Not really scared, just unsure! When all you've ever known is a person being 1 way and get yeeted into a different place where their acutally nice. Its a little bit of weariness just by association. Granted both the times he defeated megs he nearly got killed and lost a team mate, so he's just like "its hard to imagine you any other way. But I see that's not the case." Very much apologizes for his hesitation!

Megatron would be impressed Optimus would be too. Like when Prome explains how big his cons are its like "YOURE INCREDIBLE ,,, WTF?"

I can just see tfa Finials flatten in bit ofa blush and explaining its not just him but alos his team. Megatron would just shake his helm with smile.

Give TFA confidence and reassurance that he is doing a good job. Not that he ever needed it , but to hear it is very nice. Since in tfa the Functionalists are still in charge (looking at you tfa magnus) To hear that he is more than is alt mode and fiction somthing that these two had to go though, means alot to TFA.

I think ES mega and Optimus would love to elanr things from TFA , amaizng opportunity. I just love the idea of telling his he is doing good. After loosing prowl when trying to beat megs its alot of weight I'd imagine. He won but at what cost ?

Polyamory. lol I'm working on an original fic about an accidental triad, and while I'm familiar with polyamory from an outside perspective (many friends in the community), I've never been poly myself, so I want to make sure I give a fair representation. I've read so much, and I'm obsessed with a couple podcasts. Among my poly friends, there are now 2 camps: 1) OMG, this is so exciting! What do you want to know? I could talk about this all day! I'm coming over and cooking Sat, and we can talk about this for 22 hours, and 2) Bruh, I love you, but STFU, I don't want to talk about this anymore. lol (Luckily, more fall into the first than the second lol). One of my best friends (is poly) is convinced I'm joining them once I'm done here - IDK about that - but I am literally fascinated. BTW, even if you are 100% not poly, I think reading/learning more is a great idea because you'll learn so much about communication/boundaries and things that can help any relationship - including your most important relationship, the one with yourself.

Oh, there are so many, but the thing is, they're really not funny to anyone outside the group (which is why it's an inside joke lol) and I'm not about to share! lol

But me and 2 of my friends had something happen at a Pride parade many years ago, and it involved sunglasses. Now, whenever any of us say "Sunglasses," it means we get a free pass for whatever we're about to say next because we ALL know the sunglasses incident, and it binds us to life (and we can blackmail each other forever!) lol So it goes like this:

"Hey... I gotta tell you something."

"OK?"

"And this goes in the Sunglasses file."

The best thing about it, whenver we say it, we all laugh because it brings back the memory. :)

Now see this could be tricky, because generally if I don't get some key elements written down very quickly the idea flows away again and the 'yet' disappears, even if I remember generally what it was about, but I have one this time! I am still just enough plagued by this vision that it's not out of the question I'll go for the capture, but so far nada.

Idea was basically a Jiang family character study by way of modern au. (So tw canonical abuse.) I started from the reflection, in a modern au very high chance the Jiangs are divorced, because being a divorcee wouldn't necessarily ruin Yu Ziyuan in the modern world, as long as she was allowed to control the narrative enough that she didn’t look at fault, so it might be on the table.

Especially because modern views on child abuse are such that while she'd hold back more than she already does in terms of physical chastisement, Jiang Fengmian would also be under less societal pressure to not interfere in her disciplinary system too much, and both these factors mean he’s more likely to put his foot down.

So, concept: Jiang Fengmian, when his son is eight and his daughter thirteen, forces the issue of taking in his best friends' abused orphan child whom he’s just managed to track down in a nightmarish group home, probably leveraging the fact that wherever their money comes from it's mostly his, something he usually doesn't do, but she has always known he could, and been fucked up about it (reasonable) and hated him a little (less so) and hates him so much more now (understandable but still fucked up).

They were obviously still both pressured into this marriage by their families, because I literally cannot imagine them choosing one another of their own free will, and if they did that would be an au in an even more dramatic way than being modern, and no longer work as a character or relationship study as far as I'm concerned. I mean or it’s a cql-based au, but that’s not the version of this toxic marriage I find compelling.

Situation subsequently deteriorates to the point that when the boys are around twelve some outside party observes and is repulsed or otherwise upset by Yu Ziyuan's treatment of Wei Wuxian specifically--she's emotionally abusive to everyone in the family, canonically, and it harms Jiang Cheng significantly more than Wei Wuxian, which I think is also pretty explicit on the page, but she's more openly antagonistic about going after wwx because he's basically a proxy for her husband, whom she doesn't consider to be someone she's capable of harming.

And ofc in a modern family scenario, being abusive to your foster kid is more plainly personal misconduct than being unfair in how you discipline one of your husband's many students, even if it is his favorite. Which means she's very unlikely to chase him around with a whip, but whatever she does do will sting that much more emotionally.

Anyway the outside judgement provokes a more explicit confrontation than the last four years of maneuver and attempting to balance all the competing needs according to two very different standards. And the upshot is that by the time wwx is 13, the Jiangs are divorced. To avoid making a humiliating spectacle of themselves they present a weirdly united front in court and have a very smooth uncontested proceding, although the closed meetings with their respective lawyers involved a lot of vitriol.

