ask game: 12, 18, 47, 55
Thanks for asking! Asks are from here, for reference
12. name of your favorite playlist?
Of my non-automated playlists, I have hfksks, Thoughts, mob, and link click. Of those, the last two are only there so I could sort out series-specific songs/soundtracks into one place. So it'd be one of the first two. hfksks has loads of songs (46) and is just for putting on during a long journey or something. Thoughts is much more curated so only 13 songs in it and is just for when I'm in a sort of melancholy mood, I suppose
18. ideal weather?
I think low to mid-twenties (celsius) with a light breeze? Don't super mind if it's overcast or sunny in this case. Both have their pluses (aka, overcast may be more pleasant than glaring sun but it also means it's about to start hammering it down, so.) I do appreciate the aesthetics of other types of weather more, but in terms of weather I'd actually like to be *outside* in, I think I like this best.
47. favorite type of cheese?
I'm going to be so boring and/or stereotypical here, apologies. Not a huge strong cheese fan so it's just mild/medium all the way down. For standard sandwiches, I tend to be pretty boring and go for plain mild cheddar. If it's with soup then wensleydale or another crumbly cheese like red leicester. If it's just like... cheese and crackers, then all of the above but toss in some variants with chilli or garlic or cranberries embedded within. I guess edam or maybe brie too?
55. favorite fairy tale?
I don't think I actually have one. There are a few I associate with shows or books I enjoy though. Madoka has the Little Mermaid for Sayaka along with all the Faust stuff. Princess Tutu has variations of lots of popular western European fairy tales too. Won't lie, I did also read a lot of the Percy Jackson books growing up and even though I fell off them after the first series that also introduced me to plenty of Greek myths. Similar to the Wyrd Museum series with Norse mythology (the idea of the Norns/Fates still sticks with me). I'd like one day to get more into British/Celtic folklore but at present my knowledge feels way too superficial so I only know broad concepts like selkies/brownies/changelings and if you ask me something like Arthurian legends I wouldn't have a clue. On the non-European side, there's stuff like Princess Kaguya, Tanabata/Qixi, Meng Po... let's also chuck in Styx-adjacent stuff whilst we're at it because you find similar concepts across different cultures. Yeah, I can't decide >_<
also my url here is a reference to norse mythology

To Do List Artwork • Continue Figma iPhone 13 mockup design • Wine bottle labels • Draw Louis Bonaparte’s Bust into real life (without bustiness) • “Asoka” movie references for Napoleonic - Use Murat as an arrogant Ancient Indian Prince • Marshal Soult exploring Turkey for discovering baking methods (full-detailed drawing) • Lagaan movie references (love - triangle, cricket game teams) • Duke of Wellington playing cricket • Louis Alexander Berthier as Daijan (Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham) • Murat farting on the balcony. • Bessieres using chopsticks to try sushi while Eugene snaps a random pic of him • Napoleon diving into spicy Korean noodles and crying. • Caroline Murat weightlifting. • Lefebvre TikTok reviewing Celsius’s sparkling Cola, filmed by Caulcaincourt as he zooms in on Lefebvre’s lips sipping on the cup as a joke. (According to my experience) • Louis Bonaparte or aka Lodewijk Napoleon smoking medical marijuana weekly, storing weed materials in his 90+ drawer desk. So organized lol. • Marshal Ney attaining tattoos and piercings that work best with him. (Neck tattoos) • Marshal Murat pulls off the septum piercing. • Pauline Borghese claiming that she’s vegan. Napoleon mocks her to tease her. • Marshal Murat’s mom….. • Mameluke Roustam Raza being a comforting friend to Duroc.
When you have so many ideas, you don’t know where to start and manifest that. It’s like telling people, “Hey, I’m planning something”, but not actually doing it out of hesitation and loss of motivation. For me, I have procrastination issues, and I get distracted easily.
So far, I knocked out Louis Bonaparte’s bust portrait, because that to me felt achievable and easy. So what other things feel easier? Or what will I maintain interest into or for lack of a better word, “patience”?
Although, looking at this To Do Art list, I feel like I have some really funny stuff going on.

i am out there!! i'm glad you liked it! i'm definitely trying out the recipe you left in the tags. it sounds way better than just banana and peanut butter. i always have to pay a lot of attention when i type banana because i've ended up with "bananana" way too many times
i was planning to run straight to your askbox the second i saw you replied but then the end of the semester happened and it killed me. hopefully i'm done with it now
i do exactly the same thing with height! if you tell me your height in feet i have absolutely no idea how tall that is. if you say that in centimetres that's easy. i mean you're 155cm so that's 12cm shorter than me. when you told me that in feet i was like okay cool i have no idea how much shorter than actually is
i love birds!!! so that seems awesome! i am now titling you the queen of birds. and i'm glad your vacation was good! i think i saw a couple of posts you made about it so it definitely does seem like a lot of fun! and did you ever figure out completely what that see through animal (?) in the sand was? i had no idea stuff like that even existed so now i'm invested in knowing what it is
i am 100% hiring you for my coming out party i'm throwing in a couple of years. it's gonna be fun. if we don't get immediately kicked out i promise good food and some spicy drama between my homophobic relatives and my accepting relatives! and my brother's, who i already came out to, dry commentary
i was definitely not the one you told about burma trails! but from the tags i'm just gonna say how is that allowed and why does it seem like a weird type of torture? i hate it, i probably would've had a heart attack 3 seconds in
oh yeah i actually can't tell most of the time if the memories from my childhood are actual memories or if it's just a combination of having seen photos and heard stories about it
my glasses prescription is fine i think. my eye doctor said that i get headaches from glasses because... well i tried to explain this and then deleted it all because it was a very scientific explanation when she said it and i zoned out pretty much halfway through and even the part that i did understand i can't translate to english! but it has something to do with the fact that with contacts it's enough to move my eyes in the direction i want to look at and with glasses i have to move my whole head and my brain got so used to contacts that it overdoes it with the eye movements when wearing glasses? i dunno. this is the best i can do in explaining it
i must admit i'm very jealous of the never snows part because while snow is pretty to look at it's absolutely freezing! for the past week i slept under a duvet, three blankets while wearing pants and a long sleeve shirt and i still woke up cold. because for a couple of nights it was around -22°C. it's great
ohhh you got pretty lucky as a kid then! my kid self would have absolutely lost it at getting the equivalent of 5/10 bucks. i probably would have bought so much candy
excellent!!! hope you’re enjoying the vague void from whence you came! i’ve never said whence before in my LIFE i wonder if i used it correctly. anyway. the actual recipe was way more specific but once i saw ‘2 frozen bananas’ and looked at all the sliced bananas in my fridge, having no idea how many there were, i just started improvising sdfkhsdfs. I’d be interested to try it with yoghurt though if I can get some dairy free plain stuff, I’m sure I can somewhere. Banana used to be my biggest problem when I was younger. Then I learnt words like occasion and necessary and embarrassed and I realised the more english I tried to learn, the worse my life was gonna get. And I was right. On the bright side, developing an inability to ever spell occasion correctly made banana seem a lot easier to handle.
