Lolol the thing about Saiki is that it's not even just about hiding his powers. If it was then he would have been more open about caring when it became very, very apparent that his friends were not going to leave, regardless of how distant he acted. The distance and apathy were supposed to keep people from sticking around, which doesn't work on people who refuse to fucking leave. But it's like. If Saiki shows the extent of how much he cares, which at the end of the day is what is truly at his core as a person, then he'd have to accept the fact that them leaving him is because they didn't like who he was, not just the persona he puts on. And like, to a kid who's spent his entire life running away before he can get hurt, being forced to face the fact that your loved ones had been right when they said your very existence was enough to make you rejectable would be devastating lmao

Shocked that I never realized this before, but did anyone else catch that Gillian named Angeal after herself? It's much more obvious with Japanese pronunciation.

Gillian → gilli-an → an-gilli → an-gil → Angeal

ジリアン → アンジリ → アンジーリ → アンジール

She named the project after herself, named Genesis after the project and therefore indirectly after herself, and then also named Angeal after herself.

I see now what Hollander meant, in the original Japanese, when he corrected Angeal in Modeoheim. Gillian acted out of pride every step of the way, didn't she?

Really lends credence to my "Gillian never actually left Project G" theory.

Missing

He had lost something. Well, that was obvious, Jon had lost plenty of things: his family, his friends, and nearly his life more times than he could count. (Or, rather, more times than he cared to mention. He Knew the exact number.)

He remembered how afraid he was all those times. The pure terror, the fear that fed the entities that had plagued their world for so long. Barely a crumb compared to the dreadful feast they have before them now. The one that he brought forth. The one that he could walk through unscathed (along with Martin, by association). 

He remembered how each mark, whether physical or symbolic, had taken away another part of himself. He could practically feel them ripping away his humanity piece by piece, and it terrified him.

Yet it felt so right.

But something was still missing. Even now, he could feel the absence brought about by each of his marks, and in that absence arose something new. It felt distant, and Jon couldn't quite make out what it was, but as he and Martin slowly journeyed to the Panopticon, he could feel it inching its way to the surface.

Closer and closer with every day that passed, with every step they took. Until Jonah Magnus finally fell from his throne and the Eye found its new Pupil. That distant feeling burst through the surface of his being and bloomed.

He could See everything so much clearer now. He could feel the neverending fear from everyone and everything in this hell - all of it flowing through him, filling all the emptiness within. And Jon hadn't felt more like himself in years.

just remembered how my middle school orchestra teacher (taught orchestra for all grades but was also 8th grade science teacher) got suspended w/o pay for a couple months for a parent reporting that he was "reading pornography to children" when in reality he was reading enders game to his homeroom class and part of it was just where like. it briefly mentioned like. ender being naked or smth.

In case anybody isn't aware, there's a brief backstory about a certain Spy vs. Spy short

Good evening, folks. The Spy vs. Spy short that had to do with ventriloquism from MADtv is basically another fan favorite besides Defection. Not to mention that it's also the only short where anybody has spoken a single word at all.

I will admit, I do find the raspy voices, and the incomprehensible babble, the spies were given (especially White Spy) pretty interesting and, just like the suppressed snickering they had throughout most of the shorts, it suits them very well to some degree.

I've heard rumors that the spies were probably voiced by Bryan Callen right up until he left the show right after season two. Is this true? I dunno, but it may be possible.

Anyhow, in case anybody isn't aware, this whole incident was actually provoked when Black taunted White by shouting profanities at the latter whilst he was minding his own business, as seen at the very beginning of the original paperback strip.

Geesh, as much I like Black Spy and all, he can be such a huge wise-ass (I kinda did want to slug Black in the gut for straight up taunting White like that, I will admit). Well, it all came back to bite him on the ass when White retaliated by inventing a mini speaker and a mini microphone so that..well I'd see the events unfold in the video if I were you (and/or check out the original paperback strip, too; if y'all happen to have that paperback book with this strip), and the rest is history.

I miss 2019 when I was actually feeling generally positive about voting labour. obviously the result (nationwide and in my constituency) was awful but at least I could feel pretty good about what my vote was going towards. whereas now I'm voting knowing that labour will certainly win the election and have a good chance at my seat and yet it doesn't really feel good at all :/