Yu Ziyuan, despite having a smallish trust fund and probably a job of some kind, though one that's more prestigious than profitable like uh. Olympic fencing coach. Idk what they make but it's probably not enormous. She and Cangse Sanren probably competed in the same events back in the day.

Anyway she gets a solid chunk of alimony, the house, and primary custody of both her children, although Jiang Yanli is almost 18 at this point so mostly she just gets Jiang Cheng. Everyone thinks Jiang Cheng wants it that way, including sort of Jiang Cheng; he has this idea that if he has his mom to himself they'll finally have a good relationship, even though he's also terrified of being left all alone with her. He's complicated. Families are complicated.

Also she would never have forgiven him if he hadn't concurred that he wanted to stay with his mother because she was the only one On His Side.

Jiang Yanli ofc does not move out right away when she comes of age, in part because her brother needs her, but she probably does go to college, so she's only around part-time.

Jiang Fengmian, meanwhile, keeps most of his financial assets and Wei Wuxian, and gets his kids on the weekends.

So that's all setup for how you have this situation where Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng are entering high school--probably the same school, together, but no longer sharing the commute except maybe Monday mornings--and Wei Wuxian's primary residence is Jiang Cheng's dad's apartment.

It’s really chill. They get a cleaning service in once a week and eat a lot of delivery food, but they do cook at least once a week. The canonical thing where they largely agree about what’s funny and what’s right-or-wrong, and so forth, on the one hand really pops when there’s mostly no external conflict disrupting it, but also probably gains more complexity now that it’s not a thread of positivity fighting for its life against a background of drama. They get to know each other better than they ever had a chance to in canon.

Some of that isn't all that positive, because now they have the space to discover the places where they do actually have the capacity for friction, but both of them are very good at dispersing tension (I do tend to suspect jfm's dad was abusive he sure acts like it), and on the whole it's a good thing.

Jiang Cheng is going to have such a mental health crisis, and Jiang Fengmian is going to handle it so badly. Because of course when his son starts replicating his ex-wife's toxic attitudes and behaviors more now that she has primary custody, he’s going to feel guilty and like it’s His Fault, but he’s going to feel like it’s his fault that Jiang Cheng is growing up to be a shitty abusive person.

And even if he’d never say that the subtext would come through, in the assumptions he made when framing communications and so forth, as in canon, so the thing where Jiang Cheng’s father loves Wei Wuxian more than him, or at any rate likes him better and thinks he’s a better person and prefers his company, would wind up feeding into a self-reinforcing loop.

(Jin Zixuan's nasty public remark about Jiang Fengmian treating Wei Wuxian better than his own children hits Jiang Cheng significantly harder in this scenario, where he's being Tormented by the feeling that all his peers know his dad walked out on him for another son. Wei Wuxian's punch is therefore even more clearly primarily for Jiang Cheng's sake, although Jiang Cheng is probably more inclined to see it as being for his dad's. Jin Zixuan is about halfway between the Jiang kids' ages here, so he's a senior saying this shit to a sophomore.)

So that cycle builds to the point where Jiang Cheng would eventually have one of those rare moments where he resorts to actual violence, because his poisoned feelings are choking him so bad his rationality deserts him.

He’s not going to be nearly as close to actually murdering Wei Wuxian as he was in canon the night the Jiang Sect was massacred, because it’s a less extreme situation, but he still goes for the neck. So Jiang Fengmian is in his home office one Saturday about a year and a half into this new normal, and realizes the boys are fighting. He hears through the wall the accusation you stole my dad. He says to himself, well that’s terrible but interjecting myself into this situation would definitely make it worse.

Then he hears sounds of violence, and then an ominous abrupt silence, and updates that analysis.

And when he opens the door to the boys’ room, Wei Wuxian is being strangled. He’s not really resisting, which is because he’s made the call that that’s way more likely to get Jiang Cheng to snap out of it, and thinks it might make Jiang Cheng feel better to get it out of his system (because he does sort of feel like what Jiang Cheng is going through is all his fault, or at any rate is much worse as a result of decisions made for his sake) and is severely underestimating the dangers of choking, but looks to a third party like he’s already passed out and Jiang Cheng is still at it. Which is to say, it looks like a serious murder attempt on the brink of success.

So that sure made that situation worse!

So yeah that's my idea that I probably won't write but it sure has its teeth in me.

Okay okay, Riddler x Riddler is peak, yes. BUT, what about the Riddlers that HATE eachother?😈

So there's a funny Venn Diagram that happens there because I do genuinely think Arkham Knight and Zero Year HATEEE each other ghjksdg twt oomf worded it best;

I also think a good deal of them would dislike 22. I think his "type" of intelligence wouldn't be very valued by them, they might even see it as a sort of savant parlor trick. He's good with numbers, so what? Most of these other Riddlers are building machines, MECH SUITS, I feel like to most of them, because he comes from a universe much more grounded in reality, they wouldn't really *get* that? They'd see his work as extremely mild compared to what they can do, because most of their universes allow for more extravagance.

