400 days and 76 years
RNN:
*Numbers of martyred and wounded is what is recorded, not actual, actual is higher
This photo shows the extent of destruction by the zionist entity on the Gaza Strip in the last year, with each red dot representing a bombing.
With 85,500 tons of explosives dropped (seven nuclear bomb equivalents), this means that and equivalent of 38 kilograms of explosives have been dropped on every man, woman, and child in the Gaza Strip.
This means that 1.8 tons (1,800 kg) of explosives was used for every martyr, including the over 10,000 children killed by the occupation.
According to the Government Media Office and UN, 66% of buildings have been destroyed (over 200,000 homes), 68% of crops, 3,130 kilometers of electricity networks, 330,000 meters of water networks, 655,000 meters of sewage networks, and 2,835,000 meters of road and street networks.
This is what a genocide looks like.
A new report by the UN Human Rights Office found that 70% of the martyrs in Gaza are women and children, in the six months between November 2023 and April 2024.
80% of the martyrs ascended in residential buildings, killed by American weapons. 44% of them were children, and 26% are women.
The most represented age group was children between the ages of 5 and 9. The youngest verified martyr as a result of the IOF aggression was a one-day-old boy, while the oldest was a 97-year-old woman.
The report also noted deliberate communications blackouts and bombing of communication infrastructure, targeting of journalists (making Gaza "the most dangerous place on earth for journalists"), mass displacement, attacks on educational sites, attacks (bombings and invasions) on hospitals—rendering them non-functional—among other crimes.
In the last 400 days of genocide, 3,759 massacres have been carried out by the IOF, resulting in 53,508 martyrs and missing, including 17,000 children (786 under one year old), 12,000 females, 1,047 medical staff, 85 civil defense, and 185 journalists, as well as 37 martyrs by starvation. 1,206 Palestinian families have been erased from the civil registry.
85,500 tons of explosives have been dropped in the last year, equivalent to 7 nuclear bombs, or nearly 2 tons per martyr.
Martyrs continue to ascend daily, particularly in the besieged northern Gaza Strip, amidst a lack of Civil Defense, medical care, and media coverage.

A great victory of gay men's culture is developing a concise and widely understood language for men to dress sluttily. Unfortunately it's extremely specific and not actually something I'm more than incidentally into. But that's okay, because the primary purpose is served! One of the great disasters of heterosexual culture is that there is no obvious way for a boy to slut it up a little. This goes along with another great failure of heterosexuality, which is the cultural aversion to propositioning men. This is not a problem with gay culture, the reason is left as an exercise to the reader.

every time I’m in a gocey store I think about all the insane I mean neurodivergent interpersonal drama that could be going on behind the scenes as well as all the management pressure, like how your store has that productivity chart. The price of goceys is rough for me but the-everything-else is rough for employees. Also the price is also rough for employees. I’d raise your wages to one million dollars per hour if I could.
oh yeah they took the productivity chart down because everyone was making fun of how dystopian it was but now for tracking productivity you have to sign a paper for management saying you'll improve your speed if your metric goes down💀💀💀 also I got confronted by a manager because I got 124 items within a certain amount of time instead of the ideal 125 once...

reddit is absolutely unhinged right now it has me feeling like I'M the weird one for saying don't fucking get your neighbor's family deported by ICE because one family member voted trump. actually I got hate before on *this site* for saying don't make fun of a teen girl dying in childbirth just because she was pro life so maybe some people need to grow and change as a person. it's deranged to fantasize about these things especially when you portray yourself as otherwise progressive? i'm not sure you were the one most scared of a trump presidency if you feel you can so easily leverage these policies against others without consequence anyway

ok last thing. but what people fundamentally need to get through their heads is the significance of gaza fundraisers not being the same as like mutual aid when you're helping someone get groceries, because it is a genocide. there is insane deliberate scarcity and prices are unmanageable, because there is nowhere nearly enough for everyone, so only people who can pay can eat. and what positioning individual fundraisers as the only course of action does is quite simply give a tiny percentage of random people whose fundraisers take off the ability to pay those prices while thousands of others can't. and every one of those thousands of people without a fundraiser is suffering through the same inconceivably horrific reality. it is giving a few completely desperate people out of hundreds of thousands a slightly more favorable position in a horrific war economy of imposed scarcity. and what grassroots community kitchens do is try to mitigate in some small way that inconceivable hierarchy of who can pay and who can't, by stretching ingredients as far as they can last to cook meals at large scale and give them out at no cost. and obviously people are still going to send money to their friends and families because this is hell what else are we supposed to do but please just think about that before promoting endless individual fundraisers as somehow the most ethical way to help

what I wish people would understand about fundraising for gaza is that while everyone is desperate and I would never say not to fundraise for or donate to individual families-- I currently fundraise to support multiple friends' families-- the overwhelming narrative I see on Tumblr that the best and most ethical thing you can do is send money to individuals and there is no option for anything else is so so incredibly damaging and inadvertently lends support to the marginalization and distrust of any remaining communal social infrastructure. the sameer project, which you should donate to, talks about this in a recent video they put out. the situation in gaza is unimaginable and everyone is in need of a huge level of support, and yet this fundraising discourse by well-meaning people in the west that donating money to individuals is the only moral way reproduces societal divides wherein resources are directed to people who speak English, who have relationships with people outside of gaza, and who have internet access while hundreds of thousands are left behind.
there ARE non-ngo locally based grassroots initiatives working to meet those needs however they can, and your small donation goes a lot further with them because they are able to buy food/water/supplies in bulk at a reduced price and reach more people with less money. again I'm not saying people shouldn't fundraise for individuals because these initiatives are so limited and many people cannot access them -- but as an example, the group I fundraise with is currently serving people fleeing north gaza who are starving and have nothing, and when we fundraise enough to do cash aid distribution there's so much need that our partners can only distribute 100-200 per large family. and then I go online and see people who have absolutely no understanding of this context at all exclusively working towards raising tens of thousands for just a few people when evacuations haven't been possible for months. it's good to do whatever you can but please consider how this narrative being reproduced among westerners trying to help that there are no other options has the potential to damage groups working towards equity and wider reach however is still possible
