About Geode: (by @oddogoblino) In an attempt to impress The Eggman, a mad yet inexperienced scientist stole Gerald Robotnik's blueprints of Project SHADOW and tried to improve on it to make the definitive true ultimate lifeform to defeat Sonic once and for all. To add insult to injury, the eggsupporter had chosen to use some of Sonic's DNA along with Shadow's, that'd been found from battle aftermaths, to make his creation. Before their prototype was even finished though, GUN had found out about Project REMASTERED. Rouge told Shadow about it before GUN could do a raid though so he could handle this personal matter how he found fit. Well, Shadow went and destroyed the lab of course, though he wasn't prepared to see just how early in development the project was. He was expecting something full grown but all he found was the prototype barely in the infant phase in its development. Being unable to just kill a baby or adopt this all powerful baby off to an unsuspecting family (and also being unknowingly motivated by Black Arms instincts to keep the species alive), Shadow decided to take the little hoglet in as his own. At first, Shadow was too caught up in caring for Geode off instinct to think about telling anyone about him, but just a few months in and Geode already began showing his defects in creation and Shadow turned to Sonic and Tails for help. Now, Geode has inhibitor rings to keep his chaos energy at a stable level and has been growing up comfortably from home to home, adventure to adventure. Geode himself though, by the time he's 16, is a very quiet, introverted, affectionate, emotional, compassionate, and sort of awkward character. He's not good at social but he cares about others and is very forgiving when hes wronged and has decent emotional intelligence. He's a "be mindful of how you use the water if the cup's half empty" kinda thinker. He's very curious on just about anything new he discovers. Others can think of him as being a bit simple minded sometimes though. People tend to overwhelm him easily so he finds most comfort in spending time with Chao. If he's not on a mission, he's a bit of a clumsy puppy of a guy. But, if Shadow puts 2 thoughts into something and Sonic puts none, then Geode only puts 1 thought into everything he does. He's a pacifist who can't bring himself to hurt living beings, he can fight nonsentient robots just fine but otherwise he prefers to trap any living enemies in whatever he can get his hands on. He's a stealth type and has a habit of stealing artifacts and other magical things he deems too powerful to let be taken even by his dads. He can see chaos auras 24/7 to a heightened sense, being able to see the chaos energy even in plants along with being able to see the chaos energy left behind from those deceased (aka, ghosts). He's faster than Sonic but he's weaker than Shadow. He loves the world around him very dearly, having Sonic's passion for life/the world and Shadow's determination to fight for himself. Geode also has picked up mechanics as a small hobby though he's not very passionate about it.

About Brutus: (by @susahnasomething) A genetically enhanced clone of Shadow (mixed with Sonic's DNA) Brutus was made and raised by Eclipse the Darkling, who hoped to bring back the black arms by making a bunch of super powerful clones. This was not good for her. Eventually the heroes defeated Eclipse, and Shadow rescued her (not her clone siblings sadly, cause SOMEONE DECIDED THAT THERE SHALL ONLY BE ONE) and was then raised by sonadow. Brutus is a dark and conceited girl, reminding everyone of past shadow. Who firmly believes she cannot be killed nor destroyed, so she tends to throw herself into danger. (shes the ultimate lifeform nothing can hurt her!!) . . . totally!

Mean Girls VS. Wednesday AKA Enid Sinclair = Gretchen Wieners

-Gretchen is ALWAYS on Regina's left just like Wednesday told Enid to be on her left in one scene.

-Wednesday uses Enid as a source of info for her investigations (concerning Xavier, Bianca) just like Cady with getting info about Regina's private life.

-Gretchen attempting to turn the radio off with force ends up hitting Jason in the face comparable to when Enid and Ajax are making out & she almost scratches him with her claws.

-Gretchen & Enid both have anger issues with Gretchen losing it over Regina's constant rejections and Enid destroying a school bus when Ajax fails to show for their date. Definitely potential foreshadowing for a falling out between Enid & Wednesday too.