that is fair. end of semesters are rough. i cannot function during them at all. i hope everything chills out for you!! i’m not sure how the school year is over there but maybe it’s break time? that’d be nice. but rest in peace anyway, enjoy being dead! they say necromancy is frowned upon in all societies but I reckon it’s just called making a friend when you’re dead so maybe you wanna take that up as a hobby! I’ve heard it’s nice this time of year!
yup! sometimes I’m like oh you’re 5 foot 4? that sounds way taller than me. but it...it really isn’t...it’s like an extra 8cm or something. which adds up! but in my head I was picturing a MUCH taller height. In my head I think I picture 6 foot and 5 foot 4 as the same height, now that I think about it.
!!!!! my first order as queen of birds is to meet a morepork face to face so we can chat about the price of pork these days. yes!! the first half was nice but the second half was really fun. my best guess is still that it’s a salp? Maybe? So many salp pictures are massive groups of them but like,, from what i can tell of singular photos,,, it was maybe that? I guess the only other possibility is it’s just some clear jellyfish but salp does seem more likely. At first I was like oh duuude boob implant for the ocean!! but then I realised it actually seemed kinda alive and was probably an actual creature. my bad.
excellent. i’ll break any tension by dropping the vampire act for the mouse act. will do backflips for cheese. will bite ankles for homophobic comments. Will pull a knife out of god knows where, not to threaten anyone, just to clean my nails with to make everyone nervous. I offer many services. I’m flexible. And I love me some good food.
I actually DON’T know the reason behind burma trails. I really don’t. The reason ‘it’s a fun activity!’ seems a little fake. if it’s a fun activity then why did Mrs. G. tell us a horror story about the forest before we went out to navigate said forest at night, blindfolded, surrounded by wildlife and parents supervising (*cough* waiting for the opportunity to jump out at you *cough*) with a teacher at the end waiting to scare us. So we can learn how to navigate the forest in the dark? So we learn how to follow a mysterious rope INTO the forest at night? seems dodgy to me. school camps be like [drives you out to forest] follow this rope and don’t take your blindfold off. like. bruh. i almost DID have a heart attack one time, I got stuck like something was holding my leg. First thought-ah, must’ve got my leg stuck in a big stick. Second thought-maybe this is one of the parents fucking around, it feels more like a grip than a twig. Third thought-I cannot get my leg free no matter what I do what the fuck is HAPPENING so I started crying out for help. When they FINALLY came they found nothing my leg was caught on so that was fun. love that for me. I was able to move as soon as they arrived. That’s not weird at all. anyway.
I think most of my early memories are just from stories I’ve been told and photos I’ve seen. My memory tends to be horrible I highly doubt I remember that one time I was eating dirt from the garden out in the yard gleefully. I just saw the photo evidence. mm spaghetti. bone apple teeth. my character hasn’t changed at all since I was a wee babe.
ohhhh okay. I think I get what you mean by that. Thank you for trying to explain! That’s really interesting. I guess I do move my head a lot with glasses. Although I have massive glasses so it’s probably easier for me to just move my eyes where I want. I reckon with smaller glasses I’d have to move my head way more.
the temperature comment is so funny because during the heart of winter i tend to sleep with a sheet, a blanket, a duvet, then 2-4 blankets on top while in a long sleeve shirt and long pants and sometimes bed socks and often a hottie (i’ve never realised how that sounds out of context...a hot water bottle...is calling it a hottie normal or is a my family thing? is this a nz thing? now i’m questioning myself). in my uni accommodation last year we didn’t have proper heating during most of winter and well. there was a quilt added to everything else. every blanket i could find. how cold does it get here in winter? rarely ever past 0 degrees celsius. I would literally die in your position, clearly. I could not survive that. Props to you for making it through aha.
yesss. Before when I found five dollar notes it’d be on the street and I’d be like oh no! Mum we have to hand this into the police station! It’s a lot of money, someone will be looking for it! Understandably she was like,, lindsey they might miss it but there’s not really any way you can find them,,, I still refused to spend it. That was like my first time really getting that much money for myself. The dairy on main street sold lollies for 10 cents each and they had like, 30 different lil glass boxes so you’d go I want 3 of 26, 5 of 7, ohhh and 5 of 13 please! I dunno if they’re still 10 cents each but I thought it was the best thing ever as a kid. I think I wanted to save the money though sfdjsdkfhs put it in my piggy bank to save up for something ‘super cool’. Aka probably like a neat soft toy to sleep with sdfsdkfs.
