11. Who hogs the blankets or takes up more than their fair share of the bed? Who puts their cold feet on the other? Who are the big and little spoons?

Aymeric is the blanket hog of the three of them. Estinien tends to sprawl if he's not wrapped around or under someone.

Spoon positions swap around. Aymeric is almost always the big spoon, and he tucks himself at Kitali's back to avoid the horns. Kitali will usually curl up against someone or gets sandwiched in the middle. Estinien trades places between being big and little spoon about equally. It's much easier to have his hair stroked and played with if he's laying on someone's chest instead of behind them.

😈 What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done to an OC?

The funny thing is I think I've beaten up more OC's that ARENT mine, literally the first time I wrote for Astor (@tiredassmage) was when he got cut down by Zenos at the Reach, and the first time I wrote Phoenyx (@bnuuywol) he was getting sliced by a sin eater in Lakeland.

When it comes to my ladies, however...

Eden: nearly gets cut in two by Grynewaht's chainsaw sword in Doma Castle, she was saved by her sheer tenacity and the fact that her Phoenix aether will kick in and heal most mortal wounds. The biggest thing about this wound was that it had her genuinely fearful about her ability to have children in the future, luckily for her this was not the case.

Dropping the other two under the cut for more uncomfortable topics~

Kiana: spent a lot of time around Ilberd during the Crystal Braves arc, during which he was trying to influence her against her father to have a pawn of his own to force the Warrior of Light's hand and help him free Ala Mhigo. Keep in mind Kiana was at most sixteen at this point. While nothing severely inappropriate happened, there are broad strokes of grooming behavior (special treatment as his assistant on missions, personal 1 on 1 training, warning her against trusting the Scions or his father to set up their arrest at the Banquet, etc) that are still uh. Not great to think about. Ilberd is not a great dude.

Airi: gets dragged off as a heretic by Charibert when he ambushes the Forgotten Knight and is imprisoned in the Vault alongside Aymeric while Shay and the rest make their plans to stop Thordan. In the interim, she is subjected to torture of multiple forms from Paulecrain and Grinmaux, the former of which has a vendetta against the Fortemps (who expelled him after he had assaulted a noble of the House) and the latter has a vendetta specifically against Shay as a fellow Dzemael. Airi was found unconscious, bloody and bruised in her cell, and would not wake until long after Thordan and the Ward make their escape.

24. Was there something in the MSQ or even a side-questline, that inspired you to create them? Perhaps meeting the Sylphs or the Namazu? Or visiting the Unsundered World? Or even something to do with crafting or gathering?

For my original four; Lily, A'tyla, Benoit and the one who would become the Archeologist, nothing from the MSQ inspired them. I dipped into the FFXIV RP scene deep into Stormblood, and I was very against doing anything MSQ related. I barely remember side quests on a good day, so unlikely that those would be a source. You could say that A'tyla is just inspired by Seeker customs, but that's a stretch since she is a Hyur.

Past them however? Yasha and Tatiava are directly inspired by MSQ. They were actually the same character when I made them, but I couldn't decide if I liked the Middie or Thighlander more. So I split them, made one a gladiator turned WoL and the other a Garlean spy.

Lhei is directly tied to Sharlayan, but not necessarily inspired by some content there. Just a rogue scientist trying to figure something out.

Beat and Mai have nothing to do with FFXIV, they are purely pulled from my large roster of unplayed dnd characters. (forever dm here. I don't mind it, I like the role, but still have plenty of characters I would love to focus on!)

Myste is directly tied to MSQ with Dynamis being a thing. Jana is an old concept I had for Lily repurposed. So not really?

So its about half and half. Not bad, really. Maybe I should make a pixie or sylph tho....

Alannah's mom died when she was 17, now close to a decade ago. Their relationship was not great by most metrics.

Christaine Corvaine considered her daughter a sorry disappointment, as she was never a particularly healthy child, prone to severe allergies that would often leave her bedridden for days. It's rather difficult to put such a child to work on the family aldgoat farm, so she was relegated to the drudgery of housework for seven people. Nor did Christaine have high hopes of a decent marriage match to help support the family, given Alannah's splotchy at best complexion and "her general uselessness."

Alannah resented her mother for her blatant favoritism toward her brothers, for her unhidden disdain for her only daughter, for her unyielding harshness and lack of compassion, for the thousand little insults and utter neglect she endured for sixteen years under her parents' roof.

