Childe often goes to the city to pick up supplies, as you can't wander into a crowd without getting accused of impersonation- he's seen the scars etched over your skin, the lines of starry blood from blades and burns. so even with the cloth mask you always wear, he doesn't push you to venture into any big cities or villages. you are the Creator, after all, and Childe- Ajax- wants you to be as happy as possible. besides, it's always the perfect opportunity to catch wind of any news floating around, both from his subordinates and chatter on the street. the Eleventh Harbinger is oddly quiet nowadays, completing his work in silence and deep thought, yet the agents of the Fatui swear they can see a faint sparkle in his deep blue eyes.

it's during one of his outings that Ajax notices that he has a shadow- a small, fuzzy shadow, a kitten trotting after him as he goes around doing his weekly errands. the tiny thing is determined keep following him, even though one of his steps is practically an entire journey to it, and after the kitten trails after him to every shop he visits, Ajax simply scoops it up in one hand and carries it with him. it clambers onto his shoulder and makes itself comfortable, periodically mewing and nudging his cheek. Foul Legacy is going mad trying to stay silent in the back of Ajax's head, trilling and chirping in delight at the new adorable friend.

you're equally as delighted when Ajax brings the kitten home, gasping and reaching out as he gently sets it in your hands- and just in time, as Foul Legacy takes over their shared body, nuzzling up to you and chittering very quietly so he doesn't scare the cat. he watches your every move and reaction, the warm smile on your face after all that you've suffered making his heart melt. your newfound friend meows, high pitched and squeaky, kneading biscuits against your scarred palms as Legacy gently pulls you into his lap and purrs deeply along with the tiny kitten's buzzing.

the Creator, an Abyssal monster, and their fluffy companion- now all you need to do is think of a name.

Childe would unironically make a really good Warrior of Light

Like, okay, not only does he get to fight a bunch of ever increasingly powerful enemies (such as several angry deities, an extra powerful combo machine of said deities, dragons almost as old as the star itself, SEVERAL ACTUAL GODS and then some!) but he also gets to team up with a group of (mainly) strong warriors that you KNOW he'd be just dying to spar with (also you can't tell me he wouldn't take one look at the twins and go 'my siblings now').

He's also very loyal, so once he's in with the Scions he is IN ya know? Like he would kill and die for them no questions asked. They're also not really bound by law so he can do whatever he wants and what is the law gonna do? Arrest him? THE Warrior of Light? Don't think so.

(Also if he ever met Zenos all hell would break loose. The entire region is decimated and it's a miracle there even is a region left to begin with. They'd be the best worst rivals in existance and it would be everyones problem)

They'd probably know beforehand that Keegan is on the same task force as Logan's dad but at the same time I can't let go of how funny it'd be if they DIDN'T so that "first meeting" in the woods they're just trying to pretend like they don't know each other and don't be smooching on the reg. Hesh be wondering what the fuck the tension be so thick for and Logan is BATTLING with himself to not pop Keegan on the ass whenever his back it to him.

Also you probably mean that they're STILL together by the time Logan and Hesh become Ghosts but I propose the HILARIOUS idea that Logan+Keegan dated and then BROKE UP prior to the brothers joining the task force. Worse than them just dating, they're EXES! And they have to work togther! I'm in stitches over the mere idea.

Imagine if Keegan was low key bitter about the breakup too. It wasn't a bad breakup, they weren't pissed at each other, they just weren't working out. Logan is "Over it" (supposedly) but Keegan still got feelings and is upsetti spaghetti because he wanted them to work out. (Oooo, right person wrong time trope? Then right person right time. anyway putting aside how its not even ooc or "beneath him" at all for childe to mock and provoke people in general irregardless of whether he holds any particular distaste or malice towards them.

what i think this thumbs down denial debate debacle highlighted in general is how a bunch of people seem to have completely misunderstood why childe as a character tends to respect those he considers fellow warriors? like. ppl making these "oh its a call for help" "oh hes pointing at the narwhal for 'take it out'" "its a diving signal for down" "hes referring to himself going down" bc there was just No Way he couldve been mocking respectable and powerful neuvillette. just straight up seemed to have been under the impression that any powerful and combat capable individual past a certain power level automatically receives higher regard from childe when its... not the case at all? quite the opposite even.