#Anonymous#i wrote the majority of this reason like a couple hours after you sent it#then i went to bed because it was late. thinking to myself. oh i'll finish the last bit in the morning!#but of course in the morning the lil 1 didn't show up above mail and it was located in my drafts now so my dumb ass was like ah yes#absolutely nothing to respond to here!#i should know by now i never remember if i save things to drafts sfjshkdfhsdf#anyway#i REMEMBERED. a few days late. BUT i didn't just forget entirely so! there's that!#now i'll finish the last bit of the response and edit the incomprehensible tired mumbling parts#although i'm currently overheating so now it'll be incomprehensible overheated brain parts! fun!#no i cannot handle cold temperatures no i cannot handle 'hot' temperatures i can handle like a one to two degree range#and nothing else. life is. a trip.#I still don't know what to call dairy's when talking to people outside nz#corner store? they're not always on corners. convenience store? maybe. small shop? idk dude#i don't quite know the correct thing to equate them to.#but they sell lollies sometimes. that's the main point here sdkjhskdf#now to decide what I'm doing tonight#play stardew valley. watch someone else play stardew valley on youtube. stare at my ceiling thinking about stardew valley. do the dishes#earlier today i was like maybe...maybe i'll watch a movie...add some variety to my life...#i wanted to rewatch whatever movie has that song that is like agggooonnnyyyyyy#that's the only word i remember from the song. so it's that. or...well...back to my obsession

Yutyrannus huali
By Scott Reid
Etymology: Feathered Tyrant
First Described By: Xu et al., 2012
Classification: Dinosauromorpha, Dinosauriformes, Dracohors, Dinosauria, Saurischia, Eusaurischia, Theropoda, Neotheropoda, Averostra, Tetanurae, Orionides, Avetheropoda, Coelurosauria, Tyrannoraptora, Tyrannosauroidea, Proceratosauridae
Status: Extinct
Time and Place: Sometime between 129 and 122 million years ago, from the Barremian to the Aptian ages of the Early Cretaceous
Yutyrannus is known from an unspecified member of the Yixian Formation in Liaoning, China
Physical Description: Yutyrannus is one of those dinosaurs that probably wasn’t much to look at, in terms of extraordinary appearance, at the time it lived - but to us, it is one of the most fascinating and exciting dinosaurs ever found. It was a large predator, around 9 meters long and weighing a little over one tonne. It had a long snout like other Tyrannosaurs, with a high crest in the middle of the snout that makes it distinct from other Tyrannosaurs. It also had extremely hollowed out openings in its head, giving it a lighter weight skull. It had a very flat tongue, like a crocodile, that was also fairly fixed as opposed to living birds. It had short arms, with three fingers on each hand (unlike the Tyrannosaurids, which would have two), and long, powerfully muscular legs connected to a similarly muscular tail. Of course, the most interesting fact about Yutyrannus was its feathers. Yutyrannus was covered in long (as long as 20 centimeters), shaggy feathers, covering nearly all over the body of the dinosaur. This makes Yutyrannus one of the largest animals known with direct evidence of feathers. If scales were present on this fluffer-nutter, we aren’t actually sure where!
By Conty, CC BY-SA 3.0
Diet: As a Tyrannosaur, Yutyrannus would have fed primarily on other dinosaurs and animals smaller than itself.
Behavior: Yutyrannus was an extremely common animal in its habitat, which strongly suggests that it was at least somewhat social, possibly even a pack hunter. In fact, we have enough specimens of this animal to know that, as it grew, the lower legs, feet, pelvis, and arms grew smaller relative to its body; and the skull grew more robust and deep compared to the rest of the body. As a dinosaur, Yutyrannus would have taken care of its young; the fact that it was potentially social makes the likelihood of it doing so even larger. As for the feathers, it is more likely than not that Yutyrannus evolved these structures for the cold climate it lived in - it was, on average, only 10 degrees Celsius in the Yixian, which would have necessitated fluffy covering for maintaining body warmth. This also would explain why later Tyrannosaurids lost most of their feathers, as the climate of their habitat grew warmer. It is, however, possible that Yutyrannus also used at least some aspects of their feathers in social display - which is also the probable reason for the crest on the middle of its skull, which could have been colored differently or patterned in order to stand out to potential mates.
By Meig Dickson & Diane Remic
Ecosystem: Yutyrannus lived in the Yixian, a chilly coniferous forest marked with distinct seasonal changes and high levels of humidity, briefly broken up with notable dry seasons - in short, it was like modern-day Chicago, just with coniferous trees instead of deciduous ones (not least because deciduous trees, aka flowering trees, weren’t a very big deal yet). It would not be unsurprising if it had four distinct seasons - very wet springs, drier summers, dry autumns, and a return to humidity and wetness come winter. In fact, there is a nonzero chance that snow was a regular feature of the Yixian formation. There were a variety of flowering plants present along with ferns, horsetails, ginkgoes, cycads, seed ferns, and many others, leading to a variety of herbivores being present in this ecosystem. These forests surrounded a series of freshwater lakes with abundant minerals present, due to nearby volcanic reactions. Periodic disturbances due to these volcanic eruptions lead to very rapid animal turnover, and an extreme diversification - especially of fluffy dinosaurs - in the region.

It is uncertain what sorts of dinosaurs actually lived with Yutyrannus, specifically because it is uncertain what part of the ecosystem Yutyrannus was found in. It is likely that it lived alongside the small early therizinosaur Jianchangosaurus, which would have been a major source of prey for Yutyrannus; it is also possible that it lived alongside the raptors Changyuraptor and Zhenyuanlong, which may have fed upon the babies of Yutyrannus. More research as to where in the ecosystem Yutyrannus hailed from will reveal more about its role in the food chain. It is possible, as shown above, that it may have hunted large sauropods such as Dongbeititan, provided it lived in the same region as them. Evidence of sauropod bones in the same location indicates that least some sort of sauropod was present as food for this dinosaur.
