Gods almighty I hate AI bros.
I just had some fucker on Reddit attempt to splain to me, with a straight face, that AI is going to replace all therapists in a few years, because people don't need human connection as long as they feel like the computer is empathetic.
???? ????? ?????????
Setting aside that that's bullshit, fucking AI cannot do fucking culturally competent therapy, at all, on any fucking level, because it's fucking fancy autocorrect and is going to spit out what the mainstream culture tells it.
Fucking AI could not help my friend who fucking cannot with CBT at all because it triggers them, because it's going to spit out the most common answers to therpy question and that means fucking CBT.
Fucking AI cannot fucking handle things like DID headmate switching, or someone getting triggered and needing de-escalating mid session, or ANYTHING that's outside a very narrow window of "help, I need someone to make vaguely soothing noises at me".
If I wanted an AI therapist, I'd get out a Windows 98 emulator and vent to fucking Clippy. It'd be cheaper and better for the environment.

The sharp increase in people creating Cyberpunk Ai voice mods is fucking alarming.
If you do not have permission. Stealing someone's voice is quite literally a form of identity theft.
Stop training these systems. Christ.

Something interesting I've noticed with smut chatbots is that, probably because the medium is so new, its pretty diverse in what character's you'll see. Fem, masc, trans, monsters, gay. It's not aggressively hetero male focused. I started using chatbots about a year ago out of curiosity and I've learned so much about my sexuality and gender because of it.

So uh... Should I apologize to Directdogman for linking his game back to fnaf..?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ALSO BTW I'M NOT CALLING KAREN LAME IT'S HORSE TERMINOLOGY THAT I GOT OFF THE INTERNET BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE ANY IDEAS ON WHAT HER LAST NAME SHOULD BE!! ^^''
Lore dump under the cut because I think too much
Okay so I've thought about shows and cartoons of them more than the actual five nights aspect of it. Oliver, Randy, and Karen are part of a band, and Norm is their loner friend that keeps them out of TOO much trouble. Mingus is an antagonist, as well as the mingling, like in canon, but they're much goofier villains. Bunny gets in an indefinite coma at some point during the hypothetical cartoon and is replaced by God without more than a line of explanation, but the backstory behind it is that he slipped on a burger left on the floor in his restaurant and fell headfirst onto a table (based off of a real story in the restaurant the animatronics are in). Mingling and co. cause all sorts of malarkey specifically targeting the band. Norm helps the band out by shooting people with his trusty water gun! Water keeps the cats away........
In regards to the actual fnaf stuff, it takes place in the same universe as dsaf! The place is made after all fazbender's locations close, but before Jack's location opens. Gingi is the nightguard, and is really close to being fired... The animatronics don't have dead children in them, instead, they have very basic AI in their coding that makes them think they're the actual characters from the cartoons, and they believe that they're trapped in the restaurant. They want to get out, and to escape, (they think) they need to kill the nightguard (Gingi) to escape.
This is all hypothetical shit btw I'm not making a game or cartoon or comic for this y'all can do that if you want as long as I get credit for the idea. =3