-"The meaner Regina was to her, the more Gretchen tried to win her back." Sounds similar to when Enid & Wednesday had their argument & the aftermath with Enid visiting their room 3 times in 24 hours.

-Gretchen lacks an identity all film. In her last scene, she's in another group but still trying to figure out her place just like with Enid in between the normals and the Werewolves.

Did anyone see how there is a paw print in the same shot as Gretchen that says "lion pride" 👀...

Defining Amy as a "rapist" for mentally altering Victoria non-consensually and then altering her body non-consensually seems extreme. That would mean Rachel "rapes" her dogs. That Victoria herself is a "rapist" when she uses her aura. I think what Amy did is extremely wrong and unforgivable, but calling her a "rapist" is incorrect. And the reading of her as being othered by her nuclear family is a pretty valid reading of her character. It also doesn't excuse what she did, but it does explain it and make her a more sympathetic character. Which is basically what Worm is all about - making "villains" sympathetic. Sure, you can decide that still doesn't make you feel sympathy for her but it doesn't make a person "immoral" if they do. Also, pointing out how she feels like a bad lesbian stereotype doesn't actually place any judgement on her actions or the actions of her victim - just on the writer and text itself.

There's a lot wrong with this Ask, but I choose to believe you are simply forgetting key details and misremembering others, so I will explain why this post is unfortunately incorrect.

Firstly, best to not start off with, "I think what X character did was bad but-" and then follow up with downplaying what the character did, because it sets the tone that you don't actually think what character did was bad. It's a common phrasing used by a lot of rape apologists, nazi dog-whistling, anti-lgtbq+ posts etc etc. Not just in fiction, but RL discussion.

(Spoilers below for Ward and Late-Worm)

Secondly, you quite literally admitted that Amy non-consensually violated Victoria's body, multiple times. She not only made Victoria fall in love with her, not only paralyzed Victoria to operate on her without consent, not only mind-controlled Victoria to use as a puppet, not only kidnapped her (twice), not only kept her as a play toy for 3-4 days...

But she admits to Carol, outright, that she saw Victoria "just lying there" and decided to "use her" for "closure" (aka pleasure), on and off for days, and then fucked with Victoria's memories so Victoria would not remember the details of what Amy did to her (raping her). Which we see of in more detail in Ward, as another mental power unlocked those memories in Victoria's mind.

Note that this was after Amy had already healed Victoria via the fucked-up sarcophagus (that Amy modeled after Victoria's body). Amy just couldn't resist Victoria's unconscious (and probably nude from the acid destroying the costume) body.

Amy raped Victoria several times in Worm, not just in power, but in every way possible. And then she molests Victoria again in Ward by making her love Amy and by kissing her while she's unconscious (and basically psychologically abuses her in arc 14). She also preys on a 14 year old child because she happens to somewhat look like Victoria, both in the hopes of manipulating Victoria to visit said girl (and be forced to thank Amy for "helping" her) and possibly even planning on grooming her into a surrogate Victoria figure.

Amy is rapist. End of discussion.

Thirdly, your use of Bitch's power as a comparison is flawed but still interesting to discuss. For one thing, we know from Brutus interlude that this transformation is not sexual in nature nor does it mentally assault the dog's mind; Brutus compares it to the good feeling of stretching in his limbs, like dogs do all the time. There is nothing said about this power altering their minds.

That being said, what Bitch does with her dogs can indeed be argued to be catalogued as abuse; there has been many a discussion where readers have pointed out that Bitch putting her dogs into these dangerous situations, attacking and crippling people, means that it is more likely for these dogs to be hurt or killed in them defending themselves. Armsmaster outright calls Bitch out on this, funny enough, telling her he doesn't want to keep hurting dogs for their owner's mistakes. One can even argue it's meant to be a dark irony that Bitch spends so much time busting up dog-fighting rings, yet she also constantly puts her dogs in danger.

