So my Mum took me and my Little Sister to The Barbie Movie(We in-fact just got out), and Sis was wondering:

Why was Allan discontinued?

As far as I know there’s no entertaining story behind Al(l)an being discontinued - sometimes dolls that aren’t as popular simply don’t get new dolls produced of them.

Allan is a tricky one because he was originally introduced of course as “Ken’s buddy” but then in the 1990’s “Alan” (with one L) became Midge’s husband and, eventually, the father of her children in the Happy Family line.

If you’re unsure if this is the same Al(l)an, his most recent appearance was in the Double Date 50th Anniversary Giftset, where he looks like the original striped shirt Allan and was advertised in catalogues as an Allan, but is clearly romantically linked with Midge, as Alan was.

I can’t tell if he was credited on the box itself as Alan or Allan because the most high-res pictures I can find are still not sufficient - at least not on my phone.

In any case, with Allan being in a box set as recently as 2014, we can comfortably say he was discontinued but I don’t think there’s a particular story behind it. The people just don’t need Al(l)an.

So I totally headcanon Alan as Pansexual cause he's definitely the kinda person to just not care about gender.

Like there's a person that wants to be with him, why would he care about what gender they are?

He is the best boyfriend ever

Always asks how your day was before talking about his own

But he's awful at remembering like important dates

All I can think about is that Bob's Burger's scene

"Today's your birthday?"

"The due date was today?"

I put 'The due date' instead of 'your due date' because idk who's birthing the child

But when he does remember dates he is so romantic

He tried to cook dinner for your anniversary, somehow set the table cloth on fire

Dosen't know how he did it

All you know is for your anniversary you ended up ordering your favourite junk food and watching cheesy rom-coms

Alan loves Rom-coms

He's that one dude that likes them more then his partner

Alan gets jealous quite easily

But he isn't angry jealous

More sad jealous

Cause he's an insecure bb

He thinks you're way out of his league

So when he says people flirting with you all he can think about is how much better looking they are or how they're stronger then him

You have assure him that you don't care about that stuff

That you're with him because of how sweet and caring he is

Overall, Alan is just my little babygirl and I love him

Artober Day 10: Allan (Barbie Movie) He's Ken's buddy, all of Ken's clothes fit him! It's impossible to choose a favorite character from the Barbie Movie, but Allan is certainly one of them. I wish the camera had captured it better, but the background behind him actually sparkles! Wow, 10 days in! That's like, a third? Check back tomorrow for another Artober! Allan! He’s Ken’s buddy and all of Ken’s clothes fit him! I saw the movie this weekend and while I went in expecting to be Ken, I left as Allan.

Also, important side note: I am going to be posting less during the month of August. Think like… 1 or 2 posts a week instead of 3 or 4. This is because I am about to go back to uni for my last year, and I am concerned that unless I build up a buffer now, I won’t really have anything to post until the end of the semester. But again, I fully expect to be back to a mostly regular schedule come September!

Obviously inspired by the Barbie movie released last month (I have so many ideas for it and I just love Barbie in general so ) but I made this Barbie dress up game with a doll of myself. I want to add more outfits and accessories so once I do that I’ll post a huge finished project with all the outfits but there’s this for now.