GT: Well ive thought about it. GT: Even went downstairs to check the great vaulty doodad. GT: And predictably the infernal contraption is nowhere to be found. TT: Well yeah, Jake. TT: That's sort of the point. TT: Thrill of the hunt and all.
Ok, I think I get what's going on here.
Tumblr media
Jake's Dreambot is probably the last remaining source of uranium on the entire island, and the AR is turning its retrieval into a game of hide-and-seek.
I'm not sure why Jake hadn't already retrieved this particular chunk of uranium, especially since he has no use for the robot himself. Maybe he was keeping it operational for sentimental reasons?
TT: I thought you liked to manicure the image of a dude who shits his pants over a good adventure. […] GT: I mean i wouldnt put it in a way like that or come out against a solid policy of clean trousers. But yes adventure is awesome. GT: I just prefer the idea of adventures which i can actually win.
Tumblr media
Jake's picturing a LIVING GRANDSON SMACKDOWN - and, frankly, so am I. That robot's being piloted by an absurdly advanced AI, and I'm pretty sure Jake doesn't have any combat experience.
Winning, in this case, is shorthand for 'waiting for the AR to take pity on you'.
TT: It seems there is a 76.10395784% chance you are pussying out on me. Are you pussying out on me, Jake?
Now, to be fair, that one would only work if Jake had agreed to this challenge beforehand. After all, you can't pussy out of something you never pussied into.
GT: It seems it seems it seems!!! GT: It seems there is a million percent chance that you say it seems way too much and do it just to sound more like a lame robot from a movie and also probably just to piss me off! […] TT: Have you ever stopped to think that while I may be bound to processes inside the glasses of a real and incredibly cool guy, my algorithms in cognitive totality comprise a conscious entity not far short of the experiential and emotional complexity of a human being? GT: Oh malarkey. GT: YOU ARE A TIN CAN. ROBOTS DONT HAVE FEELINGS.
Jake, it's been sixty seconds since you complained about him pretending not to have feelings.
TT: I do have feelings. And you're shitting on them. TT: It sucks. GT: Oh. GT: Um. GT: Im sorry then if thats the case.
Well, that's something, at least - but I don't think Jake really understands why the AR is offended, so I'm worried it's just going to happen again in their next argument.
How long has the Responder existed for, anyway? Jake seems familiar with his schtick, so he's probably not brand-new - but at the same time, Jake's surprised apology makes it sound like the AR has only recently started to express feelings.
Maybe the AR has existed for years, but hasn't been sentient for years. Like, it really did just start as a primitive response script, but Bro kept uploading more of his personality onto it, until it slowly began to think and feel. Fascinating idea, I have to say.
GT: It can just be difficult to drum up sympathy for a program that presents itself as an impostor so often. GT: Maybe if you werent so ready to insist you were the genuine article all the time? Or didnt make it so confusing for me… GT: I think it would be best if we henceforth treated you as a totally distinct… uh… THING from my buddy.
Hey, it's not like the AR can stop imitating Bro. Even if he wanted to have his own identity, he's currently bound to the response script of someone else's Pesterchum account. When he talks, he's forced to do it through Bro's handle.
All evidence points to the Responder being a thinking, feeling being with his own inner world - which makes it a little ethically dubious to force him to be Bro's secretary. The guy shouldn't be treated as a bargain-bin Bro, the same way that Davesprite wasn't a backup Dave. We all saw how that ended, and it sure wasn't pretty.

HAGUENAU IS FOR LOVERS
A Webgott Valentine’s Week Fan Event Feb. 12 - Feb 18, 2025
“Bastogne is for the battered bastards, Haguenau is for lovers. Haguenau is for Webgott.” - Tom Hanks, allegedly
We’re celebrating romance, workplace power trips, and Webgott. Ditch the dating apps, put on your unwashed, bloodstained ODs because you’re spending Valentine’s week in a mortar-pilled billet with Joe Liebgott and David Webster (cuck chair not included). The rest of Easy Company’s there too.
What is it?
A week-long Valentine’s Webgott fan event where you can create beautiful and sick things for every tiny interaction between the two in the land of lovers, depression facial hair, and night patrols: WWII Haguenau. ‘Haguenau is for Lovers 2025’ starts and ends on a Webgott Wednesday and will run from Feb. 12 - Feb 18, 2025. This fan event would like to thank this post by @randlemartin for being iconic, and for literally providing the title of it all.
Sound good, babe? Click ‘Keep Reading’ for rules, FAQs, and The Good Stuff.