Fourthly, Victoria's aura: A.) can be resisted just by being stubborn as we see with several characters like Lisa, B.) the idea that she is constantly blasting people with aura is pure fanon, with what we see in Worm and Ward being that she uses it for fights 99% of the time, and C.) the story actively points out that she has to be careful with aura use, and characters in story openly discuss when and when not to use it, or discuss with her how they feel she misused it. To which she often acknowledges them to be correct, tries to adjust herself to do better (with or without success depending on the situation).

It is in fact quite notable that Taylor - when comparing character powers to Heartbreaker (possibly the most well-known rapist in the world) - she compares Regent, Amy, and Gallant. Despite the fact that Taylor never met Gallant and has actively fought Glory Girl, Victoria never once enters her mind as a comparison. Because GG's power is not mind-control or even seen as mind-alteration in the setting; it's treated by those who feel it and fight it as a small obstacle to deal with, rather than anything that feels invasive or sexually exploitative.

That is not to say that they treat her aura use lightly, of course. The two most notable moments are the BBQ and Hard Boil aura use, where the aura is treated as a quite literal symbol of Victoria's PTSD: both times the person (Carol and Hanzo) are actively engaging in behavior that triggers Victoria's trauma (Carol lied to Victoria about Amy being around and make's Victoria paranoid about her being compromised by Amy; Hamza actively victim blames Victoria for not only the death of her boyfriend but also graphically detailing what Amy's molestations of Victoria did to her on live television).

(I also just remembered that Snag forcing Victoria to relive being in the Asylum as the Wretch caused Victoria to go into a screaming PTSD episode that had her blaring the aura as a defense mechanism)

In both these cases, the aura use is treated not as an attempt from Victoria as a means of violating a person's consent for her own pleasure, domination, or objectification of said individual, but rather as a defense mechanism she uses to try and regain mental/emotional footing as her PTSD episode briefly takes control of her actions (we also see this occur with the forcefield re: Valefor, but it occurs far less often). Even then, Carol is actively shocked that Victoria would use her aura like that (implying that Victoria doing so was a surprising faux pau AND also showcasing just how badly Carol fucked up), and Hamza and company are equally upset that Victoria would use her power on them (though Capricorn was quick to point out that this only happened because they triggered her PTSD and the crowd seemed split on blame). Sveta also point blank tells Victoria to not use the aura around her unless it's for emergencies, as it hurts her own power use/body autonomy (which Victoria does respect). In any case, comparing Victoria's aura to Amy is flawed in multiple ways: Victoria never used her power as a means of sexual exploitation, objectifying an individual for her own pleasure, nor as a means to mutilate/molest/aid in the rape of another human being.

Amy actively views and uses her power as a means of violating body autonomy as a means of gaining sexual pleasure, objectifying an individual for her own pleasure, and as a means to mutilate/molest/aid in the rape of another human being, and has done so multiple times throughout the franchise. Even when characters actively tell her that they do not consent to being touch or Amy invading their biology to discuss their sexual/mental health (see; Yamada), Amy instead views it as a means of gaining power over an individual for her own use.

Obviously, enjoying a character who is Evil does not make the reader evil by proxy. I doubt most Darth Vader fans really want to murder elementary school children or strangle pregnant women (though some people do get upset when you point out the Empire is a Fascist Regime, but that's a separate discussion).

Likewise, Amy being one's favorite character does not mean a reader must be a rapist themselves. I myself quite enjoy Amy as a character and have recommended one of the best Amy centric fanfics before (Wound by SprialHelix) on this site.

But there is a difference between liking a character and white-washing them to the point that it becomes victim blaming.

Finally: I have never once voiced an opinion on the "nuclear family" discussion.

The closest I ever came to that discussion was mocking some user for trying to defend Incest as being cool and claiming that Incest Supporters are being targeted unfairly and compared them to the LGTBQ+ defenders.

