I’m pretty quiet on tumblr these days, aside from the frequent reblogs, but I’m flattered to be tagged by @fallingIntokillugon so I’ll give this a go! 7 comfort films that can always brighten my day are...

-A Goofy Movie: One of my all time favorite movies. The ultimate throwback-to-my-childhood films!

-The Parent Trap (1998 version): Another top favorite, mainly because of the nostalgia involved. This film came out at a really great time in my life and the entire movie from start to finish (soundtrack and all) takes me back to the days I wish I could relive.

-50 First Dates: Yet another all time fave. It’s all about the tropical aesthetic of this movie that really invokes all the feel-good vibes. Not only is it a classic Drew Barrymore/Adam Sandler flick, but it’s also a creative love story that I’ve always enjoyed watching unfold. The ending makes me cry EVERY TIME, in the best way.

-Moana: I just love this film. Once again, that tropical aesthetic gets me, but it’s also highly motivating. I BLAST How Far I’ll Go when I feel like I need an extra dose of inspiration. Overall, it’s just a beautifully animated movie with some of the most gorgeous scenes I’ve seen in animation to date.

-Coco: I have a huge soft spot for this Pixar masterpiece. I find deep comfort in its’ story and the representation of Día De Los Muertos. It’s such a wonderful film with outstanding characters and a moving message about family and remembering/honoring your loved ones. I can watch it over and over and never get tired of it.

-Whisper of the Heart (Studio Ghibli): This should speak for itself... Ghibli films are nearly all works of art with meaningful stories and atmospheres that spark your imagination one second and bring great contentment the next. I particularly love Whisper of the Heart because the main character is a writer, much like myself, and I’ve always been able to resonate with her.

-The Sound of Music: This is just a classic comfy movie. Need I say more?

These are the first movies that came to mind... And there are plenty of others, I assure you.
