Madaparty theme 7 - Family

I think that Julien always had his little place in the jungle where he ran to while feeling upset or sad (because of his uncle or parents) - and little Momo would often join him here :)) Even though they are different species, they compliment each other and are each others' little found family - like chess pieces, seemingly different, but the same at heart

and YES i wanted to include Clover to have the full royal trio but also wanted to focus on Julien's childhood, cuz i think he was "pampered" but in the neglectful way, the "my parents allow me to do whatever I want always" (because they don't care, but the child thinks the parents are super cool not strict etc) And Maurice was "the outcast" so he was probably often scolded, stricly raised and treated with disdain (((because I have a little headcanon that he was raised with julien by his parents when they were really small because Julien WOULDN'T LET GO and would keep crying when his Momo was away so they just gave up for peace, and when they left Uncle Julien separated them and hired Maurice as Julien's caretaker when they were older)))))

I wrote about the piece of jungle that Julien likes to escape to - that's because the song I chose is about a special place you can run away to that brings you comfort, and you can always meet your family and closest people there :)) It's like a Sacred place, hence the title - Sacrum

The absolute fear in my heart when I see a fandom email in my inbox. But now I’m just friggin tired.

To the person who keeps editing King Julien’s wiki page to include an absolutely unnecessary amount of ancestors and to claim that Maurice is Julien’s adopted brother, I can keep reverting your edits all day.

Headcanons are not fandom fact. No where does it ever say the royal family adopted him. Headcanons aren’t gospel and frankly it ruins the fun for people that ship Jaurice/Jumo (and, understandably, upsets them and makes them uncomfortable). I may not ship it myself, but I don’t want to see that ruined for people because you want your interpretation seen as fact.

I’m not one to want to cause discourse, but I’m putting this out there.

For angst I made this edit focusing on the most heartbreaking scene in All Hail King Julien. It's amazing how emotional they made this scene even though watching it we always knew Maurice wouldn't really die. But the fact that Julien and Maurice don't know that and the way Julien screams no when Maurice falls just hits me hard so much emotion 😭😭😭😭😭

WEEKEND ARTINGS: Clearwater Jazz Holiday, Ybor Arts Tour, Fall Fests and more

There's so much stuff happening this weekend, I almost don't know where to begin. But visual art is kind of my brand, so let's start there.

My weekend begins early, on a Thursday, with the Second Annual Ybor Arts Tour. I had a blast on the inaugural art tour last year, which took me to the historic Ybor City Kress Building, The Bricks, and HCC Ybor, all of which I plan to revisit this year. There's so much going on at this year's Ybor Arts Tour, it could be its own blog, but instead I'm going to refer you to Christopher Curry's fantastic preview in 83 Degrees. HCC Ybor City Campus, Performing Arts building, Tampa. Thurs. Oct. 19, 5-9 p.m.

Clearwater Jazz Holiday starts Thursday with a performance from The Beach Boys. The Sound, Coachman Park, Clearwater. Thurs.-Sun. Oct. 19-22.

Hocus Focus and Art After Dark collide at Fairgrounds St. Pete on Friday night. This month's edition of Art After Dark spotlights local artist Jaurice Moore, formerly known as INDIE REECE, a self-taught painter, digital artist, and muralist. Fairgrounds, St. Pete. Fri. Oct. 20, 7-9 p.m.
