Hrmm...the Matsus ain't super tech-savvy, but I wonder what kinda video games they would play?
Karamatsu you'd think would play dating sims, and he does, but that's 100% for research purposes. His actual favorite are racing games like GTA (Mario Kart is too competitive, his brothers always beat him) or other open world games.
Choromatsu tried Sims once cuz he thought he'd get to live the life he always wanted, but there was still too much RNG for him. He finds Rollercoaster Tycoon and the like calming.
Todomatsu goes on all the wikis so he knows exactly what is what for all the popular games so he can seem 'with it' but never played a single one. exclusively mobile games, like Wordscapes or Tetris, or Idle Games. The kinda stuff that he can just turn his brain off while still doing something.
Jyushimatsu plays FIFA Baseball, and is the bane of EA Sports cuz he is SUPER active on the forums and clogs their inboxes with emails about his (correct) opinions on how to better balance his favorites to win or who they should add to the roster. He also adores the WWE games, and has made extremely elaborate backstories for all his wrestlers. every one of his creations is a monster
You'd think that'd mean he'd like rpgs but they're too structured and too slow paced for his liking. Has a surprising amount of gamer rage and has destroyed the most controllers outta the brothers.
Osomatsu...plays steam porn games lolol. He strikes me more of a window browser, who'll just scroll endlessly and buy stuff that's on sale then never play them. he's got 3,000 games in his Steam library
The only one I can't pin down is Ichimatsu. Possibly psychological horror games, but rpgmaker or 'lower quality' games; Corpse Party and Ib and Misao and Off. Witch's House was also on the list but when it wanted him to do that to the Frog he probably smashed the TV/computer and swore never to play it again he was so upset.
He gets suuuuper attached to all the characters and gets real upset whenever something bad happens to any of them but he doesn't want his brothers to see him like that or know he likes stuff, so he never gets to play but that's fine he doesn't like games anyway (<- liar)

Is it ok to use a cane if your gait/balance issues are caused by a neurodivergence? I have to take antipsychotics and I have a lot of balance problems because of them, and I have a scissors gait, but since it’s technically a neurodivergence would it be ok to use a cane? I think it would have help to hold on to something because I do better when I have railings or walls to hold, but I don’t want to appropriate when I’m neurodivergent. I also have a mild chronic illness if that matters
1. if you feel like a cane would help you then i encourage you to go ahead and use one. it shouldn't matter what conditions you may or may not have or even if you see yourself as able-bodied. the only people who you might encounter that are interested in policing who can and can't use a cane are those serving the interests of ableist ideas about disability and mobility aid usage. if able-bodied people treat mobility aids like they're just fun accessories or something (not including canes that are literally made to be accessories instead of aids bc that's been a thing since forever) then yeah that's kinda nasty but "i have this issue where a cane might help me" isn't doing that.
2. not all forms of neurodivergence are (purely) psychiatric or other mental conditions. chiari malformations, brain diseases, chronic symptoms of neurotrauma, etc. are also forms of neurodivergence and those conditions are considered physical in nature. so "caused by a neurodivergence" ignores that because i think the implication there is that "neurodivergent" means "not physical condition." that's just me being nitpicky about terminology though.
tl;dr - yes, please use a cane if you feel it would improve your quality of life and especially if it's to help you walk more safely. you don't need anything more than that to be "justified" in using a mobility aid. i don't think they really something you can "appropriate," especially if you're going into it with the mindset of "i have a chronic gait problem and i want more support." canes aren't in short supply or anything and they're relatively inexpensive. you are experiencing chronic mobility impairment. it does not really matter what the origin is.
if you haven't looked into it already, i would recommend researching what types of grip and bases would be most helpful to you and your specific issues + whether you need one that's foldable and adjustable or one that can't be folded/adjusted but is overall sturdier.
best of luck!

society of HAIQIN
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
date: november 11, 2024
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The living Society of Haiqin
Society
Haiqin's society is deeply rooted in values of equality, harmony, and advancement. The structure is fluid, offering pathways for social mobility based on merit, contributions, and education, while ensuring a balance between progress and tradition.
Class Structure
Fluid Class System:
Haiqin's class system isn't rigidly defined, but it does show distinctions based on factors like wealth, education, and social contribution. Wealthy families and aristocracy still hold sway in certain sectors, yet individuals can rise through merit-based achievements such as education or societal contributions. The emphasis on meritocracy encourages innovation and intellectual growth, particularly among the younger generation.
Economic Disparities:
While there is no formal caste system, the wealth gap is significant between urban and rural areas. Urban centers, such as Haiqin's capital, offer advanced opportunities in education, business, and employment. In contrast, rural areas face challenges like limited access to infrastructure, resources, and services. This disparity can affect social mobility and quality of life but is gradually addressed through governmental initiatives aimed at providing better resources to the rural populace.
I don't think I need to address this again.
Education
Haiqin places a high value on education, seeing it as key to societal progress. The education system is structured to produce not only skilled professionals but also well-rounded individuals who understand their responsibility to society.
Structure and Values:
Education is mandatory, with primary and secondary education focusing on foundational knowledge and specialized skills. Primary education includes basic literacy, mathematics, and physical education, while secondary education has tracks for those pursuing higher education or vocational training. The curriculum is rich in philosophy, environmental studies, and traditional arts, emphasizing both critical thinking and creativity. STEM fields are equally prioritized for fostering innovation, alongside values such as empathy, responsibility, and sustainability.
