Mohammed Alanqer, Enas Majed and their 3 children, Layan, Sara and Adam, had their home destroyed due to the genocide and were forced to move multiple times. Enas recently gave birth to their newborn on June 2nd, amidst the harsh conditions. Due to all these factors, they need to evacuate Gaza, but the fees for crossing the border are high.

As of July 2nd, 2024, they've raised €29,214 euros out of their €38,000 goal. Mohammed's brother, Abdallah Alanqar, is the one behind organizing the campaign.

Noor's family only has about 9,500 of the 40,000 euros they need to get to safety. Noor also has several young children, including a newborn, which means getting them to safety is especially important. They've been vetted and I know they have been working to get safety from the genocide for a while now. The family is also separated from Noor's husband by the violence between the north and south. I've been messaging back and forth with @mohammedalanqer after he shared his fundraiser with me, and very quickly into our conversation I offered to draw a comic about him to help boost his gofundme. he was incredibly excited about the idea and shared so many lovely pictures of his family for reference. the text is based off his story of him and his family living under constant bombardment, which you can read here.

My name is Salem, I am 26 years old. I am married to Hadeel, she is 25 years old, and we have two beautiful children: Laila (5 years old) and Bakr (five months old). We live in the northern part of Gaza.

Laila and Bakr are my heartbeat, the light of my life, and my everything.

The horrific story of the recent war in Gaza

Since the beginning of the last war in Gaza, our home has been completely destroyed, forcing us to be displaced. We had to move more than 10 times to find safety. During this harrowing journey, we faced extreme hunger and malnutrition that almost claimed the lives of me and my children. In addition, we have been exposed to many serious infectious diseases and epidemics.

Before: This is our homeland, our dream, and our promising future.

Unbearable hardships

Every day I have to travel long distances just to get water, and stand in lines for hours to get food. My children's mental health deteriorated due to the war, their education was interrupted, and they suffered from catastrophic hunger that almost claimed their lives.

After: This is our house, built with our sweat and effort, and it was completely destroyed.

The right to a peaceful life

My children deserve to live a peaceful life free of fear and anxiety. I dream of your help to support my family and escape this genocide. Your help means the world to me and my children.

The cost of arranging travel for an adult outside Gaza currently varies

Between $5,000 and $7,000, and $2,500 for each child, in addition to a cost of living of $500 per month.

he's only fifteen years old. younger than my youngest sibling. and he's responsible for saving the lives of his family. can you imagine having to grapple with that at 15? would you be able to handle the pressure?
