Silly Our Life AU Stuff: My Girlfriend is a Witch But I’m Just a Marine Biologist!!!
So, since my beloved husband @factionfighter dropped some very cute art of Cove using magic on Twitter (in addition to the mock cover he already did for this totally off-the-cuff AU we’ve been playing around with), I thought I’d indulge us both–and anyone who is interested–with some quick snapshots and vignettes.
I may make this a little series. We’ll see.
[NEXT POST]
How Sai and Cove Met
Instead of growing up with Sai across the street as his favorite neighbor, he had Kana instead. He and Kana always maintained a tight brother-sister relationship, and Kana had finally pinned down Derek to be her boyfriend (and drill into Derek’s thick skull that really had loved him for a decade). Shortly after Kana and Derek officially became a couple, he moved in with Cove and Kana into their rather large apartment.
By contrast: Cove had dated a little bit during college–more out of a curiosity than any deep longing. Having a companion was nice but things tended to fizzle when the other person would ramp things up and want more sensuous meetups. Despite his best efforts, Cove couldn’t quite manage going all the way–because no matter how much he liked his partner, he wasn’t as deeply connected to them as he was to, say, Kana or any of his other friends. He wished he could, but knowing how his brain worked and how demisexuality really did suit him, he couldn’t fully give in.
But that didn’t mean Cove didn’t have a fulfilling life otherwise. At 26, life was pretty good! He was a marine biologist at ORCA, he taught surfing classes during the summer (usually on the weekends), and he had a good group of friends and family.
Then one day in late May, just as spring winds were turning summery and warm, Sai moved into the apartment across the hall. Cove, Derek, and Kana had spotted her as they were coming home from a food run to In-N-Out.
In addition to wearing jean shorts, strappy flat sandals, and a halter-style tank top, Sai wore silver jewelry on her wrists and ankles, rings on her fingers, multiple earrings, and a single silver star necklace. The jewelry made a perfect complement to her white hair and gray eyes. It also made her impossible to miss.
While Kana and Derek exchanged comments about the beautiful new neighbor, Cove found himself studying her like she had just walked out of the ocean. She was fascinating.
And then Sai turned to the three of them and smiled. When they were in reach, she juggled a small cardboard box onto her hip as movers hefted heavier items into her apartment, and held out her hand—to Cove first.
“Hi there. I’m Sai Aiza, and it looks like we’re going to be neighbors. I hope we can get along.”
Cove found himself gripping her small hand and gently shaking it, and then saying, “Hi, I’m Cove,” before his brain had caught up with the rest of his body and had a chance to process and panic.
Kana and Derek gave their cheerful greetings, and Sai shook their hands in turn. Sai was friendly, warm, and held something of a mysterious air to her. But at first, nothing seemed to be too different about her from any other human being.
Although, in Cove’s eyes, she seemed to shimmer. Just a little. But he kept that observation to himself.

My and @katkastrofa's multiverse of madness OCs and their attitude towards drinking/behaviour while drunk, inspired by one of comradekatara's recent posts
(Under the cut for obvious reasons)
Abyan – Doesn't drink. At all. Most likely tried once or twice as a young adult/older teenager and claims he didn't like the taste. In actuality he's seen what drinking does to his father and is terrified of becoming like him. As far as he's concerned, nothing good will ever come from alcohol
Aiza/Emran – They probably don't get the opportunity to drink too often as an Air Acolyte, but they do enjoy it on occasion. Always gets extra giddy and reckless when drunk, but if they cross a certain threshold, they quiet down and get rather sad, and it's very easy to make them start talking about their childhood and siblings.
Alasie – Will not drink of her own accord, but can indulge if with Malina and Ila, and even then limits herself to a glass or two since alcohol is far from her favourite thing in the world. Despite this, she is anything but a lightweight and doesn't act much different when she drinks. The brief warmth a drink brings is rather nice, though
Daneli – At first tries to match Shezan's hard drinking in order to impress her, but is quickly snapped out of it after Gulalai gives her a talking to. After that, she only drinks lighter stuff in small amounts to relax with the girls after a long night. Is an awful lightweight and gets extremely blushy and giggly when drunk, somehow always ending up in Qader's lap. Quits completely after adopting Kumisai
Gulalai – Drinks on occasion with the girls, has a preference for more expensive stuff due to her upbringing and stays away from the cheap but hard alcohol that's more common in the brothel. Buys her own alcohol if she has money to spare, doesn't drink otherwise. If she does get drunk... let's just say that Roheen isn't getting any peace for the next few hours
Haya – Rarely, if ever, can afford to buy alcohol, and the bar isn't her scene. Likely wouldn't be a drinker even if she had the money. Probably has a bottle of something cheap hidden away somewhere that she pulls out only when the grief gets unbearable, late at night after she sends the girls to their room, and not nearly enough to get inebriated. Drank in a tense but surprisingly comfortable silence with Suiren once
Himman – Alcoholic in denial who is making no attempts to quit, buys top of the line expensive stuff for show but really would get hammered on fucking moonshine if given the chance. Loses whatever remained of his inhibitions when drunk and becomes even more unbearable than he already is. Holds back enough when in public or in his palace to maintain his image but takes it out on brothel girls later. Endlessly rants about his frigid bitch of a wife the second a single drop of alcohol enters his system
Ila – Similar to Alasie, would only drink if Malina offered, but is absolutely unable to hold it down due to inexperience. Having a drink somehow makes her even more obsessed with Malina, she babbles on and on without a care and Malina would not be able to pull her off herself if the two of them were left alone (not that she wants to, but yk). The afterglow somehow aids in saving her from an awful hangover
Liba – Was less exposed to what drinking did to her father but is still none too keen on it. Was dared to try as a teenager when she was attempting to break out of the shell her upbringing forced her into, hated the burning feeling in her throat and swore off it ever since
(Ultimate AU) Lien-Hua – Wanted to try alcohol for years as a result of watching her siblings drink and wanting to feel grown up, and most likely got absolutely hammered once or twice during her rebellious phase after Suiren was born, but now drinks in moderation, just to have fun occasionally. Depending on the situation, the alcohol either relaxes her or makes her go wild
Malina – Drinks very little, only at fancy events and important dinners and the like, and only the really expensive stuff. But can indulge in case of a celebration, like one of her darlings' birthdays. Never uses it to lower anyone's inhibitions, though, and as a general rule doesn't invite downright drunk people into her bed. Ila is the only exception since Malina knows how much that girl loves her and how eager she always is
Meifeng – The Swamp tribes most likely don't even have that much alcohol apart from homebrewed moonshine-esque stuff, which she isn't too keen on, so she doesn't get the chance to drink even if she wanted to. Doesn't want to in the first place, she can't afford to go down with a hangover when she's one of the best healers in her tribe. There are too many people, mostly children, who rely on her, for that to happen
Mekhali – Drinks for fun, more so with the girls than with clients. Doesn't like getting completely shitfaced but enjoys the pleasant buzz of a few glasses, gets extra flirty as a result, as well as a dumbed down sense of humour – read as, laughs at pretty much anything. Will start telling ridiculous stories about clients whether they have eager listeners or not. Somedays, though, some other feeling rise to the surface, but they push them away and keep on being the life of the party
Midori – Doesn't like the taste of alcohol too much but will drink on occasion with her friends/family. Sometimes joins in on drinking games with a fond eye roll. Is the one person who makes sure everyone eats and drinks water to prevent hangovers. When drunk, depending on the severity and situation, either absolutely ravages Opal until she can barely walk the next day, or becomes very prone to crying, usually about how much she loves everyone around her rather than something trauma-related, though that can happen too
Phailin – Alcohol messes with her firebending so she usually abstains, but a rare glass here and there doesn't hurt. Impossible to rope into a game of any kind, however. A part of it is also that drunk clients are more likely to get handsy, so she's a bit averse to inebriated people, but will take care of the other girls when they're hangover, even if she chastises them for drinking in the first place
Qader – Can down a glass of hard liquor in one go with a completely straight face, but knows not to overdo it because she's embarrassed of what she's like when drunk. The persona she puts on falls away and she becomes extremely affectionate, hence why the cuddling with Daneli, whose eager baby queer self is all too happy to indulge
Roheen – Doesn't like mind altering substances since she takes immense pride in her intelligence, but can put on a very convincing drunk act. Sometimes pretending to be a lightweight mixed with her usual fake ditzyness and giggliness that she puts on for clients can end up getting her even more money, or scoring almost full leftover bottles to give to the other girls. Isn't respectful of hangovers and believes making them worse with noise or whatever will eventually get the others to stop drinking
Shezan – Self medicates with alcohol, among other things. Can drink a lot without feeling anything but the hangovers are brutal. Drinks more to ignore pain than anything else, but acts like she does it for fun and comes up with increasingly ridiculous drinking games that she almost always ends up winning. Most people don't buy her act but don't bother calling her out on it. They know she's well aware of what she's doing. Starts trying to cut back a little to be a better auntie for little Kumisai
Suiren – Would drink to forget a lot more often if she wasn't so hypervigilant and frantic about always being in control. Somehow, there is one good thing that came of out her upbringing, and that is that the trauma is keeping her from becoming an alcoholic. Enjoys going to bars a lot, both to drink and to pick up pretty girls. Depending on her mood, she can be a sad drunk, an angry drunk or a horny drunk, the latter happening most often when Kuvira decides a treat is in order and brings a bottle back from the market. Neither of them is sleeping that night. Won't shy away from a few glasses when celebrating something with her family either
Summiya – Used to drink like Malina did, only in formal settings, but feels much more drawn to it after her downfall. Anything to take her mind off what happened to her. The kind of liquor Shezan shares with her is hard to stomach after the expensive stuff she's been drinking her whole life and that's what keeps her from slipping away completely. As she heals and finds better coping mechanisms, she pulls herself together and only drinks for fun with friends. The clear memory of alcohol on Himman's breath certainly helps her keep herself in line
#no one asked for this lmao. I was just bored in school. read comradekatara's post re: the gaang and drinking. and thought fuck it. why not#this took me 5 hours and is unbearably long#and believe it or not. this is only half of all our OCs#I only did the ones I had a very clear idea for instead of struggling to come up with stuff for the others#if kat wants to/has the spoons for it she can fill in some of the others#the og red lotus and the fearsome foursome's parents are most of the ones I left out#along with zada and biyu. and also ehuang and kumisai since they only exist as kids for now#so.. yeah. hi kat. go wild if you want#I'm gonna go eat something bc this took up all of my mental energy#hope this is at least a little fun to read though :)#kat and nia and their multiverse of madness#original characters#I'm not tagging anyone there's way too many#and 90% of them don't even have proper tags anyway

"You can if you wish to. I don't know how long they'd last for, if they can last for a few days, I say go for it. If not, I am sure I can eat one a day or something.." Or hand them out to the other DoA members if he can't eat them by himself...
The man looked down at his phone and scrolled through his spotify, then proceeded to send a quick message to Aiza asking for a song.. All he really had was classical music he listened to, he had to broaden his music tastes....