Elite Institutions and Accessibility:
While there are prestigious "Academies of Excellence" that provide advanced networking and training opportunities, Haiqin has also made great strides in making education accessible to people from lower-income backgrounds. Scholarships are available for bright students, regardless of their social class, creating pathways for upward mobility. The nation believes that intellectual development should be available to all its citizens, particularly as it serves as the backbone of Haiqin's cultural and technological advancement.
Healthcare
Universal Healthcare:
Haiqin offers universal healthcare to all its citizens, ensuring that access to medical care is not restricted by economic status. The healthcare system focuses on preventive measures, public health initiatives, and widespread community health education. This reflects Haiqin's belief that a healthy society is a productive society.
Access and Quality:
Healthcare facilities in urban areas tend to be more advanced, offering cutting-edge technology and specialized treatments. The government is aware of disparities between urban and rural regions, and efforts are continually made to improve rural healthcare access. Telemedicine, mobile clinics, and traveling medical professionals are common ways to extend healthcare services to underserved populations.
Private Healthcare Options:
For those who can afford it, private healthcare offers faster services and access to specialized medical treatment. While these private institutions thrive, they are regulated to ensure that they do not create a stark divide in access to care.
Gender Roles
Haiqin is known for its progressive views on gender and sexuality, where individuals have the freedom to define their identities beyond traditional roles. Historically, women in Haiqin have held leadership roles in politics, military, and business.
Traditional and Fluid Roles:
Though traditional gender roles still exist, the country fosters a society that values fluidity, particularly regarding women’s roles. Women hold prominent positions, not only in domestic affairs but also in governance, the military, and other key areas. The presence of women in positions of power, such as Sloane Tuoapizan, has solidified Haiqin as an example of progressive gender equality.
Sexuality and Gender Identity:
Haiqin embraces a wide spectrum of gender identities and sexual orientations. Public campaigns are regularly conducted to promote respect and understanding for diverse identities, and societal norms increasingly reflect acceptance. Laws are in place to protect against discrimination, and advocacy groups work actively to educate the public on matters related to gender and sexuality.
Crime and Punishment
Justice System:
Haiqin has a justice system that balances punishment with rehabilitation. Minor crimes tend to result in fines or community service, while rehabilitation programs aim to reintegrate offenders into society. The justice system places emphasis on restorative justice, where the goal is to repair harm rather than merely punish.
Common Crimes:
Petty theft and property crimes are fairly common in Haiqin, often arising from economic disparities. Environmental violations, such as illegal logging or pollution, are harshly penalized given the nation’s commitment to environmental preservation. With the rise of technology, cybercrimes such as hacking and data theft are becoming more frequent, prompting new legislation and surveillance systems to combat these issues.
Punishments and Crimes
Common Crimes
Property Crimes: (Theft and Burglary)
Punishments:For theft or burglary, the justice system emphasizes rehabilitation over punishment. Common punishments include fines, community service, and restorative justice programs where offenders work directly with victims to make amends. For repeat offenders or more serious thefts, prison sentences may be imposed. In certain cases, a restorative justice circle is held, where both offender and victim meet with community members to discuss the impact and agree on steps to repair harm.
Environmental Violations:
Punishments:Environmental violations, such as illegal dumping or deforestation, are treated seriously due to Haiqin's commitment to sustainability. Offenders may face hefty fines, along with the requirement to participate in environmental restoration projects. In severe cases, the offender may be subjected to community labor to repair environmental damage, including tree planting or soil regeneration efforts. Jail time can be imposed for repeated or severe offenses that cause significant environmental harm.
Cybercrimes (Information Theft, Hacking, etc.)
Punishments: Cybercrimes, such as hacking, information theft, or unauthorized surveillance, are growing in Haiqin with the rise of technology. Punishments typically involve heavy fines and mandatory cybersecurity education programs to prevent future offenses. In cases of severe data breaches or espionage, offenders may be incarcerated for a set period and monitored after release. For crimes involving the exposure of state secrets, there may be higher penalties, including exile or longer prison terms, depending on the level of harm caused.
Treason and Severe Crimes
Treason
Punishments: Acts of treason or severe offenses against the state, such as espionage, betrayal, or assassination attempts on high-ranking officials, are considered the highest form of crime. Punishments for treason are harsh and often irreversible. The primary punishment is exile, where the offender is stripped of their citizenship and banished to a remote, uninhabited area with minimal resources, ensuring they cannot return. Exiled individuals may live out their lives in isolation or serve as labor for state projects, depending on the severity of their crime. In certain extreme cases, execution is reserved for the most egregious violations, such as betrayal of the nation leading to widespread harm.
Terrorism
Punishments: Terrorism, defined as the use of violence or threats to destabilize the government or society, is considered one of the gravest crimes. The punishment for terrorism typically includes execution or life imprisonment if the offender has been involved in the planning or execution of such acts. The death penalty is applied for acts that cause significant loss of life or for individuals who lead terrorist organizations. Public executions serve as a deterrent to others and are meant to signal the government’s commitment to protecting its citizens.
Multiple Murders
Punishments: For individuals convicted of serial killings or multiple murders, the punishment is typically execution. Execution is publicized to reinforce the society’s stance against such violence. In some cases, if the individual has shown remorse or participated in rehabilitation efforts, the sentence may be reduced to life imprisonment with a focus on psychological evaluation and therapy to address underlying issues.
Minor Crimes and Rehabilitation
Minor Offenses (Petty Theft, Vandalism, etc.)
Punishments:For less severe crimes such as petty theft, vandalism, or minor public disturbances, fines and community service are the primary forms of punishment. Offenders may be required to pay restitution to victims or contribute to local community projects, such as cleaning public spaces, mentoring younger individuals, or supporting charitable causes. The goal is to reintegrate the offender back into society while promoting personal growth.
Substance Abuse and Addiction Crimes
Punishments: Haiqin adopts a rehabilitative approach for crimes related to substance abuse, treating the root cause of addiction rather than focusing solely on punitive measures. Individuals arrested for substance abuse-related crimes are typically sentenced to rehabilitation programs and mandatory counseling. Repeat offenders may face longer-term rehabilitation efforts and be monitored in halfway houses or therapeutic communities.
scripted drugs aren't a thing, minus tobacco and p0t, but still. Good to have nonetheless.
Prison System and Rehabilitation
Prison:
Crimes: Serious theft, fraud, assault, drug trafficking, and large-scale property damage, murder, high cybercrimes
Punishments:Prison sentences are primarily reserved for serious crimes, including theft, violent offenses, and corruption. The prison system is designed not only to punish but to rehabilitate. Inmates are encouraged to engage in educational programs, where they can earn diplomas or certifications in vocational skills such as carpentry, plumbing, or computer science. Work programs within the prison help offenders develop a strong work ethic and prepare them for reintegration into society. Psychological counseling is often provided to address emotional and behavioral issues. Violent offenders or those with histories of aggression may be placed in higher-security prisons where rehabilitation efforts are more intensive, including anger management programs.
Restorative Justice Programs:
Crimes: Small thefts, vandalism, minor corruption, or small-scale financial crimes.
Punishments: Restorative justice programs are a key feature of Haiqin’s legal system, especially for minor offenses. These programs encourage offenders to make amends with victims through actions such as community service, financial restitution, and apology letters. Offenders may also be required to participate in mediation sessions with victims and community leaders to discuss the impact of their actions and develop a mutual understanding. These programs focus on healing the community and restoring relationships rather than solely punishing the offender.
Execution
Crimes: Terrorism, mass murder, severe cases of treason.
Public Execution:
Punishments:Public executions are reserved for crimes of the highest magnitude, such as terrorism, mass murder, or treason. The process is highly ritualized, and the goal is to deter future crimes by demonstrating the severe consequences of such actions. The execution is broadcasted to the public as a solemn reminder of the state's authority and commitment to justice. The use of public executions, however, is carefully controlled to avoid the potential for inciting unrest.
Private Execution:
Punishments:For cases where the crime is extremely heinous but does not warrant a public display, a private execution may be carried out. The offender is executed in a closed ceremony, and the details are not released to the public. This is typically reserved for individuals who have committed crimes that disrupt societal stability in profound ways.
Exile as Punishment:
Crimes: High treason, espionage, and other crimes that threaten national security but may not warrant execution.
Punishments: Exile is one of the most severe forms of punishment in Haiqin, often used for high treason or crimes that involve a severe betrayal of the nation. Offenders are stripped of all legal rights and removed from society, left to survive in remote regions with minimal support. Exile can be a form of both punishment and protection, as it removes dangerous individuals from society without resorting to execution. Exiled individuals may be forced to live in harsh conditions, working on public projects or subsisting in isolation.
General Principles
Rehabilitation over Retribution:
The justice system is more focused on rehabilitating offenders than punishing them. The idea is to correct behavior, address underlying causes, and reintegrate the offender into society as a productive member.
Restorative Justice:
Encouraging offenders to take responsibility for their actions and make amends, either through financial restitution or community service, is a central tenet of Haiqin's legal philosophy.
Public Trials:
Many trials, especially those involving high-profile crimes, are public affairs, with outcomes broadcasted as part of the state’s commitment to transparency and justice.
Women in Power
Haiqin is one of the few societies where women have always played significant roles in leadership, military, and other vital sectors, inspired by both historical figures and contemporary leaders.
Political
Political Leadership:
Women are actively involved in politics, holding high-ranking positions in the government, including in the Council of Ministers and other influential departments. This reflects Haiqin's commitment to gender equality and the belief that leadership should be based on skill, wisdom, and integrity rather than gender.
Military
Military Leadership:
Haiqin’s military is especially notable for the high number of women in combat roles. Women have proven themselves to be highly skilled in the military, particularly within elite units such as sniper squads. These women are known for their precision, strategic thinking, and leadership qualities. Women in Haiqin’s military and intelligence sectors are often seen as role models and are celebrated for their service to the nation.
Specialized Units:
Haiqin’s sniper units are world-renowned, with female snipers often showing exceptional precision and intelligence in operations. These units are considered among the elite in the military, admired for their tactical excellence.
Leadership and Equality:
Women in Haiqin’s military are promoted to high-ranking positions, breaking down traditional gender barriers in armed forces. Female generals and commanders play an essential role in the leadership and direction of the armed forces.
Military
Haiqin’s military is designed for defense, peacekeeping, and protection rather than conquest. It is viewed as a pillar of national stability and sovereignty.