Which, I must say, is fucking insulting to compare the struggles of the LGTBQ+ to those who want to fuck their children/siblings/parents/cousins etc etc

I hope this clarification helps you understand the point I stand in regard to reminding people that Amy Dallon is a rapist, and how dangerous it can be to fall for those who wish to white-wash her actions in favor of demonizing her rape victim, rather than accept her characters as the actual character she is.

1. Porcia (CATonis)

I think that a lot of Roman names work great for cats. I went with Porcia because of how universal it is. Are you interested in Roman history? Or just happen to be really into Shakespeare? Porcia CATonis has got you covered!

2. Éléonore (Duplay)

okay, hear me out here. Calling a cat Éléonore may be a bit awkward, but you could call her Leo for short!

3. Marcus (Brutus/Agrippa/Antony...)

Not to insist on gendering cats' names, but if you want to go for a more traditionally male name, I think Marcus is a good option!

Plus, it can refer to Marcus Junius Brutus, Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa or even Mark Antony (who's by the way incredibly cat-coded, if you ask me!). The list goes on of course, since it seems that you could either be called Gaius or Marcus and that was mostly it.

4. Maximilien (Robespierre)

I know Robespierre was more of a dog person, but Maximilien is just objectively a good name for a cat. You could even go for Meow-ximilien, if you want to be really extra with it. It could potentially lead to some exhausting conversations though.

5. Émilie (du Châtelet)

Look, you probably knew this was coming. A nice sounding name? Check. Feline qualities? Check. What more could you want from a cat name?

Brutus 2019/3/15, Fuuko Noda's essay

Part 1.

Before I started working on Yuri!!! on ICE, I only watched figure skating on TV once in a while. The Director, Yamamoto Sayo, and Kubo Mitsurou-sensei are huge fans of figure skating, so I was learning from them about it, at the same time as we were creating this show.

'In the matter of figure skating, I'm not willing to accept any compromises' - this strong deterioration of Yamamoto Director led us to work with many people, who are professionally involved in figure skating. And because of this, we couldn't make something that's only half-baked. We asked figure skating choreographer, Miyamoto Kenji-sensei to choose music and choreography for every skater, and record it. Based on that footage, we created the animation.

Recording this kind of footage before anime production, as well as asking Chacott, a maker of ballet and dance supplies, to design costumes for every skater, are both something that we have tried for the first time. We had to place a lot of very special orders that were specific for Yuri!!!, and this was very though work, but at the same time, I've learned a lot through it.

After recording of choreography was finished, we started working on the animation, using that footage as a reference. It turned out that it's impossible to properly express what we wanted to express, if we don't have the knowledge of very fine details of figure skating, such as if the edge of take off for every type of jump is the inside or the outside edge, or were the weight of the body is placed. Animators were studying the reference footage and footage of real-life figure skating competitions, in order to find the right way to express everything in animation.

In addition, to make the anime a little bit closer to the feel of watching a real-life figure skating competition, we asked ex-figure skaters for help. Yokoya Hanae-san was our technical supervisor, Oda Nobunari, Honda Takeshi and Stephane Lambiel appeared in the story as themselves. The power of these Legends is one factor that makes this show so charming.

[Notes: A short essay by MAPPA's (now ex-) producer, Fuuko Noda. Very interesting, because Brutus is a life style magazine, that normally doesn't touch anime, so you can see how Yuri!!! was advertised to non-anime fans (aka how they wanted people to see Yuri!!!). In which I share the best parts of my notebook where I went through the whole text of Hamlet, line by line

3.2.1-2 "as I pronounced it to you, trippingly on the tongue" - dance with the words and make them your own

3.2.4-6 for in the very torrent, tempest, and, as I may say, the whirlwind of passion, you must acquire and beget a temperance that may give it smoothness. Hamlet wants to be subtle so he tells the Players to do the same (but his plan fails at the subtlety thing, whoops!)