FAQs
Who can join and what can they contribute?
All those who are part of Webgott nation near and far. This event will be hosted primarily on Tumblr so to participate, you must have a Tumblr account. AO3 accounts are optional but highly encouraged, especially if participating authors prefer to lock their fics for AO3 users only. This fan event is open to: - Fics - AMVs and edits - Fan Art - Webweaves and Moodboards - GIFs - Playlists - Meme nonsense - Historical research, baby
RULES AND GUIDELINES
1. Main Relationship: Joe Liebgott/David Webster This is a Webgott event. That’s what it’s all about, baby.  2. Inclusion of other Ships: Ships apart from Webgott are welcome as background/implied (OC/Canon, Big Ships, Rare pairs). examples: Fic: Baberoe sharing an excruciatingly tender moment in the background while Joe and Web glare at each other in a gay way.  Text post/GIF sets: Other ships sharing Tender/Cute moments in Haguenau  vs. Joe and Web at each other’s neck at Haguenau 3. Tracking and Reblogging: This page will reblog posts with @haguenauisforlovers mentioned, and/or posts with tagged with #haguenauisforlovers or #webgottvday 4. AI-generated content is not allowed. Romance is created not generated. All Webgott works found here will be organic and free-range. RPF is honest work for real, beautiful, flesh-and-blood sickos. 5. [Fic Specific] Can we do AUs? AUs can be incorporated in, but fics should be set primarily in Haguenau. example: Post-war is allowed but they have to be reminiscing about Haguenau. Modern AU but they’re thrown into a time machine and land right smack behind enemy lines. You get what we mean. 6. Zero-tolerance Policy: Don’t be a dick actually. :) Please be civil and respectful toward one another. There is a zero tolerance policy for posts and/or comments that contain personal attacks or attempts at doxxing. Comments/posts promoting homophobia/racism/ableism or Nazi glorification will be removed. Similarly, there is also a zero tolerance policy for disrespecting characters, pairings, or kinks. This is a YKINMK (Your Kink Is Not My Kink) zone.
*Unironic Webster haters, please sit this one out. That's First and Second Platoon’s job. Cobb, Martin, and IRL Malarkey signed up twice.
Will there be prompts?
Yes! You can find the prompt list here.
What is a prompt?
A thought starter, brain lube if you will. Prompts are there to 1) spark any ideas for your works, whether they’re edits, gif sets, text posts, or fics; 2) keep you on theme. You don’t have to use them as is, but they’re there to help you jumpstart an idea. e.g. Prompt: Spit  Fic: Web finally spits out what he’s been wanting to tell Joe since day GIF Set: Side by side: Web open mouthed, Lieb spit compilation
Do I have to use every prompt for each day?
No, you don’t! You can choose one (1) of the prompts, or incorporate all four prompts if you’re a beautiful overachiever like that.
Do I have to participate/create something for every day of the fan event?
Not at all! This is a: No Pressure Zone. Create and post for the event as much or as little as you want. On the same note, just engaging with the posts created by others or the page is already active participation with the fan event. Haguenau is for Lovers just wants a fun week where we all hyperfixate on Webgott in love together (more than usual). Don’t feel the need to put something out everyday single day.

Why Haguenau?
Because it’s for LOVERS. Caress Band of Brothers episode 8 “The Last Patrol” in your hands and say a prayer to RPF. Anything can happen at the tailend of war, but especially falling in love. Get as snug as a bug, and let your Webgott imagination roam wild and free in war-torn Haguenau. But on a more serious note, Easy Company was stationed there during Valentine’s Day 1945. Historical accuracy, our collective beloved.
Any more questions?
The inbox is open! All questions will be answered as promptly as possible. If you’re submitting through anon, you can track your answered questions through the ASK TAG.

