It would be so funny if radioapple was canon and then we meet alastor's mom

Because imagine this scenario. You are Mama Al. You're a good Christian woman and you love your son with all your heart and firmly believe he's a good person(even if he does have trouble with the ladies)

Then you die and get sent to heaven. And You're waiting for your son. In fact, you're happy to, the longer you wait means that he had a good long life.

Until nearly a century passes and you have to give up the ghost and ask that nice young woman Emily and confirm what you'd been fearing for the last 30 years. Your sweet little baby is in HELL of all places, and he got there relatively soon after you got to heaven

And it breaks your heart, but you have to know why. why that sweet little baby that loved catching and brining home frogs went to hell. and it breaks your heart. so much death, so much PAIN. and all at the hand of your little boy. And he KEPT doing it in hell, to the point that he's one of the scariest things down there, and it's not like there's a shortage of scary evil things there. Oh you just wish you could give him such a talking to.

and then canon happens and visitors from heaven are allowed to go down as long as it's to encourage people to redeem themselves. Now's your chance! you hop on down and you walk up those hotel steps about to tan your little boy's backside for all the lying and suffering he caused

and you find him cuddled up with THE DEVIL. The actual fallen angel Lucifer, and your little boy is ENGAGED TO HIM!!!??? and they're raising the antichrist together???!!!(sweet girl, honestly, if there's one bright spot to the situation, she's really a perfectly lovely granddaughter)

Then you find out the devil is a total sweetheart. and you have to wonder what went wrong. How do you fuck up a child so bad that marrying the actual biblical devil is the goodest thing he's ever done?

What’s Husk relationship with Alastor’s mom? He seems to not like her in the same way that he didn’t like Mimzy

Well... He knows what is she, but he likes her more than Mimzy. At least he knows that she's not using Alastor for power and doesn't bring troubles with her all the time

She's still a kind woman, just little bit fucked up and is supportive of her psychopath son. She's kind to people she knows, this includes Husk and Niffty (and the Hotel gang now too)

btw, Anna (Al's mom) doesn't like Mimzy too. For same reasons as Husk.

I really like your art and your way of thinking about what Alastor's family and the duo of assassins would be like when they were human, it's a shame that the creator of Habzin Hotel doesn't explore this part much. Throughout your AU I had some questions, if you don't mind asking, are you going to delve deeper into Alastor's family history? Or even Mimzy's? Just my curiosity, hehe. I wonder what his sisters' lives were like, or even how his parents came to meet. But as I said, it's just curiosity, you don't have to answer if you don't want to, sorry if I seemed rude. I'm still hopeful that we'll get more Al and Mimzy interactions! After all 4 seasons are waiting XD

That's ok to ask these questions. That means that you're interested in my AU which is really flattering. The only problem is that I don't have enough time to draw everything I planned. I wanna dive deeper into the story of Al's family since these characters caught people's interest. The same applies to my headcanons of Mimzy's past (I briefly wrote about it in this ask). I'm currently working on a few comics. The first ones are episodes of besties' first murders. The other comic in the work is an episode with Al's family (dad's death).

I'm planning to write a separate post about Alastor's sisters' lives after their parents' death. It's gonna be a long one 😅 So stay tuned for that.

The story of their parents' first meeting though. Their father (Jean-Marie Beaupré) was a 25-year-old musician, an immigrant from Europe. After cutting ties with his parents, he traveled to America in search of a new life and opportunities. He was able to find a job as a court musician (a violinist) for a wealthy family. Their mother (Eugénie) also served there as a governess and kid's nanny. She was 21 at that time.

Eugénie was drawn to the moody, brooding musician for some reason (maybe she wanted her life to be like a romance novel she secretly read). In short, she initiated the first conversation with him. In turn, JM was fascinated by the young lady's optimism and her ability to see the good even where it seemed to him everything was meaningless. After a series of secret meetings and quiet conversations in the garden, they began to fall for each other.

I got bored n decided to take a shot a designing an angel Alastor I also took a shot at designing his parents too :)c think their names wud be Ethel and Auguste 👀 they run a small bakery together and Alastor helps out here n there!

I often think about a What If scenario in which Alastor's mother was actually just. Not a good mom. I don't mean in a "she's evil" sense or anything, I just mean it in a "she didn't want children" sense. Or at least, not children with Alastor's father.