3.2.9-10 "to split the ears of the groundlings, who for the most part are capable of nothing but inexplicable dumb-shows and noise" - here, Shakespeare makes fun of bad actors current Will: I mean in this exact line he's making fun of the audience members, but yes, hamlet spends most of the beginning of this scene making fun of bad actors, that's the literal point. silly past me

3.2.43-64 AKA HAMLET/HORATIO!!! lol, gotta love my enthusiasm here 💚

3.2.49 "Why should the poor be flattered?" - sounds like an insult, but he means it to show that he's sincere - Horatio and his family honor! current Will: honestly, rereading this whole little speech with "that no revenue hast but thy good spirits," and "let the candied tongue lick absurd pomp" Hamlet just seems really rude to everyone and it's so funny that i took this as totally sincere and nice. also i have no clue why i wrote about Horatio's family honor - did i have him briefly confused with Laertes??

3.2.53 "Since my dear soul was mistress of her choice" - SO MUCH SUBTEXT; he couldn't choose to keep his father alive but he could choose in this, and it is Horatio he chose

3.2.62-64 "and I will wear him in my heart's core, ay in my heart of heart, as I do thee" - COULD IT BE ANY MORE CANON?!

3.2.78-9 "If a steal aught the whilst this play is playing, and scape detecting, I will pay the theft" nooo! Horatio, you don't have to take on everyone's burden for yourself! Though that's what he's always done; by the end of it all he's the only one who doesn't pay - with his life, at least, but what he ended up with may be the worst deal, because he can't not-be current Will: it's good to see that i've always had that thought about this line and how he ends up paying for it

3.2.82-120 Hamlet's a punny guy, but cruel

3.2.93 "It was a brute part of him to kill so capital a calf there" - play on Brutus and Capitol; but also a calf is an innocent creature that gets sacrificed, like Polonius treats Ophelia, or Polonius himself ending up dead because of Hamlet

3.2.103-105 country matters=cunt, nothing=vagina, Hamlet=DICK current Will: i'm the funniest person in the world, omg

3.2.125-7 OPHELIA: Will he tell us what this show meant? HAMLET: Ay, or any show that you'll show him: be not you ashamed to show, he'll not shame to tell you what it means. so Stoppard wasn't just making it up! [the Players exhibitionism]

Or he's really hurt by her returning the favors. Or he's really talking about Gertrude. Or he's only pretending to be cruel to fit in with perception of him as mad. current Will: these were some really interesting thoughts, but I think now that there's no such thing as "pretending" to be cruel. If you're hurting someone it doesn't matter if you actually mean the things you're saying because they're not in on the joke, so you just are cruel.

3.2.165-6 "A second time I kill my husband dead / When second husband kisses me in bed" - Hamlet says pretty much the same thing in the closet scene

3.2.269-70 "vouchsafe me a word with you" - Guil wants assurance of something, even if it's not his purpose or identity "Sir, a whole history." - Hamlet is so happy his plan worked that he's not even angry at Guil anymore and now they can be friends 3.2.279 "put your discourse into some frame and start not so wildly from my affair" - Guildenstern just wants a frame of reference :( current Will: clearly I was pulling from the tom stoppard characterization of Guil groping for meaning in the dark (and a lot of the notes coming up are just line notes for my ideal staging) but I think it's very interesting that I thought Hamlet was being friendly, because I usually see him play it absolutely disrespectfully

3.2.293-95 "Therefore no more, but to the matter, my mother you say" When he was talking to Guil he had friendly banter, but now he's all business - he knows the best way to hurt each of them "Then thus she says" - Rosencrantz hesitates a bit before he answers because he doesn't understand Hamlet's brusqueness

3.2.303 "My lord, you once did love me" - R is so sad in this scene! He pauses after the first few words in case Hamlet wants to fill the silence, then stumbles forward. Emphasis on "once" like he's waiting for a present tense, and then the end is almost a question

3.2.304 "So I do still, by these pickers and stealers" - maybe grabs his hands and clasps them in a cruel parody of friendship, or kisses him hard and cruel and carnal current Will: wow, I was just determined to give Rosencrantz the worst time, wasn't I? this is tragic and I was correct