Strategic Defense and Peacekeeping
Purpose and Doctrine:
The military exists not for expansion but for the defense of the nation’s sovereignty and to maintain the delicate balance of peace within Haiqin's borders. They are trained to engage in peacekeeping missions, humanitarian operations, and defensive warfare. While the military can deploy offensive tactics if necessary, its overarching goal is to preserve the nation's culture, values, and environmental harmony.
Honor and Discipline
Military Code:
Honor plays a central role in Haiqin's military training. Soldiers are taught to uphold the values of integrity, honor, and respect for life. The aim is to ensure the minimum impact on civilians and the environment during conflicts. The military does not engage in reckless warfare; instead, it favors precision strikes and minimizes collateral damage.
Training Programs:
Military personnel undergo rigorous physical and mental training, focusing on not just combat but also wisdom, patience, and strategic planning. Soldiers are trained in both conventional and unconventional tactics, with a focus on mental discipline, meditation, and stress management techniques.
Recruitment and Veterans
Recruitment:
Military service is a respected path, and individuals can volunteer for enlistment at age 19 after completing high school. Specialized positions, such as sniper units, require additional training and skills, making them highly competitive. Many young people choose military service for its prestigious status and benefits, including scholarships and job opportunities post-service.
Veterans:
Veterans are well-respected in Haiqin, with many receiving honors and leadership positions within civilian life due to their discipline, skills, and experience. The nation’s commitment to supporting veterans includes offering healthcare, housing assistance, educational subsidies, and job placement programs to ensure a smooth transition to civilian life.
Mental Health Support:
Understanding the psychological toll of military service, Haiqin has established mental health support systems for veterans. Counseling services, support groups, and wellness programs are available to help veterans adjust and maintain mental well-being after service.

Tomorrow I go to the rheumatologist, and I'm really nervous. I went into the doctor a while ago about constant joint and body pain. I got blood work done, and it showed a really high ANA count, which is an autoimmune indicator, as well as some other worrying things. I've been on a wait list for some time, and I finally get to see the specialist who can hopefully tell me what is happening 😓
My regular doctor said at this point that the most likely case appeared to be Lupus, or a similar/related disorder.
It's so weird to have the rest of my life just... hanging in the balance. There's nothing I can do differently at this point, just find out what they tell me, and treat it as well as I can, but it's stressful knowing that basically all the options of things it could be are painful, incurable, and life long.
Maybe I'm overreacting. I can't tell.
It's changed the way I think about ability because my physical ability is diminishing, and I find that really scary. Disability is a weird thing to come to terms with, especially because at this point, it's not /that/ bad, but also, it kind of is? I can't do things I used to be able to. Things that people my age can usually do easily are hard for me. I hurt a lot. I take a lot of breaks. When I come home from work, I limp and don't want to move around much, if I can help it. It makes me sad. I'm accepting that disability is a part of my life and will continue to be. What will treatment look like? Will it improve my quality of life?
I don't need mobility aids at this time, but will I soon? How fast will this progress? What if it doesn't, and it just stays like this? I don't even know what realistic expectations and goals look like right now.
I think I need to quit my job, it's too physical for me, but if I do, will the physical ability I have disappear faster?
If I get on medication, will I be able to paint again without hurting? What will the side effects be? They're bad on all the related medications that I've seen.
What if I mentally prepare for all this, and they give me a medication that makes it all better without any side effects. That's unrealistic, but do I hope for that? If I get that, what will I do with all this nervous energy I have built up?
Then what if it's really bad, what then? My insurance is connected to the job that I love, that I really enjoy doing, but that's hurting me. How long does it take to get on insurance at a new job? How do I even try to get into an industry i know nothing about, because all my adult work experience is in fields that are too physically demanding for me. I'm 27. I didn't expect this yet.
What if they can't figure out what's going on, or they tell me nothing is wrong. I know something is wrong, and I've got high ANA numbers, so they know something is wrong too, but what if they say there's nothing to be done, and just leave me to get worse? This is so frustrating.

Personalized Style on the Field: The Appeal of Custom Football Jerseys
Custom football jerseys have become a hallmark of personal expression and team unity, elevating both the style and spirit of the game. Whether for amateur leagues, professional teams, or enthusiastic fans, these jerseys are more than just apparel—they are a statement. By embracing customization, players and supporters alike create a unique identity that blends personal flair with shared passion.
Why Custom Football Jerseys Matter
Football jerseys are not merely uniforms; they symbolize pride, teamwork, and individuality. Custom designs allow teams to stand out, fostering a sense of unity while making a strong visual impression. For fans, wearing a personalized jersey bridges the gap between the stands and the field, showcasing unwavering loyalty and support.
The customization process ensures that every jersey tells a story. Whether it’s a jersey adorned with a player's name and number, or a design that reflects local culture, the options are endless. These elements transform an ordinary piece of clothing into a cherished keepsake.
The Customization Process: From Concept to Reality
Creating a custom football jersey begins with a vision. Teams, players, or fans collaborate with designers or manufacturers to develop a concept that captures their essence. This stage includes choosing colors, patterns, logos, and typography, all of which reflect the spirit of the group or individual.
The next step involves selecting the right material. Modern football jerseys prioritize performance, using breathable, durable fabrics designed to enhance comfort and mobility. Once the design and materials are finalized, advanced printing techniques bring the vision to life. Sublimation printing, for example, ensures vibrant colors and long-lasting designs that resist fading and wear.