Once the text was received, he proceeded to cock a brow at Aiza's suggestion. "I don't know any really poppy stuff.. But Aiza suggested this song," he said as he played it.
"I can make a couple with extra tuna for her. That's no problem. I keep a lot of it in the house." He didn't seem deterred. "If she doesn't like them, you can always snack on them for a few days. I won't be offended."
He blinked at the mention of music. "Hm...poppy stuff. Bouncy. Stuff with a lot of beats. Go ahead."

Oh boy, seems like there`s a lot of mentions about my reaction to the lesser twist of the arc- alright, let`s put them all here then I`ll give a better two cents on the situation, now that I had a bit more time to let it sink. This is going to be a long list, Let`s-a go!
Seems like the general consensus is against what I said. Alright, that`s fair, I can respect that, I didn`t claim to be right here, but even so, I still stand my ground that I don`t like it and don`t personally agree with it.
Now for my two cents:
Like I said, I didn`t liked it, I preferred as it was at first, because I feel like it doesn`t make sense in a consistency sense, and it messes with Aizawa`s character.
See, something like that would never remain a secret for long, and then Aizawa`s ruse would`ve been ruined. Kids tell stuff, and even if the kids at 1-A could maybe not know it before they got into the school (which is incredibly unlikely if the secret was to be ruined) the fact that they never heard anything about it later? I mean, if people got re-enrolled in U.A. then how did nobody knew that was what Aizawa was doing? If you see ten people on your class got expelled, then later that year, or maybe the following year, you see them at school I think your first reaction would be to go “yo what the fuck are you doing here you motherfuckers?”
But no, nobody ever questioned why some expelled students were back. And this was something that could`ve been easily fixed, if they foreshadowed it before, maybe by having someone joke about Aizawa expelling students when class 1-A talked about it, hell, even revealing that one before would been better than just bomb-dropping it like this, I would`ve preferred if that was the case, Aizawa could`ve even revealed it himself after Midoriya proved him wrong.
Which, now that I think about it, made that scene even weirder. Midoriya didn`t changed anything there, Aizawa would`ve expelled him, made him work harder and then re-enroll him if he proved himself. That`s it. The arc made it look like Midoriya really touched something in Aizawa`s core, showed him that he could be a hero regardless of his poor control over AfO, but no, all that he changed was that he didn`t lost a few months being “expelled”. Sure, that was a setback and would be a permanent stain on his record but... it is also kind of not a big deal? At all? That expulsion could`ve happened and the story wouldn`t end, and sure, they could`ve revealed that it was secretly a test of character back then, but they went 250 chapters before saying that? It makes it looks like it was a bit of retcon.
And I assume this was a retcon, because it`s something I see happening a lot: a character on the side of good can`t have negative traits by the looks of it, and Aizawa expelling students was a negative trait. Instead of making it seem like midoriya changed him by his determination and spirit of heroism, they just said “syke, Aizawa was always good and perfect all along, he never did anything bad this whole time”. I find this kind of a bummer, I like when characters have things that make me loathe them but that they actually work to correct rather than been brushed under the rug. Like, Bakugo was a character I despised as a person, but I liked that he actually is trying to change rather than go something that invalided his choices, like going “oh no, actually he was being mind-controlled by evil people, he was never really antagonistic to Midoriya, he is a hero after all”
I like when characters do messed up, almost dubious stuff because they are flawed human being. Aizawa expelling students that he didn`t see fit to be heroes was a cool and human trait of him that was deeply tied to his past. He was projecting into the kids, he feared that the past could repeat and he felt the most logic course of action was to keep them as far away from reaching that point. This is a flaw, this is something you can understand about him, something that make you go “I see what you meant Aizawa, but this is something that isn`t healthy”. The reveal makes the whole trauma of his past seem less impactful, because in lieu of it Aizawa still thought that he could get kids to straighten-up just by expelling them. He lost his best friend and his inspiration, and he feel like he was responsible of taking from the world such a bright hero, and then he said “I can replicate this feeling by expelling them, because this will make them feel what`s a death like”. I don`t buy it.
So, I never expected this to happen, especially after that last arc. Horikoshi stood his ground and said that although Endeavor, a hero with a dark past, was changed and that he realized the monstrosity of his actions, and acknowledging that he was responsible for so much pain, and the the very next arc he picked Aizawa, that although nowhere nearly on the same level, was still someone that had a dark past, and then just brushed it aside. And here`s the thing, he didn`t do that to Endeavor but did it to Aizawa because he`s drawing a clear line between good and evil. I thought that he was trying to blur it, to show that Endeavor`s good action now don`t erase his past, but his past is no reason for him to not strive to be good now, but now he just went “yeah, but that only applies to bad people. Good people like Aizawa are always doing only good things and have no grey actions whatsoever. See, only bad people feel the need to strive to be good, like the good people, that are morally perfect and spotless 110% of the time, got it kids? :)”. It feels like something that Furuhashi would do, no joke.
Oh it was good to take that out of my chest... But alas, this won`t change a thing, it`s done anyway, I won`t waste time complaining about it, it`s pointless, it won`t change a thing. It just my personal opinion about the subject, and it`s irrelevant on the grand scheme of things, specially when there`s other bombs waiting to be dropped right now.

Here's your mystery ask Aiza!!
2: Do you focus on attention to detail when you read fics? Are you more or less attention to detail focussed when you write fics?
i will mentally spellcheck fics as I'm reading, and i don't write without researching stuff as i go, so yeah i do focus on tiny details a lot. that being said, i post so many fics unedited it's actually unreal. like unless i've been working on it for months and/or have a beta i can guarantee that fic/chapter is not edited. sometimes i don't even read them over. this either works really well or really badly. perfectionism vs hatred of rereading my own work FIGHT
9: Are there any fics you’d love to see but don’t want to write yourself? What are they?
oh god. yes. so many. normally i don't think of them until i'm already reading them tbf, bc i'm too impulsive to say 'no don't write this' but like god i'd love to see some kind of exploration of actual gotham urban legends - like folktales and stuff - or more stupid sibling hijinks fics a la those multi-media/twitter fics that are so funny but idk how to write at all.
17: What has been the proudest moment for you so far since you started writing?
ngl every time someone is chatting to me and goes 'wait that was you??' about my fics i get a little thrill. it has happened several times now and it never gets old. but the proudest moment, for me, was probably when I did the charity auction thing. not bc i thought the fic was the best i'd ever written, but bc a) someone sought me out to write a fic, b) it did something good for the world and c) it was such a challenge to write outside of what i knew, on top of being the first time i'd written to a brief. it was a great experience all around.

@kiribak-uwu here’s the fic
Just to be clear I didn’t write this. I wish I had. This fic is a work of art. Two of my friends wrote this for me in exchange for an art piece/oneshot of their choice. I also didn’t make the cover art, one of my friends google searched a bunch of images and put them together. Also it had better grammar then it should. The same dude who did the cover art is a grammar god.
So without further ado, I present to y’all.
Count The Stars
You walked down the winding path that led out to the main road, practically shaking with excitement. Today was your first day at the prestigious UA high. You couldn’t believe that you would get a chance to sit in the very seats that those famous heroes once sat in. You heard that even the legendary All-Might would be a teacher there!
As you walked down the path, you heard something. It started as a small buzzing sound which was easily ignored as you just assumed it was a simple bee or fly going about its day. But as the buzzing became louder you began to worry. “Had someone left their phone here?” you thought. You decided it would be a fantastic idea to go towards the buzzing noise- a choice you would soon come to regret.
[more below the cut]
As you walked to the buzzing noise, the sound became so loud it was almost unbearable, however, none of this deterred you. Out of nowhere, you felt a strange tingling sensation flow throughout your body. Was it just you, or were the trees surrounding the path getting taller?
After about two minutes of watching the trees grow at a rapid pace, you finally realized your situation when comparing yourself to a blade of grass. You were about the same height as it, equal to the height of a pencil who had been slightly depleted of height from a multitude of sharpenings.
You tried to scream but then covered your mouth after hearing what your voice had sounded like. It was high pitched and squeaky. You sounded like you had just inhaled a giant tub of helium as a joke… But this was no joke. <It’s joke>
You found a nearby pebble and sat down on it to ponder your situation. “Ok <y/n>, what do we know? Right now I am about two inches tall and stuck in a forest. I could try to go back and get help and risk getting eaten by a stray wolf or even a slightly irritated spider. Or I could continue on the path down to the bus stop and see if anyone would take pity on me.” Despite the dangers of being stepped on, you chose the latter option.
You began running down the path. A walk that usually takes you five minutes ended up taking you thirty, but it was fine since the last bus had not left yet due to the fact that you like to be very early usually- and there it was. It was a lot bigger than you initially planned on, but you could make this work- until...
To your shock and horror, you saw the last two people you had ever wanted to see. One with light, almost white-blond hair, and the other with fiery red hair. Both were spiked beyond belief. You tried to hide, thinking that this should be easy considering your new height, but to no avail. Bakugou saw you and did a double-take. Kirishima looked in your direction to see what he was looking at before running over to you.
You tried running, but alas, being two inches tall made it difficult, if not impossible. Kirishima scooped you up in his hand and stared at you for an uncomfortable amount of time. “Y-You’re <y/n>, right?” He asked and Bakugou rolled his eyes. “Of course she is dumbass! I’d recognize that stupid hair from anywhere!” “Ok, but why is she two inches tall? Isn’t she usually, like, a giant?”
It’s true, your normal height reaches just above the 5’10” mark, about three inches taller than Bakugou, an achievement he had never forgiven you for.
“I’m not sure what happened but I heard a buzzing sound and when I approached it, I started shrinking!” you yelled as an attempt to be heard over the deafening traffic. Your attempt was a success as the two spiky-haired boys started laughing. Bakugou’s laugh was almost a cackle, while Kirishima’s was more normal.
“What is it?” You asked, hoping to locate the funny. “Y-Your voice!! I-It’s Hilarious!” Bakugou said, gasping for air through his laughter. “Ok, calm down,” You said trying to lower the pitch of your voice, to no avail. “Kirishima, please take me back to my house now?”
Kirishima looked concerned, “Is that really a smart idea? I mean yesterday you were complaining about how your parents wouldn’t be back home for another month.” You vividly remembered this. Your parents were both pro heroes so they often had to leave for months at a time for their work.
“It’s my house. I think I’ll be fine” You argued. “PFFT- You can’t even reach the doorknobs!!” Bakugou was practically dying on the ground from laughter.
“Bakugou’s right, I think we should tell Aiza-” “No! Don’t tell anyone!” You interrupted. You knew Kirishima had a point, but whether it was your pride or some fantasy you had buried deep down, you couldn’t allow him to reveal your secret.
Kirishima thought for a second while Bakugou’s bursts of laughter echoed through your brain. “Oh, I got it!” Kirishima said, his face lighting up like a light bulb. Before you could inquire about his plan, you had to dive to grab onto his thumb to keep from falling several inches to your death. Apparently, part of Kirishima’s plan was to run… somewhere with Bakugou following close behind.
