Whew! I went back and forth on this so much but ultimately decided on this for her final look. I couldn't picture her as a hippie nor the more go go dancer girl or even the punk fashion of the decade.

However, she's sort of giving 'cool aunt who drives a yellow punch buggy blasting The Doors'. Probably has an untuned acoustic guitar lying around that she swears she's going to pick back up but never does.

I wasn't sure exactly which decade of the Victorian era would best suit Gloria but I was inspired by @chere-indolente's sets for the 1880s. Here are both an everyday look for Gloria as a late Victorian teenage girl and a formal look for a night out. Rather than attending movies, she'd be interested in watching her favorite stage plays or ballets, and enjoy poring over fashion magazines and daydreaming about the glamorous fashions from Paris.

❄️: What is the most intricate or detailed thing you ever had to do for your story?

I think you'll not be surprised to hear Lilith and Caleb's big vampire party! It was definitely quite an undertaking to pose that many Sims, and I had to take lots of breaks and do it over the course of many days to get through it. Also, even though they look simple, the scenes of Helena researching vampires after being turned because I did a lot of extra writing and editing for Caleb's letter, Lilith's Wiki page, the book cover and excerpts, etc.

12 | Do you actually play the game or just use it as a storytelling medium?

I used to only ever play and post gameplay shots, but with this story I've found myself leaning much more towards less gameplay and more shooting for posts. That being said, if there are days left in a season and I'm in a gameplay mood, I will spend some time playing out my pixel babies' lives! I think the biggest shift I've had in my playing since starting this story is 'allowing' myself to skip things, cheat the season, cheat needs, etc. to get to the next shoot, rather than forcing myself to play when I'm not in the mood.

25 | What inspirations have you drawn on for your story?

I love this question so much!! I have SO many inspirations for this story (of course including the Darlingtons!), from period dramas I love, historical events I'm interested in, to my own personal non-sims story, which will never get written but lives in my head rent free 🥲. Currently the biggest inspirations for this generation are Anne With An E and Little Women, especially as I'm not American but have chosen to start my story in the US.

Hmm ok this one is actually hard because so much of the story only exists in my head... But something fun that I haven't really elaborated on yet is Meg and Kit's full names. I have a thing for old-fashioned names that have nicknames, so Meg's full name is actually Margaret Anne, and Kit's is Christopher James.

💐 : What is their courting style? How would they woo someone?

I'm perfectly normal about this topic

First things first, if you don't know him it looks like he's constantly courting everyone around him. As he flirts to breathe, he breathes to flirt. He's a canonical Greek man. You can tell he's actually trying to woo you when you start feeling like you are the center of the world, and nothing can stop you when you're around him. Alika is very expansive and loving both when he flirts for fun and "seriously" but when he wants someone he really gives anything for and to them. Alika's romantic love is typically a flash in the pan since she loves tenderly, fully, but only for a short time.

5. What type of cc do you hoard?

Hair cc, without a doubt. I have wayyyyy too much hair cc (particularity female hair). I can't help myself, it's all just so pretty!

13. what do you do when you are unmotivated?

I'm probably not the best to ask this at the moment, because what I do is just give myself a break, lol. I don't try to force myself to create or do things when I feel unmotivated, because I feel like that will reflect in what I make. I'll play a different game, watch a show, read a book, listen to music and just give myself time to clear my head and come back to it later :)

🗺️- What’s your favorite thing about the current era or location your sims are in?"

I'm in the 1910s but as a historical simmer I can't help but really enjoy playing country/lower income households.

I enjoy farming and the Victorian aesthetic is still there despite being in Edwardian era. I find 1890s are always so fun to start and I'm glad I can basically relive that era a bit with a different change of scenery.

I couldn't start in a wild west save so the Doyle's currently living in Chestnut makes up for it lol!

I'm gonna split this ask up a bit over the household! might be a bit more than 3 lol

Lucile's worst trait - Clumsy! Not even for story reason it takes her 10x to do anything since she's always dropping things or tripping.

Josephine's worst trait - Materialistic

Josephine does love Lucile and has had a rough family life as well but it's always been more cushy that most sims get to experience due to her family's class. She's struggling to settle for living in a small farm house and being required to work (at least before having her kids). She is constantly griping about wanting new things or how the lot is undecorated.

💀— Favorite death?

My favorite death was Eddy's, While I loved Helena and it was unexpected it felt like a normal sim death while Eddy's felt more tender since he got to have one last conversation with his daughter while also being ready to be re-united with his wife. Gameplay wise with the founders gone it meant I could finally move onto the next part of my story which I was really looking forward to, I stayed in Henford from 1890 - 1908....that's a long time to play on the same lot. The change of scenery was needed!

Ale admires Poppy's boldness, cleverness, and great tits. He also enjoys it when he can make her blush since she's usually unfazed. Poppy admires Ale's perfectly kind heart, the way he gets carried away when he talks about something that interests him, his cooking, and his uh, eggplant parmesan.

💋 What is their favorite place to kiss their partner? Do either enjoy 'leaving a mark'?

I can neither confirm nor deny that Alejandro lives with permanent hickies in my main legacy save now.

In terms of kisses, I think Poppy likes being kissed like they do in old movies, grand sweeping and confident. Ale likes being kissed with a wild desperation and no prior forethought.

Can I just say I love that you included the little sock emoji in this game? It's such a cozy emoji to me but seldom do I get the chance to use it.

❄️: What is the most intricate or detailed thing you ever had to do for your story?

Oof, so far, probably setting up this scene here. It's part of the beach in Brindleton near the large 64 x 64 lot so every single thing you see had to be moved using T.O.O.L which in itself has been an intricate thing to learn. Thistle & Honey had to be posed carefully as well because there actually aren't that many poses for cats (at least that I've found).

This shot in particular was a huge pain in my butt trying to get both cats to be posed in Winifred's lap in a way that seemed believable for their skeletons.

🧤: If you could magically touch any of your OC’s to bring them to life who would that be?

Winifred by far. I've said it so many times but she is my favorite Sim ever. I'd love to just chat with her because she has so many qualities that even as her creator still surprise me. I'd also like to give honorable mention to Jackson because even though he's a side character, his sense of 'old man' humor makes me laugh.

🧦: Character you’d most (or least) like to swap places with?

Most would probably be Lawrence. He's so confident and calm. He really strikes me as someone who makes the best of any circumstance which is a trait that I do not possess.

Least would be a tie between Valerie & Alice (Winifred's Mum). Valerie copes with her lonliness with alcohol and will never get over her fear of depending on another person and Alice has had to make sacrifices for her daughter that no mother ever should. My heart hurts for both of them.

8. How do you build/design your sims’ homes?

By taking as many shortcuts as possible! I don't enjoy building enough to put in the effort to get good, so I always use another talented person's build. Depending on how quickly I want to get to playing, I'll either leave the interior as is or spend like a week completely renovating it to perfectly fit my Sim's style. There's not much in between, lol. If a complete renovation is too overwhelming, I also might do individual rooms as I need them for pictures and avoid showing the rest. 😆

14. Why did you decide to start a Simblr?

Well, I'm one of those elderly folks who's been playing Sims long enough to have Livejournals devoted to my legacies, but I'm also intensely introverted and was always too caught up in what other people might think to even try joining the community for real. But when I got into doing more plotty storytelling, I realized how unsatisfying it was to tell stories to an audience of zero. So I finally joined Simblr around February, I think, and it's been such a great experience but also a bit detrimental to my other interests, not gonna lie!