By Ripley Cook
Other: Yutyrannus was a Proceratosaurid, a group of early Tyrannosaurs which showcased interesting headgear, fluffy body covering, and what Tyrannosaurs were doing in the Early Cretaceous. Yutyrannus was one of the largest members of this group, and as such it is possible that it falls outside of the Proceratopsaurid group, as it has some features of the groups of Tyrannosaurs that would later evolve into the Tyrannosaurids. It is also entirely possible that Tyrannosaurids evolved from Proceratosaurids - and the traits of the group are just common to all early Tyrannosaurs.

20 Ways With Tinned Tuna
Way earlier than Lockdown, if I noticed a particular on tinned tuna, I might replenish. Why? Because tinned tuna is a flexible, ready-to-eat, good-for-you protein. And it might usually kind part of my work-day desk lunch rotation. In truth, I saved tins of tuna in my desk drawers for emergency lunches! So, to be trustworthy, when tinned tuna specials got here on throughout Lockdown (5 for R65 — I’m looking at you Woolworths), I purchased in…
Now in the event you consider tinned tuna, I guess you'll be able to consider perhaps 3, Four or 5 methods you should utilize it… however 20? I’ll admit, it was a stretch for me too… But then I began remembering recipes my gran would make once we had been youngsters. And recipes from the Jewish aspect of my household (as a result of in case you don’t know, you can't combine milk and meat, ie: no cheeseburgers for you)… So, right here, a complete checklist of recipe concepts that includes tinned tuna. I got the perfect question for you. Is there an in universe reason for Dragon City to be built so vertically? Why couldn't they just sprawl out like normal city plans?I think OSHA would have a field day with Dragon City, and suffer a heart attack.
Hmm...I can’t remember...oh, wait, you mean why it’s built upwards? Oh! I actually do know why, there’s a reason for that!
Dragon-City is built in the Draconis equivalent of the Grand Canyon! They physically can’t go outward, they’re in a depression in the earth. That’s why Sun-City is called such, it’s the only part of the city that’s on ground level. Here’s the Ask The Magna Draconis bits on the dragon-city.org website about the city’s location:
For starters, Draconis is the planet's name. Dragon City sits in a massive depression much like the Grand Canyon, meaning in our case, that about two thirds of the way up is at sea level so for now, going down into the Undercity and the Old City are more like going into conventional mines on Earth only deeper...and being in Sun City is more like living in colorado except that Dragon City lies close to the planet equator making it far warmer and much less seasonal than Denver. Now, while the deep parts of the city would figure to be quite cold, remember that much of the ground of Earth has a native temperature of 55 degrees fahrenheit or 13 degrees celsius and Draconis is no different. Also, the Old City is closer to the geothermal and volcanic activity that helped drive the building of the city in the first place after the golden age was over. Hope that helps!
“two thirds of the way up is at sea level” so yeah, it’s a dracking deep chasm. That’s why air isn’t necessarily a problem, because they’re not going up in the atmosphere, they’re going up in the ground. Also, on that note, here’s this:
There is vast wilderness between cities and yes there are other cities on this planet! They are remnants of the city states that once were the Draconium Empires! One sits near a chain of volcanoes (Red), another by a great sea (Light Blue), one of windswept caverns and cliff sides (White) and so on. These city-states are who compete in the Elite Class Races! It is here in the Elite Class that war takes place on a weekly basis. The Elite Class was designed as a means to control the warring impulse, to prevent future war by allowing a controlled sport version of it. Dragon City is just the oldest and most powerful city and the seat of the vestiges of the ancient gold dragons but for a time, the old city was abandoned to Hydrags and Muhorta as the humans and dragons spread out and became empires.
Lastly, here’s a sentence from an excerpt describing Present Day Dragon City: This brings us to present day Dragon City, a fractured society that is twenty miles high. It’s a city that’s twenty miles high, built atop the bones of its ancient self and ascending to the opening of the chasm they’re in.
Now, don’t ask me about the Wastelands of Loan and how that fits in, I...I’m not quite sure...my brain has yet to puzzle out where those geographically fit in with the chasm thing. But yeah, no, that’s why it seems to be eternally night time in Dragon City, and why there are so many lights. Because the lower you go, the deeper you go, and the less sunlight you get. Mid-City, aka where Penn Stables is, is just below Sun-City and so gets more sunlight than most areas. But everything below Mid-City sees less and less sunlight, till there’s just none at all.

I came SO close to just saying “fuck it” last night cos I could not stop snacking and grabbing little tastes of everything. But even though I was eating more than I wanted, when I forced myself to take the time to log everything, I was pleasantly surprised to find out it didn’t add up to too much!!
I tried my best to estimate accurately, maybe I underestimated. Idk. Trying not to freak out about being exact and just reassuring myself it wasn’t as much as I thought. Maybe my “binges” last week weren’t really THAT high in calories, after all!! Really gotta force myself to keep logging no matter what & maybe that will help me see it’s not so bad.
Gonna take it easy on myself today. Gonna try to just snack lightly through the morning but no full meals until dinner, but won’t let myself be starving all day so I don’t way pig out. Aiming for moderate, controlled, almost normal lol. Rhea Jones was the daughter of an Air Force official. After tagging along with her father to a government base in the Arctic, an explosion involving a powerful radioactive electromagnet killed her father and granted her electromagnetic abilities. Rather than stick around and be dissected and experimented on by the army, she ran away and joined the circus. After a few years, Rhea was recruited by Arani Caulder to join her new Doom Patrol. She debuted in Doom Patrol #3 (September 13, 1987). After being recruited by Arani Caulder, aka Celsius, Rhea was now one of three new recruits into the Doom Patrol, along with Scott Fischer and Wayne Hawkins, aka Karma. Celsius gave her the codename Lodestone. Her demonstrated abilities allowed her to fly, give herself Earth reinforced superstrength, create limited force fields, and attract or repel metallic objects like bullets.

Today’s anonymous review not a flame, just... confusing for me, personally.
