my absolute favorite depictions of regulus ever is all the art of him by casperr.vi on instagram, just in love and it’s exactly how i picture him (to be absolutely clear i did not make this art the talented @ casperr.vi on instagram did :D)

I just finished Art Heist, Baby! By @otrtbs Like three hours ago and oh. OH. Listen I went into that book knowing exactly what was going to happen because TikToks a bitch and spoiled me. So I’d been avoiding it for MONTHS.

However: AND🚨SPOILERS BELOW!!🚨

Having read the ending now, I’m kind of mad i put it off for so long!!! Was it sad?? Yes. Did I cry? Also yes. BUT.

I am a HUUUGE sucker for beautiful endings. Not happy endings, those are different. Beautiful endings are endings that can be described as bittersweet, where they’re neither happy nor sad but just LOVELY. This was one of those endings. Regulus dying, and then James going on to live without him, in their house with their paintings and their green and red shutters? That would’ve been a fine ending. But NO. This author had to go the extra mile and give us that heartbreakingly gorgeous epilogue!!

Anybody who knows me knows I am a MASSIVE sucker for “in every life/universe” trope. And Art Heist Baby pulled this?? So beautifully?? Oh, just Reg telling James he couldn’t find a single lifetime where they weren’t together, and then showing him what his favorite was? And them just being together again? Heading off to another life where they’ll meet again? Oh my little heart still can’t take it I think that might’ve been one of my absolute favorite endings ever, I’m tearing up even now just thinking about it.

@otrtbs you are such a talented writer and I admit I was dubious when I saw the MCD tag but OH. AHB is so very much one of my favorite fics now, it just pulled all my heartstrings in the best possible way.