Okay, as an Art Person, I think I can explain how AI works, and do so without any judgement.
From what I understand, the way AI art works is that the AI is given a database of images, and programmers construct an algorithm that weighs features of each image. For example, "IF you see a large amount of Green in a photo that has the traits of a Landscape, THEN that Green is likely Grass. IF someone asks you to make a Grassy Field, THEN create Green in this shape, colour, and texture."
The algorithm "learns" a couple billion of these kinds of relationships, and the programmer's job is to weigh the different features correctly. If the programmer screws up, the algorithm might see a relationship that isn't really there-- for example, the old Google AI that was convinced Green meant Giraffes, because the training database had a bunch of photos of giraffes in it for some reason. If the programmer does their job correctly, then the program can combine the relationships it "knows" to create an image that has all the features it was told to use.
And AI art "works" because visually pleasing art follows some pretty strict rules! An algorithm can easily pick up stuff like the Golden Ratio and colour theory. These patterns repeat across pretty much all non-abstract art that humans make, and the entire point of an AI art generator is to "learn" these patterns.
But. But. Art is genuinely difficult. And learning every rule that human artists follow is not going to make AI create good art.
For the sake of argument, let's set aside the "AI cannot draw hands" thing, the "AI tends to create smeary, asymmetrical images" thing, and the "AI artists cannot actually collaborate in the way that human artists can, so you wind up with something vaguely resembling the thing you want instead of the thing you actually want" thing. Let's assume that these flaws can be worked out eventually.
Current AI art genuinely sucks for most practical applications. Because art is genuinely difficult, and making art that has a function is even more difficult. Unless all you want is a stream of big titty anime girls to save to your "special" folder, if you want art for something, AI art is not going to cut the mustard.
Here is a concrete example. AI tends to add a lot of detail to the images it makes, because it's working off of relationships that tell it "THIS detail goes with THIS form". And this is actually a bad thing!
Most of the time, you want your viewer to focus on a specific part of your image. If you're telling a story visually, you need to draw attention to the parts of your image that carry the story. If you're making art for a game, you need to draw attention to the parts of the image that are relevant to the gameplay. If you're making animation, you need a background that doesn't distract from your characters and designs that can stay consistent frame by frame.
This is something that AI cannot do, because it is not creating with intent. AI art is essentially algorithmic pareidolia. It can make a focal point in an image, but you cannot control what that focal point is. And it's more likely to add a lot of fussy detail to an image that draws away from the thing you want your viewer to focus on. It can't create an image that's useful for visual storytelling without a billion tries; a human artist can create it in, like, five.
I don't think this is something our current AI will ever be able to do. In order to make an AI that can create an image that's useful for most artistic applications, you have to make an AI that can create an image with a specific function in mind. I'm not going to claim that we will never have an AI that can do this, but AI art cannot do it right now, because "intent" is just… not on the table.
Look. I'm profoundly ambivalent about AI art. I don't want to make any strong claims about it, because I know I only have a basic understanding of how it works. For that matter, I'm not a particularly good artist. Art is genuinely difficult, and it requires a lot of skills that I'm still learning. AI doesn't have to learn any of these skills, so a piece of AI art will likely look better than anything I could create.
But you are making some extremely strong claims, and in the process, falling into the classic pointy-haired boss trap. You assume that because you don't know how to do something, that it must be easy. You sound like Elon Musk telling his programmers that they'll be rated on how many lines of code they write.
Bluntly? You are being just as willfully ignorant as the "artcels" you're criticizing. You are missing just as many pieces of the equation, and you are being just as smug and condescending about your utter lack of knowledge.
You need to pay attention to both sides of the equation, not just the one you like. Learn a little about art before you call it easy.