This was definitely NOT rated K. This shouldn't be for kids.
For “Dandelions and Pomegranates”. Aka, one of the softest things I ever wrote? Like? It’s literally just Nico and Persephone bonding? Her giving him love-advise? Whaaat about that was not suited for kids...? Seriously. It’s like. Literally the most harmless shit I might have ever written??
I mean. Lemme be real for a second, the main reason most my fics include smut is literally just so I could rate them M and not break my fucking brain trying to figure out the American rating system.
And I’m not joking. That is liiiterally the reason I started including smut in most fics. Because I could slap one easily understandable rating onto it and be done with it.
Seriously, why must you Americans do everything so fucking complicated?
“Meters? 100 centimeter forming one meter? And 10 milimeter forming one centimeter? How logical and simple. Ew. No. Have a foot, that is twelve inches and an inch is like 2,54cm. That’s better!”
“Wait, why would we want to use Celsius? An easier readable and more logical way of measuring temperature? Here, have some Fahrenheit.”
No. Stop it. Just... Why? I swear, you’re the country where microwave companies get sued because idiot users microwaved their dogs, because it was not explicitely stated on the description that you shouldn’t put your animal into this. How do you not just adapt the easiest and most logical system for all the things...?
We, in Germany, have a very simple and logical rating system.
It goes 0, 6, 12, 16, 18. Which literally are the years it is advised for.
For the smallest, most innocent kids. For the big bigger, cleverer kids, for pre-teens, for teens, for adults. Easy peasy. Everyone’s been those ages, everyone remembers what’s appropriate to be confronted with at those ages. No lengthy explanations needed.
And then there’s this shit.
K: Intended for general audience 5 years and older. Content should be free of any coarse language, violence, and adult themes.
This one. Nothing then? I mean, what exists without violence? I can literally not name a single children’s movie or book I ever read or watched that’s without violence? Not. A. Single. One.
K+: Suitable for more mature childen, 9 years and older, with minor action violence without serious injury. May contain mild coarse language. Should not contain any adult themes.
Whaaat in the world is “minor” violence? And why do you think 9 year olds can be confronted with it? Have you gone to kindergarten? That’s a heap of not just minor violence? And what’s an unserious injury...? Also what the fuck does “Coarse language” even mean? Coarse is a word used to describe... sand? I distinctively remember ever only hearing that word in the context of “Worst Star Wars quotes ever”.
T: Suitable for teens, 13 years and older, with some violence, minor coarse language, and minor suggestive adult themes.
Sooo. The same as before. But this time “minor suggestive adult themes”. What the ever-loving fuck does that even mean? What constitutes as an adult theme? What makes such a theme suggestive? And how can it be minor?
M: Not suitable for children or teens below the age of 16 with possible strong but non-explicit adult themes, references to violence, and strong coarse language.
...How are adult themes strong, but not explicit? The only way to make them strong is by making them explicit?? And “references to violence” is literally what is like filed under K+, that whole “minor action violence” is stronger than if you just make a reference to violence...? What the fuck is this?
Rated 16 in Germany is just... violent shit. Like. The line’s explicit sex, that’d make it rated 18 and that’s the end of it. Otherwise, anything goes.
How do you even make M content? How is that possible? How do you make “strong but non-explicit adult themes” and how do you possibly think that 16 year olds can’t handle explicit violence so we can only make a reference to it?
MA: Content is only suitable for mature adults. May contain explicit language and adult themes.
Hooonestly, the whole name of this one is simply a joke. “Mature Adults”. That... “Tall Giants” and “Short Dwarves” and the “Salty Sea” would like to fall in line with this. You literally slap one word in front of the other where both mean the same thing? And still has no one explained to me what those dubious “adult themes” are. Is it sex? Were we just talking about sex the whole time? Can’t you just say sex? It’s got less letters than “adult themes”, I’ll tell you that.
Seriously.
It just fucks with me to even think about what the American rating system is supposed to mean because it literally makes no sense at all. That’s why I really like AO3. It doesn’t give you bullshit ratings with dubious words, it tells you clearly how it is. Even a total moron, or someone from a country with a sensible rating system can make heads and tails of it.
#Really Pointless Rant#Rating Systems#fuck them#and I am 100 percent serious#I mainly write smut to avoid thinking about the rating#wtf kinda dissection would I have to perform to figure that shit out#and why are Americans so obsessed with coarse language?#what the fuck

Thoughts on the Tata Tigor EV Electric Sedan
The story of the Tigor EV Electric Sedan begins with a authorities contract. For as soon as in 2017, the babus get it proper – as they take an excellent resolution of kick beginning the nascent Indian EV four wheeler market, with a stimulus. So an order of ten thousand automobiles is tendered. When all the bets appeared to be on Mahindra strolling away with the order, Tata Motors emerges as the darkish horse.
Having began my profession with Tata Motors, I’m stunned. The firm just isn’t actually recognized for its agility. To proceed the babu story – what they didn’t anticipate – is the hostile response to EVs that the sarkaari drivers would have. Used to the perks of siphoned petrol and diesel, the drivers’ resistance developed, as they may not determine easy methods to siphon electrical energy! But the greater subject, at the least from the Tigor EV perspective, was the decrease vary. And particularly, when it received in comparison with the different participant, in the two horse EV car race in India, the E-Verito. The episode jogs my memory of the story, of the demented man who goes to a city and locations an order with the carpenter, who in flip goes on to rejoice by enriching the baker – and many others – and usually the city will get again its financial system. Later on, the carpenter realises that the order was a spurious one, however by then it would not matter – the velocity has come again in circulation in the financial system, and as the three idiots would say, all izz properly. Like the madman in the above story, EESL realised that that they had goofed up on the specs – and determined that the greatest method to save face was to postpone accepting deliveries. And so right here was Tata Motors, who had spent massive bucks on creating the Tigor EV, questioning what to do with the Tigor EV.
