Holmes & Watson (2018) is an overlooked masterpiece of garbage movies. it's decently funny and the artistic direction is so bold and interesting. the costuming is literally masterfully done, so colorful and unique, so many colors and textures. so you don't have to watch it but you should know that I've seen it three times and I enjoy it.

An AU and an OC
Lucia Santoro
Born: July 31, 1865
Tumblr media
Extensive details below:
Lucia Santoro was born into a poor family in Italy, raised by her mother and grandfather. From an early age, she possessed the ability to see and communicate with spirits, a gift that set her apart and shaped her life in profound ways. At the age of four, her spiritual abilities became apparent, much to the horror of her mother, who believed Lucia was mentally unstable. In contrast, her grandfather embraced her gift, encouraging her to treat spirits with kindness and compassion, nurturing her empathetic nature. However, when her grandfather passed away, her mother, unable to cope with Lucia’s abilities, tragically took her own life, leaving Lucia orphaned at just seven years old.
Lucia’s childhood was marked by isolation and bullying from other children who labeled her a freak for speaking to spirits. This alienation led her to prefer the company of spirits over humans, which severely hindered her social skills and ability to connect with others. However, her life took a turn when she was visited by a spirit named Celia, an elegant noblewoman who acted as a guardian and teacher. Under Celia’s guidance, Lucia learned English, etiquette, and various skills that would help her survive in a male-dominated society. She also picked up more mischievous talents from other spirits such as lockpicking.
Lucia’s teenage years were shaped by her connection to the spiritual world. Her first romantic crush was on a spirit, though she quickly ended the relationship upon realizing she would age while he remained the same. This experience reinforced her preference for spirits over living people, whom she found difficult to relate to. Nevertheless, she continued to build meaningful connections with her spirit companions, who came and went as they pleased, making her a valuable ally to those stuck between the physical and spiritual worlds.
However, not all spirits were kind. Lucia was haunted by the knowledge that women with her abilities often died young, driven to madness by their powers. The oldest known medium before her had died at the age of 20 and as Lucia passed this milestone, she became consumed by the fear that her time was running out. She stopped caring about her appearance and lived with a fatalistic outlook, resigned to the possibility that she could die at any moment.
Around her 23rd birthday, Lucia traveled to England, determined to make the most of whatever time she had left. Equipped with a Grimoire that allowed her to interact with spirits in various ways, she could temporarily summon spirits into physical form, empower them, or even cleanse them of evil. Lucia’s unique connection with the spiritual world extended to animals as well, with her current “pet” spirit, Fairy, being a mischievous, shape-shifting entity that often took the form of a cat.
Though highly skilled at conversing with spirits and using her abilities, Lucia struggled with the living. Her anxiety and unease around people stemmed from years of being shunned and even harmed by others. She found comfort in the company of her ghostly companions. Nevertheless, she possessed a sassy, witty attitude that she used as a shield, deflecting attention from her vulnerabilities. Beneath this exterior, Lucia was a deeply compassionate and nurturing person, particularly toward those she cared for, whether living or dead.
Despite her past traumas and the constant specter of her own mortality, Lucia Santoro remains a resilient and resourceful woman, determined to live life on her own terms—even as she walks the fine line between life and death.
• Lucia can speak 3 languages: English and Italian fluently, and a handful of French needed to use her Grimoire.
• She loves spicy food.
• While she doesn't like reading, she loves the mystery genre.
• Her favorite animals include rats and snails.
Integrating Her Into Canon:
Lucia Santoro first enters the Black Butler storyline after hearing rumors from the spirits about a mysterious incident involving a businessman named Damien Rossi, who had a traumatic experience at the Phantomhive estate. Though Lucia is initially indifferent, her curiosity is piqued, especially when a spirit reminds her that her former mentor, Celia, had always wanted her to visit England. With her own days possibly numbered due to the madness that plagues spirit mediums, Lucia decides to take this journey as her "last trip."
Guided by helpful spirits, she arrives in London without any formal documentation, awed by the bustling city’s contrast to her humble upbringing. Soon after, she encounters a gentleman spirit named Felix, who offers to assist her. Felix, knowing Lucia’s goal to investigate the Phantomhive estate, helps her blend in with the upper class by teaching her the right words to say and advising her to use her Grimoire to alter her appearance. She transforms from a bedraggled traveler into a refined lady, gaining entry to a party hosted by Viscount Druitt.
Once inside, Lucia and Felix begin their search for the young Earl Phantomhive, but fail to locate him, as Ciel is in disguise. Felix departs to scout the mansion, leaving Lucia alone. Though she draws no attention at first, her solitude is soon interrupted by the Viscount himself, who approaches her with his usual charm. Lucia, mistaking him for a spirit due to his "sparkling aura," dismisses his advances, not wanting to be seen conversing with a spirit in public.
The Viscount, intrigued by her casual dismissal, persists, asking if she has come with anyone. She mentions Felix, which piques the Viscount's curiosity, as he recognizes no such guest. It’s only when he formally introduces himself as Aleister Chamber, the Viscount of Druitt, that Lucia realizes her mistake, her pale expression betraying her surprise and embarrassment.
While Lucia initially wants to slip away, she also feels oddly captivated by him. So instead of attempting to find Felix she continues on their conversation. Since people are usually put off by her off behavior, she wants to use this as a chance to hone her abysmal people skills.
This ultimately alters the canon events from this point on, since she ends up distracting him enough that he never even meets Ciel, nor attempts to auction him off in an underground bidding site.
Tumblr media
Wait... Hold up, you ship her with him? Why?
I thought I'd put a little explanation here before continuing since this involves a rather controversial character in the fandom: Aleister Chamber (otherwise known as Viscount Druitt).
Canonically, this guy is a mess. While he is definitely pretty and fun, he does a lot of stuff that goes beyond questionable. Just want to put it out there that I do not condone or encourage his actions in canon.
However, that is canon Aleister. The version I am writing is a variant. This Aleister still has his own issues, but certain aspects of his character will not show up in the AU. He'll still be fairly weird and dramatic, but a little more tame in comparison to his less savory actions in canon.
Needless to say, there will be a heavy amount of character development for him. I find him to be a very interesting character, for while he doesn't have a whole lot of scenes, he has a way of making those few appearances very memorable.
Their relationship:
As stated before above, Aleister and Lucia meet at the same party he was hosting when Ciel had come to investigate if he was Jack the Ripper. They get caught up in a conversation together and for some reason, it doesn't seem to end. Ultimately, this leads to her sleeping over at his place.
Not knowing anything about this man other than he's a fancy noble, is fun to talk to and is extremely handsome, she gets into bed with him. But it was good enough for her and she wouldn't pass up this once in a lifetime chance. He'd probably forget about her and move onto the next woman soon enough, given his type.
Oh how wrong she was.
This little change offsets the plot in such a way that instead of Aleister becoming obsessed with his "Robin", his target becomes Lucia instead. After that little one-night stand, Lucia will end up running into him several more times. Sometimes coincidentally and other times, it's very clear that he came looking for her. Either way, Lucia is his dedicated target and he's not letting her slip out of his sights any time soon.
The feelings are semi-mutual. It's not entirely one sided on Aleister's part as Lucia genuinely finds herself enjoying him, weird quirks and all. She's never uncomfortable by his behavior, even if he touches her without warning. She'll even flirt back, but only if no one else is looking.
Being friendly, the flirtation and hooking up is all fine and dandy for Lucia—at least until real feelings get involved. She initially saw him as a bit of a fantasy fling, a romance with someone under normal circumstances she could never hope to achieve. It was never in her intentions to be with him in a long term scenario and she fully expected him to grow bored of her since he's quite the Casanova.
However, with her current condition of impending madness, she's closed off to the idea of having a proper relationship with anyone. It would be cruel to both parties. So she's already resigned to the idea that she can't have him. Besides, he's a noble and she's a commoner. That alone should be enough deterrent for her to not fall in love.
Easier said than done.
What all will be altered in the AU:
Everything starting with the Red Butler Arc onwards (or episode 4 of the anime series), the AU will be taking creative liberties. Main events will still occur, specifically ones that involve Ciel investigating on the Queen's orders. Of course there will be plenty of new scenes that will also impact future events.
The infamous season 2 of the anime will also be rewritten and repurposed. Most people do not consider the second anime season canon and disregard it as it's not mentioned in the manga plotline. However, some of the characters and scenes have potential to be fleshed out and serve a larger purpose (though I won't say more to keep things spoiler free for when I write it).
Interactions with other characters:
Lucia will meet a lot of characters in this AU. A lot of the interactions will be fun, considering her awkwardness with real people.
One I think will be especially interesting is if Lucia were to meet Charles Grey in the future. She'd probably be initially impressed with his swordsmanship, but things start to get more complex when his fear of ghosts is revealed.
Aside from Lucia, there are other, more minor, original characters that will be making appearances.
Will there be other ships/pairings?
If you've made it this far in my long text of ramblings, I assume that this may be of interest as well.
While I won't outright say the planned pairings as I want to give a little bit of surprise, I will say that there are a few that are very much rarepairs. Some characters who never meet in the original plotline will meet in this one.
None of them will fully take over the plot, they will mostly be side relationships that will develop in the background (but progress will be seen through little snippets here and there).
Hope you enjoyed reading this. Might turn this into a full on story at some point (hopefully).

In all the Good Omens stories I'm currently working on, the child Crowley eventually ends up with (having it, not romantically involved with a child) is a girl. He strikes me as a girl dad (and mom), really. Yes, imagining Crowley as a parent at all is wild, but that's a different can of worms.
Thing is, I have to come up with a story where Crowley has a son named Aleister. You... Understand why, don't you?.. Right.
It could be Fem!Crowley x Hastur (I feel it would be Hastur's idea), or Crowley x Fem!Reader (definitely Reader's idea).
I think, this may open some doors for comedy? Reader (or Fem!Crowley) could have a mental breakdown, fearing a snake may slither out of her when time comes. Though, admittedly, a snake would likely cause less discomfort than a human.
...If the previous paragraph made you think of a certain song, I like you.
Hell, even if the child is born in human form, it might shapeshift, no? I guess, you could pretend you're taking your pet snake out in a stroller (I bet there are reptile owners that insane in reality). Only, when the "pet snake" starts crying or babbling, you'd have a real problem, because... Reptiles don't do that. There wouldn't be any religious people around, hopefully.
Damn, this made me laugh. I'm sitting at my desk, drinking my coffee, laughing like a maniac. Let's be serious, I'm probably incapable of writing comedy, just angst, gore... Romance, but not comedy.

Me: so, in the game Lobotomy Corporation, eleven of the thirteen characters are named after the ineffable Kabbalistic Sefirot, and a lot of other things within the game, from its lore to its mechanics, draw on similar elements.
Aleister Crowley: you went to the MOON?
Me: so, do you think that representing "Netzach" as a defeated alcoholic serves to underscore the idea that the characters are, in fact, headed away from their objective, since "victory" itself has become dejected, and they're all introduced from Malkuth and then down the Tree instead of up?
Aleister Crowley: the MOON in the fucking SKY???

I have a version of Sherlock Holmes that lives in my head that is a schizo junkie with OCD that mostly mutters and obsesses about things he doesn't understand until he understands them, which is nothing like any real version of Sherlock Holmes but he has me tricked into thinking I like Sherlock Holmes when I don't, I like the weird fag that lives in my head that pretends to be Sherlock Holmes