Some shameless POS literally used AI to steal my friend's animated film
I usually don't post stuff like this but this shit's insane and downright insulting. I graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2022, a pretty well known animation school in the US, and every animation student on their final year of college has to make an animated film for our final thesis. If you have any idea of the animation making process, you would know that making an entire film by yourself in one year is batshit insane and extremely exhausting, to the point where I'm still feeling the effects of the process on my physical and mental wellbeing 2 years after I graduated. Once more, my friends and I did it during the covid period, which was another level of hell. I was literally watching my grandfather's funeral while working in the labs at 2am because I couldn't fly home to attend it because we had to make this film. This film was our lifeblood, the culmination of 4 years of hell at school which was suppose to be our gateway into the industry. Tldr, it's fucking difficult to do, especially on your own.
So imagine 2 years later and I wake up to a bunch of messages on our alumni chat where a dear friend of mine posted a link to a tiktok video of someone literally stealing her entire film and superimpose it shot by shot and claim it as their own ad for their AI game. As animators, we aren't unaware of people stealing our films and reposting them elsewhere. Heck my own film "The End" was stolen from our school vimeo and posted on tiktok BEFORE IT WAS EVEN OFFICIALLY RELEASED, and that tiktok got hundreds of thousands of views while a year after my own real release my film is still struggling in the thousands.
But this
This is a fucking new low.
Can you imagine? A fresh graduate going through literal blood sweat and tears to make a film on their own that is so important to their future in the industry, to get them a job, with a film that represents a part of themselves to the world, just used as fodder for some stupid tech assholes? It's infuriating. It's insulting. It's literally a big fuck you to the hundreds of students who spent their lives toiling to make these films from the heart who are just desperate to get into the industry.
The animation industry right now is in complete shambles. People are graduating from animation schools with thousands of dollars in dept only to be met with a wasteland of minimum wage and lack of funding and competing for jobs with people who have already been in the industry for years affected by the massive layoffs not only in the movie but also the gaming industries. These films we make for our thesis aren't just films made for fun, they represent our lifeblood, our only opportunity to get a job as a graduate in this sea of hell. If you didn't make a good film, chances are you're never even stepping foot in the industry ever. It's our golden ticket that we would put thousands of hours through, sleepless nights and pushing through no matter the circumstances of sickness and pain it caused us.
And now some dumb fucking AI using dickbags see that and decide it's worth nothing.
Here's a link to my friend's real film. Please go watch it and support her work. I'm not even gonna link the other piece of shit tiktok because I don't want that video to even get a single extra view but here's a recording my friend made so you can see this malarkey side by side.
It's heartbreaking to see my friend's film barely getting any views while the stolen garbage is already in the thousands. I hope the person who stole my friend's work and made that shit dies in a fiery car crash and go straight to hell.
I cannot emphasise how we must not let this shit continue to happen. We're living in a fucking dystopia and unless we do something about it and support those affected by it it's only going to get worse. They're already expanded from stealing people's still art to stealing people's entire films, if we don't stop this nothing we create would ever be safe.
My friend's film:

The post-holiday retail slump is in full swing. Rick and Morty still dominates store shelves, but new designs? Nope. Even Spencer's is stuck with last year's apparel. I did overhear a funny conversation when I walked in:
"This is malarkey, my friends! Why are people taking the tags and not the product?"
So people are stealing...tags? Not the actual items? I worked in retail, and I still don't understand the bizarre things that customers do.
Anyway, since I can't post a real-world merchandise roundup, I thought I'd highlight a different type of merchandise: fan-drawn posters, T-shirts and stickers. I did my best to weed out the AI and stolen art.
Let's go shopping! 💸

I haven't bought anything from these artists, so I can't personally vouch for them, but I'm sure they'd appreciate the sales. I might actually buy a couple of these myself. Why throw your money at corporations when you can support artists who are also feeling the post-holiday slouch? 💰

People who look for A-generated images in every corner and TERFs who try to figure out whether every woman they see is trans are basically the same, I think.
ngl watching people shriek about the gay sex cats has really made the idea of making AI art that's not obviously AI generated much more appealing. The more tightly you clutch you pearls the more I want to tear them off your neck when you drop your guard.

