About Geode: (by @oddogoblino) In an attempt to impress The Eggman, a mad yet inexperienced scientist stole Gerald Robotnik's blueprints of Project SHADOW and tried to improve on it to make the definitive true ultimate lifeform to defeat Sonic once and for all. To add insult to injury, the eggsupporter had chosen to use some of Sonic's DNA along with Shadow's, that'd been found from battle aftermaths, to make his creation. Before their prototype was even finished though, GUN had found out about Project REMASTERED. Rouge told Shadow about it before GUN could do a raid though so he could handle this personal matter how he found fit. Well, Shadow went and destroyed the lab of course, though he wasn't prepared to see just how early in development the project was. He was expecting something full grown but all he found was the prototype barely in the infant phase in its development. Being unable to just kill a baby or adopt this all powerful baby off to an unsuspecting family (and also being unknowingly motivated by Black Arms instincts to keep the species alive), Shadow decided to take the little hoglet in as his own. At first, Shadow was too caught up in caring for Geode off instinct to think about telling anyone about him, but just a few months in and Geode already began showing his defects in creation and Shadow turned to Sonic and Tails for help. Now, Geode has inhibitor rings to keep his chaos energy at a stable level and has been growing up comfortably from home to home, adventure to adventure. Geode himself though, by the time he's 16, is a very quiet, introverted, affectionate, emotional, compassionate, and sort of awkward character. He's not good at social but he cares about others and is very forgiving when hes wronged and has decent emotional intelligence. He's a "be mindful of how you use the water if the cup's half empty" kinda thinker. He's very curious on just about anything new he discovers. Others can think of him as being a bit simple minded sometimes though. People tend to overwhelm him easily so he finds most comfort in spending time with Chao. If he's not on a mission, he's a bit of a clumsy puppy of a guy. But, if Shadow puts 2 thoughts into something and Sonic puts none, then Geode only puts 1 thought into everything he does. He's a pacifist who can't bring himself to hurt living beings, he can fight nonsentient robots just fine but otherwise he prefers to trap any living enemies in whatever he can get his hands on. He's a stealth type and has a habit of stealing artifacts and other magical things he deems too powerful to let be taken even by his dads. He can see chaos auras 24/7 to a heightened sense, being able to see the chaos energy even in plants along with being able to see the chaos energy left behind from those deceased (aka, ghosts). He's faster than Sonic but he's weaker than Shadow. He loves the world around him very dearly, having Sonic's passion for life/the world and Shadow's determination to fight for himself. Geode also has picked up mechanics as a small hobby though he's not very passionate about it.

About Brutus: (by @susahnasomething) A genetically enhanced clone of Shadow (mixed with Sonic's DNA) Brutus was made and raised by Eclipse the Darkling, who hoped to bring back the black arms by making a bunch of super powerful clones. This was not good for her. Eventually the heroes defeated Eclipse, and Shadow rescued her (not her clone siblings sadly, cause SOMEONE DECIDED THAT THERE SHALL ONLY BE ONE) and was then raised by sonadow. Brutus is a dark and conceited girl, reminding everyone of past shadow. Who firmly believes she cannot be killed nor destroyed, so she tends to throw herself into danger. (shes the ultimate lifeform nothing can hurt her!!) . . . totally!

Alright, by popular demand here is my rant analysis of how 'Rex - Brutus II' by The Buttress is basically just TMA season 5!! :3

during this instrumental section, voices in the background whisper 'Brutus'[/'Jon']; either the Eye calling Jon to the Panopticon or Martin trying to get through to him

But now here I supersede you - The difference between you and me - You act out of love for yourself I do so for my love of the people

Again, trying to convince himself of the previous point, however this time it's directed at Elias/Jonah; Jon maintains that he's better than Jonah, but is he?

the aformentioned shouting begins again in the background, as well as the 'Brutus' whispering

Jon talking to the other avatars and/or smiting them; also 'Brutus' = 'Jon' so he is restating his humanity once again