When he finally stopped, the destination looked familiar. You had been here before on a study session with the bakusquad, or whatever the class had started called you and your friends. Either way, you knew for a fact that you were standing (or in this case holding onto Kirishima’s thumb for dear life) outside Kirishima’s house.
“Why are we here?” You asked. “Well, this is the first place I thought to go,” Kirishima replied, matter-a-factly. “I asked you to take me back to my house!” You yelled. “I had no way of getting in, it’s not like I have a key or anything!” Kirishima shot back. “Well, I have my key with me!” you said, triumphantly pulling out your house key which was now the size of a fat ant. “Yeah because that would work really well,” Bakugou chimed in.
You slumped your shoulders, tired of their constant rebutting. Bakugou walked into the house while Kirishima followed. The angry blond boy grabbed a bag of chips and sat down at a table as if nothing was wrong. Kirishima joined him at the table, gently setting you down.
“Ok, we need a plan!” Kirishima said. “A plan for what?” Bakugou asked and received a look from you and Kirishima as if to say; “Are you fucking serious right now?” “For the issue we have?” You started and then gestured to your small stature. “Does that look like my problem?”
You wanted to throw a punch at him. Maybe you could have beaten him yesterday, but now it would prove to be difficult.
“So, <y/n>, how did you even… you know,” Kirishima started. “I’m not totally sure,” You began to explain the buzzing noise you heard. “How could you be so stupid!?” Bakugou yelled. “What would compel you to go towards the strange noise?!” “I was curious, okay!? How was I supposed to know what would happen!? I thought it was a phone or something.” You tried to explain your side but Bakugou was having none of it.
“Stupid nerd” He spat. “Both of you, calm down. I know we can get through this!” Kirishima said, trying to lift your spirits. You smiled at him and while it didn’t do much to cheer you up, you appreciated the effort.
“I say we go back to where you first heard the buzzing noise,” Kirishima suggested. You nodded, although you doubted that you would get much of a say in the matter. Bakugou groaned but reluctantly stood up. “Fine. Let’s make this quick, I have stuff to do.” “I’m stuff,” Kirishima said cheekily as he scooped you up and you made your way back to your house.
The ride back to your house felt like it had gone on for hours. Even though you were two inches tall, Kirishima’s pocket was cramped. Not to mention, he had a strange bounce to his step, causing you to be pushed around repeatedly.
“Okay, we’re here,” Kirishima said. He picked you up and held you in his hand so you could see. You directed them back to where you had first heard the buzzing sound.
“It was right here,” You told them. “I don’t hear shit,” Bakugou said. “Well, I’m not sure what to say… It was right here!” You yelled. “Maybe whatever it was went away?” Kirishima said. “Of course it did! All of this was a waste of time, let’s go back,” Bakugou said, turning around.
“Hang on!” Kirishima said, putting a hand on Bakugou’s shoulder. He gestured to something on the ground. It looked like a coin, but not one you had ever seen before. Kirishima picked it up to give you a closer look. The coin had small bits of dirt on it from being on the path, but under that, it had a dark purple hue. On one side of the coin, there was an engraving of a scorpion and the other side was blank.
“Could this be a clue?” Asked Kirishima. “Could be. Maybe this belonged to whoever shrunk me!” You exclaimed. “It’s a damn coin! I doubt it had anything to do with us,” Bakugou said, crossing his arms.
“Well, should we give it to the police?” Kirishima shrugged. “No! To turn it in you have to tell them what happened to me!” You said, hoping Kirishima would respect your wishes.
“<y/n>… Maybe we should. If there’s a villain involved-” “Hell no!” Bakugou yelled, interrupting Kirishima. “If there’s a villain, we can take ‘em!” This seemed to get Kirishima in the mood because it threw his fist in the air. “You’re right!”
You didn’t really care for this exchange, but if it meant that you wouldn’t be revealed to the police, then you were happy it took place.
“Okay, if we aren’t taking this coin to the police, then what do we do with it?” Kirishima inquired. “What about Momo’s place?” You asked. “She has a huge library, maybe there’ll be some information?” “Good idea!” Kirishima said, giving a thumbs up. Bakugou looked like he wanted to protest, but he realized it would be pointless.
With you sitting cramped in Kirishima’s pocket, the three of you made your way to Momo’s mansion.
When you were finally taken out of Kirishima’s pocket, you looked around until your eyes landed on the giant mansion in front of you.
“Why are we stopped?” You asked. “Idiot, it’s because we’re supposed to be in school right now!” Bakugou growled, clearly not a fan of skipping classes.
“Oh…” All the excitement made you forget it was supposed to be your first day as a second year. “Oh well, I guess now we wait!” Kirishima said, not realizing how creepy it would look to see two high school boys standing outside a girl’s house, however, all you cared about was reaching your usual height again.
You and the two spiky-haired boys waited outside Momo’s house for the entire day, mostly just talking. You really got to know those two! As the sun began to dip below the city skyline, you saw a car start to pull into the driveway. From out of the car comes a group of people you are not happy to see. Piling out of the doors comes the rest of the Bakusquad: Denki, Momo, Sero, and Mina. They are all chatting and laughing, but fall silent after they see the look on Kirishima’s face. You try to hide deeper in his hands, hoping to save yourself the embarrassment of your new classmates recognizing you. This was not to be, however, as Denki immediately recognizes you.
“<y/n>! Hey! Why are you so small!” the sparky boy shouts. “Well… you see… Uh,” Kirishima tried to stutter out an excuse. “She was a massive idiot,” Bakugou eloquently explained. You sighed because you could not believe the buffoonery that was taking place. “The truth is, we’re not sure, but we did find this,” you gestured for Kirishima to hold up the coin which he did. “We were hoping that maybe Momo had some information in her library.”
“So are you saying that you were planning on reading every book in that massive library!?” Denki protested.
Momo began to inspect the coin for herself. “I do recognize this from somewhere…” She started, “Follow me.” Momo led the group into her house. You felt like you were in some elaborate labyrinth because of all the twists and turns. Your two-inch tall height didn’t help.
“Here it is!” Momo said, standing outside two large wooden double doors. As you entered, your jaw was agape. Hundreds, if not thousands of books littered the room. There was a large chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The windows were thin, but stretched to the ceiling of the room, allowing sunlight to stream in.
The whole group just stood in the doorway, not moving. Everyone was dreading the number of hours they would have to spend hunched over the thousands of books.
Before anyone could talk, Momo rushed to a seemingly random spot in the library. She dug through a pile of books in the corner until she pulled one out. It was blue, but the colour seemed to have faded over time.
“How did you-” Mina started. “I’ve read each book here twice. I know I saw something like that coin in here somewhere- Aha!” Momo exclaimed. She showed the group a page in the book. There was a picture of a dark purple coin. Kirishima compared the coin they had found in the woods. The two were practically identical.
“Well? What does it say?” Sero asked. “Hmm. Not much. This page is about five specific mishaps going on in a similar area. At each scene, investigators found the coin. They assumed it was some sort of calling card, but they never found the one actually responsible.”
“Damn investigators. I bet they overlooked everything!” Bakugou yelled. “So it was a villain who did this!” You said thinking out loud. “Yes, but this is probably a copycat case since these events took place over one hundred years ago,” Momo explained. “How could the same person still be alive?”
Katsuki replied, “Of course it is, idiot! No one lives that long!”
“Well, whatever it is, we gotta find something out!” exclaimed Eijiro. “At the very least, we should help out <y/n>!”
Sero shouted from the corner, “Oh yeah? Got any ideas? ‘Cause I don’t know anything about creepy magic shrinking.”
Kirishima replied, “Well, I may not know about changing size, but I do have some friends who know a little about size differences. Maybe they know how to deal with being tiny?”
“What? Who?” cried the blonde firecracker. “I don’t know anyone! Are you making friends without me?!”
“Actually, yes. I have a pen pal who lives in a city a couple of hours away from here. I chat with him all the time, maybe we should go see him!”
"Sure, maybe tomorrow."
Momo interjected, "Hey, what about school? You can't miss another day!"
"It's fine," Katsuki replied. "This is more important!"
Tomorrow!? You had to wait another day before you could return to your normal size. “What is it, y/n?” Mina could somehow see the worry in your eyes. “It’s nothing… tomorrow it is,” you lied. You didn’t want to burden the people who had gotten you this far.
“Okay, then it’s settled! Y/n, we’ll have you back to normal height tomorrow!” Kirishima said, pumping his fist into the air.
That night you couldn’t sleep. You were just staring up at the ceiling of Kirishima’s house. Bakugou had stayed over so you could leave as soon as possible, but he was up in Kirishima’s room, which was odd because there was only one bed.
You knew you needed sleep, Kirishima’s friend was hours away, but no matter how hard you tried you couldn’t force your brain into submission.
Bad thoughts started circling around your mind like a vulture around its prey. “What if there’s nothing that can help you,” “What if you stay this way forever,” “What if everyone just thinks you’re a burden,” “you might as well get used to this height.”
You covered your ears as if that would help. You forced your eyes shut, but you knew that sleep would be an impossible task at this point.
“Hey y/n! Wake up!” Kirishima said. You were already awake. Kirishima walked over to the kitchen, practically bouncing with energy. Bakugou walked in behind him, in a mood that you could relate to a bit more. His shoulders were slouched and he looked angry, but to be fair this is what he always looked like.
“It’s about a three-hour ride to where my pen pal is,” Kirishima said, “So we should probably bring something to eat, although I doubt you’ll need much, y/n,” You nodded. You usually ate a lot during the day, but you had to agree with him.
You gathered a couple of snacks that Kirishima had in his house and put them in a bag, or to be more precise you sat there and watched Kirishima gather food. Bakugou’s eyes were attached to Kirishima, and he looked like he was smiling, or at least it was a smile for Bakugou’s standards.
“Ok! Let’s get a move on, we don’t want to miss any more days of school, right?” Kirishima said, as energetic as ever. Bakugou nodded and walked out the door. Kirishima picked you up and placed you in the cramped pocket once again before joining the blond outside to begin your journey.
8:00 am. It’s only been an hour. You were compulsively checking your watch, practically buzzing with anticipation. Couldn’t this bus go any faster!? Not to mention you couldn’t even look outside Kirishima’s pocket out of fear of being spotted.
You tried to sleep again, but if you couldn’t doze off in a nice bed, the chances of you getting a wink of sleep were slim. You decided to make yourself as comfortable as you could and just stared off into space.
After what felt like years, you heard a voice sound over the intercom announcing that you had reached your destination.
As if he had forgotten about you, Kirishima stood up quickly, causing you to jostle around. “Oops! Sorry, <y/n>!” You looked up at his face and he looked apologetic.
As you exited the bus, you looked around at your surroundings. It looked very similar to the city you lived in. Large buildings, roads packed with cars, people walking everywhere, although there was something weird about these people. They all had a mutation type quirk that made them look like animals. The lack of variety was surprising to you.
Kirishima seemed to notice too, saying, “Why does everyone here look like an animal?” Bakugou shrugged, or at least you think he did. It was difficult seeing over Kirishima’s pocket and staying hidden at the same time.
“How should I know, shitty hair?” The blond growled, “It’s probably just a coincidence.” “It seems impossible for everyone to have the same type of quirk though,” You argued, but Bakugou didn’t hear you.
Kirishima pulled out a map. “Okay, my penpal shouldn’t be too far from here,” He said, scanning the paper. “Let’s go.”
Kirishima and Bakugou started walking to where the pen pal was. You kept looking around, however, you weren’t the only one looking. Seemingly, the whole city was staring at you, or to be more precise, Kirishima and Bakugou. They were very out of place, being two people who appeared like humans in a sea of mutant type quirks.
Bakugou noticed this and sent glares to each person staring. This caused them to look away, but as soon as he turned his back to them, they would continue.
“Here we are!” Kirishima happily said after the five-minute walk. “Finally. This city is shit and I can’t wait to leave,” Bakugou complained.
Once again, you looked around at your surroundings. You were outside an apartment building. The door you were standing next to had the numbers “46209.”
Kirishima knocked on the door and it was quickly answered by what appeared 5rto be a large anthropomorphic wolf. “Hello?” The wolf asked. “Hello, Legoshi!” Kirishima exclaimed cheerfully. “It's me, Kirishima, and these are my friends, Bakugou, and uh…” He trailed off, remembering your situation.
“Okay. Why are you here?” Legoshi asked.
“It’s kind of a long story. Can we come in?”
“Oh… uh, sure,” Legoshi opened the door wider to let Kirishima and Bakugou enter. You all sat down on a couch, however you remained hidden in Kirishima’s pocket.
“So… Why did you come here?” The wolf asked again. “Well, you see here…” Kirishima started. Bakugou sensed that Kirishima was about to go on a needlessly long tangent so he interrupted, “<Y/n>’s a dumbass and we need you to fix her.” “Very helpful,” You rolled your eyes.
“Um… Sorry?” Legoshi asked, understandably confused. “Look, one of our friends managed to shrink herself somehow… and we need you to help with it.” Kirishima said, surprisingly blunt for him.
“Oh, that really sucks… but I don’t know how I can help…” Legoshi said, looking apologetic. “Didn’t you send a letter that one time, saying how you had a tiny girlfriend or something?” Kirishima asked.
“No. Well, yes, but she didn’t shrink… she’s a dwarf rabbit, and we... broke up.”
“Oh Legoshi, I’m sorry to hear that!”
“Um… thanks but it’s fine.”
“So all of this bullshit was pointless then? Great,” Bakugou said, glaring at Legoshi, although you didn’t know why. Had Legoshi done something wrong that you couldn’t see from your position?
“Actually, I don’t know anything about this- shrinking thing, but I might know some people who do.” The wolf stated. “There are these two people living on top of a mountain. Apparently, they’re like these crazy scientists who can do magic or something.” “Ha! Idiot, magic doesn’t exist!” Bakugou laughed. “Bakubro! Keep an open mind!” Kirishima nudged Bakugou in the stomach. “It’s our only lead right now, so we should at least give it a try.” With much reluctance, Bakugou, Kirishima, Legoshi, and you all start heading in the direction Legoshi pointed you in.
As you walked through the city again, you were followed by a large number of confused looks. "This whole city is crazy!" Kirishima mused as you walked. "What are the odds a whole city would have mutation quirks, and especially animal-like ones?" Bakugou didn't answer, merely walking more briskly. "Hey, bro. What's wrong?" the red-headed boy asked.
“Nothing,” He responded coldly. Even you knew he was lying. “Come on! I know that face!” Kirishima said. You were afraid that Kirishima was pushing it a bit. You’ve seen Bakugou go off on people for less.
“Leave me alone,” He said running ahead of the group. “What did I do?” Kirishima asked himself, but you decided to answer, “He’s Bakugou. I assume that’s what he does. I’m sure he’ll cool down soon.” “R-right.” Kirishima looked at the ground.
“Kirishima… You okay?” Legoshi asked, clearly noticing Kirishima’s expression. “No. Bakugou’s angry at me and I’m not sure what I did…” Kirishima sighed. “I just want him to be happy, but I don’t know how to do that.” “Well. Maybe give him some time? I’m sorry… I wish I could give you better advice-,”
“Thanks, Legoshi.”
Legoshi put a comforting hand on Kirishima’s shoulder. The angry blond turned around, he was too far away to hear their conversation, but he still looked apologetic. “H-Hey, Kirishima I’m…” He trailed off. His eyes were glued to the hand Legoshi had placed on the redhead’s shoulder and his face turned sour.
“Bakubro, what is it?” Kirishima asked, he too noticed Bakugou’s change in expression. “I don’t understand why he’s still here,” Bakugou asked. “Hm? He’s guiding us to his friends so we can help <y/n>?” Kirishima answered matter-a-factly. “Why are we even helping her? What has she ever done for us?” Bakugou asked, sending a glare in your direction. “We’re helping y/n because we’re good friends, and that’s what we do.” “Fine, but can’t he just give us directions or something?”
“Is there a problem?” You asked, doing your best to calm Bakugou down, but because of your height, this was difficult.
“I don’t like him! He seems like the type to betray you at the last minute!” Bakugou yelled. By now, you could see a vein in his forehead and his eyebrows narrow. Glaring daggers at Legoshi. Legoshi didn’t seem to know how to handle the situation, fidgeting with his fingers and avoiding eye contact with the flaming ball of angst that was Bakugou.
“Bakugou, we can trust him I-,” “You what!? Wrote each other a few letters?! It’s easy for someone to lie about their entire background!” Bakugou interrupted his boyfriend. “No one wants you here creep! Leave now, or things will get ugly!” He aimed his fist at Legoshi, sparks started to form, but before Bakugou could shoot, Kirishima jumped in front, blocking the explosion from doing any real damage.
At that moment, you basically saw your life flash before your eyes. It wasn’t every day that you would be forced into the center of an explosion by proxy but here you were. Luckily Kirishima hadn’t forgotten about you this time and had blocked his shirt pocket with his arm.
You looked around. People all over the place were staring at you. Even Legoshi seemed surprised. It was as if none of them had seen a quirk in action before. The sets of eyes directed at your group didn’t stop the two spiky-haired boys from arguing as loud as possible.
“What the hell Kirishima?!” Bakugou practically screamed. “What do you mean!? You could have killed Legoshi!” Kirishima shot back. “He would have deserved it, the nerd.” “Look, I don’t know what’s gotten into you, and if you don’t want to talk about it that’s… fine! But you have no right to take it out on Legoshi, or <y/n>, or anyone else!”
“Um, guys… I should probably go…” Legoshi chimed in, “I don’t know what’s going on, but I don’t want to start a fight between you two.” “No! You can’t go!” The words came out of your mouth before you even had time to process. “I’m sorry. Legoshi, please stay. This could be the only way for me to return to normal. You might be the only thing that can save me so, please… don’t go.”
Bakugou and Kirishima looked at you. They were both so caught up in their own beef that they had forgotten why they were there in the first place. “<Y/n>’s right. Whatever’s going on with you Bakugou, can wait. Right now our top priority should be helping <y/n> and figuring out what’s going on,” Kirishima said, his hardened state leaving.
“Fine. But I’m only joining you if he leaves,” Bakugou said, shooting another nasty glare in Legoshi’s direction. Each glare got more and more terrifying every time.
“No. Either you swallow your pride and help us, or go back to UA and continue trying to be a “hero” or whatever you think should qualify as one,” Kirishima said. You had no idea he had this side to him. You always saw Kirishima as a chill, people pleaser. You admired the way he spoke to Bakugou. Most of the people you saw get into fights with Bakugou ended up on the losing side and with a couple of broken bones. But this was different. Bakugou had responded to this ultimatum with a blank stare. All the fire and passion from earlier wiped clean. Clearly, he had crossed a line.
“So? Are you willing to be a team player?” Kirishima asked, reaching his hand out to Bakugou. “Fuck you,” Bakugou said coldly. His blank stare went away but was replaced by a face you had never seen on Bakugou. He looked angry, but this was different. He looked like he didn’t want to be angry. That this was just a show he was putting on. It was subtle, but you could see it in his eyes.
Bakugou ran off, using his explosions to go faster until all you could see were the remnants of ash he had left behind.
You looked up at Kirishima. His eyebrows were furrowed, but he looked sad. Sadder than you had ever seen him. You wanted to tell him to go after Bakugou, to give him a pep-talk.
But you couldn’t. You desperately wanted to return to your height, so you kept your mouth shut. “Stop being so selfish, <y/n>!” You breaded yourself. It didn’t cause you to speak out.
This wasn’t you being selfish, right? No, your height and whatever was going on was far more pressing than this seemingly petty beef.
“Let’s go,” Kirishima said after a sigh. Legoshi followed him and the three of you continued the journey in silence, no one wanting to be the first to address your situation.
Soon, the mountain dominated the horizon, a much larger challenge than previously thought. You hiked for the better part of an hour, nearing dusk. Kirishima and Legoshi couldn’t walk anymore so you decided to set up a camp. Well, if you can call sitting on the ground with nothing but your clothes to shelter you from the elements a camp.
“We’re almost there, we should continue walking soon,” Legoshi said. “Yeah, I know. I just need time to recuperate.” Kirishima said, out of breath and hiding it poorly. “Nothing the manliest of heroes, Red Riot can’t handle!” He yelled the word “Red Riot” at the top of his lungs. It was odd though. You only remembered him saying this kind of stuff or even mentioning his hero name with civilians. Was he compensating for something?
“Hey! Who’s there?!” You heard a voice shout in the distance. Were they the people Legoshi knew? Was this finally the end?! Kirishima seemed to have the same thought in mind because he stood up. “We’re here! We need your help!” He yelled back and the voice came into view.
They looked nothing like what you expected. They all had the appearance of large tigers. You counted about ten of them. Had Legoshi mentioned that there would be ten? You couldn’t remember.
“Hey boss, they need our help,” The tiger in the front said, although his voice sounded like he was mocking Kirishima and his smile wasn’t kind, it appeared malicious.
A large tiger with a black jacket approached from behind the group. “I assumed you two are after the two insane people on top of the mountain? We ain’t them, sorry to disappoint.” The lead tiger explained, although he didn’t look sorry.
“Do you know them?” Kirishima asked. “Afraid not. We’ve never met. We were on our way to meet with them if you know what I mean,” He tapped the gun in his pocket.
That’s when you realized. These tigers weren’t interested in talking, they were interested in killing your only hope of being normal again. You couldn’t let that happen, but what were you supposed to do? You felt useless.
“Y-You’re trying to-,” Kirishima started, you could feel him shaking, but so were you.
“You are smart. You wouldn’t happen to be from that one human’s school… what was it, EA? No… it was more like UA, right? From what I’ve heard it’s a great school. I’m sure you would have had a bright future ahead of you. Of course, that would have been the case if you hadn’t decided to cut your classes and play hooky.”
What was he implying… “would have,” He wasn’t… no that would be crazy! This couldn’t be happening!
“W-We need to run…” You heard Legoshi say from behind you, just loud enough to let Kirishima hear. “We can’t. I want to be a hero, and the only way to do so is to protect others. I won’t back down from this!” This caused the lead tiger to start cheering and applauding.
“Bravo! Bravo! Just one sentence can be so inspiring!” The tiger said, still clapping. The cheering turned to laughter. He quickly reached for his gun and shot at Kirishima.
Luckily for him, Kirishima had been training rigorously. A gunshot did about as much damage as a slap to the arm by a plush toy.
The tiger was taken aback, clearly not expecting this. “Amazing! That must be what you call… a quirk! I’ve heard so much about them!” The tiger looked like a fan who had just met their idol.
“Please back off,” Kirishima started. “There’s no reason for us to resort to violence.” Kirishima was trying to deescalate the situation.
This caused the tiger to erupt with laughter. “But violence makes everything so much more exciting. He aimed his gun at Kirishima again but quickly switched over to shoot at Legoshi. Kirishima jumped to protect him, blocking you from any bullets as well.
“I’m warning you! Back off!” Kirishima yelled. This continued for about five more blasts from the gun. It was clear that the tiger was trying to wear Kirishima down and you couldn’t let that happen. There had to be something you could do. Why were you always so useless!? Maybe your quirk would work?
You poked your head out of Kirishima’s pocket. All you had to do was make eye contact with him. Then you might be able to control him. Hopefully, your size won’t mess with it. “Come on, look at me!” you thought. You were about to give up when- “What the hell?!” The leader yelled. He noticed you.
You two were making eye contact, but nothing was changing. “Shit! It didn’t work!” You dove back into Kirishima’s pocket, but it was too late. You had been spotted, your cover, blown.
“I think I understand now!” The tiger exclaimed. “You want to talk to the two insane people to help your small friend there! How noble!”
“That’s none of your business,” Legoshi commented, but the tiger ignored him. Before any of you could move, one of the tiger’s lackeys pounced on Kirishima, causing him to fall over. You came tumbling out of his pocket.
Thanks to Legoshi, they were able to fight off the tiger. You were picked up in someone’s hands, although they were gloved. “Shit,” This was the tiger’s hand. You tried to jump, but there was no way to survive the fall. You could feel beads of sweat form on your forehead. Your heart was pounding a mile a minute and your breath was shaky. Your eyes darted around, scanning the area for an escape route, but nothing presented itself. You were trapped.
“Change of plan,” The tiger said. “I kill your little friend here, and you two fine gentlemen can run away free of charge! Or I can kill hard boy here and the other two can run. But I prefer the former if I’m being honest” He announced. You had to process what he had just said. Kill!? Were you gonna die here?! Without ever becoming a hero?! Without ever seeing your friends again?! Without saying goodbye?!
You felt faint, you couldn’t move. This was it. This was the end of your life. As the tiger’s fist started to close around your tiny body, a familiar voice rang throughout the mountain. “DIE!!!” The voice screaming and yellow explosions illuminated the mountainside.
You couldn’t see much in the chaos until you felt the tiger drop you. You landed inside someone’s hands again. It was Kirishima. Were you alive!? Would everything be okay?
As the smoke cleared you saw a familiar face standing amidst the passed-out bodies of the tigers who almost took your life. Bakugou.
“Bakugou!” Kirishima yelled, his hardened state vanishing. “You saved us!” Bakugou nodded, avoiding eye contact with Kirishima.
The four of you sat down, trying to recuperate after the intensity that had just taken place. You were, once again, in Kirishima’s pocket. You had never been so happy in your life to be back in the cramped space.
“H-Hey, Kirishima? Can I talk to you… In private?” Bakugou asked. You had never heard him stutter before. Kirishima nodded and stood up. The two walked away from where Legoshi was. You were still in Kirishima’s pocket. “Did they forget about me?” You thought, not complaining. You really wanted to know what Bakugou had to say.
“Kirishima, I just wanted to talk about… earlier. I shouldn’t have done all those things. I understand that now, and I’ll try to work on my temper-,” “Why?” Kirishima interrupted. You wanted to know the answer too.
“Does it matter?” Bakugou asked, eyebrows raised. “Kinda. I want to fix this, and I need to know why you lashed out to do so.” “It’s not your responsibility to fix me. That’s something I need to work on.”
“Is it really too much for me to ask my boyfriend about what’s bothering him?”
“No, it’s just that…”
“Then tell me!”
“No!”
“Why?! Don’t you trust me!?”
“Of course I do! But I can’t!
“Why not?!”
“Because I’m scared! Okay?!”
Kirishima paused after that. You were just as shocked as he was. Bakugou? Scared? It sounded like blasphemy.
“Y-You’re scared?” Kirishima asked. “Yes. I don’t want to… lose you…” the blond admitted. “You’re the first real friend I’ve ever had. Everyone else acted more like a fanboy than my friend. I guess I’ve never really had a relationship like this before… and I didn’t want it to end…” Bakugou trailed off.
“Bakugou… what on Earth made you think it would end?”
“Legoshi! You were obsessed with each other. You were always talking… I just assumed you liked him more than me.”
“Look, Legoshi and I are close. We’ve been pen pals for years now, he’s one of my best friends,” Kirishima explained and Bakugou looked at the ground.
“I understand…”
“But you’re my boyfriend and nothing would ever change that!” Kirishima smiled and Bakugou looked up again. “But if this relationship is going to work, you can’t be jealous every time I talk to a different guy…”
You looked up at Bakugou. He was… smiling? He actually looked happy. You had never seen him like that before.
Kirishima opened his arms for a hug and Bakugou reluctantly complied, somewhat squishing you in the process.
“Oh… and thanks for saving us earlier. Without you… y/n would be-,”
“Don’t mention it. I always have to save your ass,” Bakugou said and the pair laughed.
“Come on. Let’s go back to the others…” Kirishima trailed off. “Y/n… you’re still in my pocket. You heard everything, didn’t you.” He looked nervous. “Um… well yes I did,” You didn’t know what else to say so you decided to settle on the truth.
“Well… that’s not embarrassing!” Kirishima said with a cheerful tone. “Let’s agree to not talk about this and just go back to Legoshi.” The three of you nodded in agreement.
When you went back to where Legoshi was, he stood up. “We should continue walking. There could be more of those tigers we don’t know about.” He said. “My question is, why would they want to kill the people on the mountain,” You pondered. “I’m not sure, but I found this while you three were talking,” Legoshi said, holding up a purple coin.
“That’s-” You started. “That looked exactly like the coin I found after I shrunk!” “Maybe the people who shrunk y/n are related to the tigers somehow!” Kirishima said. “Right now that doesn’t matter. Let’s just focus on reaching the top of the mountain,” Bakugou stated, getting everyone back on track. “We still have a ways to go.”
You hiked for the better part of an hour, nearing dusk. Just when you thought Legoshi and Kirishima couldn’t walk anymore, you turned the corner to see your destination. A large stone building loomed ahead of you.
You all went up and stood in front of it. Kirishima reached out and knocked on the door. After a few seconds, the door opened. Standing in front of you was a wolf, just like Legoshi, but this one was all white and had large glasses on. “Can I help you?” the wolf asked.
“Yeah, we have a problem, we thought you could help us?” Kirishima replied. The wolf exclaimed, “Yeah, sure, come in!” As you walked in, you peeked out of Kirishima’s pocket a little more to see the room you were in. It is a large room filled with sciency looking things. The walls were covered in bookshelves, there were piles of books lying around, and there were tables covered in jars and chemistry materials.
“So, what would happen to be your problem?” the wolf asked. Kirishima reached into his pocket and pulled you out. “Here, this is our friend <y/n>. Something happened, and now we don’t know how to fix it.” The wolf started at the sight of you, then turned around and started looking through the bookshelves.
“This is very interesting,” he said. “We’ve been seeing quite a lot of these anomalies in the past few days. We’ve been starting to call them the Wild Magic Surges. Ah! Here it is!” The white wolf pulled a book off the shelf. “Who even are you people anyway?” Bakugou asked.
"Oh! Sorry, allow me to introduce myself! My name is Karasu!”
“Yeah, those tigers said you were crazy.”
“Bakugo!” Kirishima exclaimed, hitting him on the shoulder.
“Oh, no,” Karasu replied, “but I can see why they would think that. We don’t really… leave? We’re just two researchers though. Perfectly sane!” As he talked, he started to pull out some alchemical supplies. Just as he was finishing, the door opened to the back room. A woman in a lab coat and goggles stepped out and started walking towards Karasu until she seemingly just realized you were there and stopped. “Oh, hi,” she said.
“This is Karen,” Karasu said to you all. Turning to her, he said, “We had another wild magic surge. This young lady got shrunk, and I’m trying to help her get back to size.”
“Have you tried Dragonsmoss? A mixture with Terenbirn oil should do it.”
“Wait, what kind of researchers are you?” Legoshi asked.
“Magic researchers! We use spells and potions, among other things.” After she said this, Bakugou turned and gave Kirishima the slightest look that you know to mean, Get a load of this bullshit. You are glad that he kept his mouth shut, though, because these ‘magic researchers’ were your best chance of returning to normal.
After a few minutes of the scientists muttering, Karasu seemed to finish up and came back over to you. “Here, this should do it.” You took the potion out of his hand, though he had to put it into a beaker the size of a thimble for you to take it. After only a bit of hesitation, you drank the herby potion. Soon, you felt yourself start to grow. After another minute, you were back to full size again.
“So this has been happening a lot lately,” Karasu mused.
“Yeah, we found these coins at some places weird things kept happening,” Kirishima replied. “We tried to do some research, but all we found was some person who lived a long time ago.”
“We have also been finding these connections. It leads me to believe that Aeneas is returning.”
“But how? Didn’t he live over a hundred years ago?”
“Aeneas is a powerful wizard, time means not to him. If it really is him, then we should all be worried.” The wolf paused, then looked up again and smiled. “But hey, you shouldn’t worry about that! Just go home and rest, you’ve earned it.”
After that, you all said your goodbyes, and Bakugou, Kirishima, Legoshi, and a now full-sized you walked out of the laboratory. You said goodbye to Legoshi at the bottom of the mountain and promised to keep in touch, then you got on the train back home. As you rode with Kirishima and Bakugou, you all thought back on your experiences. You left them in a daze, promising offhandedly to see them at school the next day. You returned to your house tired and ready to collapse. Sleep did not come, though, as you sat and worried about what would happen to your world. As you sat there, still awake, you looked out your window. You thought about how much bigger your world was about to get, and you realized there was nothing you could do about it. There was nothing left to do but look up and count the stars.

“Um, well first of all I just wanna thank the JHA, we all wouldn’t be here without them. Thanks for the support you guys provide to us heroes, and for organising events such as these.
“And thank you to all the heroes, whether you’re on this stage or not, for keeping our country safe and protecting our citizens.
“I’d also like to thank my parents, uh, for raising me and stuff. For believing in me and supporting me all this time. I don’t know if I’ve ever said this so you guys should probably record it or some shit— Shit, wait fuck am I allowed to— Whatever just bleep me.
“Anyways, Mum, Dad, I love you guys.
“And thanks to U.A. for really teaching me what it means to be a hero. To Aiza— Eraserhead for helping me grow and trusting me and my goals. And to All Might especially, who may no longer be in active duty but remains the Symbol of Hope for so many of us. You have no idea how many lives you’ve touched and how many of us you’ve inspired to become heroes and do what we do, so thank you.
“Finally, I want to thank someone who’s very special to me. My fiancé. Shouto, you might’ve heard of him. Actually he’s standing right there on my left, but um.
“He’s my number one—not that that means I’m going to let him have my position because it’s mine, you bastard I can already see you scheming.
“But he’s been there for me through all my highs and lows, he’s stayed up with me to research missions and cases, he’s celebrated my successes and provided comfort when they’re not.
“I wouldn’t be here without him, and I surely wouldn’t be standing where I am tonight if it weren’t for him—still not letting you have this rank Shouto don’t think I’m not onto you—so yeah.
“Thanks for sticking by me, all these years.
“I uh, love being a hero. It’s the only dream I’ve ever had and the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do so, please continue to let me lead you for a while longer.
“And I will also be in your care.
“Thank you very much.”
Before Katsuki can even set his gauntlets down the door to his private room opens and there’s a cold feeling on his shoulder but a warm heat wrapped around his stomach.
Shouto presses his mouth to Katsuki’s neck, and Katsuki lets out a chuckle.
He places his accessories on the table before twisting around to meet his fiancé’s lips.
Katsuki is happy. He had been so fucking happy on the stage, and he’s even happier now that Shouto is right here for him to kiss and hug.
“You did it,” Shouto murmurs into his hair, and Katsuki can hear the smile in his voice.
“I did it,” Katsuki echoes. “I—”
All of a sudden tears well up in his eyes and he can’t get out any words without his throat getting choked up so he buries his face in Shouto’s chest and holds onto him tighter because—
He’s the number one hero.
In all of Japan.
Out of the thousands if not millions of heroes, Bakugou Katsuki ranks at the very top.
There is no other— Wait that’s wrong. This is one of the best moments of his life.
Next only to the time Shouto got down on one knee and asked Katsuki to be his, as if Katsuki hadn’t already prepared to devote his life to Shouto.
“Wait,” Katsuki finally manages to say, words coming out slightly garbled, “my ring.”
He takes it off whenever wearing his gloves and tonight he had placed it—
Where had he placed it?
It’s not on the table or any of the chairs and the casual clothes he brought have no pockets so it can’t be there and—
Katsuki turns to Shouto with wide eyes, his heart beating crazy fast. He lost his ring. It’s— He feels like he’s going to cry again, from the exact opposite emotions of what he was feeling just a moment ago.
But Shouto just smiles at him, then reaches into his back pocket and pulls out the platinum band. Katsuki makes to grab it, however Shouto moves his hand back. Katsuki rolls his eyes and holds his own hand out.
And Shouto slides the ring back onto his fourth finger, with a delicateness and carefulness just like the first time. And just as he had that first time, Katsuki feels a blush rise to his cheek and finds that his heart is about to burst.
Shouto always does this, for some reason. Whenever Katsuki has to put his ring back on and Shouto is nearby, he insists on doing it himself.
Maybe he just likes torturing Katsuki. Because it really is overwhelming every single time, especially since he noticed that Shouto always wore this small smile on his lips whenever he did so, as if he still couldn’t believe it.
The ring feels unusually warm though. Not just from the flush of Katsuki’s skin as a result of all his love for Shouto.
“Hang on a moment. Did you let my ring touch your ass?”
Katsuki was too frantic to realise it earlier, but now that he’s more clear-headed and can feel it…
“I’m wearing pants,” is all Shouto replies, and Katsuki wants to deck him.
So much for the nice moment they were having.
During the silence that falls over them, Shouto keeps glancing around the room as if he’s looking for something. Katsuki gets bored and also wants to celebrate some more, so he puts his hands on Shouto’s waist and brings their hips flush, but Shouto is still looking around.
“What is it?” Katsuki asks, inching closer to his fiancé’s face.
“Oh, nothing,” Shouto says nonchalantly. “Just getting a preview of what my room will look like next year.”
Katsuki pinches the flesh below Shouto’s ribs and watches him squirm and twist with no remorse because the piece of shit deserves it.
“You’re the fucking worst. How is this any different to your room?”
“Well,” Shouto leans back and grins slyly, “my room doesn’t have you in it.”
“Hah. Your room doesn’t have anyone in it, except maybe the poor media people waiting to interview you.”
“They can interview the two of us together right here.”
“Shouto,” Katsuki grins into Shouto’s lips, “you know no one’s gonna dare come in knowing you’re here too.”
“Good,” Shouto kisses back, “I don’t want them to.”
They make out nice and slow, wet and heated, with tongues licking into the other’s mouths and teeth biting down on the other’s lips and Shouto slowly backs Katsuki into the table before hoisting him up onto it and standing between his legs.
Katsuki snakes his arms around Shouto’s shoulders and wraps his legs around his waist and brings him closer and just kisses kisses kisses him.
“Shouto,” he begins, breathless, “congrats on becoming number two.”
“Mmh.” Katsuki feels the vibrations of Shouto’s hum as tingles against his lips. “And congratulations to you, Katsuki, for making it to number one. I couldn’t think of anyone more worthy.”
The mention of his new title gets Katsuki emotional again, and he can’t stop himself from saying, “I love you. And I meant it when I said you’re my number one. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Shouto pulls back and smiles softly at Katsuki, before cupping his cheeks and gently wiping his tears away. “I love you too. And I am so honoured to be yours.”
Katsuki opens his mouth to say something more but is interrupted by the growling of his stomach. He groans and rests his forehead on Shouto’s shoulder.
Above him, Shouto laughs.
“Wanna skip the after-event and just get some bentos from the konbini to eat at home?”
“Nah,” Katsuki waves and hops off the table. “I’ll cook for us.”
“You sure? Maybe you should rest.”
“It’s not like we were fighting villains. I’m fine. Plus, I’ve already celebrated with you, my great love. Let me celebrate with my first love.”
“Food?”
“No, cooking.”
“That’s not a tangible—”
“Shhh shh shh. Anyway, how’re we gonna do this?”
“You mean sneak out?” Shouto hums and looks around them. Then he looks at himself and Katsuki. “Let’s not change.”
“What?”
“We’ll stay in our hero costumes and leave everything else behind and run out so they’ll think there’s something going on. That way they can’t stop us and won’t try to contact us.”
Katsuki thinks about it for a moment before nodding. “Alright, genius. Sounds like a plan. Just let me…” he glances at the accessories he took off earlier. “Do I really have to put all those back on?”
“Nah, I doubt they’ll notice right away. And you’ll be faster without your gauntlets.”
“Fuck off, I’m not slow.”
“Yeah, but you can be faster.”
“Easy for you to say, the only add-ons you have are those wee-wees.”
Shouto gives him a deadpan stare. “Seriously, Katsuki, it’s been years. Don’t you think we can move on from that?”
“Five pee-pee man!” Katsuki provokes, which earns him an iced wrist. “Okay, okay, just give me a moment to—”
“First one home wins!” Shouto cuts Katsuki off and immediately sprints out the door.
“You fucking—!” Katsuki blasts the ice off his hand then lunges for his and Shouto’s phones lying on a chair before dashing after him.
As soon as he steps out of the room he’s bombarded by numerous people who were just waiting at the door who call out his name, but Katsuki pays them no mind as he runs down the hallway and into the fresh cold night.

HCs for Aizawa Shouta, Yagi Toshinori and Todoroki Shouto with a shy and sweet S/O who loves hugs and flowers
AIZAWA SHOUTA
This one is always tired and not the most romantic or one to take initiative, so a sweet S/O to brighten up his otherwise dull day would be very welcome.
He usually is not a touchy person, but since he knows they're shy and love hugs, he'd indulge once in a while to put his scarf around them and hug them tightly, not saying a word and just enjoying the moment. (That is, if nobody they both know is around.)
Their shy and soft nature comes off as a relief and positive light in his life and since he's not one of many words, he's an amazing listener. That means that if they ever feel like they want to tell something to someone, no matter how random, he'd urge them to tell him. Be it memes, an aesthetic pic, a pretty landscape, a kitten on the street and so on.
Speaking of kittens...If his S/O suddenly comes home with a stray kitten in their sweater, looking at him with those sad, puppy eyes, asking if they could keep it, he could NOT for the love of anything in the world refuse his S/O. I mean...A kitten in need and his S/O's happiness are sure worth it. Besides, he absolutely
L O V E S
Cats.
“Aizawa-kun, look what I found! It was raining and he was meowing under a car, scared, like Nya! Nya! Save me, please and-” “Bring him in so we can take care of him. Tomorrow we’re getting him to the vet.” “YAY! Did you hear that, Aizanya? You’re gonna be the happiest kitten alive!” “Ai-...Aiza...Nya?”
The poor boy has to lift his scarf to cover his face so his S/O won’t see him blushing, while he turns around and mutters how adorable they are.
He's not one to shower his S/O with endless amounts of gifts, but if he sees they love flowers and plants in general, he'd surprise them with a different flower once every weekend and on special occasions, he'd gift them a potted-flower so they could take care of it and cherish its beauty for a long time.
Bonus: If his S/O was to make him a flower crown, he'd wear it for a while, before he puts it on their head and takes a picture of them smiling, putting it as his phone wallpaper, saying how they're a true forest nymph.
Toshinori’s S/O has known him for a long time, even before he became All Might and they were really close, until he had to leave to America and their S/O went to Europe with a Healing Quirks Internship.
The next time they saw each other was after he got injured and they met each other on their way home from the grocery shop.
Toshi recognised them immediately, which made him gasp in shock, trying to hide his skeleton self from them, but they only looked at him confused for a while, until their eyes widened in realisation, remembering how much they loved to play with his blond hair, and their bag fell as they jump-hugged him
Needless to say, being used to their usual shy and soft self, he used to be the one to jump-hug them do all the cutesy stuff, so his S/O taking initiative in such a sweet way touched his heart an infinite times.
“Yagi, goodness, what happened to you? Are you ill? Injured? Jeez, you should have said something, you know I could be of use with my Quirk or something!”
Toshi could only smile at them and try to fight back the tears, not even getting insecure about his powerless self anymore.
Then, he remembered a crucial question he always wanted to ask them.
“Say, S/O, why do you always call me by my surname?” “ Ah, well, you see...I always thought Yagi sounded like the Korean word Jagi, which means Sweetheart or Honey and I thought it was...You know...Really cute!” they said, an obvious blush on their face.
Cue Toshi crying
Toshi would be the most affectionate and sweet boyfriend anyone could wish for.
You like flowers? Expect to be gifted flowers every day, just so he could see you smile.
You like puppies? Let’s adopt one!
You like huge? Yagi will give you hugs any time, anywhere, no matter who is around or watching.
You make him a flower crown? He’ll wear it around everywhere, even when he teaches at U.A., but expect him to also make one for you so you can match and be Flower Fairies.
Bonus: He’d have a personalised ringtone/notification tone for your texts and calls with your voice. “ Heads up, Yagi! You’ve got a call! Hurry up and answer! ” or “ Toshi, would you look at this flying text?! It’s aiming right at ya! ”
This cutie isn’t the best at relationships since he has no experience whatsoever, but the feeling his S/O brings him is one he craves so he’s learning how to be the best boyfriend.
He’d ask his older brother and sister a lot on this topic and what to do not to be in any way like their father and despite being awkward and reserved, so he’ll try to appear confident, even if he’s actually a stuttering mess, like his S/O.
The first time you decided to have an official date, he brought them a flower and their reaction was so sweet and adorable that he blushed.
His S/O only mentioned once their favourite flower type and of course, Shoto would remember something so important about his S/O, and from then on, he’d always bring them the same, single flower and put it in their hair, cherishing every second of their bright smile.
Frankly speaking, he’s very attentive so he’d remember even trivial things like his S/O’s favourite number, favourite colour, ice cream preference, fave season, little obsessions and so on.
Of course, he’d also easily decipher them through their body language, which is how he learnt to always give the best hugs when he felt like his S/O needed them.
I mean it literally. This boy gives THE best huges EVER.
He’d even nuzzle his face in the crook of his S/O’s neck, letting his vulnerable side show only around them. It’s his own way of saying how much he loves and trusts his S/O, even if it’s not through words.
Albeit, neither of them is good with expressing their affections through words, so they keep those for light or deep conversations, while cute gestures like hand-holding, hugs, cheek kisses and so on are their way of saying “I love you”.
Todoroki is an animal fan, more of the silent ones, like rabbits, even if he doesn’t say it much, but if his S/O was ever to ask him if he wants to adopt an animal, he’d be happy to raise an innocent soul with the person he loves the most.
One day, they go walking through a nice meadow and spot lots of flowers, which makes his S/O giddy and cheery, dragging him there and getting started on a red and white flower crown, situated opposite to colours of his hair.
Poor Shoto had his face redder than his hair or the flowers, but hearing his S/O giggle made him forget about the blush and look at them just to see their shy smile that they only share with him.
Bonus: His S/O would take out a pair of cat ears and put them on their head, then jump-hugged Todoroki and took out their phone, taking numerous selfies as they kissed his face or smiled to the camera.
“S-S/O, what are you doing?” “I wanted to change my phone’s lockscreen so it could have both of us happy!” “Then...Can you let me take the next picture so we can both share it as a matching lockscreen?”
His S/O’s eyes started gleaming like stars when they heard his idea and nodded frantically, until he kissed them gently, with a hand behind their head, and the other taking numerous pictures.
His S/O was a blushing mess, but kissed back just as lovingly.
“Say, S/O, I think this one would be great, hm? I think the evening light and sky colours really highlight your beauty”.
ALERT! S/O’s BRAIN SHORT-CIRCUITED! OVERHEATING!

Binch || Fukai || Trial 3-5 || RE: Sora, Chika, Hiroto, AIZA || ATTN: Sora, Everyone
"Bitch."
Did Sora REALLY just talk to her like that? Did he really? She cleared her throat, preparing herself for the longest ramble of the century.
"First of all, don't fucking talk to me like that. Normally I'd be all for it, kyaa kyaa, but I'm obviously dealing with some shit right now so get your nose out of the daisies. Secondly: Did you literally not hear a word I just said? I just gave you an exact thought process to why I think it would be you. Get your ears out of the marshmallows. You're right, it COULD be Haha-tan. But you're smarter. Blah blah blah whatever Hero-tan says, someone still has to know how to build a trap even if they don't get chemistry, ok? I've never built one, how the fuck would I know how? You're the most likely out of the three of us, I think.
THIRDLY, did you really fucking imply that I would kill Jun? Like did that bullshit really come out of your mouth? Do you know what I'm going through right now? Probably because you've dealt with strong emotions your whole life, huh? Guess what? I haven't and I have no idea how to deal with any of this. And for your information, I was in love with him. I felt the strongest for him out of anyone else ever ever. Waahhh stupid teenagers, using your crushes as an excuse to act bad, it's not the end of the world, wahh wahhh, what if Kira-tan was dead, huh? What would you do then? What if I accused you of killing Kira-tan? Shut your little bitch mouth and pay attention to what people are saying before you brush them off, kay? Kay."
CW: Self harm implications
She panted and slammed her head on the desk, trying to focus and take in the following information. Chika, Hiroto, someone, AIZA. She scratched at her leg with her free hand, peeling off the top layer of skin with the pressure. Fukai watched, wondering how many scratches it would take to start bleeding. The kind of imagery that would be. Or if someone else in here would start bleeding. Just how many scratches would it take?
//
Once she caught her breath, she lifted her head again and squinted at the group.
"Nah, Chichi-tan, I think somebody would plant a hair. If they weren't even there when the fireworks boomed over there, then why would it be crispy? Hold it under a lighter or something. Besides, why would they write the color like that under Jun? That seems silly. So, like. At least, it's possible that somebody coulda just planted it.
Also, Hero-tan, it was just the one stab that was clean, not lots of cuts. Though, like... there was blood and stuff from his knees so the non-squeamish part makes sense. But yeah I'm pretty sure only the big stabby was faked to hide the death cause. Still pretty sure it was poison gas, so. Hyponengin Suffer doesn't sound good to breathe."
Whether she mispronounced that on purpose or not was up in the air.
"Unless there's anybody else who didn't find ceramic pieces by their balloons, then the big baddy was just by the boardwalk. They all like... went off at once, so, there's no reason somebody's hair woulda been singed in the explosion if nobody was there in the first place."

muns multi-muse meme - 3, 12, 21, 30
asks for muns with a multimuse. | ACCEPTING.
↳ 3. which muse is the trickiest to get into character for?
Probably, Evan Tinly and Isaac Maverick. Not just because they’re underdeveloped. But Evan is my most submissive male muse, he doesn’t have a dominant bone in his body, he’s like a lil’ needy lover boy and it’s unusual so it’s harder to write. And Isaac has always been difficult but I still love my awkward child.
↳ 12. what is something everyone should know about your muses before interacting?
They’re all different. Of course, they have their similarities but they’re all their own person, they have their own interests, their own kinks, their own likes and dislikes. They’re not just carbon copies of each other and honestly, I have very little control over the stuff they do. Example, Blaise Aiza wasn’t supposed to be as garbage as he is.
↳ 21. which muse is the most problematic towards other muses?
Bread Vega. Nine and a half times out of ten, she’s a bad influence. Most of the time she does whatever the fuck she wants without any care. She’ll piss someone off to the point of their head exploding just because she finds it entertaining, she cheats just because she can, does stupid shit just because she’s bored. All around she’s trashier than anyone else.
↳ 30. most importantly, are you having fun playing each one of your muses?
I love my babies, from my trash ones to my rays of sunshine, they’re all previous in their own way so I would say I am absolutely having fun playing each one of them.

Anime Update 88
The Day I Became A God - Sora finally got around to finishing the script of that movie she'd wanted to make, so Hina decides that since the world will be ending in 7 or so more days anyway (according to her) she might as well mik this opportunity for all its worth and star in the movie. Following her lead, Yota calls up some friends (basically every prominent character from all of the misadventures thus far) to partake in the filming. Typical hilarity with all the characters ensues, with the best part being when there are problems with the CG they're adding to the film, and all of Hina's attempts to fix it making the whole thing crazier. Towards the end we suddenly shift focus back to Hiroto and Agent Karasuma as they're still investigating into the strange disappearance of Professor Korogi, and these two are probably my favorite characters on the show next to Hina herself. Hiroto shows his wilder, crazier side as he makes a mad dash to save a crucial belonging of Korogi's from a recycling plant even though he almost gets himself gruesomely killed doing so. Thankfully Karasuma is there to be the one to pull the "saved at the nick of time" cliche, and the book that Hiroto grabbed is revealed to contain a photo of Hina.
Dragon Ball - None this week, I’m afraid! After that tournament conclusion last time, Goku needs to rest and regain his energy.
Your Lie In April - As if things weren't going badly enough for poor Tsubaki already, her softball captain boyfriend breaks things off with her as well, leading to her having to tearfully try and sort out her feelings to Kosei as he plays the piano to comfort her. All of Tsubaki's friends seem to be moving forward in life and leaving her behind, and internally she blames Kosei, calling him a liar for saying he'd always be there for her. Um, Tsubaki...this is happening partially because of YOU. You and Kaori harrassed Kosei back into music, and Kosei moving away to attend this new school is a direct result of that. You got Kosei back on his feet, just like you wanted, so why now act entitled to him sticking around with YOU to service YOUR emotional needs? Meanwhile, Kosei is hesitant to make any routine visits to Kaori in the hospital, and when backing away he meets a little girl named Nagi Aiza, who claims to be an aspiring pianist herself and asks Hiroko to mentor her as well. Kosei later makes it to the inside of the hospital, right outside Kaori's room, but chickens out again, something that Kaori thankfully chews him out on over the phone later. The note this one ended on was really dark - Kaori randomly falls over onto the floor while walking through the hospital hallway, and finds her body so frail and her legs so weak that she is unable to stand back up no matter how much she tries to will herself to do so, resulting in the start of an emotional meltdown as Kaori starts to wail. It’s a disturbingly sincere moment for Kaori, for the wreck that she is beneath the mask of a normally sunny disposition. Really sad stuff.
Date A Live S2 - Back at the Tengu Square to take on Miku and maybe try to reason with her so that she can help them save Tohka from DEM, Shido and Kurumi are able to intercept and resist Miku's abilities when she inevitably assaults them with help from the Spirits she's mentally enslaved. Even when temporarily stuck in a dark abyss with Shido, Miku refuses to give aid and doubts that a human like him could ever be selfless enough to truly care about Spirits, so Shido has to go it alone from there. We get Sir Westcott introducing himself to Tohka and openly floating ways to torment her so that he may bring her to a state of absolute despair and harness her power in that state for his own ambitions of "creating chaos", as he puts it, with his intent being for Shido and the others meeting a torturous end as the icing on the cake. Charming individual, huh? Westcott orders to have fake spatial quake alarms set off to evacuate and shut out all civilians, and then DEM unleashes a large pack of Bandersnatches that Kurumi arrives to hold off. The Fraxinus crew are back to mental clarity, and Mana arrives to help her bio brother while ironically having to work alongside her sworn nemesis Kurumi. The action we get here is really cool and intense, and by the end Jessica Bailey has come out to play, with Origami close behind for a comeback, and Shido is cooperating with Kotori as he slashes his way through DEM operatives, determined to rescue Tohka no matter what the cost.