Earlier N. Chandra, the new chairman of the Tata group, had different plans. He created a particular EV division at Tata Motors, which is impartial of the Commercial and Passenger Car enterprise. The division has its personal President – who reviews on to the Tata Motors MD. The consideration of the prime administration made a distinction. Instead of jettisoning the Tigor EV after the lack of Government orders, the firm determined to vary route and promote the car to fleet operators. And guess what, the fleet guys gave the identical suggestions, as the authorities – give us extra vary. And TML listened. In Oct 19, they upgraded the battery pack – and received the vary as much as an ARAI accredited 213 km. A standard Ola / Uber car does about that a lot in a day – in most cities in India, with the exception of the sprawling NCR. So I believe 200 km is a candy spot for the fleet guys. Increase the vary additional, and you’ve got each value and weight penalties. With BS 6 coming in Apr 20, most car corporations are out of the blue going to be discovering diesel going out of trend. The urea tanks required in diesel automobiles to satisfy NOx emission requirements aren’t actually endearing themselves to car homeowners. So now is an efficient time for corporations to start out providing the electrical drivetrain as an choice to petrol. Of course, at double the worth. There is extra logic to this transfer than that. Given the dismal volumes in India for EVs, it is smart to unfold the mounted value of car improvement – R and D, sheet steel dies, homologation et al – over bigger variety of automobiles. This approach, you may have EVs that do not burn the trousers together with the customers’ pockets. Platform sharing appears to be like to be the approach ahead for everyone.
The best method to do a coronary heart transplant in a petroleum car, is to make use of the engine area for the motor and related electronics – and the area for the gasoline tank for the battery. And that is precisely what Tata has executed. Tesla has its battery pack operating all alongside the flooring, however then Tesla is a ground-up EV. Interestingly, the greater battery floor space of the Tesla additionally presents a hearth hazard – as there have been incidents the place Teslas have flamed up by items of steel mendacity on the highway. The new Tigor will get a 22 kWh battery, which is up from the 16 kWh one earlier. The 30 kW motor does an enough job of dealing with regular city visitors. The battery is a prismatic LFP pack. Heart transplants include their very own negative effects. What a petroleum car DNA engineer nonetheless doesn’t perceive, is how necessary the battery, aka gasoline tank, in an electrical car is. Imagine designing a Tigor sized car with a scooter gasoline tank – that is the scenario with EVs immediately. And in such a scenario each drop counts. So effectivity is the identify of the sport – and never the brute drive effectiveness – which Tata’s ERC has been used to, of their greater than 50 years of engine constructing. The first rule of effectivity is to journey gentle. I roam round the county with a backpack – and the size of the journey doesn’t matter – so long as I get to do my laundry on a regular basis. On the identical strains, frugality must be the DNA with EV design. How to get the most out of each Watt-hour of vitality saved in the battery. And we hope that the Nano classes of frugality haven’t been forgotten by the Tata Motors crew.
Here are the low hanging fruit for upping effectivity. Low rolling resistance tyres, that are a wee bit over inflated to get extra juice out of the battery pack. TML crew knowledgeable us that the tyres do have lesser resistance – however I couldn’t see the Toyota Prius type of treads in them. The air-con requires about four kW energy. For a 75 kW petrol car it’s simply 5% of output, however for an electrical it’s greater than 10%. The identical cooling unit additionally has to do a job of cooling the battery pack – and that is necessary – as batteries don’t like being on the fallacious facet of 40 diploma Celsius. The distinction in inside temperatures in white car parked in the solar, when contrasted to a black one parked for the identical variety of hours, will be as a lot as 5 diploma Celsius. No marvel, most Tigor Electrics bought are white. My recommendation to future EV consumers could be, it doesn’t matter what the coloration of your cash, however let your EV be white!
And now coming to the excessive hanging fruit – weight. Here is my estimate of the weight break-up of the Tigor EV.
Battery Pack – 215 kg
Motor and drive practice – 85 kg
Body Shell – 300 kg
Steering and Suspension – 150 kg
Seats, Dashboard et al – 150 kg
Electronics and cabling – 150 kg
Air conditioning and Cooling – 100 kg
Tyres, together with stepney – 80 kg
A complete of 1200 kg – which is about the identical as the petrol / diesel variants. The underlying philosophy being that if the weight stays the identical, the dealing with would stay the identical. Maybe we will query this philosophy. Maruti, in spite of everything, has grow to be market chief in India, as a result of it is automobiles are usually lighter than competitors – with in fact, the concomitant enhance in gasoline effectivity. Government has taxation norms for petrol/diesel automobiles based mostly on the size of the car. For EVs the slabs needs to be weight based mostly – in order that relative vitality guzzlers like the tremendous heavy Teslas – if and once they come into the Indian market – find yourself paying the highest taxes. The best factor in weight is to do away with the spare tyre. Not joking! The Mahindra E2O was really bought in European markets with no spare wheel – and the frunk (the entrance boot) really had a fish basket. And in addition – the Tigor proprietor would additionally get extra boot area. But coming again to heavier points – the exterior panels are the costliest – and it will not make sense to the touch them. But the inside sheet steel will be checked out. With lesser load in the engine compartment, there might be some weight saving prospects there. Since the car runs smoother, and would sometimes not be a rural off roader, there will be extra weight financial savings in the suspension too. I imagine TML is working on lowering weight in the cab space – we imagine that the seats of the newer Tigor are lighter. What prevents extra investments in weight discount is the uncertainty about volumes. Group chairman Chandra is prepared with investments, proviso to gross sales occurring. Chicken and egg. The goal needs to be to get the Tigor weight all the way down to lower than a ton.