How Jon basically gets to decide who is watcher (an avatar) and who is watched (a victim), and how neither option is good; the people will suffer anyway

He is insisting (to himself or others?) that what he is doing isn't malicious, it's right/good in the long run, it will help everyone eventually, but still a part of him begs to be forgiven

Now eventually, he has come to the end, they all have destroyed the Panopticon and killed Jonah, he and Martin have carved their way through domains like Samson, and now they bring death to Jonah and the Fears , but also to themselves [although those last two are debatable]

Finally, the outro of the song has not only the shouting return, [all the elements together are so good and remind me of the soundscaping in Mag 200 after they succeed]

but elements of the previous song 'Brutus' also bleed through (the tune and the laughs/violin, the word 'Brutus' repeated like a mantra); Jon is being pulled back to himself and his humanity in his last moments; although in the song these elements sound sinister, I think it just reflects how the Archivist comes back to being Jon as the man he loves agrees to kill him - they die/disappear together, as themselves.

And there you have it!! I might add to this later but for now its finished, lmk if I missed anything (I probably did) :3

Mean Girls VS. Wednesday AKA Enid Sinclair = Gretchen Wieners

-"I'll never tell Regina what you said. It'll be our little secret." Similar to Wednesday sharing a sacred memory of what happened to her pet Nero & Enid saying she'll never tell anyone.

-Jason goes out with someone else just like Ajax at the Rave'N dance.

-Gretchen & Enid give it their all to gain the affections of Jason and Ajax.

-Enid & Wednesday dress up like cats for the Poe Cup like Gretchen for the Halloween party.

-And isn't it funny that Wednesday's pet was named Nero (Roman Emperor) equivalent to Gretchen mentioning Caesar & Brutus in her essay to the class when totally done with being under Regina's foot?? I see parallels...

-Gretchen is ALWAYS on Regina's left just like Wednesday told Enid to be on her left in one scene.

-Wednesday uses Enid as a source of info for her investigations (concerning Xavier, Bianca) just like Cady with getting info about Regina's private life.

-Gretchen attempting to turn the radio off with force ends up hitting Jason in the face comparable to when Enid and Ajax are making out & she almost scratches him with her claws.

-Gretchen & Enid both have anger issues with Gretchen losing it over Regina's constant rejections and Enid destroying a school bus when Ajax fails to show for their date. Definitely potential foreshadowing for a falling out between Enid & Wednesday too.

-"The meaner Regina was to her, the more Gretchen tried to win her back." Sounds similar to when Enid & Wednesday had their argument & the aftermath with Enid visiting their room 3 times in 24 hours.

-Gretchen lacks an identity all film. In her last scene, she's in another group but still trying to figure out her place just like with Enid in between the normals and the Werewolves.

Did anyone see how there is a paw print in the same shot as Gretchen that says "lion pride" 👀...

Defining Amy as a "rapist" for mentally altering Victoria non-consensually and then altering her body non-consensually seems extreme. That would mean Rachel "rapes" her dogs. That Victoria herself is a "rapist" when she uses her aura. I think what Amy did is extremely wrong and unforgivable, but calling her a "rapist" is incorrect. And the reading of her as being othered by her nuclear family is a pretty valid reading of her character. It also doesn't excuse what she did, but it does explain it and make her a more sympathetic character. Which is basically what Worm is all about - making "villains" sympathetic. Sure, you can decide that still doesn't make you feel sympathy for her but it doesn't make a person "immoral" if they do. Also, pointing out how she feels like a bad lesbian stereotype doesn't actually place any judgement on her actions or the actions of her victim - just on the writer and text itself.

There's a lot wrong with this Ask, but I choose to believe you are simply forgetting key details and misremembering others, so I will explain why this post is unfortunately incorrect.

Firstly, best to not start off with, "I think what X character did was bad but-" and then follow up with downplaying what the character did, because it sets the tone that you don't actually think what character did was bad. It's a common phrasing used by a lot of rape apologists, nazi dog-whistling, anti-lgtbq+ posts etc etc. Not just in fiction, but RL discussion.

