OK so let me explain some of my placements (this is all a mix of canon and headcanon)

(EXPLICITLY GAY) Pandy is basically canon, Rob x Julien was likely a thing in the past. Horst earns his spot for ONE line - "He had me at *sips* BOOTY!" so he likes Julien ass

(SOME LEVEL OF GAY) "Uncle" falls in love with a woman because she's masculine. SMort & Morticus by association, they ARE Mort, so they share the same foot fetish for Julien, even if they've "overcome" it. Hans & Sage both have relationships (x Mort and x Manhawk, respectively) that debatably could just be friendships. Bruce likes woman with facial hair, that's something

(MAYBE GAY) Abner seems to have feelings for "Banana Guy Mike"

(STRAIGHT) Butterfish is straight & married, but frankly probably wouldn't mind anything that went on with his body. The dolphins & Koto are straight, but wouldn't be against giving other things a try. Timo's just desperate for female love. Barty's just a straight, married guy minding his own business. On the other hand, Grandpa Mort's an unspoken homophobe. Snake was litcherally manifested by Ted's DID to be the straightest man possible

(ACE) I think Maurice is a clean man (he doesn't make ONE innuendo the entire show), but he might just be keeping his sex life with Julien private. Fred & especially Willy are too innocent for this. As for Hector, I think part of the reason he hates life is because he never got it on, and (probably) never had kids

The biggest question that was never answered in ahkj, who is Todd's biological father cause Butterfish is his stepdad...

Who indeed 🤔 Todd is not a normal child, that’s for certain. What kind of lemur could father such hellspawn… perhaps… not a lemur at all? Tammy is rather obsessed with the supernatural and iirc has made multiple references to Todd either being demonic himself or being possessed (see S4 e4 for one such instance). I think Todd’s father could be a demon.

(i'm tpommi) so yeah i saw your tags on the mort attraction thing and just to let you know i agree 100% on ALL of your points

Yeah. There'd be absolutely nothing wrong with his character or even him being attracted to men in his typically weird Mort fashion if he wasn't . One of the only examples of demonstrating mlm attraction in the entire show. Like if you just gave King Julien or someone a boyfriend it'd probably be fine, except even then I think Mort would still be on tenuous ground for upholding homophobic archetypes/stereotypes

A lot of stuff can be written off as like your typical Plausible Deniability that your writers like to play with, but there was another scene that I think abandoned plausible deniability altogether. (The one where mort had a picture of KJ's feet by the side of his bed and... Yeah). And when the veneer of plausible deniability disappears it can get verry uncomfortable to watch!

If we lived in a perfect world where there were never harmful ideas about gay men it wouldn't be an issue... Ahhh. :/ I don't think it was the writer's intent or at least I like to think it wasn't for it to come across in the kinda homophobic way it does sometimes.

I have other issues with the show like they tried to do an episode about safe spaces and it was obviously supposed to be a Critique of sorts. Also idk how to feel about Butterfish, at the very least I think the show's humour dipped into ableism(?) at one point with him(?) When Tammy mentions that he gets "disability cheques" in the mail (THE LEMURS HAVE A WELFARE SYSTEM APPARENTLY? lol) and Butterfish is like "not my fault my spine grew back" see I'm not actually sure how I'm supposed to feel about those lines. They're dripping with typical ahkj nonsensical surrealist humour, I get on the surface where the joke is, but doesn't that imply Butterfish is ??? Abusing the welfare system or something???? Idek. I don't know. I am a little bit uncomfortable with the portrayal of Butterfish because apparently there's like, racial stuff going on there, but I am not able to articulate very deeply on it and don't have the tools to do so. In the end I don't actually know how I'm supposed to feel about him.