The different variable that performs a call in car shopping for, particularly EVs, is preliminary value. The operating value at 1 Rupee a km is a wow ingredient. But the preliminary spend of 13 lakh + is a dampener. The greens would love this worth – and the excellent news for the greens is that the car is now out there for particular person homeowners. However, with FAME subsidies not being given to people, it will be a good suggestion for revolutionary accountants to give you monetary jugaads which may give firm homeowners the cloak of changing into a fleet proprietor – and get the subsidy. We don’t actually count on TML to endorse this conduct, which is on borderlines between good and dangerous ethics. But the moral issues would get sorted out when a fleet proprietor leases the automobiles to people or corporations. The different benefit of leasing an electrical is that it de-risks the proprietor, as she doesn’t have to fret about upkeep. My recommendation to TML could be to start out the leasing service itself. Why let aggregators take away a market – and make a commodity out of cars. The belief in the Tata model will make a lease from Tata simpler for customers to purchase. Till date, business banks have been fearful of lending loans for EV purchases, not being too positive of what the residual values of the automobiles are going to be. Auto producers now have to put cash the place their mouth is – and inform customers by their actions about the belief they’ve in the automobiles they’re constructing. We have seen that occuring with Revolt in the electrical bike area – and the glorious response it has acquired from the market. Time for an encore in automobiles, TML! Jugaad apart, most of our desi sensibility loves seeing extra inexperienced in the pocket than exterior of it. The battery pack is the greatest value driver of EVs. My guess is that we’re battery vitality storage prices of about 500 $ per kWh. So there goes 11,000 {dollars} or Rs. eight lakh straight. Battery swapping has potential to decrease this value. If swapping can occur in the identical time {that a} fleet driver spends at a CNG pump, then we’re good. We will nonetheless want an actual life vary of 100 km – as we count on a fleet proprietor to drive round 200 km a day. The authorities generally is a big enabler over right here. The crucial in battery swapping is requirements. And right here is the place the babus appears to have adopted a wait and watch mannequin. Even easier stuff like charging ports haven’t been standardised – as the babus anticipate the extra developed nations to actually, take cost.
In the good previous days of petrol automobiles, the Americans would provide big variety of engine choices. Maybe the time has come, to supply an enormous variety of battery choices in the Tigor EV. Batteries, being modular, work on a special paradigm. Economies of scale occur at the module stage. And once more, if corporations get collectively to outline these commonplace modules, everybody stands to win on this cooperative-competitive sport. Most people and small fleet homeowners wouldn’t be investing in the excessive present quick charging infrastructure. It takes 11 hours to do a full cost with sluggish charging for the Tigor EV. A type of boundary line for in a single day charging. One shudders when one thinks of the 18 hours it takes to cost the 35 kWh Hyundai Kona on sluggish cost. But then with a 452 km vary (ARAI determine), you are able to do a cost each Sunday. One extra choice that may be provided in the Tigor EV is with out capacity for quick charging. Am positive it will shave off a lakh from the worth. And now that I’m on it, my suggestion could be to shift the sluggish charging port to the facet – with much more area to drag out jammed charging ports. Like in Volvo buses, you may have hoses that go into the gasoline tank from either side, the firm can have a look at having the sluggish and quick charging ports on both facet of the car – in the identical slot as the gasoline tank flap. Combined with a decrease battery dimension, the magic determine of sub 10 lakh might be reached for the private car person. To finish; would I purchase this car? Hmmm… Real life vary is about 150 km. Now for E2O customers who’ve lived with 100 km vary, to not point out Reva customers who lived with 60, 150 is certainly a step up. If we have a look at typical city drive cycles, most are lower than 100 km. So in a way, the Tigor will meet your week day wants. So if you’re already an E20 person, who has discovered the E20 to be becoming in your drive cycle, and there’s one other ICE car in the storage, then do check drive the Tigor ASAP; this might be E20 substitute. But if the EV goes to be your single car, and you intend to do lengthy drives on weekends, vary anxiousness can occur. A bit of chicken tells me that the Tata Nexon EV launch is only some months away. And with a worth differential of some extra lakh – and a variety distinction of greater than 100 km – weekend drivers, wait and watch!

Good Saturday morn, and welcome to the …
I have two fun things planned for today. First, this may come as a big surprise to you, but Filosofa is a big lover of critters! Shocked, aren’t you?
Wildlife Photographer of the Year is the largest wildlife photography competition in the world. It is an annual international wildlife photography competition owned by the Natural History Museum. The first competition was held in 1964, with three categories and around 600 entries. By 2008, the competition had grown to over 32,000 entries from 3100 photographers in 82 countries!
There are far too many for me to post here, so I have picked only a few of my favourites this year, but your can see more of the winners at Bored Panda, if you’re interested.
This first one is the #1 winner, titled “The Moment”, and taken by Yongqing Bao of China.
This Himalayan marmot was not long out of hibernation when it was surprised by a mother Tibetan fox with three hungry cubs to feed. With lightning-fast reactions, Yongqing captured the attack – the power of the predator baring her teeth, the terror of her prey, the intensity of life and death written on their faces.
“Bee Line” by Frank Deschandol of France
Bees buzzed in the long grass around the lake as evening fell. To Frank’s delight, they were settling down in little rows along the stems. These were solitary bees, probably males, gathering for the night in suitable resting places, while the females occupied nests they had built nearby.
“Land Of The Eagle” By Audun Rikardsen of Norway
Audun carefully positioned this tree branch, hoping it would make a perfect lookout for a golden eagle. He set up a camera trap and occasionally left road-kill carrion nearby. Very gradually, over the next three years, this eagle started to use the branch to survey its coastal realm. Audun captured its power as it came in to land, talons outstretched.
“Lucky Break” By Jason Bantle of Canada
A raccoon poked her head out of an abandoned car and paused to assess her surroundings, allowing Jason just enough time to use a long exposure in the twilight. The back seat was an ideal den for the raccoon and her five cubs as the only entrance – through a blunt-edged hole in the glass – was large enough for her but too small for predators such as coyotes.
