These are Wesley and Morgan - left and right - from my WIP novel Light and Shadow. Y'know.. the one I abandoned 8 months and 43k words in..?

Anyways. Story follows these two teens as they finish middle school, stumble across a goddess, and go on a quest with her to wake her god-brother from his thousand-year-slumber.

Still refining the plot for attempt 2, and if things go as well as last time, I'll have about 30k words by December :p

they say if you repeat the words 'sad middle-aged robot detective' three times, i'll appear out of nowhere!

god, okay. this one. i thought i'd do something out of my comfort zone and swung way too far the other way; unfamiliar character, extremely unfamiliar artstyle, the rps marker tools (which i have never used) made to emulate real alcohol markers (which i have also never used), the absolute worst canvas choice for those tools, done in colour (i work almost exclusively in greyscale) and at one point i tried to go for some crazy cool-toned light/warm shadow thing. typically my speedpaints are pretty straightforward, but this one is all footage of me trying to wrangle my way out of my mistakes, which is valuable in its own way. if nothing else, it's trained my problem solving, though the smart play would have been to avoid 80% of the problems. live and learn

So this new marker pad has a white cover, and, as you know, any white surface is an unused canvas, so I replicated my test drawing of Inko and added upside-down Toshi because what else would I do with the remaining space? Haha.

The cover page is of a different material, and the alcohol markers behaved quite a bit differently. Still happy with the result tho.

I've not been able to do much art recently with finals, travel, and losing my Apple Pencil. So have this old art piece! it's my favorite one I've ever drawn actually :)