Finally, the jerseys undergo rigorous quality checks before reaching the hands of the players or fans. This meticulous process guarantees a product that looks great and withstands the rigors of the game.
Benefits of Custom Football Jerseys
One of the primary benefits of custom football jerseys is their ability to create a strong team identity. A well-designed jersey fosters camaraderie, making players feel part of something greater than themselves. The sense of unity it brings can translate into better on-field coordination and performance.
For fans, custom jerseys serve as a powerful medium for self-expression. Adding a name, number, or unique design turns a simple jersey into a personal emblem of fandom. It also makes for a meaningful gift, cementing connections between supporters and their favorite teams.
Custom jerseys also offer a marketing advantage for organizations and sponsors. Logos and brand messages displayed on jerseys ensure visibility, turning players and fans into walking advertisements during games and events.
Designing for Performance and Style
When designing custom football jerseys, achieving a balance between functionality and aesthetics is crucial. Modern designs incorporate lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics that keep players cool and dry, even during intense matches. Mesh panels and strategic stitching further enhance ventilation and durability.
On the style front, customization offers endless possibilities. Teams can choose bold colors and striking patterns that command attention on the field. Subtle details like sleeve trims or collar designs add sophistication, while high-quality logos and lettering ensure a professional finish.
Many manufacturers now offer online design tools, making it easier for individuals and teams to create their ideal jersey. These platforms provide templates, customization options, and previews, streamlining the design process while empowering users to bring their visions to life.
Custom Jerseys for Fans: A Growing Trend
Beyond the field, custom football jerseys have become a staple in fan culture. Fans cherish the opportunity to wear something unique, whether it’s a replica of their favorite player's jersey or a completely original design. Personalized jerseys allow fans to feel connected to the team while expressing their personality.
These jerseys have also gained popularity as collectibles. Limited-edition designs or jerseys commemorating special events hold sentimental and monetary value, making them highly sought-after by enthusiasts.

The Environmental Edge of Custom Jerseys
As sustainability becomes increasingly important, many manufacturers are incorporating eco-friendly practices into their production of custom football jerseys. Using recycled materials and reducing waste during manufacturing are steps toward a greener future. Fans and teams can now support their passion for football while being mindful of the environment.
Custom jerseys also promote longevity, as their high-quality materials and personal significance encourage owners to treasure them for years. This durability helps reduce the fast-fashion cycle and supports a more sustainable approach to sports apparel.
Elevate Your Game with a Custom Football Jersey
Whether you’re a player seeking unity on the field, a fan looking to showcase your devotion, or a team wanting to make a statement, custom football jerseys are the ultimate choice. They combine performance, style, and individuality, creating a lasting impact both on and off the field.
By investing in a custom jersey, you’re not just purchasing apparel; you’re embracing a piece of football culture that embodies passion, pride, and creativity. From kickoff to the final whistle, custom football jerseys ensure you stand out, celebrating the sport in your own unique way.

AV Installation Secrets Revealed: Expert Insights and Advice
Whether you're setting up a home theater, upgrading a conference room, or creating an immersive stage experience, AV installations are essential in transforming ordinary spaces into dynamic, impactful environments. In today's tech-driven world, AV Installation Services have become a staple for events, corporate gatherings, and personal spaces alike. However, creating a seamless audio-visual experience involves more than just wiring up speakers and mounting screens. Here, we’ll share expert insights into AV installation secrets that elevate quality, enhance ambiance, and guarantee a hassle-free experience.
1. Planning the Right Setup for Your Space
A successful AV installation starts with a clear understanding of your specific needs and goals. No two spaces are alike, so the initial planning phase should involve evaluating the room layout, dimensions, and acoustics. This is where a professional AV Installation Service can make all the difference by creating a custom setup that maximizes audio and visual quality. Experts can help design an installation plan that works within your budget while enhancing every aspect of the viewing and listening experience.
2. Investing in High-Quality Equipment
The equipment you select is the foundation of any AV installation. From high-resolution projectors and screens to powerful, crisp sound systems, investing in quality components ensures a longer lifespan and better performance. Professional AV Installation Services have access to the latest in AV technology, helping you choose the right gear for your setup. High-definition displays, multi-channel audio systems, and smart control systems are all important elements that bring your vision to life.
3. Understanding Acoustic Treatments and Speaker Placement
Optimal sound distribution is crucial for an immersive experience. AV installation experts know that sound quality is influenced by room acoustics, materials, and furniture. They employ techniques like acoustic panels, bass traps, and strategic speaker placement to eliminate echo and balance sound. With the help of an AV Installation Service, you can avoid common issues like uneven sound and muffled audio, ensuring clear, high-quality sound throughout the room.
4. Hiding the Cables and Wiring
One of the biggest challenges in AV installation is concealing the maze of cables and wires. A messy installation can detract from the space's aesthetics and even cause safety hazards. An expert AV Installation Service will know how to manage and conceal wires effectively, either by routing them through walls, floors, or custom cabinetry. They’ll also label everything clearly, making it easier to troubleshoot or upgrade your system later on.
5. Automating the AV Experience
A well-designed AV system should also offer ease of use. Automated systems allow you to control lighting, sound, and visuals at the touch of a button, creating a seamless experience. Leading AV Installation Services can integrate smart controls like voice activation, mobile app interfaces, and remote controls, allowing you to customize the atmosphere with minimal effort. Imagine dimming the lights, adjusting the sound, or switching screens from your phone, adding that wow factor to any event or space.