“Portrait Of A Mother” By Ingo Arndt, of Germany
When you are eye to eye with a wild puma,’ says Ingo, ‘excitement is guaranteed.’ Tracking these elusive cats on foot meant lugging heavy gear long distances, often in freezing temperatures and unrelenting winds. Mutual respect gradually earned him the trust of a female and her cubs, allowing him to capture this intimate family portrait.
“Cool Drink” By Diana Rebman of the U.S.
Despite the bitterly cold temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius, Diana spent hours mesmerised by what she described as the ‘well-choreographed dance’ of a group of long-tailed tits taking turns to peck at an icicle. With the fast movement of the birds and her fingers feeling like blocks of ice, capturing their behaviour was no easy task.
“If Penguins Could Fly” By Eduardo Del Álamo of Spain
A gentoo penguin flees for its life as a leopard seal bursts out of the water. Eduardo was expecting it. He had noticed the penguin resting on a fragment of broken ice and watched the seal swim back and forth. ‘Moments later, the seal flew out of the water, mouth open,’ he says.
“The Huddle” By Stefan Christmann of Germany
More than 5,000 male emperor penguins huddle on the sea ice, backs to the wind, heads down, sharing body heat. ‘It was a calm day,’ says Stefan, ‘but when I took off my gloves to focus the lens, the cold felt like needles piercing my fingertips.’ Antarctic winters are fierce, with temperatures below minus 40 degrees Celsius.
“Big Cat And Dog Spat” By Peter Haygarth of the United Kingdom
In a rare encounter, a lone male cheetah is set upon by a pack of African wild dogs. At first the dogs were wary, but as the rest of their 12-strong pack arrived their confidence grew. They began to encircle and probe the big cat, chirping with excitement. It was all over a few minutes later, when the cheetah fled.
“Night Glow” By Cruz Erdmann of New Zealand (in the age 11-14 category)
Cruz was on a night dive with his dad when he saw a pair of bigfin reef squid in the shallow water. One swam off but Cruz quickly adjusted his camera and strobe settings, knowing that the opportunity was too good to miss. He shot four frames of the remaining squid before it too disappeared into the inky blackness.
“Face Of Deception” By Ripan Biswas of India
Ripan was photographing a red weaver ant colony when he spotted this slightly strange individual. It may have the face of an ant but its eight legs give it away – on closer inspection Ripan discovered that it was an ant-mimicking crab spider. By reverse mounting his lens, Ripan converted it to a macro capable of taking extreme close-ups.
Some pretty awesome shots there, don’t you think?
And my second surprise … you all remember Steve Irwin, aka the Crocodile Hunter? He hosted a television series that aired on Animal Planet, becoming the network’s highest-rated series at the time (1997-2004).
Steve tragically died in Batt Reef, Australia, in 2006 when a stingray’s barb pierced his heart. But, his children, Bindi and Robert, are both lovers of wildlife and conservationists. Bindi is an Australian television personality and conservationist. When she was 9, she hosted Bindi the Jungle Girl, a children’s wildlife documentary TV series. Son Robert is an Australian television personality and wildlife photographer. He hosts Robert’s Real Life Adventures, a program on his family’s zoo’s internal TV network. He co-hosted the Discovery Kids Channel TV series Wild But True and co-created the book series Robert Irwin: Dinosaur Hunter, and currently stars on the Animal Planet series Crikey! It’s the Irwins with his mother, Terri, and sister, Bindi.
In February 2017, young Robert, then age 13, made his late-night television debut when he appeared on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. This clip will warm your heart, make you say “Awwwwww”, and make you laugh, all at once. Who could ask for anything more? And my youngest reader, Benjamin, will enjoy this, for one of his Hallowe’en costumes was the Crocodile Hunter!

And that’s all I’ve got for this morning, my friends! Go forth and have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy every minute … remember, Monday is lurking right ‘round the corner!
Saturday Surprise — Wildlife and … Crocodile Hunter Junior! Good Saturday morn, and welcome to the ...I have two fun things planned for today. First, this may come as a big surprise to you, but Filosofa is a big lover of critters!

In addition to sand dunes that are called ‘ergs’ and make up one fifth of the desert, there are rocks and taluses. There are even mountains as high as 3 thousand meters.
Situated at the South America, the Amazon Basin is the land around Amazon River. Rain forests grab the most attention in this basin. As long as 6 thousand 400 kilometers, this river is one of worlds longest and this resource is considered as the world’s oxygen source with its rain forests. The forests house thousands of plant and animal species, a number of local communities live in these forests.
Derived from ‘neilos’ (‘river bed’) in Greek River Nile was called as iteru’ (big river’) in Ancient Egypt. World’s longest river Nile has a length of 6 thousand 650 kilometers, flows in Africa and its basin covers one tenth of the continent. There are nine African countries within the basin. Ending its delta with all its fertility in Egypt, this big river meant life for the Ancient Egyptian civilization. Today it is still important for Egypt by means of watering, electricity generation and transportation.
Composed of more than 17 thousand islands Indonesia is the fourth most populated country of the world, also the most Muslim populated one. Jakarta is the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia.

This beautiful country, at the southeast of Australia is composed of two big and many small islands. Wellington is the capital city. This country on the Southern Hemisphere has a mild weather temperature. Warmest season in summer is in January and February. Best time to run away from the cold weather of the Northern Hemisphere.
About 30 million people inhibit in this region where minus 40 Celsius degrees is felt, that is as big as 13 million square meters, from Ural Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. There are many Turkish ethnicities such as Yenisei, Altai, and Sayan Turks on these lands of the Russian Federation…
Close to Irkutsk city, this wonder of nature is called as the ‘Blue Eye of Siberia’. Known as the world’s deepest lake, it is also guessed that the lake is geologically around 30 million years old, Freshwater seals inhabit in the Lake which comprises 20 percent of world’s drinking water.