3.2.306-7 "You do surely bar the door upon your own liberty if you deny your griefs to your friends" Ros remembers what he said about Denmark being a prison and thinks he's helping. Also, he's coming around to Hamlet's point of view because this trip has been awful

3.2.327-8 "But these cannot I command to any utterance of harmony. I have not the skill" - Hamlet should have asked Rosencrantz because he would either know already, or figure it out intuitively

3.2.330 "you would pluck out the heart of my mystery" - he is a mystery to them and has a heart of parts current Will: i really wish I knew what i meant by that last phrase but it sounds cool and poetic!

3.2.339-344 camel - carries burdens for other people; weasel - duplicity and spying and lying; backed - supported or just partially weasel-like (somewhat sincere in whatever they're pretending to be); whale - big and blundering and in the ocean, but not on a boat, so it's free to go where it pleases :)

3.2.351 "Now could I drink hot blood" - Okay, Hamlet, slow down! Bloody revenge is one thing and reveling in it is quite another

3.2.354-5 "Let not ever the soul of Nero enter this firm bosom" he doesn't actually want to kill his mother, but doesn't want her to know this yet

Cacsmy Brutus aka Mama Cax was a American-Haitian model and disability rights activist. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and ostersarcoma when she was 14, the doctor gave her 3 weeks to live. She later lose her leg due to a hip replacement that failed. She earned her bachelor and master degrees in international relations. Some of her most iconic model gigs includes of 2016 fashion show at the White House hosted by Barack and Michelle Obama. Along with Fenty Beauty, Chromat, Tommy Hilfiger, Sephora along with her first commercial with JAG models in New York, which she was later signed too.

She walked at New York Fashion Week in 2018, parading in a swimsuit designed by Becca McCharen. That year, she made the cover of Teen Vogue with Jillian Mercado and Chelsea Werner.In 2019, Cax became the face of the Olay brand for their sunscreen marketing campaign. In October 2019, Cax announced she would be participating in the New York Marathon in a wheelchair. She would later pass on December 16, 2019 from severe abdominal pains and blood clots of the lungs.

Ana Clemente Medeiros

(Ana means "grace"; Clemente means "mercy, forgiving")

- Middle child

- As the eldest daughter she got her mother's middle name as her last name.

- She was supposed to continue work in the family business (moreso the business of her mother as a Tailor) but she met a tourist to the island, Julius Blackburn, and fell for him and decided to move back to Čəbidac (Cha-bee-dahts) [aka the Poke-PNW] with him.

- Last time my Pa spoke with her she did have a Banette as a partner pokemon.

- She doesn't really keep much contact with the rest of her family really as, my pa suspects, she feels that it would just cause trouble if she did.

- She has 3 kids: Augustine, Brutus, and Portia. We suspect that the names were Julius' idea given the pattern.

4 years later..

September 29th, 2021 

I woke up dizzy as the night before I had barely any sleep. I looked up at my phone which was on my bedside table and looked at the load of messages from many friends of mine, aka, just Lorenzo, David and Meowscles, who sent me a gif of a kitten with a happy birthday sing in its paws, typical Meowscles. 

I stood up from my bed and put my bunny slippers on, went to the bath, brushed my teeth and went downstairs only to be welcomed by the dinner table decorated in pastel pink birthday decor and a small pink heart-shaped cake in the middle of it. 

⎯ “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LANA!” The agents screamed as I ran to the dining room to hug them all. ⎯ “You did this all for me?! Thank you!” I said as I parted myself from them. ⎯ “Well, we saw, Brutus man did it all himself the night before, i'm still surprised you didn't feel the urge to go downstairs yesterday night” Said Meowscles with a grin, “Hey! And did you see the message I sent you?” He finished off. 