6. Testing and Calibration for Optimal Performance
Once the setup is complete, professional AV installers will conduct thorough testing and calibration. This step ensures that all components work together harmoniously, providing an optimized performance for both audio and video. AV Installation Services use specialized equipment to test sound quality, brightness, and display alignment, making any necessary adjustments for the perfect final setup.
7. Ongoing Support and Maintenance
AV systems are complex and, over time, may require software updates, recalibration, or even repairs. The right AV Installation Service provides ongoing support, ensuring that your system remains in top condition. Regular maintenance not only extends the equipment’s lifespan but also keeps your AV experience flawless, even as your needs evolve or technology advances.
8. Expert Advice for DIY AV Enthusiasts
For those looking to try AV installation on their own, there are a few essential tips to keep in mind. First, start small, with easy-to-manage components like a soundbar and projector. Researching the best products and ensuring compatibility among devices is key. Also, remember to position speakers at ear level and place screens to minimize glare. However, for larger spaces and complex requirements, it’s always best to consult a professional AV Installation Service for expert guidance and support.

Understanding Functional Fitness
A group of seniors engage in various exercises: stretching, lifting light weights, and using resistance bands. They are in a bright, spacious room with large windows and plenty of natural light
Key Principles
Functional fitness is a type of exercise that focuses on movements that are essential for daily living. It involves training the body to perform activities such as lifting, bending, and reaching with ease. The key principles of functional fitness are as follows:
Multi-joint movements: Exercises that involve multiple joints and muscle groups are preferred over single-joint exercises. This allows for a more comprehensive workout that mimics real-life movements.
Balance and stability: Functional fitness exercises often incorporate balance and stability training, which helps improve overall coordination and reduces the risk of falls.
Progressive overload: To see improvements in strength and endurance, the body must be challenged with increasing levels of resistance or intensity over time.
Individualization: Functional fitness programs should be tailored to an individual's specific needs and abilities. This ensures that the exercises are safe and effective.
Components of Functional Fitness
Functional fitness involves a variety of exercises that target different areas of the body. The components of functional fitness include:
Cardiovascular endurance: This component involves exercises that increase heart rate and breathing rate, such as walking, cycling, or swimming.
Muscular strength: This component involves exercises that increase muscle strength, such as squats, lunges, and push-ups.

Flexibility: This component involves exercises that increase range of motion, such as stretching or yoga.
By incorporating these components into a functional fitness program, seniors can improve their overall health and well-being. It is important to consult with a healthcare professional before beginning any exercise program, especially if there are pre-existing medical conditions or concerns.
Getting Started with Functional Fitness
A group of seniors engage in functional fitness exercises, using resistance bands and stability balls in a bright, spacious gym setting
Functional fitness is an excellent way for seniors to improve their overall health and quality of life. However, before starting any exercise program, it is essential to consult with healthcare providers to ensure that it is safe and appropriate for the individual's specific needs.
Consulting with Healthcare Providers
Seniors should consult with their primary care physician or a qualified healthcare provider before starting any functional fitness program. The healthcare provider can evaluate the individual's current health status, identify any underlying conditions that may affect their ability to exercise, and provide guidance on safe and effective exercise options.
If the individual has any chronic health conditions, such as arthritis, heart disease, or diabetes, the healthcare provider may recommend specific modifications to their exercise program to ensure that it is safe and effective. Additionally, the healthcare provider may recommend working with a physical therapist or certified personal trainer to develop a customized exercise program that meets the individual's specific needs.
Setting Realistic Goals
When starting a functional fitness program, it is essential to set realistic goals. Setting achievable goals can help seniors stay motivated and track their progress over time. Seniors should consider factors such as their current fitness level, health status, and personal preferences when setting goals.
For example, a senior who is new to exercise may start with simple exercises, such as walking or stretching, and gradually increase the intensity and duration of their workouts over time. Alternatively, a senior who has been exercising regularly may set more challenging goals, such as increasing their strength or endurance.
Seniors should also consider their personal preferences when setting goals. For example, some seniors may prefer group exercise classes, while others may prefer individual workouts. By setting realistic goals that align with their personal preferences, seniors can increase their chances of sticking to their exercise program over the long term.
Essential Functional Exercises
Functional fitness is an excellent way for seniors to maintain their independence and quality of life. The following exercises help seniors to maintain their strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance.
Balance Training
Balance training is essential for seniors as it helps to prevent falls and improves their ability to perform daily activities. Some of the balance exercises include:

Flexibility workouts are essential for seniors as they help to maintain their range of motion and prevent injuries. Some of the flexibility exercises include:
Shoulder stretches
Hamstring stretches
Calf stretches
Yoga
Endurance Activities
Endurance activities are vital for seniors as they help to maintain their cardiovascular health and improve their overall fitness level. Some of the endurance activities include:
Walking
Cycling
Swimming
Dancing
Incorporating these essential functional exercises into a senior's fitness routine can help them to maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.
Safety Measures and Injury Prevention
Functional fitness is a great way for seniors to improve their overall health and well-being. However, it is important to take certain safety measures and precautions to prevent injuries and ensure a safe workout.