I like to think about Alastor's mother doing her best, but her best isn't good enough because 1, this wasn't the life she wanted, and 2, her child's face reminds her of a man she hates. As a consequence, she doesn't actually love Alastor, and feels guilty about it.

Meanwhile, Alastor grows to understand his mother doesn't love him, but he still loves her because she stuck around anyways. Sure, she can't look him in the eyes, but she's still around, still feeding him, sewing patches into his clothes, teaching him life lessons. And most of all, she doesn't physically harm him, which isn't something he can say about his father.

Of course, the lack of love from both of his parents still does a lot of psychological harm that he's just not aware of.

IMAGINE IF AT THE END OF SEASON 2, WE GET LIKE A SCENE, LIKE, UH

OKAY IMAGINE THIS (also, excuse my horrible writing skills. please):

Sir Pentious was strolling around Heaven, only to spot a woman of a slightly small stature, adorned with black, curly hair, sitting on a bench close to the Heavenly Gates.

“Hello, my dear!” Sir Pentious smiled. “May I sssit here?”

“Oh my! Such good manners you have!” She smiled at the kind snake. “Of course you may sit here, kind sir!”

Sir Pentious grinned. “Why thank you, my dear! For the compliment, and the approval!” Sir Pentious sat down next to the woman.

A few moments of silence passed.

“May I asssk what you are doing here?” Sir Pentious asked.

The woman gently smiled, “Every now and then, the gates will open, revealing a newly dead person, seeing their wonderful, eternal home for the first time.” She put her hands together and beamed. “I love seeing their awestruck faces.” 

Her face turned into a bit of a solemn expression. “And I’m waiting for someone important to me. I don’t know how long I’ve been waiting… But I know he will come soon.” She said, her eyes starting to water. 

“Oh, don’t cry, my dear!” Sir Pentious frowned and wiped the woman’s tears away. 

“I’m fine, my kind sir.” The woman smiled, tears continuing to run down her face. She turned to Sir Pentious with an empathetic expression. “Remember to smile, my friend!” She said, her fingers pointing to the edges of her upturned lips. “You’re never fully dressed without one!”

Sir Pentious chuckled at what the woman did.

“That’s the spirit, my friend!”

The two laughed together for a few seconds, only for the silence to fall upon them again.

Sir Pentious turned to face the woman with a curious expression. “I’m sssorry to asssk… but… who are you waiting for, my dear?”

The woman wiped her tears again, “Oh, I’m waiting for my wonderful son…”

“Alastor.”

AU where Lucifer went down to New Orleans sometime between 1900 and 1910, right in the middle of Mardi Gras. Charlie was about 100ish at this time, and while Lucifer and Lilith were still together, there was a growing emotional distance between them that had been going on for a few decades at this point. Lucifer's just trying to have some fun and forget his worries for a little while, and he does. And he meets a nice lady. A very nice Creole woman who makes a mean pot of jambalaya with a kick right out of hell. They hit it off and spend the majority of the celebration together.

They get drunk. Very drunk. Lucifer doesn't remember most of that night. The woman, Nicaise, is pregnant.

By some quirk of genetics, the child comes out indistinguishable from a normal human, if significantly paler than his dark-skinned mother. Growing up, Nicaise always tells her son that his daddy was an angel, but all the boy sees is that his father abandoned him and his mother in a world that doesn't look kindly on black women or single mothers. He watches his mother struggle, he watches her suffer, and he grows up resenting and hating the men who make her life hell. Especially his father.

Headcanon that Alastor's hair in his sinner form feels a lot more like fur than hair.

Also headcanon that as a human he had coarse, curly hair, but straightened it using a hot comb and hair products. His hair wasn't as tightly curled as his mother's, being a mixture of her and his father's hair types.

Also also headcanon that his mom had a coarse, kinky hair type, but also straightened it because the 1920s kinda sucked when it came to natural hair types for colored people. As she got older, though, she started straightening her hair less, because she learned to love her hair.

something a little different today

i don't really get personal often, but today is my mother's birthday. she died a few years ago and i'm not over it, but i really cherish the memories of everything she was to me

it's one of the reasons i really relate to alastor and how he feels about his mom

i had them making gumbo because it's something we made a lot at home when i was growing up, especially for cozy rainy days

(my personal headcanon name for her is Ezora Castrie)

EDIT: i forgot, i also tried to channel Mary Cassatt with the posing because my mom loved her work, and had one of her prints hanging over her bed
