also, I wanted to take this chance to share some of my thoughts about the face markings. it's shown to us that they're not just normal makeup, and have something to do with the shingi.

hear me out: the markings seem to be around the eyes (sense of sight), on the nose (sense of smell), on the lips (sense of taste) and their ears are just- like that.

well, I dont know much about the symbolism of them, but maybe they're for heightening their senses. maybe attuning them to the supernatural, even. so, could it be possible for them to have practical effects?