Proper Warm-Up Techniques
Before starting any exercise routine, it is important to properly warm up the body. Seniors should perform dynamic stretching exercises to help increase blood flow and flexibility. This can include movements such as arm circles, leg swings, and torso twists. It is also important to start with low-intensity exercises and gradually increase the intensity to prevent sudden strain on the body.
Adaptive Equipment Use
Seniors may need to use adaptive equipment to perform certain exercises safely. This can include using a chair for support during squats or lunges, or using resistance bands instead of heavy weights. It is important to use equipment that is appropriate for the individual's fitness level and physical abilities.
Monitoring Intensity Levels
Seniors should monitor their intensity levels during exercise to prevent overexertion. This can be done by using a heart rate monitor or by using the "talk test". If the individual is unable to carry on a conversation while exercising, the intensity level may be too high. It is important to listen to the body and rest when needed.
By following these safety measures and injury prevention techniques, seniors can enjoy the benefits of functional fitness without the risk of injury.
Creating a Functional Fitness Routine
Functional fitness is especially important for seniors as it helps to improve their quality of life and maintain their independence. Here are some tips for creating a functional fitness routine.
Daily Exercise Plans
It is recommended that seniors engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise per week, along with muscle-strengthening activities two or more days per week. Seniors should start with low-impact exercises such as walking, swimming, or cycling and gradually increase the intensity and duration of their workouts.
In addition to aerobic exercise, seniors should also incorporate balance and flexibility exercises into their routine. Yoga and tai chi are great options for improving balance and flexibility.
Incorporating Activities of Daily Living
Seniors can also incorporate activities of daily living (ADLs) into their fitness routine. ADLs are activities that are necessary for independent living, such as getting dressed, cooking, and cleaning. These activities can also provide a good workout.
For example, seniors can incorporate squats while doing household chores such as vacuuming or gardening. They can also practice standing on one leg while brushing their teeth or washing dishes to improve balance.
Overall, creating a functional fitness routine can help seniors maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. By incorporating daily exercise plans and ADLs, seniors can improve their strength, balance, and flexibility.
Tracking Progress and Staying Motivated
Seniors who engage in functional fitness exercises can benefit greatly from tracking their progress and staying motivated. It can be challenging to maintain a consistent exercise routine, but setting milestones and adjusting goals over time can help seniors stay on track and see results.
Setting Milestones
Setting milestones is an effective way to track progress and stay motivated. Seniors can set short-term and long-term goals, such as increasing the amount of weight lifted or completing a certain number of repetitions. They can also track their progress using a fitness journal or app, which can help them stay accountable and motivated.
Seniors can also set non-scale goals, such as improving flexibility or balance. These goals can be just as important as weight or strength goals and can help seniors see progress in other areas of their fitness journey.
Adjusting Goals Over Time
As seniors progress in their fitness journey, they may need to adjust their goals to continue seeing results. This can include increasing the weight lifted, changing the type of exercise, or adding new exercises to their routine.
It's important for seniors to listen to their bodies and make adjustments as needed. Working with a personal trainer or fitness professional can also be helpful in creating a personalized fitness plan and making adjustments over time.
By setting milestones and adjusting goals over time, seniors can stay motivated and see progress in their functional fitness journey.
Nutrition and Functional Fitness
Hydration and Exercise
Proper hydration is crucial for seniors engaging in functional fitness activities. Drinking enough water before, during, and after exercise can help prevent dehydration, which can lead to fatigue, dizziness, and other health issues. Seniors should aim to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water per day, and increase their intake on days when they will be exercising. It is also important to note that thirst is not always a reliable indicator of dehydration, so seniors should make a conscious effort to drink water regularly throughout the day.
Eating for Muscle Recovery
Eating a balanced diet that includes protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats is important for seniors engaging in functional fitness activities. Protein is especially important for muscle recovery and repair after exercise. Seniors should aim to consume at least 1 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. Good sources of protein include lean meats, fish, eggs, and plant-based sources such as beans and nuts.
Carbohydrates are also important for energy during exercise. Seniors should aim to consume complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, rather than simple sugars found in processed foods.
Healthy fats are important for overall health, and can be found in foods such as nuts, seeds, avocados, and fatty fish. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish such as salmon and tuna, may also help reduce inflammation in the body.
Seniors should also be mindful of portion sizes, and aim to eat a variety of nutrient-dense foods to support their overall health and well-being.
Community and Support
Functional fitness for seniors is not just about physical exercise, it is also about building a community of like-minded individuals who can offer support and encouragement. Joining a fitness community can help seniors stay motivated and on track with their fitness goals.
Group Fitness Classes
Group fitness classes are a great way for seniors to exercise in a supportive and social environment. These classes are designed to cater to the needs of seniors and are led by qualified instructors who can modify exercises to suit individual needs. Group fitness classes can also provide a sense of accountability, as participants are more likely to attend regularly when they know others are counting on them.
Online Resources and Apps
In addition to in-person classes, seniors can also access a variety of online resources and apps to support their functional fitness journey. These resources can provide workout plans, instructional videos, and even virtual coaching. Online resources and apps can be particularly useful for seniors who may have mobility issues or live in areas without easy access to fitness facilities.
Overall, building a community of support is an important aspect of functional fitness for seniors. By joining a fitness community and utilizing online resources, seniors can stay motivated, accountable, and on track with their fitness goals.

General/ Misc Asks - Technique, Style, Training
This is sort of incoherent but quick question- In Ali’s variation, when they can choose to land and go all the way down. How???