(Spoilers below for Ward and Late-Worm)

Secondly, you quite literally admitted that Amy non-consensually violated Victoria's body, multiple times. She not only made Victoria fall in love with her, not only paralyzed Victoria to operate on her without consent, not only mind-controlled Victoria to use as a puppet, not only kidnapped her (twice), not only kept her as a play toy for 3-4 days...

But she admits to Carol, outright, that she saw Victoria "just lying there" and decided to "use her" for "closure" (aka pleasure), on and off for days, and then fucked with Victoria's memories so Victoria would not remember the details of what Amy did to her (raping her). Which we see of in more detail in Ward, as another mental power unlocked those memories in Victoria's mind.

Note that this was after Amy had already healed Victoria via the fucked-up sarcophagus (that Amy modeled after Victoria's body). Amy just couldn't resist Victoria's unconscious (and probably nude from the acid destroying the costume) body.

Amy raped Victoria several times in Worm, not just in power, but in every way possible. And then she molests Victoria again in Ward by making her love Amy and by kissing her while she's unconscious (and basically psychologically abuses her in arc 14). She also preys on a 14 year old child because she happens to somewhat look like Victoria, both in the hopes of manipulating Victoria to visit said girl (and be forced to thank Amy for "helping" her) and possibly even planning on grooming her into a surrogate Victoria figure.

Amy is rapist. End of discussion.

Thirdly, your use of Bitch's power as a comparison is flawed but still interesting to discuss. For one thing, we know from Brutus interlude that this transformation is not sexual in nature nor does it mentally assault the dog's mind; Brutus compares it to the good feeling of stretching in his limbs, like dogs do all the time. There is nothing said about this power altering their minds.

That being said, what Bitch does with her dogs can indeed be argued to be catalogued as abuse; there has been many a discussion where readers have pointed out that Bitch putting her dogs into these dangerous situations, attacking and crippling people, means that it is more likely for these dogs to be hurt or killed in them defending themselves. Armsmaster outright calls Bitch out on this, funny enough, telling her he doesn't want to keep hurting dogs for their owner's mistakes. One can even argue it's meant to be a dark irony that Bitch spends so much time busting up dog-fighting rings, yet she also constantly puts her dogs in danger.

Fourthly, Victoria's aura: A.) can be resisted just by being stubborn as we see with several characters like Lisa, B.) the idea that she is constantly blasting people with aura is pure fanon, with what we see in Worm and Ward being that she uses it for fights 99% of the time, and C.) the story actively points out that she has to be careful with aura use, and characters in story openly discuss when and when not to use it, or discuss with her how they feel she misused it. To which she often acknowledges them to be correct, tries to adjust herself to do better (with or without success depending on the situation).

It is in fact quite notable that Taylor - when comparing character powers to Heartbreaker (possibly the most well-known rapist in the world) - she compares Regent, Amy, and Gallant. Despite the fact that Taylor never met Gallant and has actively fought Glory Girl, Victoria never once enters her mind as a comparison. Because GG's power is not mind-control or even seen as mind-alteration in the setting; it's treated by those who feel it and fight it as a small obstacle to deal with, rather than anything that feels invasive or sexually exploitative.

That is not to say that they treat her aura use lightly, of course. The two most notable moments are the BBQ and Hard Boil aura use, where the aura is treated as a quite literal symbol of Victoria's PTSD: both times the person (Carol and Hanzo) are actively engaging in behavior that triggers Victoria's trauma (Carol lied to Victoria about Amy being around and make's Victoria paranoid about her being compromised by Amy; Hamza actively victim blames Victoria for not only the death of her boyfriend but also graphically detailing what Amy's molestations of Victoria did to her on live television).