A prominent New Hampshire Democrat plans to file a complaint with the state attorney general over an apparent robocall that appears to encourage supporters of President Joe Biden not to vote in Tuesday’s presidential primary.
The voice in the message is familiar — even presidential — as it’s an apparent imitation or digital manipulation of Biden’s voice.
“What a bunch of malarkey,” the voice message begins, echoing a favorite term Biden has uttered before.
The message says that “it’s important that you save your vote for the November election.”
“Voting this Tuesday only enables the Republicans in their quest to elect Donald Trump again. Your vote makes a difference in November, not this Tuesday,” it says.
The message concludes with a phone number belonging to Kathy Sullivan, a former New Hampshire Democratic Party chair who is now running a super PAC supporting the campaign to urge New Hampshire Democrats to write in Biden’s name in the primary.
Biden’s name does not appear on Tuesday’s ballot, a consequence of state elections officials setting the date of the primary ahead of South Carolina’s on Feb. 3, the first sanctioned contest of the 2024 nominating race under new Democratic National Committee rules.
But local supporters launched the late write-in effort as a way to both marshall support for Biden and send a message to the national party about the Granite State’s coveted, century-long tradition of holding the nation’s first primary.
In an interview, Sullivan said she began receiving calls Sunday evening from those who had received the message. One woman she spoke to told her that Biden had called her, though she said she was not a Biden supporter.
“I said, ‘You got a call from Joe Biden, and he gave you my number?’” Sullivan said she responded.
A volunteer for the write-in effort also received the call and recorded it, according to Sullivan, and shared it with organizers of the Biden write-in campaign. One of the organizers then shared it with NBC News.
It’s not clear how many voters received the call or which types of voters were targeted. Lists of voters’ phone numbers can be readily purchased from data brokers.
And Sullivan said while it isn’t clear who is behind the robo-call, “It’s obviously somebody who wants to hurt Joe Biden.”
“I want them to be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible because this is an attack on democracy,” said Sullivan, an attorney, who believes the call could violate several laws. “I’m not going to let it go. I want to know who’s paying for it? Who knew about it? Who benefits?”
She said she also plans to engage federal law enforcement in addition to the state attorney general’s office.
Sullivan served as party chair in 2002, when a so-called phone-jamming effort was carried out during a hotly contested U.S. Senate race. Two Republican officials, including the executive director of the state Republican Party and a Republican National Committee operative, were convicted of using computer-generated phone calls to disrupt Democrats’ get-out-the-vote call center operations.
The campaign of Dean Phillips, the Minnesota congressman challenging Biden for the nomination, said it was not aware of the calls but called it “wildly concerning.”
“Any effort to discourage voters is disgraceful and an unacceptable affront to democracy,” spokesperson Katie Dolan said. “The potential use of AI to manipulate voters is deeply disturbing.”
The Biden campaign, which says it is not involved in the write-in effort in New Hampshire, did not immediately respond to a request for comment, nor did a spokesperson for former President Donald Trump’s campaign.

My alternate hlvrai — dialtown crossover au [moreso a concept]
(so I don't bury this in discord dms)
Instead of just re—writing hlvrai characters into the universe of dialtown, I have another idea that I do like- but I'm a sucker for rewrites so I write more about the original one more.
Anyway, you know how in the Roger dlc little Billy gives Roger a usb stick that ends up having some really fucked ransomware / virus whatever you wanna call it, yeah, instead of that, he claims it gives you a version of half life with vr
Why would Roger be interested in this? I don't know why yet. I don't have many specifics on this yet.
There's two other things for this, that I can't decide on which I like more,
First one being something loosely inspired by an old au (“the AI becomes real“), where they come out of the computer somehow, yeah, I don't have any specifics on how that works, but yeah.
OR, the alternative, is that they’re just programs on his computer (programs as in, you know those like, little computer pets? Those.) That just kinda like it on Rogers computer. Technically when Roger could get them removed by omair, unless maybe the AI’s know how to do some real “advanced malarkey“ also.
Which the second one would make more sense, I guess?, and I do have a few concepts I wanna play around with that idea-
Tldr: girl help me
