Alex sits with their leg pulled up on his bed, scratching at the red splashing across denim cuffs and muttering to herself. As he draws closer, dabbing at his face, Gabe can't help noticing the older stains crawling up Alex's jeans, dark and unmistakable.

"You kept the photo," Alex says, jerking their head at Gabe's nightstand. "I thought you hated those braids."

"I did." Gabe shoots a look over his shoulder, at Mac's blood staining the door. "Alex--"

"He'll live." She glances up at him, tucking a lock of hair behind one ear. "Unless you don't want him to."

"Jesus, Al." He settles down next to her, knees touching. The pressure makes his leg tingle, a soft buzz through his muscles, and he thinks too late that he should pull away, get out of the fucking apartment, but he keeps thinking of what she did--did for him--and he can't.

Her lips quirk. "He was checking my dick out, you know." They squeeze her crotch easily, nose stud glinting as her gaze drifts out the window. "What a pathetic little fuck." She leans over, propping their chin on his shoulder, legs coming up to rest easily in his lap like nothing ever changed.

"I'm sorry I hit you," she murmurs in his ear. "But I'm not sorry about kicking his face in. I'll make sure he doesn't go squealing to anyone, though, don't worry."

Gabe adjusts the ice pack held to his face, letting his other hand rest on her ankle, tracing the blood drying there. The fuck are you doing, man, he asks himself, and doesn't really have an answer. But it's Alex, and he could never really get mad at Alex.

"What happened back there, anyway?" he asks instead.

"That's a long story, I guess." Alex's breath is warm and close, maybe a bit too close. "Tell me, Gabe, do you believe in superpowers?"

He shouldn't. But for Alex, he'll believe in anything.

Hoo boy. There's been a lot over the last couple days. Sorry again for the delays crew.. and thank you so much for all the kindness and love you've been sending to me and my dad.

I just wanted to say tonight that it's been so damn lovely seeing everyone happy again. Sure there's been some conjecture too as there always will be with big fan events, but for the most part-- the pure amount of joy and fun that came out of Babe Day and the S2 Finale Anniversary was something that recharged my tired heart with love.
