Prompt 285
Another Tiamat Prompt, what d’ya know lol.
Only? That much power, of nine near-godly beings in one body? That’s a lot. And, they can’t exactly… unmeld anymore. But they were prepared for that, they were ready to have to sacrifice it all. So if they have to leave their world as their power gets too strong, then so be it.
So they wander, from world to world, unable to stay long, never finding a place that feels like home. They wander, stars spilling from wings, asteroids melding with scales and stars bursting into feathers as they do so.
They wander, and grow both stronger, and bigger than ever before. But they grow tired, weary. Exhausted even. This endless travel, they tire of it, just wanting a moment of rest. They’ve been moving endlessly for so long, getting fitful rest as one of them dozes at a time, and they just want a proper moment of sleep.
So they land and… when did worlds become so small? When did they become vast enough to wrap around them? When did they grow so large to dwarf the world they had once come from so long ago once in another timeline?
How long, they wonder, have the nine of them wandered? How far? How many timelines? Dimensions? Planes of reality?
But they’re tired. So for now? They rest. They sleep away their worries and grief, life and death spilling from their breath, rock and earth building around them as they dream. Water giving way to life, plants to animals, animals to destruction over and over.
And they rest. They sleep. Scales harder than any ore, feathers more beautiful than the rarest bird, fur softer than the most expensive silks, yet visible to none. For they sleep, resting below the waves, stretching from sea to sea.
Until…
Until they begin to wake. They do not mean harm, they are not even aware of the life that has grown from their presence, of the panic the great disasters and storms are causing. One snuffs in their sleep, a volcano bursting from the heat. Another head shifts slightly, sighing at the new comfortable position as sinkholes break across the surface like an earthquake.
How can they be aware, when they’re still dreaming?

im also floridian. this weather is too suspicious its not meant to be winter weather in march! summer will kill us all
It’s starting to heat up. But then it’s going down again?
Tumblr media
LOWS IN THE 60S AT THIS TIME OF YEAR IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD..? That ain’t right. No. It can’t be. No way.
It’s going to be a constant 102* in June-September because nice things aren’t allowed here and we must suffer. We’re supposed to get our designated 2 weeks of nice weather randomly in dec-feb and THATS IT. We have been too greedy. The end is coming.
*for non swamp dwellers, the actual temp stays between 80-95 mostly, but humidity makes it feel like you’re being steamed alive. Which is fun! (government mandated propaganda)

Saw this Cree guy on tiktok essentially spreading misinformation that Crees are/were mound builders and anyone saying we weren't is "spreading lies" & his whole comment section was people thanking him for his "knowledge" like??? No, dude. Mound building wasn't really our thing. We liked NOT having a big ecological footprint, and that's why we lived in tipis & wigwams (even the word for tipi is originally closer to 'wigwam', mikîwâhp). Why would we build giant mounds if it goes against our worldview that you shouldn't harm or move the landscape more than necessary??
Part of his reasoning for this is the word "Mississippi" & that we extended all the way down to Florida because this word translates to mean the same thing in Cree as well (Misî-sîpiy) rather than acknowledging the fact that other Algonquian languages exist and have very similar languages to Cree, and will have very similar words (to the point of near exactness) & translations that mean the same thing, such as the tribes actually Native nearby the Mississippi.

The man on the radio is talking with the chef on the radio about Coq au Vin and Tagine. There is mention of lashings of ginger and cayenne pepper. Once the mouth watering recipes are done, the man on the radio plays Marrakesh Express and Road to Morocco.
The dandelions continue to delight here. I'm spoilt for choice.
Last night a mouse made the choice to get into bed with me. I don't know who was more surprised!?! Me as I reached to scratch the tickle on my back, only to find my hand grabbing something small and squeaky ... or the teeny tiny mouse that performed parkour on my wall as it was simultaneously released and the duvet was whipped back.
It's Saturday ... there's coffee and sunshine ... and no doubt more dandelions to capture ...

some minor spoilers to Avatar 2 but the struggle of writing to put humans in some kind of gray morality area through some characters, while they all very consciously work to make a genocide of a whole planet and its all nature... didnt work, my dudes, all these little moments of them having normal feelings and sympathy were like a little fart into the universe
let them choke and die on their Earth
I came to watch cool animals, plants and sexy blue aliens, I don't care, man

