Fannie M. Richards (October 1, 1840 – February 13, 1922) was an educator. She created the first kindergarten program in Michigan, and for that was inducted into the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame. She protested against the segregation of Detroit Public Schools.
She was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia to Aldoph and Maria Richards. She moved to Toronto and was educated both there and in Germany, working in Germany with German educator Friedrich Fröbel. She moved to Detroit and was allowed to teach there despite not having the correct license. In 1863, she opened a private school for African American children and was appointed the Instructor at Colored School #2.
Working with John J. Bagley, she protested against the segregated school system in Detroit; which the Michigan Supreme Court mandated the abolition of in 1871. That same year she started working at Everett Elementary School and established the first kindergarten class in Michigan. She founded the Phyllis Wheatly Home for Aged Colored Ladies in Detroit and cofounded the Michigan Association of Colored Women. She retired from teaching in 1915.
Her home was added to the State of Michigan Registry of Historic Sites on November 14, 1974. A portrait of Miss Fannie M. Richards, painted by Detroit artist Telitha Cumi Bowens, was included in the 1988/89 exhibit “Ain’t I A Woman” at the Museum of African American History, Detroit. The exhibit featured a dozen prominent African American women from the state of Michigan, including Ethelene Jones Crockett, M.D., the Honorable Cora M. Brown, and Dr. Violet T. Lewis. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

These examples of Victorian architecture were once the private residences of leading Milwaukee citizens on Highland blvd. between N. 29th and N. 30th sts. The house third from left was built in 1892 for malt tycoon Aldoph Zinn. It featured a round turret, tudor style gable, huge stone chimneys which served the 10 fireplaces that heated the house, and porte cochere or covered carriage entrance. Zinn built the limestone mansion a few years before his malting company, later known as Milwaukee Malt and Grain Co., became the largest in the country. The Zinn home was between that of H. J. Kieckhefer, president of Enterprise Box and Lumber Co., at right, and Charles Manegold, jr., president of Manegold Milling Co., and in the same neighborhood as the Gustav Pabsts, the Frederick Millers, and the Frederick Usingers. When the neighborhood's days of glory passed, the Zinn home was chopped up into a 25 unit rooming house and later razed, as were others in the area to make way for an apartment building. (Picture and information from the local history collection of the Milwaukee public library.)

10 YEARS THAT I LOVED YOU THE MOST
Tumblr media
I've loved you the most for most of my life. Now I am a piece of crumpled paper in the corner you would never glimpse. I thought you would be my today and all of my tomorrows. I imagined that someday you would turn around again and stare at me with all your love. However, when our love is gone, I'll just pick a sunny afternoon with gentle wind, put on my coat, and leave for good...
I present to y'all a piece of shounen-ai that will provide you a roller coaster of emotional breakdown and rage. This piece of manhua shall shatter your heart into pieces, now you can forget about "In another life" and feel free to bawl your eyes out for crying so hard that you feel nothing...
"SPOILER"
We got our two main characters Lewis and Aldoph 2 poor guys who loved each other since high school and have been through so much together to create a future together. Our precious bottom Lewis who thought his sacrifices finally going to pay off, but no Aldoph being a DI*KHEAD cheated and treat our baby like sh*t, Lewis who carry an incurable disease and suffer under the terrible treatment by his own love accidentally met a doctor who treated him so precious, take good care of him. Where will this love story go?
P.s Aldoph cheated and made both men who love him so dearly, his wife and his mistress both withered away and never returned anymore. Like beautiful flowers that fade away.
[Mistress and Wife is both men]