(I also just remembered that Snag forcing Victoria to relive being in the Asylum as the Wretch caused Victoria to go into a screaming PTSD episode that had her blaring the aura as a defense mechanism)

In both these cases, the aura use is treated not as an attempt from Victoria as a means of violating a person's consent for her own pleasure, domination, or objectification of said individual, but rather as a defense mechanism she uses to try and regain mental/emotional footing as her PTSD episode briefly takes control of her actions (we also see this occur with the forcefield re: Valefor, but it occurs far less often). Even then, Carol is actively shocked that Victoria would use her aura like that (implying that Victoria doing so was a surprising faux pau AND also showcasing just how badly Carol fucked up), and Hamza and company are equally upset that Victoria would use her power on them (though Capricorn was quick to point out that this only happened because they triggered her PTSD and the crowd seemed split on blame). Sveta also point blank tells Victoria to not use the aura around her unless it's for emergencies, as it hurts her own power use/body autonomy (which Victoria does respect). In any case, comparing Victoria's aura to Amy is flawed in multiple ways: Victoria never used her power as a means of sexual exploitation, objectifying an individual for her own pleasure, nor as a means to mutilate/molest/aid in the rape of another human being.

Amy actively views and uses her power as a means of violating body autonomy as a means of gaining sexual pleasure, objectifying an individual for her own pleasure, and as a means to mutilate/molest/aid in the rape of another human being, and has done so multiple times throughout the franchise. Even when characters actively tell her that they do not consent to being touch or Amy invading their biology to discuss their sexual/mental health (see; Yamada), Amy instead views it as a means of gaining power over an individual for her own use.

Obviously, enjoying a character who is Evil does not make the reader evil by proxy. I doubt most Darth Vader fans really want to murder elementary school children or strangle pregnant women (though some people do get upset when you point out the Empire is a Fascist Regime, but that's a separate discussion).

Likewise, Amy being one's favorite character does not mean a reader must be a rapist themselves. I myself quite enjoy Amy as a character and have recommended one of the best Amy centric fanfics before (Wound by SprialHelix) on this site.

But there is a difference between liking a character and white-washing them to the point that it becomes victim blaming.

Finally: I have never once voiced an opinion on the "nuclear family" discussion.

The closest I ever came to that discussion was mocking some user for trying to defend Incest as being cool and claiming that Incest Supporters are being targeted unfairly and compared them to the LGTBQ+ defenders.

Which, I must say, is fucking insulting to compare the struggles of the LGTBQ+ to those who want to fuck their children/siblings/parents/cousins etc etc

I hope this clarification helps you understand the point I stand in regard to reminding people that Amy Dallon is a rapist, and how dangerous it can be to fall for those who wish to white-wash her actions in favor of demonizing her rape victim, rather than accept her characters as the actual character she is.

BACKSTORY:

It's hard enough to be a forbidden child of the Big Three, try being impossible. Thanatos, as the personification of death, is unable to create life, and therefore, unable to have demigod children. But, after falling in love with a certain witch from Vermont, Thanatos took it upon himself to try.

By trading souls for souls, life for life, two children came to exist. The twins of death—Ambrosia and Azrael. Their existence defied every law of nature, of life and death, and that attracted the gods attention—and not in a good way.

Due to their unstable powers, the twins were forced to be taken to Camp Half-Blood sooner than most, as their control over the forces of death made them dangerous to mortals. But, on the journey, the twins were attacked and Ambrosia fell protecting the other—supposedly.

I always felt out of place at Camp Half-Blood. It was never to do with other kids. They found me odd or off-putting at first, but I made them warm up to me. Being a child of Thanatos comes with a certain stigma. People look at you like you the harbinger of the apocalypse. You could sulk and be moody about how no one understands you, or you could actually do something about it. Dismantling stereotypes takes one step, and the rest will come in time. For now? I do my best to help unclaimed kids find their place at Camp. I help those who aren't taken seriously because their parent is a minor god find their voice.