I think some of the MOST tension would come from Arkham Knight, Hush!Riddler, Zero Year, and other *especially* megalomaniacal Riddlers attempting to control the rest of them, but the others obviously not going for it. I think ones like BTAS and Telltale would see the blood in the water and opt out of any overt argument, choosing to watch how everyone plays the game, and see where they can fit in the most opportunity for themselves.

as of the most recent chapter of LTL how long have javi and cielito been dating?

Before I tell you, let’s take a second to think about all they’ve been through, and their journey so far.

Okay, so, they met in the grocery store on June 9th, 1998.

Their third date and Javier asking her to be his girlfriend happened two days later on June 11th.

He introduced her to Chucho, Daphne, and Velma on June 26th.

July 17th is when they go out clubbing and she hears Javi whisper he loves her in Spanish.

Their first fight and Javier confessing his love happens on July 20th—he moves in the next day.

On August 3rd, Javi starts his new job with the Sheriff and Cielito meets more of his family.

The 🍑 chapter occurs on August 4th.

That asshole Stechner shows up on November 10th and the following day Javi gets the engagement ring from his dad.

They go to Miami on December 10th and get engaged on December 11th.

Javi’s birthday and the confrontation with Lorraine happens on December 13th.

On January 4th, 1999, Javi finally gets to meet Cielito’s parents and is bribed.

Their bachelor/bachelorette parties/Cielito breaking down is on January 8th.

And finally, we make it to where we are in the story on their wedding day, which is January 11th.

They’ve been officially dating exactly 7 months.

I’ll also add that at my old job I had a coworker whose first date with her now-husband was a road trip to a neighboring state that lasted 3 days. She called out sick from work two of those days. The trip was supposed to only take one day. They got married 3 months later and have been together for years.

but i wanted to know your take on how you think both reader and ak!jason would react to jason having a nightmare? the pt2 to the ak!jason fic ended with them sleeping side by side and i was just wondering like what you think would happen if jason has a nightmare while sleeping beside reader. would he be embarrassed or angry, and try to lash out, or would he be cold and nonchalant and pretend he's fine? idk its just a thought thats been floating around in my head recently!!

i am so glad you asked. plz never apologize, your asks are always welcome, awkward or not. jason has nightmares frequently, as mentioned in part 2:

He’s insisted on having you stay with him, but sharing a bed is a luxury you’ve been without, being forced to sleep on the couch every night instead. It’s surprisingly comfy, but good rest is still hard to come by, given the frequent, violent nightmares that plague your boyfriend’s mind and make him cry out in his sleep.

so it wouldn't be a first time for reader. but this is the first time her and jason are actually sleeping in the same bed since they've been reunited, so it's a good question to ask.

i imagine that the first few times she woke up from his night terrors, reader tried to comfort him and offer support, but jason lashed out at her, similar to how he did after the scene in the bathroom after she patched him up. so reader got used to just leaving him be, not bothering to get off the couch. it hurts her though, knowing that he's suffering and she can't help.

but now that he's allowed reader this new level of intimacy, would reader feel bold enough to try and comfort him again? lets say for the sake of your question, yes.

and my answer is it depends on what the nightmare is about. if it's a vivid nightmare [as described above] reliving a traumatic memory of his torture, jason would most likely be more worked up/fearful and therefore take a bit longer to calm down once he wakes up. he'd probably be embarrassed, as as soon as he's regulated his breathing and become aware of where he's really at, he'd shrug reader's loving touch away and be standoffish. it's just something he isn't ready to talk about and he scared to be so vulnerable around her.

if it was a less violent/vivid nightmare, where he wakes with a start but isn't hyperventilating or panicking, i think he would deny it and tell reader to go back to sleep even though reader can obviously tell he was in anguish. i don't think, at this point, he would allow himself to accept reader's comfort, but he's let his guard down enough that he wouldn't like get violent or yell at her for trying to help unless she pushed him.

i dunno. i feel like it could really depend on the day. i'm portraying jason's emotions as especially tumultuous, so any of your suggestions could be a fair guess too! he keeps reader on her toes, fr.

I don’t know why people started shipping them either, but it’s mostly in the times post botl and pre tlo, and a lot of times it’s used to amp up the percabeth angst. I don’t mind connabeth and I think sometimes it can be written very good(one sided, first crush, things like that). I don’t ship it but I don’t dislike it enough for it to be a dealbreaker in a fic.

In general, my favourite bugs are beetles! :) specifically though the giant flower beetle is my fave cuz i mean ohhhhh look at them

commonly kept as pets and bred for colour variation!! these guys are my fave and i have an (to be complete) painting of em in my room :p i'd love to own some one day!!

honourable mentions though bc having 1 favourite is simply too hard in a world so vast!!

Its been a while since i sunk into thinking about my fave tarantulas, and so ive forgotten the names of most of these species. but i put my faves on the futch scale:
