I'm working on building another Magic the Gathering deck. I don't have a problem, I can quit anytime. Of course I had to do another proxy art for my commander. This time I was going for a kind of Range Murata very smooth airbrushed kind of look.

I've been making my own custom Magic the Gathering cards for a while now, but I started really getting into it this week and thought I'd post some!

Mawasi Al-Qarara Mutual Aid Project (MAQMAP) is aiming to provide the displaced families in Mawasi Al-Qarara refugee camp with car fare so that they can move back to their home cities.

These people have been forced from their homes via the most brutal means imaginable. A vital part of resistance to settler-colonialism and genocide is steadfastness in the land. Palestinians are going to need solidarity as they relocate and rebuild.

Trump instantly, in his first few weeks, is trying to ensure Palestinians will never get their home back. The "ceasefire" was only because he and netanyahu decided they had won the battle and can now do what they want with the land. Those who love trump and love netanyahu are confident that palestine is being "ended," and are bragging about it as of today:

my best friend & I made an album! I sing & play guitar and there are strings and synths and some crunchy harmonies. 100% of proceeds from album sales go to Ahmed, a Palestinian evacuee. I'm very proud of my work on this & would be glad if you guys would check it out!!

I feel like in the chaos it's easy to forget that a few weeks ago, Vivek Ramaswamay made a post about how white civilization is falling behind southeast Asia because we don't venerate nerds like Urkel and Screech from Saved by the Bell. And his post was so cringe he lost a position in the trump administration.

Anyway the reason I haven't been on in the last few days is because I got on Strattera recently and one of the side effects is that I've been hyperfixating on trying to learn Magic: the Gathering — but I've been reading about it in Incognito mode so I don't mess up my algorithm, so I haven't been logged in.

📣 TLDR; we are about to become homeless if we cannot find a way to please the slumlord, or we must stay at a motel. it is a matter of homelessness. goal: 0/500usd

🏡❗️ the house had a decent run, it isn't anything to scream about. it's ridden with memories none of us want to keep, and at the point it's demanding we leave. we have to set up shop elsewhere, because the slumlord demands it.

❓where will you go❓ presently; nowhere. me + Veronica Mezquiti as well as my younger brother + our cats have nowhere to go. our best gander for the future is a motel, or some place we can afford in the interim between being jobless, without government help, and on a quick trajectory downwards.

it is a steep hill to fall down once you've been wrongfully evicted. we have called our city resources and most everything has turned up blank. our abilities are low.

Something to watch for, which I learned from stage magic but which is extremely relevant to detecting scams as well:

The magician or scammer will *tell you* how he is going to prove his honesty.

The magician rifles through the deck until you say "stop", then he says, "Are you sure? I'll keep going if you want." and asks "Now, you agree that you could have stopped anywhere you wanted, so there's absolutely no way I could know which card you got" and because it's a magic show and you aren't paying close attention you didn't notice he didn't deal a card from where you stopped, he dealt the bottom card of the deck.

The magician doesn't ask you, "What would it take for you to believe this" because you might say, "I'd need you to use a sealed deck" or "I'd have to personally shuffle the deck" or some other proof that would make the trick impossible.

Magicians say "You agree that if I did *this*, it would mean *that*, right?" and you say yes, and it feels like you are the one who got to verify things, but of course the magician is lying and the proof is nothing of the kind.

Scammers do the same thing. A really concrete example is phone scammers pretending to be working for the government will say, "Look, I see you're skeptical if I'm who I say I am, I'm going to hang up and call back, and you'll see on the caller ID it says, 'FBI' and that tells you that I'm really working for the government."

Now, caller ID can be spoofed pretty easily, so it doesn't prove anything at all.

But it *feels* to you like you demanded proof and the scammer was willing to give you the proof.

But you didn't tell the scammer what out would take to prove it to you, the scammer told you what the proof would be.

This is actually like a really basic thing to look for if you want to start decoding magic tricks and scams.
