What is the Yoruba kingship system?
The Yoruba kingship system is a traditional form of government that has been practiced by the Yoruba people of Nigeria for centuries. The Yoruba kingship system is based on a hierarchy of rulers who are responsible for the governance and administration of their respective territories.
At the top of the Yoruba kingship system is the Ooni of Ife, who is considered to be the spiritual leader of the Yoruba people and the custodian of their cultural heritage. Below the Ooni are other kings and rulers, including the Alaafin of Oyo, the Oba of Benin, and the Alake of Egbaland, among others.
Each king or ruler is responsible for the governance of their own territory or city-state, and they are expected to maintain law and order, promote economic prosperity, and uphold the traditions and customs of the Yoruba people. The kings are also responsible for settling disputes and conflicts within their territories and maintaining good relations with neighboring kingdoms.
The Yoruba kingship system is steeped in tradition and culture, and the roles and responsibilities of the kings are deeply respected by the Yoruba people. Despite the influence of modernization and the Nigerian government, the Yoruba kingship system remains an important aspect of Yoruba culture and identity.

Armenia to recognize 3rd August as Day of Commemoration of Yazidi Genocide
Tumblr media
The Armenian Parliament voted this week to designate August 3rd as the official commemoration day for the victims of Yazidi Genocide. The bill submitted by ethnic Yazidi MP Rustam Bakoyan passed the first reading with 88 votes in favor. Armenia will thus become the first country after Iraq to enshrine this into law.
“Genocide is a crime against humanity, and it is the biggest crime. This is a direct result and a direct consequence of incorrect and improper condemnation of the Armenian Genocide in 1915. The destinies of Armenians and Yazidis are quite similar, and our destinies have always crossed paths. We have often found ourselves in the same situations in different stages of history,” Bakoyan said as he presented the bill.
“The Republic of Armenia, adhering to the policy and priority it adopted in the process of prevention and condemnation of genocides, in 2014 condemned the genocide of Yazidis in Iraq from the high podium of the United Nations. In 2015, the Yazidi genocide in Iraq was condemned by the Armenian National Assembly factions, and in 2018 by the National Assembly,” the MP said.
“The prevention of genocide and crimes against humanity is one of the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy,” Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan said, adding that Armenia actively supports the measures aimed at the prevention and condemnation of the mentioned crimes, the processes of further development of tools and mechanisms for the prevention of genocides and other mass crimes, both on bilateral and multilateral cooperation platforms.

With no other information to go on since I haven't read Animorphs your character archetype seems like it's characters who's name contains some form of the Lake sound. Very on brand with your URL. Lake InfinityTrain, ALake Vasil, BLake Thorburn
i like how out there this one is. most accurate external attempt at determining tumblr user lakesbian's favorite character archetypes

One of my favorite pieces to this day is my Darkblade piece. Mostly its sentimental value as there is a lot of hidden story behind this piece.
Tumblr media
Originally this was going to be a piece that showed Narec and Alak Hul fighting, based on one of the D&D sessions i was in. I ended up scrapping Narec's part in it after some drama, ended up just making it on the Darkblade in the Forest during Festival of the Lost. I ended up hardcore working on it for the event and had friends rooting for me at the time to get it done(just in time for the event).
I had semi hoped maybe Bungie would see it and like it enough to feature it, but I never counted on it. I was actually like sure they wouldn't pick it XD lmao, so like 4 days in when they said they were showing artwork I was shocked when all my notifications started blowing up and people started letting me know Bungie retweeted my piece. I had a small reply even from DMG04 asking for my Bungie tag and he got my emblem for me right away and was so happy when I was crying and posting my character with it on.
For me, this piece was yes about my love for FOTL, but also just the battle of working past the memories and pain of how the campaign ended for Narec, finishing in some way a piece tied to that, and then all the support I had, the fact that people loved it so much and were so happy for me.
For me, its the whole package of memories that makes not only that emblem special, but also this drawing.
And who knows, maybe one day I will do the original drawing I had wanted lol (i say that knowing my backlog of things will never let me lmao)