⎯ “How not to..” I said as I looked around noticing my dad wasn't present. ⎯ “Where's my dad?”  I said as I continued to look around. ⎯ “I think he’s upstairs in his office, he said he’d be down when everything was ready but he hasn’t come down ever since” Said Brutus looking at me rather worried. ⎯ “Oh.. I’ll go check on him!” I said as I ran upstairs and to Midas’ office.

When I got near his office’s door I was about to burst in but a slight sob stopped me. I got my ear near the door to try and hear more of it but it was helpless, so instead I slightly opened the door and peeked my head on the crack.

⎯ “Dad, is everything alright?” I asked, looking at my dad head down onto the table. ⎯ “Yes, Lana. Everything’s fine.” He muttered as he slightly looked up from the table. ⎯ I tried to take a look at his face but it was worthless as his arm was covering half of it. ⎯ “I’m just sleepy today.. I have a lot of work to do.” He excused himself ⎯ I looked at him puzzled, as if what he had told me hadn’t convinced me the slightest. “Ya sure?” I said as I walked over beside him and patted his shoulder.

⎯ No Lana no.. It's just that.. You really are growing too fast and.. It's just.. I feel like it all went really fast and-” He stopped, not willing to finish talking. 

⎯ “But dad.. I'm still so young!” I laughed softly “We both have so much to do together and you can take as much time as you want from your job to collect memories with me. Don't be sad about me growing up, Y’know.. apart from my dad you are like my best friend. It’s impossible for me to finish a year without so many cool memories with you. You are different from other dads, that's for sure, but that is no problem for me..” I said as I gave him a big hug. 

⎯ “Thank you Lannyloo.. I appreciate that, a lot really..” He said, looking at the table. “But there’s also.. something i’d like to tell you before you get any older. You’ve always asked and begged for me to tell you what happened between me and your mom and well, I guess you are old enough to know now.” He looked at me soothingly and smiled. 

⎯ “Look, Lana. Back in the day when your mother and I were together she well.. encountered some family problems and.. well, she ended up untrusting every single man she ever met, including me even if we were together way before that problem happened. Well, the point is, she did trust me for some things.. but from what my friend, who was her best friend as well told me is that, she just didn't trust me to be a good parent, she didn’t even trust me to be a parent at all!” He said as he slightly raised his voice. He cleared his throat and regained his composure once again and kept going, “Anyways.. Well, one day she just disappeared from school and never went back, even if we had just one more year to cover she took the decision to leave. She didn't tell anyone, just him.” He kept quiet, then just looked at me and spoke out,

⎯ “She never told me anything about you, she never called, never spoke to me, texted me, she didn’t even tell me if you were a girl or a boy. She just cut me off completely, we didn’t even properly break up. But, well. I already have you back with me and, based on what you’ve told me, I'm a pretty good father aint I?” He chuckled and grinned at me kindly. I smiled back, hugging him once again.

⎯ “Thanks for telling me, dad” I said, small tears forming in my eyes. 

⎯ “It's nothing baby..” He said as he tightened the hug. ⎯ “Now, let's get this party started baby, There’s nothing to cry for today!” He said as he got up from his chair and went out of his office, me following happily. 

Hours Later.. 

The party had begun 15 minutes ago and it was already loaded with people my dad invited. As I had little to no friends at school my dad resorted to inviting some of his co-workers from different places and some of his mysterious “friends”. 

I was wandering around the party, greeting some of my father’s co-workers and looking around at the place decorated by some people my dad paid for. I was looking around trying to spot some of my friends when my dad suddenly went near me and spoke up. 

⎯ “Lana, baby. I want you to meet some people.” Said a grinning and very happy Midas.

⎯ “Who? The people you paid to pretend to be your friends for the hour?” I said, also grinning at him. He just scoffed at me and signaled me to follow, and I did, just to see if his supposed “friends” were actually real. 

After a little while of walking we got to the pool area, a secluded part of the party where faint noises and vibrations of the music were still heard. There stood two men talking to each other, one taller than the other.