Ahahaha, so you’re referring to when the dancer does a big assemble jump, lands in all the way down in grand plie, and then does a big explosive sissone out of it. Landing in that position requires a lot of quad and glue strength, which, you guessed it, is built over years of practice: grand plies in ballet class, working out in the gym, pilates and calisthenics etc
Hi! I am 25 and want to become a great ballerina. Not professionally or anything, but just for me. I danced from age 2-11 and then stopped so I have a fairly decent grasp on the concept of ballet. I was wondering if you have any tips for someone starting from scratch? I’m not overweight but I have virtually no strength or stamina. I’m not terribly flexible and my hips are weak. Basically, I’m wondering what routine of classes/exercises/stretches you would recommend and how often. Thanks!!
My first and most important piece of advice: GO TO CLASS. Find a good studio or school that has quality teachers, ideally someone who has experienced life as a professional and has credentials or a good body of work as a teacher. Do your research!
If you can make it to class around 3 times a week, that’s a great start as an adult beginner.
In addition, I recommend incorporating daily yoga/stretching, balancing with pilates and some lightweight training a few times a week, and your preferred form of cardio.
Hi Ale! I have a question: are some styles of executing movements (Vaganova, Balanchine etc) harder than others? Or are they all similarly difficult but just different?
I tend to argue the latter, I personally find the Balanchine technique more difficult but that’s because I didn’t train in a Balanchine school. A lot depends on a dancer's education as well as what kind of company they end up dancing in and the repertoire performed there.
you at some point commented on how a ballerina (i don't remember her name) struggled with keeping her heels down in plies. i used to dance - amateur, but i did love it - and had difficulty with that as well. are there any stretches/exercises that can help, or is it just that some people are born with a better ankle configuration than i have?
Some people definitely have more flexible ankles and Achilles tendons. However, improvement is totally possible and honestly a good idea for people in general. Look up ankle mobility drills as well as Achilles and calf stretches.
Hi Ale! I don't know if this is going to be a very unpopular ask, but do you think the tall ballerina era ruined some things forever in ballet, or at least in Russian ballet? Watching Ulanova, Plisetskaya, Makarova, Bessmertnova etc, in SL is so perfect. With their puffy tutu and small limbs, they look like a perfect, fragile swan, due to their small figures. Nowdays, super tall ballerinas, with giagantic flat tutus can't look like a Odette at all (I take Lopatkina off this list). Maybe a Odile.
I’m not going to say ‘ruined’ but the tall aesthetic, especially the super skinny body type promoted by Balanchine that then extended worldwide, has absolutely and irrevocably changed ballet. Different physical traits and skills are treated as valuable as are different tempos and styles of choreography. I also think its important to note that the dancers you listed have quite different body types, I wouldn't say Plisetskaya and Markarova have similar physiques

Air should I get octopath i (have never actually played any of the series except for the mobile game which I was a beta tester for last year lmao)
I'd say that's dependent on a couple of factors!
The mobile game's mechanics and gameplay align pretty closely with the mainline octopath games, but it's very pared down comparatively. I understand why this happened, of course; the mainline games are able to better maintain focus and balance with a cast of eight characters per game. Still, if you had fun cutting your teeth on the stuff there, then you may enjoy the console games, especially since they have a lot more to play around with in terms of setting up a more intricate rube goldberg, both storywise and mechanically.
In terms of gameplay, well, it's definitely a turn-based RPG!
for instance, in my most recent battle i set up my team with a follower who indiscriminately curses everyone on the field with negative effects, then used my scholar's secondary job to invert all of my team's negative effects into positive ones. i also love to use the "why are you hitting yourself" gambit, where i apply multiple reflective shields to all of my team members, then give them an additional ability to counter attacks.
octopath allows you to do a lot of fun stuff mechanically, and i enjoy that aspect of it
both octopath games are also extremely meaty in terms of content and playtime, and can be played independent of one another. Additionally, Octopath Traveler 2 has packed on a lot of substantial quality of life updates, and I'm a big fan of the new mechanics.
however, i feel like octopath 2 is also a lot darker than octopath 1 was, but not as relentlessly miserable as the mobile game. that might just be the length of time since i last played octopath 1, though. still, there's a reason stella keeps turning to me and saying "octopath is a miserable game". it's dire in here
that being said, i really enjoy the characters, and one of my favorite parts of playing octopath has always been the ability to go up to any random npc and take in the omnipresent feeling of This Person is A Protagonist of a Story I'm Not Party to, in a Genre of Their Own. And I think that's neat!
it's a really good series for people who like tracking down scraps of lore and making connections and slowly pulling pieces of information together into a uniting narrative. you'll need that skill when a random npc tells you they desperately need funding for their octopus research and you search your memory for that one rich octopus enthusiast you remember meeting in one of the coastal towns. also when you slowly begin to realize that weird details of one character's route add context and information for another's. etc.
also. castti is in octopath 2 and h'aanit is in octopath 1 so i'm having a great time regardless
if none of these elements appeal to you, then you may be better off getting a perspective from someone who enjoys different aspects of the game from me, or you may decide that it's not your scene altogether. whatever you decide, I hope you stay true to your own preferences and whims, and that you make the best choice for yourself
#asks#air plays octopath 2#i hope this gives you enough information to know whether you will like this or not#long post