Shortly after her sixteenth birthday, there was an unfortunate incident with a sneeze and a blizzard spell that destroyed half the house. Alannah was immediately and unceremoniously banished from the family and kicked out into the world on her own with nothing but the clothes on her back.

She has never repeated the words and accusations her mother screamed at her that day, but they did ring in her ears near two years later when Christaine lay on her death bed with a wasting sickness.

At the time Alannah was a fledgling conjurer, barely into her training with the Senna siblings. She had not yet earned her soul stone, but she had learned enough to cure the disease that ate away at her mother's body.

And after one last conversation between the two of them, which had been deeply uncomfortable and unpleasant and disappointing for Alannah, who had still harbored some shred of hope that her mother loved her in some capacity, she made her decision.

Alannah told no one in her family of the magic she knew and she let her mother die.

Now, ten years later, on her best days she's able to convince herself that she only showed her mother the same care and consideration that was shown to her.

And on her worst days, she feels like a monster.

What's a drama plot you'd like to write?

The one I'm sitting on right now that I really want to put to proverbial paper is Tsuna's arrival to Thavnair for the first time. Going there had always been Tsuna's original goal: to find her father who she thinks abandoned her to the Garleans... but when she fled from Kugane she ended up dirt poor without means to travel, and got caught up with the Scions anyway. The first time the player goes to Thavnair is already pretty silly, so I'd just be adding to it, but the small detour from canon also has the potential for drama if done right. I already have a gpose mapped out for it, but since it needs a lot of context I haven't posted them. It's embarrassing to write it out but I can't put it under a read more. 🙈 Sorry if this sounds stupid outside of my own head. Anyway. It's something like... sometime after helping Matsya they recognize a girl that looks strikingly similar to Tsuna because of her scale pattern, or because Tsuna recognizes the girl's surname, which makes Tsuna storm off knowing her father is alive and living in a village nearby. Estinien and co are just sort of exasperated by her since they have work to do and all (and that she's threatening to beat up an old man). She goes a little feral from 20 years of pent up emotion when she finally sees him, and Estinien tactlessly knocks her out or something. Narratively, I think it would be a good place to reveal Tsuna's past by someone who isn't an unreliable narrator (her father). It would be where the reader (and the scions) would learn her real name, too. 🤷🤷🤷🤷 It has the added bonus of more weight to the events in Palaka's Stand because Tsuna now has attachment and complicated feelings for someone she once wanted dead, but now is afraid for her father's life.

I wish I could think of one that isn't a romance plot, but I'm diseased, so... Saw a tweet today that went like 'where the heroine is held prisoner by the villain who then, with sinister courtesy, sends to her room an evening gown which she is forced to wear for the upcoming tense formal dinner / harrowing gamified ordeal / desperate escape attempt.' and I was frothing in remembering how much I love that trope lmao. Gave me emetwol feels I'm ashamed to say, but specifically @/etheirys' brand which im always /chinhandsing at.

Hali began her adventurer’s journey by leaving Old Sharlayan and soon arriving in Thanalan and reaching Ul’dah, her maternal grandmother’s birthplace and where all of her family on her mother’s side had lived. She didn’t bring many possessions with her, and also didn’t want to attract too much unwanted attention, so she wore casual clothing instead of traditional Astrologian robes for a long time before she felt comfortable with wearing robes again.

Now:

Now Hali is living her best life, since not only has she become a hero who has saved the Star itself from the Final Days, but she is much more confident in herself and wears clothing that she loves no matter what, and is comfortable in her own skin. She has traveled not only to the far corners of the Source, but she’s been to two reflections, the Moon, and to the edge of the universe. And still she yearns to see more!

The first one is a general overview of medieval times in Europe—almost finished reading it tbh, it's an easy read and a good perspective on an usually poorly understood historical era—, the second one is about, well, sea monsters on medieval and renaissance maps, and the last one is about how politicians gain and retain political power, whether in a democracy or a dictatorship. I don't necessarily agree with the completely cynical point of view, but it's interesting nonetheless.

There are so many more that I'm tempted to add more to the list (pretty much all of them about history, sociology, anthropology or political science, including not a small number in French) but for once there are fiction books I wanna read so...

I don't think I really need to introduce the first two XD As for the last one, I'm not sure how to describe the genre in English? We say "cape et d'épée" in French, but basically in Captain Alatriste, you follow the adventures of a Spanish soldier and man of fortune living in the 17th century. It's the second tome out of seven.
