I think that Julien always had his little place in the jungle where he ran to while feeling upset or sad (because of his uncle or parents) - and little Momo would often join him here :)) Even though they are different species, they compliment each other and are each others' little found family - like chess pieces, seemingly different, but the same at heart

and YES i wanted to include Clover to have the full royal trio but also wanted to focus on Julien's childhood, cuz i think he was "pampered" but in the neglectful way, the "my parents allow me to do whatever I want always" (because they don't care, but the child thinks the parents are super cool not strict etc) And Maurice was "the outcast" so he was probably often scolded, stricly raised and treated with disdain (((because I have a little headcanon that he was raised with julien by his parents when they were really small because Julien WOULDN'T LET GO and would keep crying when his Momo was away so they just gave up for peace, and when they left Uncle Julien separated them and hired Maurice as Julien's caretaker when they were older)))))

I wrote about the piece of jungle that Julien likes to escape to - that's because the song I chose is about a special place you can run away to that brings you comfort, and you can always meet your family and closest people there :)) It's like a Sacred place, hence the title - Sacrum

This really feels like coming full circle to me. In the summer of 2019 I realized that the 5th anniversary of AHKJ was coming up and started planning to make a fitting tribute. I came up with the idea to make a video using Pop Danthology 2012 and having sections with all the seasons. I looked around online to see if anything was planned to celebrate the event and didn't find anything. I posted on tumblr an idea for an event. This all resulted in celebrating All Hail King Julien week in December 2019. The following year since I wanted to celebrate TPoM's anniversary too and since the dates were pretty close together, Madagascar Party was born. So now here I am 5 years after having a video idea to celebrate AHKJ's 5th anniversary changed my life, got me more involved in the fandom, and gave me some of the best friends I have ever had. And here we are at the 10th anniversary of a show I love so dearly. I made this year's tribute with Pop Danthology 2015 and I hope everyone enjoys it!

AHKJ: Exiled was such a disappointment honestly; the entire show is just a Clover x Sage Moondancer slow burn fanfiction that mischaracterizes Clover and gives her an arc her character didn't need.

It should've been about KJ overcoming his egocentric self-pride; he should've been the one to go through the "quest" Clover did. That scene where KJ mourned Maurice's "death" should've been more developed, but instead there were 2 episodes of Clover being brainwashed into a trap she already knew about (remember when she caught onto the Crocodile Embassador's attempt of "educating" Madagascar with his etiquette guide?)

At least Uncle KJ and Koto were good villains. Karl was the cherry on top.