like take him shittalking the other harbingers 24/7. its not like hes stupid hes absolutely going to be aware of the power differential between himself and some of the higher ranked ones (at least for the time being; after all hes always getting stronger). yet hes STILL delivering that diss track on the regular when nobody asked because power alone isnt what makes someone worthy of respect to him! its having that power AND taking a honest fucking fight with it as opposed to scheming and dirty tactics. thats why he cant fucking stand the majority of the harbingers. he respects a select few and in terms of high regard specifically as fellow warriors its arguably Literally just capitano and the tsaritsa herself. like if anything its completely plausible to me that childe might have even more disdain for the most powerful of his fellow harbingers since they COULD be fighting like real respectable people (to him) but still choose their shadowy machinations.

so like theres absolutely no reason why neuvillette simply by virtue of being oh wow so strong will somehow automatically gain childes respect especially when literally all he did was backstab him? sure thats a feat by itself and neuvis clearly fast and powerful but thats literally the OPPOSITE of what childe considers respectable conduct for a warrior.

like sure if neuvi somehow agrees to an all out apology spar to make up for the whole fontaine mess then its a different deal weve seen childes tendency to instantly forgive and resume friendly relationships with both traveler and zhongli after getting a good fight for it but like. childe at the point when the thumbs down happens has absolutely no reason to think particularly highly of neuvillette at all lmao. guy declares him guilty on clearly nonsensical grounds against his own personal judgement (& childes v big on committing to your own values too so thats ANOTHER no-no) of the disappearances case because a machine told him to, then ambushes him and now as the crisis reaches its peak is in the process of completely failing at holding the narwhal back for even a brief moment when childes been doing that for 40+ DAYS nonstop and already way past his limit yet STILL manages to rescue the civilians neuvi wouldve just helplessly watched get eaten.

There was a joke in the Wriothesley Not-Birthday arc that didn't make the cut but it basically was someone being like "YOU WERE SKINNY??" when looking at Sigewinne's toddler pictures with her dad (Neuvillette is the one taking them, obviously). And Wriothesley is like "I was in the hospital for like a month. No shit."

Childe has always been the tough one between the two of you. how could he not be, with his status as the most battle-hungry Fatui Harbinger? despite countless sighs and lectures from you, he continued to sneak into your home at night, covered in bruises and scratches but smiling as bright as the dawn when you emerged with medical supplies. so why, why were you the one now confined to your bed from injuries, having gotten thrown across a field by a particularly irritated mitachurl? you hadn't visited for a few days and Foul Legacy was becoming frantic in Childe's head, urging him to check on you only to find you sitting quietly in your bed, several patches of bandages peeking out under your clothes. Foul Legacy chitters anxiously in Childe's head as he rushes over and takes your hands in his, treating you like glass- which you might as well be, with how delicately and slowly you're moving. you smile and apologize for not coming out to meet him, but Childe simply shakes his head and watches your thumbs gently rub the back of his hands, trying to comfort him even though you're the one in pain. you must've moved wrong, in that next moment, because suddenly you wince. something in Foul Legacy cracks and in a blink he's snatched control over Childe's body, transforming before your eyes to tentatively cup your face in his hands. Foul Legacy's not used to caring for someone- Childe uses him more to slaughter enemies and feel the rush of battle- but he wants to care for you, and does his best to bring you anything you need whether it be food, water, books- and when he's not pampering you he'll snuggle up beside you, purring contently and watching you read. you're taking this rather well for someone who's only seen Foul Legacy a few times, even letting your guard down enough to lay your head on his fluff and fall asleep. or at least, he think you're letting your guard down. for you, there was no guard to begin with. if you ever try to get up before you're healed, Foul Legacy freaks out and gently tugs you back into bed, whimpering frantically. he'll rest his head lightly on your stomach- as long as it doesn't hurt much- and rumble quietly until you fall back asleep, your hand buried in his hair. if you simply insist on going outside for some fresh air, he'll carry you! you fit so perfectly in his arms, after all, and there's no point in straining your already injured body. when you're finally able to walk on your own again, Foul Legacy chirps with such delight you think he might cry. you can't walk very far, but the radiant smile you give him when you stumble into his arms says more than words ever can.
