My name is Sasha. I am a cosmic/astro/lunar witch. This means: I do a lot of rituals around the moon cycles, I tend to also do intention setting based on lunar phases, and live my life by astrological and cosmic patterns and magic.

I am also an astrologer (I’ve been practicing and studying for over 6 years). I’m a Sagittarius sun, Sagittarius moon, and Cancer ascendant in Tropical Astrology. {Scorpio Sun, Sagittarius Moon, and Gemini Ascendant in Western Sidereal.} I study all types of astrology but I’m most well versed in Western Tropical and am studying Traditional Hellenistic Tropical Astrology to blend the aspects of both together.

I also do tarot, oracle, & dabble with other forms of divination. Plus, I believe myself to be claircognizant and use this to help aide in my witchery.

I consider myself an Agnostic Pagan and Witchy. I am also and animist. I identified as a Hellenic Polytheist for a while but have recently decided to explore my ancestry and it’s relation to other spiritual paths (absolutely not in a folkish or racist way btw!) I am adopted and it’s always been really hard for me, not being able to explore my ancestry and do ancestor work within my spiritual practice.

I am possibly a mix of Anglo-Saxon, Devon, & Cornish descent. My adopted family is of Scottish, Welsh, & French descent. I’m still putting together my biological family tree. This very hard for me to do as I don’t have a lot of access to info being an adoptee. (I am not claiming I have certain rights to cultures because of this, I am just trying to learn about my ancestors and their spiritual practices to find answers about my own inherent beliefs about spirituality that I was born with.)

I have always had a love for religious and philosophical studies. I had very profound spiritual experiences at a very young age (for example: I knew I was reincarnated without even really knowing what death was or about spirituality). Most people in these spaces have a similar story to starting off Christian and not being satisfied (or being traumatized) by their church. I grew up Baptist and when I could explore other options after I left home I did.

I currently research: Christian Sects (especially Catholicism and Greek Orthodoxy, but also really enjoy niche fringe sects and “folk Catholicism” or “Christian Witchcraft”), Pagan and Polytheistic religions (Hellenic Polytheism, Proto Indo-European Polytheism, Anglo-Saxon Heathenry, Norse Heathenry, & Celtic Polytheism or more specifically Cornish/Devon/Welsh Druidism), Hinduism, Buddhism, Atheism, and honestly I could add more to list but I don’t want to ramble on. This does not mean I am an eclectic witch or that I mix pantheons or practices, I just enjoy reading/studying all types of world religions and I’m still searching for the right practice for me.

I'm still figuring out my beliefs but I consider myself an agnostic pagan witch. I don't know if I believe in the supernatural or deities as literal entities or not. I lean towards yes, at least to some extent, but due to how my brain works I'm just never going to be 100% unless I get some sort of evidence in the affirmative (I don't think there's really a way to definitively prove they don't exist). This really got in the way of my practice for many years because I was constantly second guessing. In a lot of magical systems belief is step one and any doubt will keep it from working.

However, a few months ago I found Sedna Woo's channel on Youtube and she introduced me to a new way of thinking of it. My current philosophy is that it doesn't matter if my witchcraft is a placebo or if there is at least a partial supernatural explanation, if it works it works. It doesn't matter if deities are literal individual entities (the explanation I would like to be true), facets of a whole, or figments of my imagination if I derive comfort from worshiping them. Could change if I ever receive unmistakable signs or communication, but I am trying to accept that in all likelihood that will not be something I ever experience.

Traveling to new places and meeting new people with new perspectives

Sharing your life experience and being able to relate to someone across the world because we aren't all that different after all

Learning something new and considering the world from a perspective you have never seen before

Finding a cool looking rock that isn't particularly special like no one would sell this in a shop but it's pretty neat in your eyes so it's coming home with you

Finding a stick on the ground and waving it around for fun like a Harry Potter character

That crunch of an autumn leaf

Lighting a candle on a cold day, basking in the warmth, light, and smell

Glow-in-the-dark stars

Just stars in general like they are so pretty to look up at and the moon is just gorgeous

Days that you get to sleep in without worrying about an alarm

Trying a new food you thought you would hate but it ends up being really good

I co-run a discord server called For God's Sake (pun absolutely intended). In relation to it's name, this server is for all people and religions/spiritualities and welcomes both casual conversations and light debate.

We use a mixture of forums/threads, text chats, and voice chats as well as a multitude of roles to choose from (and custom roles if none of them fit you).

Most importantly, we are an LGBTQAI+, plural systems, and alterhuman friendly space, with plenty of room for everyone of all ages (within Discord Terms of Service).

I'd like to try to start going to my brother's grave. Since my father moved there isn't anyone going and taking care of it. I haven't been able to stand going (its been 10ish years) due to insane trauma but I'm in a better place (hopefully).

What sort of things should I bring? I'm not sure the rules of graveyards. How should I take care of the site? Is there any craftwork I could do before, during or after? I'm nervous honestly.

reading the oddessy in english, which is rlly cool as a hellenic pagan... but whenever i see stuff ancient greek related im just sorta reminded that people tend to just go "oh, greek gods are fake stories lol" instead of respecting it as an actual religion. hellenism is older than jesus himself, and still id never flat out claim their god isnt real. please, for the love of all the gods, including yahweh, just respect us.
