muses - and that's totally okay! In fact, I follow MuMu's myself for maybe only one or two of their muses (sometimes even more of course, depending on the fandom). So it's totally normal for people to not want to interact with a certain muse (and that's not something I'm actually mad at or weird about, because hell, I am the same. If a MuMu has 20 muses, I may only want to interact with 3 of them - and it's okay for people who follow me to only like, for example, 1 of my muses).

I am really not complaining about it - not in 'that' way. It's really just the struggle of knowing that Kim, while he IS a canon muse, isn't known enough to be considered a canon-muse, and therefore he's basically an OC. In between two very well known canon-muses (Hank and Karl). I can totally understand if someone prefers to interact with the 'well known muses' they actually are familiar with from games, videos, movies, whatever, simply because there's a connection there. If I were a Resident Evil only blog, and I would be there to only RP with Resident Evil canon muses, I'd do the same. I would look out for RE canon muses... esp my favorites. That's just how it is and that's okay! uwu

I hope my 'whining' didn't come across the wrong way - there was no ill intent behind it in any shape or form. I just know that I am incredibly focused on one muse right now that's... well, unknown. And that I may disappoint some people who follow me because they only want to interact with Hank or Karl... you know. And sometimes I'm just not even sure who follows for which muse - so if I follow back, they post memes, I have no idea if I could, theoretically, throw Kim at them, you know? While I probably would know at whom I would be able to throw Hank or Karl at.

EDIT: Also, I just keep sitting here thinking about the part: ‘[...] so you CAN stop writing Karl and Hank,[...].’ And I wonder if this is a small jab at me for basically not posting much about them since I made this blog. Hm.

Everything starts with rules and here are ours!

Out of Character:

No OOC drama! We don’t like it, and neither does anyone else. IC drama is perfectly fine, but no OOC drama. When it is brought to our attention, the admin team will address this issue right away and you will receive a warning. Please send screenshots in order to help us iron out issues. We hate having to ask for it, but it’s for our own benefit. If you have an issue with another player, please address us off-anon. We will keep your identity private and anything you say to us will stay between us.

We will have a three-strike activity policy. You get two warnings and the third warning, we will ask you to leave for now. However, you are always more than welcome to rejoin unless you’ve broken some cardinal rules.

Respect everyone! We are all human, which means we all deserve respect. We want the Lakeview environment to be fun-loving and easygoing and by doing that, we all must respect each other.

Do not send hate to the main or any of the characters. One, it’s not nice, and two, that isn’t what the roleplay is about. Hate will not be tolerated at all.

Reserves last for 24 hours from the time that we receive the message and acknowledge it. If you need more time, just shoot a message to the main and we will extend it. Reserves must be made off anon, but all accounts asked from will be kept secret.

This is a mature roleplay, so please do not lie about your age, we require everyone to be 21+. Please put your real age on the app, but we will keep your real age a secret and simply add “21+” to the OOC page, if desired. There is no maximum age, we welcome everyone.

Please place triggering self-posts and smut under “read more” with a tag of NSFW.

Do not racebend, whitewash, or genderwash. While it’s okay to have a cis face as nonbinary, we will not accept a nonbinary FC as cis

NO GODMODDING! No one likes it at all. So just don’t do it. If you do not know what godmodding is feel free to contact the main and we will discuss it with you. If you do end up godmodding, you will be given a warning, and if it happens again we will ask you to leave.

No metagaming. Metagaming is when you use OOC knowledge to reflect IC interactions. It’s a form of godmodding and it’s just really not cool.

Activity & Hiatuses:

Activity checks will be done every other Sunday and will be at 5pm EST! And then from there you have 48 hours to get your character active before the unfollowed is posted.

Self-paras, chats, replies,and paras count as activity. Posting photos, musing post, and music do not count as activity. Please do not reblog a bunch of photos in one day, it clogs up the dash.

We do allow hiatuses, if you are going out of town or work has been stressful or something shot us a message stating that you need a hiatus and when you will return. All hiatuses must have a return date.