People are still scared of me sometimes, and I get it. People are scared of the unknown, and death is the biggest unknown in mortal life. But, I'm dismantling stereotypes one person at a time. Not just for my benefit, but for all demigods at Camp Half-Blood.

Let's see... it's a question of whether it should be purely based on how nice the name sounds or whether these figures should be cat-like in some way...

1. Porcia (CATonis)

I think that a lot of Roman names work great for cats. I went with Porcia because of how universal it is. Are you interested in Roman history? Or just happen to be really into Shakespeare? Porcia CATonis has got you covered!

2. Éléonore (Duplay)

okay, hear me out here. Calling a cat Éléonore may be a bit awkward, but you could call her Leo for short!

3. Marcus (Brutus/Agrippa/Antony...)

Not to insist on gendering cats' names, but if you want to go for a more traditionally male name, I think Marcus is a good option!

Plus, it can refer to Marcus Junius Brutus, Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa or even Mark Antony (who's by the way incredibly cat-coded, if you ask me!). The list goes on of course, since it seems that you could either be called Gaius or Marcus and that was mostly it.

4. Maximilien (Robespierre)

I know Robespierre was more of a dog person, but Maximilien is just objectively a good name for a cat. You could even go for Meow-ximilien, if you want to be really extra with it. It could potentially lead to some exhausting conversations though.

5. Émilie (du Châtelet)

Look, you probably knew this was coming. A nice sounding name? Check. Feline qualities? Check. What more could you want from a cat name?

Brutus 2019/3/15, Fuuko Noda's essay

Part 1.

Before I started working on Yuri!!! on ICE, I only watched figure skating on TV once in a while. The Director, Yamamoto Sayo, and Kubo Mitsurou-sensei are huge fans of figure skating, so I was learning from them about it, at the same time as we were creating this show.

'In the matter of figure skating, I'm not willing to accept any compromises' - this strong deterioration of Yamamoto Director led us to work with many people, who are professionally involved in figure skating. And because of this, we couldn't make something that's only half-baked. We asked figure skating choreographer, Miyamoto Kenji-sensei to choose music and choreography for every skater, and record it. Based on that footage, we created the animation.

Recording this kind of footage before anime production, as well as asking Chacott, a maker of ballet and dance supplies, to design costumes for every skater, are both something that we have tried for the first time. We had to place a lot of very special orders that were specific for Yuri!!!, and this was very though work, but at the same time, I've learned a lot through it.

After recording of choreography was finished, we started working on the animation, using that footage as a reference. It turned out that it's impossible to properly express what we wanted to express, if we don't have the knowledge of very fine details of figure skating, such as if the edge of take off for every type of jump is the inside or the outside edge, or were the weight of the body is placed. Animators were studying the reference footage and footage of real-life figure skating competitions, in order to find the right way to express everything in animation.

In addition, to make the anime a little bit closer to the feel of watching a real-life figure skating competition, we asked ex-figure skaters for help. Yokoya Hanae-san was our technical supervisor, Oda Nobunari, Honda Takeshi and Stephane Lambiel appeared in the story as themselves. The power of these Legends is one factor that makes this show so charming.

[Notes: A short essay by MAPPA's (now ex-) producer, Fuuko Noda. Very interesting, because Brutus is a life style magazine, that normally doesn't touch anime, so you can see how Yuri!!! was advertised to non-anime fans (aka how they wanted people to see Yuri!!!). oh hi! we haven't talked before! hello brutus, my name is silver! normally anne would answer this, since she's the one actually fronting, and all the rest of us are actually kind of co-conscious, but i figured i'd answer this, since anne is in a pretty big red panda kinshift, while also being age regressed, so we figured she's not in a proper state to answer this right now.

Jurassic Gems AU - Jurassic World is an ambitious park built by Greg. The CGs are dinosaurs made by InGen, the Homeworld gems are dinosaurs made by BioSyn, and chaos ensues. This is an OLDDD premise, one of the first AUs I made upon coming to this site, and I’m pretty sure the designs are the first things I’ve posted on my art blog.
