JOURNEY TO THE PAST MIRABEL MADRIGAL AI COVER (ANASTASIA’S VILLAIN SONG)

✨MIRABEL'S VILLAIN STORY✨

Mirabel has always tried to be understanding, tried to accept that her family was meant to shine and she was meant to blend into the background. She tried to be loving and kind and helpful but her family responded to that kindness with cruelty. They refused to see Mirabel as a valued member of the family and in our story instead of forgiving and trying to connect with her family Mirabel rejects them.

Our Mirabel has allowed her disdain and hatred to grow, and now that darkness blinds her. Her pure heart tarnished by bitterness and her mind set on revenge. If they won’t see her as a valued member of the family then she’ll take away that which they treasure most. To be loved and valued less than a candle, it’s laughable really.

Every single member of her family saw Mirabel’s suffering, saw Bruno’s suffering and chose to ignore it. And so they are no longer worthy of her love, no longer deserving of all the sacrifices Mirabel has made to make this family work. And so, the thing they love and value most will be taken from them. Maybe then they’ll learn what truly matters, that is if they make it out alive.

And so it’s about time Mirabel placed a mirror in front of her family, showing them exactly what she sees. As she slips silently through the streets her mind turns towards the family and life she could’ve had if things had gone differently. And so, as she wanders, Mirabel plots another path to the throne, if she couldn’t convince her grandmother of her legitimacy she would have to force Encanto under her rule. She had never desired the throne, but she had been too powerless for too long, she refused to allow anyone to have the opportunity to determine her fate ever again.

As Mirabel dwells on her feelings, she grows bitter and resentful towards Bruno for lying to her, Abuela Alma for rejecting her. She grows angry and vengeful, swearing to reclaim what rightfully belongs to her and make her family pay. She develops a plot.

And so Mirabel’s plan begins, and so she sets a trap on a snowy bridge.

‘They abandoned me, Abuela, Bruno, my family, I have nothing left’ Crocodile tears fall as eyes zone in on the reliquary lay alone on a cushion as Mirabel creeps again closer.

Once close enough, Mirabel grabs for the reliquary, snatching it from off and makes a run for it. She runs and runs until she finally feels safe enough to stop. For a second she is perplexed, surely the reliquary’s spirits should have attacked her by now? But nothing, if anything they seem perfectly calm within her grasp. And so she speaks to the demons inside.

‘I don't know if you can hear me, but I have a deal for you’ She whispers into the night.

‘Make me the most powerful person in this entire Encanto, so that no one can ever take what is mine from me ever again, and I will rise up as empress and allow you the true power you deserve, over an entire empire’

Some time later, Mirabel uses her newfound dark powers to kidnap Bruno and Abuela Alma. She usurps the throne, convincing her family she was welcomed back.

Mirabel arriving at a grand party held in Casita, where she was announced as the new Empress of Encanto. Mirabel greeted the partygoers, calmly declaring herself to be Encanto's new queen, and coyly speaking of her status as a "legend and mystery" as she walked across the room. However, Mirabel suddenly turned heel by revealing she had acquired the reliquary. Mirabel cemented her reveal as an evil sorceress by summoning demons from the reliquary to terrorize the partygoers and chase them out of the palace. As the panicking citizens fled while being attacked by the demons, Mirabel declared she was taking her revenge upon she confronts and condemns her family for treating her so poorly and casting her out like her uncle Bruno.

She then ascended to the upper floors of the palace, stepping out onto a balcony to summon more demons to ravage the civilians below, which included children. As Mirabel proclaimed they deserved to suffer for her family for treating her so poorly and casting her out, the evil spirits of her late relatives appeared behind her, summoned by the reliquary only to disappear before she could talk to them. Mirabel reflected on how Abuela Alma and Bruno had both turned their backs on her, with the rejections contributing to her heel turn.

The now-enraged Mirabel entered the dining room of the palace where she was holding Abuela Alma and Bruno as captives, tied to chairs. Vowing to make Encanto suffer forever for her family for treating her so poorly and casting her out, Mirabel declared them would be her "brand new family" as they struggled in their bonds, whether they like it or not. Abuela Alma glares, but Mirabel grabs her with a terrifying grin.

Consumed by her desire for retribution, Mirabel, her eyes now glowing a sickly green, uses the reliquary to send her demons across the entire country, cackling with terrible sadistic delight.