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - What happened after Schniezel's timely arrival is not shown to us in full, as the episode opens with Lelouch, Euphemia, Suzaku, and Kallen all stranded on Kamine Island. This set-up goes exactly the way you'd think, with Suzaku meeting up with Kallen while Lelouch meets up with Euphie. Suzaku learns Kallen's true identity, and Euphie has already figured out Zero's, which permits Lelouch to reveal himself to her and confirm her suspicions. Seeing the Britannian half-siblings catch up with each other in a non-hostile way was nice, but the talks between Suzaku and Kallen were honestly more interesting. Suzaku tells Kallen the truth about his father and his death, also likening Zero and his "I alone get to decide the course of everything no matter the casualties and collateral damange I have to create to set it" mentality to his deceased father as a way of explaining why Zero invokes so much ire in him, which is very valid and makes so much sense. And yet when he reaches out to Kallen with an offer to leave the Black Knights since they're no good, Kallen calls him out on why he's still working with the Britannian Empire's military, which is ALSO a no good side to be on of your own volition, and that too is a very valid, sensible point that Suzaku can't quite refute. We also get to meet Schniezel as he confers with Lloyd and Cecile to scan the island, and he's got Clovis' old general working for him now for some reason. The next morning sees a meeting between the groups where Zero initiates a standoff, Euphie doesn't expose Zero's identity, Kallen attempts to take Suzaku hostage so that Euphie may allow her and Zero free passage off the island without any retaliation, AND gets Euphie rather hilariously riled up by calling her a useless royal puppet (or "Doll Princess"). Out of nowhere all four of them fall into the ruin beneath the island, but Lelouch and Kallen steal the Knightmare Frame Gawain to escape. At the end Suzaku gets detained with charges of insubordination, where it's revealed that during the attack that stranded everyone, Lelouch had Geassed Suzaku with a "LIVE!" command, so Suzaku prioritized his own survival over Zero's capture to the point of attacking his fellow troops! Congrats, Lulu - you got your best friend taking the fall for you again!
Sound! Euphonium - To the surprise of no one, Kumiko vehemently denies being romantically involved with Shuichi or in any way attracted to him, which I totally get since she clearly does not see him that way. This doesn’t stop Shuichi from asking Kumiko to accompany him to the Agata Festival as his date, which she really wouldn’t want since Hazuki has a visible crush on him herself! So basically we get a love triangle where one character involved (Kumiko) is well aware it’s a love triangle and is desparately trying to make it not a love triangle. It’s like Kumiko is aware of the romantic cliches as well as we in the audience are and we’re on the same page, which makes watching this so damn funny. Kumiko seems to effectively get the situation under control and Hazuki gets to go with Shuichi to the festival, where she confesses her feelings to him but seems to be rejected. Kumiko, meanwhile, gets a date with the person she is actually infatuated with - Reina, who invites her to hike with her to several shrines overlooking the city rather than mingle with the festival crowds. Reina confesses that she too has a special interest in Kumiko and wants to spend more time with her, 'cause she finds Kumiko's true personality - that of a dispassionate and unruly brat who’s nothing like the good girl she presents herself as - to be attractive. Reina herself has no interest in being a good girl or fitting in with her peers, since that makes her just another face in the crowd. No, she wants to become something truly special. Ironically she already IS special to Kumiko, who just cannot stop being in awe of her hot and inspiring girlfriend (she really does call her those things, y’know!). And so the two girls quite literally make music together atop the peak over the end credits, and it is beautiful.
Magic Knight Rayearth - Mostly this episode centered around action that was taking place away from Cephiro Castle and the Magic Knights, with a fight between Fahren and Autozam as the latter was looking to break Eagle out of the castle and the former wanting to stop them from doing so. Following her time with Fuu, Aska has been undergoing a great amount of growth for a spoiled brat like her, realizing that she could never be the Pillar of Cephiro because she loves her own nation and people far too much to dedicate all of her thoughts, prayers, and willpower towards Cephiro, and that she would rather make friends than enemies in Cephiro’s forces like the Magic Knights. Using the Giant San Yung to fight off Autozam’s airship and drive it away from Cephiro, Aska honors Fuu as a friend and rival by making sure that no one who isn’t her takes her down during a time of ceasefire. Back in the castle dungeon, however, Eagle unveils a hidden ace in the hole that breaks him free, and now he’s rushing ahead determined to claim the Pillar System for himself before he runs out of time. Looks like we’re in for more trouble now!
Sailor Moon Eternal - Watched this on Netflix during mid-October. Really enjoyed it and much like the Infinity arc of Crystal found it to be immensely superior to the 90′s anime counterpart (SuperS in this case) with the sole exception of the villains who served under the Big Bad Queen Nehelenia/Madame Zirconia. The Dead Moon Circus’ entire gimmick just felt half-baked and superfulous, and both the main minions - the Amazon Quartet - and THEIR minions felt really underdeveloped compared to the 90′s anime versions. Aside from that factor, everything else was solid. Usagi and the other Senshi retained their character development, Chibiusa actually HAD character development and less of a creepy relationship with the flying horse boy, Mamoru/Endymion got to have an indespensibly pivotal role in the plot that mattered a lot to his character, the Outer Senshi were actually fucking in it, the lore was better explained and conveyed to us, the story flowed very well, and everything just made a lot more sense. So all in all, I’d give this two part film a B grade.
AND
Black Lagoon - Fittingly for October, I watched the first three episodes of the second cours, the arc with the "vampire twins.” Still have a hard time putting into coherent thoughts what the hell I just watched there; something about the Mafia using this really creepy and incestuous pair of Romanian twin mercenaries to try and destroy Balalaika’s Hotel Moscow organization, Balalaika allying with Chang to get to the bottom of the spooky going-ons, Revy and Eda going rogue to try and deal with the twins themselves so that they can claim the hefty bounty reward, and the twins not only kill people but fucking canibalize them after they’ve done so! But I think what stuck with me most was the very end, after Hansel has been killed and Gretel’s hanging with the Lagoon Company on their boat. They’re delivering her to a new caretaker for her who turns out to be an old retired acquaintance of Balalaika, who’d actually been hired to the job of shooting Gretel dead once she arrived. On one hand, I totally understood Benny’s rationale for this and even agree to some extent - those kids were warped into monsters who were never going to be normal and would just keep on killing based on the “kill or be killed” worldview that had been wedged into their damaged minds. There was no reasoning with them to come back from the darkness, no plausible chance of them turning themselves around and becoming good citizens. It’s best for them and for society that they be taken away from society. But on the other hand, I wasn’t entirely sold on the idea that literally ending their lives was the only option, and could feel Rock’s anguish that this was set to end in the murder of two horribly abused and densensitized children who’d been robbed of their innocence and a chance at a good life for themselves. But in the end, they’re dead and we’re just left to wonder what might’ve been.

I was watching HSY's show the other day and oh man he really isn't good at this stuff like he cuts people off and he doesn't really have a flow with the question. But then again he's a designer not a talk show host, he'll get there.
some of the things i wish they would change in Tonite With HSY
like you said the cutting people off. sometimes celebrities say shady things and i wish he would ask them to expand and investigate a bit more. considering its HSY, i’m sure he already knows who the celebrities are talking about but the audience wants to know also.
The editing is sooo horrible! since contradictions sponsors the show, they have to sell the furniture but can they stop cutting clips mid way. the set does no justice to the people sitting, they disappear with the set.
the stupid games he has started to play. like either categorize yourself as a celebrity talk-show or a stupid game show. Even if you’re going to play games, have more intelligent questions and not “list three things you can hold” or “name three things you can lick” like who the actual fuck thought, yeah this seems like a good idea.
Also, i wish some celebrities would dress better. Like, you’re not on a morning show or at someone’s wedding (Aiza Khan). But, at least its an improved since the first season. We have come a long way since Mehwish Hayat’s look (shudders).

What’s the point of matching outfits if you’re not sword fighting in them?
Anyway since Jason has apparently given up guns,,, let him have a sword (he’s practicing very hard with Artie as you can see)

Your Reputations Precede You
A short Jaytemis drabble inspired by a discussion on our server about ship dynamics where the characters are intimidating and terrifying with everyone EXCEPT this one special person <3
The Watchtower post-battle was always a hectic place. People would be running everywhere, trying to find friends, family, lovers. Trying to tend to wounds, trying to celebrate whatever battle they had won against a colossal threat. And colossal threats tended to require a lot of people to defeat– hence the presence of the Outlaws.
When Cassie thought about the Outlaws, she thought about a rugged group of outcasts, toeing the line between good and bad. She thought them to be intimidating, at least, and downright scary at most. They were always more… distant from the rest of the hero community– and Cassie assumed they liked it that way. And being led by the infamous Red Hood, they probably spent their free time causing explosions or exclusively talking about weapons, allergic to anything that could be considered fun.
She hadn’t expected this.
Here was the thing: Cassie Sandsmark knew Artemis Grace. Artemis was her sister in battle– how could she not? Artemis was tough, ruthless and callous. That wasn’t to say that she was mean, though. Despite her seemingly hostile nature, Artemis meant well. She could be plenty nice (Cassie supposed that was why she had become a hero in the first place) if she wanted to be. That being said, Cassie had yet to see her supposed niceness yet.
Jason Todd, however, was another story. Cassie had once heard Tim say that Jason was an utter and complete nerd. Cassie didn’t believe it for one second– instead dismissing it as something Tim had made up to slander his brother. Jason Todd, the murdered Robin that had come back insane and with a vengeance. Whose kill streak was a mile-wide– and gruesome too. Like Artemis, he was standoffish and short-tempered, though she’d heard people say he was good with kids. Yeah. Like hell was she letting a kid within a mile of him with a reputation like that.
When Cassie had heard rumors that the two were together, she’d laughed. They were practically made for each other.
With infamy like that, Cassie thought it was okay to be a little nosy when the two had approached each other at the Watchtower. She didn’t know what she expected. Maybe for them to nod formally at each other and leave it at that. Maybe she expected them to not acknowledge each other at all, only sitting down beside each other coldly.
That’s not what happened. Instead, Jason took her hand gently and leant down to kiss it. “M’lady.”
Cassie’s brain short-circuited.
Artemis laughed (she laughed) and pulled the man into a tight embrace, pressing her lips to his head tenderly. Tenderly. “Jason Peter Todd, don’t you ever do that to me again.”
This time, it was Jason who grinned. Not all-teeth and fierce– but a genuine, mischievous grin that lit up his entire face. “What’d I do, Princess?” he asked smugly.
Princess. He called her Princess.
Artemis pulled away, slapping his arm playfully. “You scared me, that’s what you did you idiot.”
The fearsome Red Hood ducked his head bashfully, hiding his face in the Amazon’s shoulder. “Oh. Sorry, Artie.” Artemis pulled him closer and they stayed like that for a minute, simply existing in each other's embrace.
The silence was broken when Jason whispered something inaudible to her and Artemis giggled. Their conversation resumed– although they now talked of much more mundane things. Promises of cooking up a meal together, idle conversation about the latest book they were reading, bickering who had done the laundry last. The whole time, Jason’s hands made their way through Artemis's hair, taking down her ponytail and running his fingers through it before braiding it intricately. And Artemis just sat there, smiling like it was normal. It was just… so weird.
Jason and Artemis. Two of the most intimidating people she knew, and they turned out to be absolutely melty and sickly-sweet with each other. Huh.