Do not message an admin for a hiatus or an extension, as we cannot read each other’s DMs. If it’s an emergency, please message the main and assume we’ve gotten it. We will be sure to send you a message somehow!

If you need a semi-hiatus because life is becoming a bit busy, go ahead and shoot us a message of when you will return. We understand that life gets busy, we all have lives even us.

Solid activity counts as threads with at least three different muns.

Please post more than once a week, if we see that you are only posting once a week or so we will talk to you about it. Figure out what we can do to help, if it continues we will give you a warning.

In Character & Face Claims:

IC drama is more than welcome!

Stick to your character. In Lakeview, they are yours, so you created them. So just stick to your guns when it comes to them. Asking for permission is one thing.

Your face claim can be five years younger or five years older than their actual age.

Any major plots much like pregnancy, death, engagements, marriages, etc, must be ran through the main first. With pregnancy, we will only allow three at once. With major plots, we ask one per mun.

Interact with everyone! No bubble roleplaying. Please include everyone! If you are bubble roleplaying, you will be given a warning. If it happens again, you will be given another warning. If it happens one more time, you will be asked to leave the roleplay.

You are allowed to post 2 starters a week but you must answer 3 starters before posting your own. This makes sure that everyone is included, if you are caught violating this rule, you will receive a warning. Try to shoot for the starters that have the least notes. This is also case by case we’ll waive it every now and then if starters aren’t being posted.

Make sure once you get accepted to post your own starter and then reply to a couple.

Face claim changes are allowed but limited to three. We will allow one FC trial per mun which can last for a week.

Third person, no first person please. In example: ‘He walked into the bar, looking around for a moment before sitting down.’ VS ‘I walked into the bar, and I looked around before I decided to sit down.’ So please, third person all the way, not first person. Present tense is okay, but please have it written para-style and not with *actions*.

Multi-Characters:

You are allowed up to 30 characters. And we love diversity here so please make some POC or NB. 25% of each muns muses should be people of color. If you aren’t sure your faceclaim is a POC, please message the main and we will help you out with that.

You are allowed to apply for ten characters right off the bat and you can have as many characters that you think you can handle. If you choose just to apply for one character, you can apply for the second right away. Five must be white and the other five must be POC.

Your first character must be your primary blog, and then the rest can be sideblogs. Or you are allowed to use mumu since we have no character limit.

You may apply for the rest after your first activity check. We also reserve the right to deny any additional characters if we feel the activity isn’t matching up.

Activity must be steady on all characters. If we feel like your activity is slacking or see you favoring one character over the others, then you will not be allowed to pick up another character till the activity picks up on all of your characters.

You must have a POC and a non-binary character, if you have two white muses your third, fourth or fifth must be a POC and a non-binary. Please be aware of your face claim’s ethnicity, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Do not disrespect your face claim by not knowing how they identify.

We love younger muses but we also love older muses. Give us some 35 + muses! Try to make some of your muses 35+ please! The youngest for muses that we will go is 22 years old.

Discord:

We do have a discord! We will not just be using this for OOC chats but also some in character activity.

This does count as activity as well. This group is going to be half and half. half on tumblr and half on discord. As long as you are active in one and we can see you active it counts as activity.

Misc:

The gossip page is intended to be for entertainment purposes only and information posted should not be considered fact. Feel free to send stuff in, but do not use it as a way to bully members/characters.

Tasks will come, but these aren’t mandatory at all. These are just for fun and for you to fill out for your characters when you are able to do so or have the muse for it. We recommend them because they’re truly a fantastic tool to get to know your muse/s.

Events, much like tasks, will come from time to time. Once again, these aren’t always mandatory, but they are a fun way for characters to interact with other characters. If you have an idea for an event, we would love to hear it!

We will be incorporating small little events, such as turtle hatchings and business openings. Hurricanes will also be a plot drop, so stay tuned!

Last rule is have fun! That is what we want, is for everyone to have fun!
