Dortmund Deathfest@JunkYard, 02.+03.08.2024

Obwohl mir schon der Kackstift ging, da ich mich nach der Arbeit auf eine einigermaßen pünktliche Bahn verließ, habe ich es doch geschafft zu Massacre und hätte mich auch noch an den jakas ergötzt, wäre die Halle nicht derart voll, dass man sich kaum reinzwängen konnte. Zumindest sagten die, die da waren, dass die Jakas wieder ordentlich gerockt haben. Aber legen wir den Fokus doch auf Massacre, die mit komplett neuem Line-Up (bis auf einen etwas fülliger gewordenen Frontmann Kam Lee) 33 Jahre "From Beyond" zelebrierten. Ein Album, das ich als eins der Meisterwerke der Death-Metal-Szene ansehe. Und bei dem Ansturm von - auch jüngeren - Fans scheine ich mit dieser Meinung auch nicht alleine dazustehen. Es wurde also gnadenlos das Album durchgespielt und die erste Reihe, in der auch ich stand, deutlich begeistert. Anschließend noch den neuen Gitarristen getroffen, der ein wenig angepisst war, dass die Klampfe mal zwischendurch ausfiel. Wir fanden es trotzdem geil, und die Besucher kamen auch aus der ganzen Welt. So sagte bspw. eine Frau aus New England, dass sie für Konzerte schon durch ganz Europa gejettet sei, es ihr hier aber am besten gefiel. Juhu, endlich mal ein Lob an die Homebase. Während ich mir dann die äußerlich gealterten Incantation zu Gemüt führte, fiel mir zuerst die Dekadenz eines Prpgrammheftes ins Auge. Zu Blood Red Throne, die ich jedoch schon letztes Jahr positiv mitgenommen habe, war ich diesmal zu spät. Jenny und Seb von Metal Tremonia schwärmten jedoch sichtlich. Nicht nur über die tolle Musik, sondern auch die Hilfe durch JunkYard-Mitarbeiter bei einem Ladies-Problem. Auch Skeletal Remains haben schon früh für Stimmung gesorgt. Punkt 22 Uhr beendeten Black Dahlia Murder den Abend bis auf eine Grindcore-Band indoor, die nochmal für die ganz Verrückten loslegte. Habe BDM kaum als Headliner eingestuft, wie es auch am nächsten Tag bei Terrorizer der Fall war, aber die waren doch überraschend gut, wenngleich die echten Higlights an beiden Tagen bereits um 17 Uhr auf der Bühne standen. Viele meckerten ohnehin über das nicht so tolle Line-Up im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Somit hatte ich am Folgetag auch am meisten Spaß bei Memoriam, der Band von Karl von Bolt Thrower und Frank von Benediction. Mit supercoolen Moves und Schuhen, die ein wenig aussahen, als hätten sie darauf abgespritzt, waren auch Cumbeast aus Finnland ein Hingucker. Suffocation waren auch ganz gut, aber haben einen auch nicht vom Hocker gerissen. Bei Gut Rectomy wurde mit Schwimmnudeln im Kreis gerannt, was meine Begleitung simpel mit "De-Evolution" betitelte und Terrorizer hatten leider einen dumpfen Sound, aber auch Jesse hat gefehlt. Dennoch ein übelst geiles Festival, auf das man sich auch im nächsten Jahr wieder freuen kann. Der Eintrittspreis ist speziell an der AK gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber es macht Spaß!

10- Hmmm, that's actually a really good question- I would say... yeah actually, probably? it definitely depends on the time of day lol, but I can feel Big Things every now and again, but often not little things? i don't actually know lol, emotions are something i've pondered on a lot, cuz sometimes i feel a lot sometimes i don't- i would say that there is an almost unceasing little background emotion of joy/appreciation/love that rarely leaves me though c: kinda a tough one to answer, i hope that made sense :0!

Ok so I put all the infodumping below the cut… The majority is about names…

Yeah… I’m kinda writing a book lol

I started it when I was a kid and have been developing it ever since, but I recently began taking a fiction writing class and started actually going for it XD

Scrunklewife’s real name… ok so when I first started this story I was like 12 maybe and I named him Benedict, or Ben! But as I designed the story I kinda wanted the names to have a more Gaelic feel, and Benedict is a Latin name XD

so I might go with something like Coire, or Coran (the most favored candidate lol), or even Corin, but I can’t really decide since I’m so used to calling him Ben… oh, also, fun fact: he and the redhead are the same person! I’m just uncertain about his design lol.. Here are some alternatives I drew a while back on my phone!

Ok tbh I really can’t decide anything about him…

Alright then the first guy, saying “what is life,” is gonna be either called Brien or Ansel, and lemme just say he is the most unstable of the “good guys” XD so yeah he just has a lot of existential crises all the time…

the second girl, who coughs a lot and then dies… well I started by calling her Rose, but I don’t know if it fits anymore lol

and the coughing and then dying is a foreshadowing of her fate and it’s kinda spoilers, but no she does not die of the coughing XD

the next character, saying “murder..”

weellll I’m stuck between her being either French inspired or sort of eastern… (she’s supposed to be kinda an immigrant to the island my story is centered in) I originally called her Teresa, which is pretty French, but I don’t know that I want to keep that name…

anyways, she is saying “murder” because she has a very feisty and aggressive personality, and is not afraid to beat people up XD

Ok and finally the girl in blue, the one I did a big version of her face, is Anna! I never had any problems with her name XD

she’s kinda the main character but also not at all, and she’s actually the “what is life” guy’s long lost sister XD

Ok then that is it!! My not exactly asked for infodumping spree is at an end! For now….

For all the company’s flaws, it’s encouraging to see how the New Series BF audio have been relatively inclusive in picking their writers. I mean, it’s certainly not ideal and it could be improved A LOT, but when you see how dismal the representation can be in BF (like ... you’ve seen the MR?), it’s encouraging.

This is what I mean by fake fans. That story about him accidentally poisoning himself already gets spammed neatly every day, seemingly more so when a certain someone is not happy. Now, here is a known fan page Jilldar, that also constantly posts Benedict videos on YouTube to profit, posting the same story yesterday. If it is true that Hunter and her allies tried to poison Benedict several times, then you know what this is; what both tweets are.

You all didn't know even celebrities could get subtle death threats in this manner? Neither did I, until all of this came to light. That is why I keep telling people these so-called fan pages aren't real. They are working for someone but it is not Benedict. A caring fan would not remind him of almost dying.

Update:

There have been times in the past that Benedict entered into benefits, charities or activities with good intentions only for those actions to be used against him. Anything to make him look stupid. Sophie Hunter must be fit to be tied. Also desparate for attention to actually have a troll tweet out one of her dismal performances.