Plutonian Khaos – Those Who Shall Arrive
Tumblr media
James looks at Those Who Shall Arrive, the new album from Slovakian black metal / dark ambient / harsh noise project Plutonian Khaos, released on Nomad Sky Diaries / Sky Burial on June 10th.
When abductees talk about Grey aliens there always seems to be a sense of terror and dread, accompanying an experience that made them feel powerless and violated. I truly believe that Plutonian Khaos has captured that exact sentiment in audio form with Those Who Shall Arrive. The suffocatingly layered mix of lo-fi atmospheric/raw black metal, dark ambient and harsh noise presented on the album really draws you into a mindset where you can imagine the terror of an abduction.

Note
Eh, no big deal.
Could be worse, at least we have a pretty nice life here.
Hey, is that Plushie Girl? What's she doing out of bed?
This last part came from a gray-masked Dweller as it looked in Ames' direction.
(ravensroleplays, AHIT RP, Specters and Space Aliens Verse)
Late one night, when the Subcon family (or most of them, anyway), were asleep, there was a strange occurrence. Ames' Girlfriend plushie stood up on its own! Slowly, carefully rising, the plushie reached out, tapping Ames' face.
*Ames, who was asleep, stirred a little, eyes slowly opening…before she jumped a little*
“EEP!!”

The likelihood that other technologically sophisticated societies exist is smaller than previously thought, because basic amenities we take for granted on Earth—continents, oceans, and plate tectonics—are cosmically rare.
[...]
Most geologists will agree with Stern’s and Gerya’s argument that plate tectonics should be included as a criterion for long-term planetary habitability. Earth’s tectonic system allows the planet’s atmosphere and hydrosphere to remain in communication with its interior, in a remarkable, self-perpetuating cycle. Subducted ocean crust—seafloor that slips down into Earth’s interior—carries water back into the mantle, and at shallow depths, this water lowers the melting temperature of mantle rock, giving rise to unusual magmas that create the continental crust—what we surface dwellers live on—which is rich in rare elements, like phosphorus, that are critical to life.  At greater depths, subducted water acts to decrease the viscosity of the mantle, allowing it to churn, or convect, more vigorously—which in turn drives plate motion. When the Earth’s mantle exports heat via convection, it encourages the liquid iron outer core to convect as well, and this generates Earth’s protective magnetic field, which shields the surface environment from harmful cosmic radiation. Without plate tectonics, continents would quickly be eroded to sea level. But tectonic collisions continuously rejuvenate Earth’s topography, providing rivers with more energy to transport nutrient-rich sediments to shallow marine environments. In other words, plate tectonics is entangled with all the phenomena that support life on Earth.

Suspiciously specific and specifically vague writing prompts
• Extraterrestrial archaeologists in the far future uncover your body. They then write a scientific paper on humans based off of what they found out about you.
• Retell your favorite myth or fairy tale in a modern setting
• Turn a modern of futuristic story into a mythological epic
• Your OCs realize they are fictional characters. *Cue chaos and existential crisis*
• Good news: you’ve reincarnated into your favorite video game. Bad news: you’re a self-aware NPC (Al-la VLDL)
• Have you ever wondered what a tree thinks?
• A murder victim’s ghost does everything in their power to get the attention of the dim-witted detective assigned to the case
• Hero is given everything in order to stop the apocalypse and yet they still find a way to fail
• Make a grand story out of something mundane
• What would happen if the dancing plague occurred today?
• You must use tropes that you hate, and are totally overused. Find some way to make them work;turn them on their head, use malicious compliance, totally invert them
• What is the real reason why no one turned up to Professor Hawkins’ party
•A white hat, a blogger, and an AI must team up to stop an international hacking ring before they start WW 3 (bonus if none of the unlikely heroes get along)
• An atheist is deemed worthy enough to receive the mantle of god. Awkward… and what exactly are the philosophical implications?
• You’re a mimic. Describe a day in the life of tricking (and devouring) foolish adventures.
• Someone from the past is resurrected. They go on a rampage when they find out that [great deed/feat of engineering/ work of genius] is being credited to [aliens/Atlantis/ Hollow Earth dwellers, etc.]