⎯ “I got her!” Said my dad as we got closer to them, I just smiled, unable to see their faces due to the darkness of the place, the only light being the ones from the pool.

⎯ “Hey! I thought you'd just leave us here man!” One of them spoke ⎯ “I could’ve”  Said my dad.

⎯ “And.. How much exactly did you pay them? Was it individual, or was it just one check for both of the-” Before I could finish my sentence my dad turned some of the lights on, revealing both guy��s faces. The first one I took a look at was the tall one, He was blonde, very tall and kind of buff? He had messy short hair, chunky brows and a big nose, he looked okay-ish. Then came the second, the small one, well, smaller than the first he was, but compared to me well, you tell me. He. was. Stunning. 

He was kind-of tall, also blond, had long messy blond hair (A/N: yes he has long hair in this AND WHAT?) shiny light eyes, also chunky but small brows, normal nose, and BUFF. My man was good looking and well, I kind of made a notice out of it. 

⎯ “Well, Lana. This is Jonesy,” Said my dad pointing at the tall guy, “And that’s Drift.” Said my dad, referring to the other guy. ⎯ “Oh.. well, uh.. Hi..” I said timidly. ⎯ Both guys grinned at me and greeted back. 

After a short silence my dad started to ask some questions to get me to meet these two, but it seemed like Drift and I had other plans apart from listening to my dad. 

From time to time he’d turn his gaze to look at me up and down, look at my face or other features of mine. And I did so too, without him noticing of course, but instead his glance was so obvious I noticed right away. 

After a while of midas’ talking and joking out with his two friends I excused myself and left again in a hunt for my two friends, Lorenzo and David. I looked around the whole party for them, even upstairs I did, but not a single sign of them. David was easy to spot as he was always scattered around a table or lying down somewhere asleep. Instead, Lorenzo was a complete opposite, he was a party animal and was always everywhere and in everything. I gave up after some good fifteen minutes of walking around the area and not finding them anywhere. Instead, I decided to take a seat at the top of the stairs and look down at the party. There were two sets of stairs in the house, one on the left and the other on the right. I was in the left one as it had a better view of the pool area as well, in which still was standing my dad with Jonesy and Drift, or well, just Midas and Jonesy, as I couldn’t get a view of Drift. As I struggled to take a look to spot where drift was, a sudden masculine voice took me off. 

⎯ “Hey! Are you okay? You seem lonely” Said drift who was right besides me ⎯ “Wait- How did you? Where? Huh?” I looked at him confused, he just laughed ⎯ “I came up from the other way, like- I took the other stairs.. That's the thing” He said, grinning at me. ⎯ “I see.. Well.. hi I guess” I said smiling kindly at him ⎯ “Y’know,” He started “No one should be alone at their birthday, not even you” He said smiling at me, looking at my eyes like a thief to a shining diamond. I instead just looked away shyly. 

⎯ “Well.. Would you like to dance?” He said offering his hand, I just took it and pulled it down. ⎯ “Sorry I- don't really know how to.. But, we could know each other a little more..” I said smiling at him, still holding his hand. He simply nodded. ⎯  “Well where could I begin with..” ⎯ 

After a while, aka an hour and a half, of talking and laughing at dumb stories of drift’s my dad started texting me asking where I was and what I was doing etc etc.. ⎯ “Hey, my dad’s callin’ but keep telling me how you skipped four years!” I said as I stood up, drift doing so as well.  ⎯ “Well, as I was saying. Turns out I was like suuuper intelligent and shit-” I hummed in response as i started going downstairs, “And like I was confused because i'm like super bad at school and stuff but then they told me like nah we’ll put you in 11th grade even if ur like 4 years younger we don't care” We made our ways through the crowd and spotted my dad again, when he looked at me he was happy, maybe even relieved, but oh when he saw drift behind me smiling that happiness faded away in seconds. 

⎯ “And what is it you two where doing hm?” Said a now angry Midas

⎯ “Oh just talking..” I said smiling.
