writing is hard. English is hard. trying to remember the rules is hard. make it descriptive but not too descriptive, watch out for head hopping, remember the paragraph rule, careful of floating head syndrome, mindful of repeating the action or starting each paragraph with a characters name (i am so guilty of that one) , watch out for action over use and don’t even get me started on the grammar, spelling and punctuation rules. i am guilty of run on sentences and using the wrong word, mistaking it for another word.

…but please. what is emotional hopping???

i take English and writing classes outside of my job. i was told to watch out for emotional hopping because i am doing it a lot. i use the words strongly, clear, obviously and immediately to often too.

ghaaaaaa writing is hard!!!! it is either ‘you are not writing enough description!’ or ‘description over load. cut it down.’

oh and i am guilty of floating head syndrome too.

He is made up almost entirely of fleece, all hand-sewn. His shirt and some of his eyes are felt (also the scar on his foot). He's stuffed with polyfill . He's weighed down with lentils 😭 His pattern is made custom by me :) I'm not sure exactly how long he took, but I'd guess some amount of months. Maybe 2, but maybe only a few weeks of collective actual work days

He does also have a dog toy type squeaker in him

UMMMM.... hmmm. It is very pretty i agree. I am constantly flip flopping from hating to loving it ngl. When it's good its incredible and when it's bad i don't even wanna look at it 💀

I think the first episode was perfect, kuno's intro was okay, ryoga's intro was ass and i'll never forgive them for what they did to the scene where akane carries ranma home from tofu's, kodachi's was good, the ice skating arc was fantastic (outside of akane's weird lips that totally took me out of the moment....), and so far the shampoo arc is superior to the original

I think the pacing sucks ass for the first half and then it gets a lot better but they really needed an extra 5ish episodes to slow the fuck down. Like i could not tell you what dr tofu's personality is in the remake, he was barely there. We hardly spent any time on the fact akane's a tomboy to the point i've had new fans tell me "nooo don't call her that she's perfect the way she is!" (its... not an insult 😭)

I think the characterizations are way better, i think the animation is gorgeous, it's literally just the pacing that pisses me off sometimes lmao. I suppose i agree it's better than the original but like.... i think i'd want to flip between the original and the remake in a rewatch just to slow things the fuck down and not lose the moments the original had that i think made the show better

Also as much as everyone says the remake is "more faithful to the manga" it really has a lot of new scenes lmaoooo i'm not complaining i think they've all been great changes/additions but i do think it's funny. I've never been a manga purist

I guess my answer is..... it's very good. If it got anime of the year i'd desperately point at frieren and dungeon meshi but i'd understand. But 12 episodes is not enough time to let them truly shine and because of that i don't think it could replace what the original anime is to me, only supplement it

You'd probably like it if you watched it but if you've seen the old anime you'll also understand what i mean abt the lack of time to just breathe and get to know who these people are and why we should care about them. Like ranma is fully on board w being in love w akane from the start and while akane deserves that i don't think we have enough scenes of them just.... hanging out without any stakes to really get a handle on what it is ranma likes abt her so much other than Cute Girl Who Punches Hard and akane is so much more than that 😭

why do youtubers feel so comfortable cutting clips from other people's videos?? without asking and without crediting or linking the original videos and now a watermark with their channel name is lingering over a clip that I recorded and uploaded I find it especially rude when somebody has 68 thousand subscribers and they take a clip from a person who has 300 subscribers... and the viewers on these big channels think that the uploader recorded everything themselves because they even watermark it with their own channel name if you want to make a video that shows multiple scenes from a video game, record those scenes yourself, don't just download another person's vid and cut the part you want into your video... I also had to record it or you know... maybe ask permission and credit the original uploader and link their video or their channel

lost in translation is one of my longest fics to date, and it was honestly cut up MUUUCH more than what was published (~30k words with at least four more scenes pre-confession lol). i have some writing that explores what it's like when they start dating but it's not as developed! tl;dr a part two isn't super likely, but drabbles/one-shots set in the same verse might be ´･ᴗ･` thank you for reading and enjoying!

i agree that theres zionist propaganda in the knuckles show and that it should be called out. but am i the only one who thinks that one big post about it going around (the one that sjust a bunch of screenshots with no elaboration or anything and has like 15k notes) is not doing the best job at accurately conveying whats going on in the scene or what the problem is when it comes to the content of the show itself. at least not to people who dont know what happens already. like im not accusing the op of trying to confuse people on purpose or anything its just that like i said the post doesnt really present the scene accurately and is missing a lot of context and the post in question is probably the only thing a lot of people are seeing about this when its not a very good source of information

I was thinking about that moment in Spiderverse where Peter gets married and I was wondering why more adapted versions of Magneto don't reference him being Jewish in multiple ways and not SOLELY on his trauma as a Holocaust victim. It's a core part of his character but it's also the only time him being Jewish is ever referenced in these adaptations, and I'm wondering if the writers of these versions of him just don't feel like bringing up that he's Jewish in any other way aside from his internment in the Holocaust.

am i the only one who feels like alex(the world ender guy) was kind of a missed oportunity in vide noir? like, he was set up by johnnie to be a badass gang leader just for him to never even appear in the end, we just got a close up to his face scar

i feel like buck's encounter with the psychic would've been way more powerful if it was alex instead. its implied that johnnie and moonbeam had a relationship ig, but its barely even hinted at, and he never even mentions her. but with johnnie and alex, johnnie actually mentions him and speaks highly of his brother, and says alex will help buck if he sees the red cloth that belonged to johnnie

the fact that all that build up led to buck not even TALKING to alex kinda irks me. imagine how much better the payoff would be if alex had received the cloth instead of moonbeam? if we had seen his reaction to johnnie's death? if he would've helped buck like johnnie said he would? if we saw what johnnie implied alex would do to the guys who black brained his brother? idk man i think we were robbed

No I gotta agree on that. Like I LOVED seeing Moonbeam and getting know her as her and having all this new information about her (her being part of the World Enders is still wild to me and I love it) and it’s a good scene and all, but I’m still confused as to why they built up Alex so much, especially since this is the first time we’re hearing about him, and he never even got the chance to speak. If it were Dale I’d be a bit more understanding as we know him already (tho not by much cause I would have loved to see more of Dale). But it’s Alex, whose not only the leader of the World Enders but also Johnnie’s (and Dale’s) brother. I would’ve have loved to, you know, actually meet the guy. Especially with how much build up he got. And I GET IT Lord Huron’s lore is meant to be weird and vague and hard to pin down but like. Didn’t need to tease me like that come on

The only reason I could think of was maybe they needed to get Buck on his own again? Like having this the beginning of a war between the World Enders and Z’Oieasu shown or having Buck work with them consistently might have thrown off the tone. It is supposed to be Buck’s story and his own descent into madness. The whole album has this isolated vibe to me, like being alone in a city of people Hard to get that when there’s other people around, especially a group as lively as the world enders. Or maybe they just wanted to include Moonbeam back into the story again lol

GOD I would have loved to see Moonbeam’s scene with Buck done with Alex. I can only imagine how that scene would’ve played out and his reaction to Johnnie’s death. Contrasting Buck’s scene with Johnnie with Alex’s own personality, the possible dynamics, the anger and grief that could arise…..ough
