We saw the beginning, now I be thinking about all the possible...uhh the word is like aftermath...epilogues? Seeing as the narrative will be left open ended, we can hypothesize and fantasize just about anything!
This one is Harvey carrying on with what he idealized as a normal life, getting married, having kids, going out with the boys, stuff you see on TV. But Cammy is still there, still a part of his life. And that's pretty neat. And also I cry.
#i went on a spree yesterday with a bunch of aftermathematics that made me cry myself to sleep#because no matter what. every single end. cammy will outlive harvey. every thing in between can be different#cammy leaving. cammy staying. reluctance. romance. etc etc. cammy will live on without harvey. and it will hurt them. a lot.#it hurts me a lot. im still crying over 'thank you for keeping me in your life'#cammy could be living in the garden until the very end. either of harveys life. or the tree they took care ofs life.#maybe cammy leaves but visits from time to time. or maybe they visit right before harvey kicks the bucket#who knows! thinking about anything past the narrative makes me cry#because we dont see that in media. we always get the good ending but that is never the end. what happens afterwards?#cause grow as we go's narrative ends after harvey finally reunites with his family in the philippines and decides#i want to stay at my house and take care of my garden. ill be sure to visit every year from now on.#and the credits would roll as him and cammy travel back. on the plane. the taxi ride. harvey getting the key in the door.#harvey putting cammy in the little makeshift bed he made. and him looking out the window of his room down at the garden. him smiling#and then it says end. thank you for watching. this took fourty two years to make oopsie whoops#god i go on long rants when its late. anywho compare to last time i made a possible ending#cammy reluctantly leaving as they both start to fall in love with each other#cammy willingly running away knowing harvey will heal from this and move on and be normal#this one here theres no leaving. there is no normal. its just living dude#grow as we go#sketches#harvey#camellia

Star Wars "Prop" found after 46 Years
You may remember the "Krayt Dragon" seen in the original Star Wars film when C3P0 and R2D2 arrive on the planet Tatooine:
The scene, filmed in 1976, reportedly involved actor Anthony Daniels in costume as C3P0, and a large prop skeleton made of foam. The fake skeleton was left in the desert after filming. But last year, an odd fact came to light: The scene listed in Lucasfilm's records was NOT the one seen in the final film.
According to Lucas sibling and then-assistant-director Billy Bob Lucas Jr., the prop shipped to Tunisia for filming and later rediscovered by famed film archaeologist D.W. Reynolds in the 1990s was deemed "too small" to be compelling, and filming was delayed. Indeed, records newly unloaded at Disney's "Michael Eisner Memorial Cinematic Preservation Site" (a small incinerator in their basement) list the actual filming location as 20 miles south of where the original shoot was to have been filmed.
A small group of traveling Star Wars fans known as "Trekkies" headed to the site shortly after and found what they believed to be the actual remains of the Krayt Dragon prop that was used for the final film:
The story took a strange turn however when they dug up the prop and noticed that the vertebrae were not made of foam:
Indeed, the entire 50ft long skeleton was not a prop, but the image seen in the original movie was, in fact, a genuine colossal skeleton. Lucasfilm prop master Roger Pagan was asked for comment and took a break from filming on "Battlefield Earth 2: The AfterMathematics" to answer. According to Pagan, "Yeah the prop was too small so we headed into the desert where some locals said there was already a big skeleton. We found it, figured it was a whale, shot the scene and headed out."
Analysis however found that the vertebra was not from a whale, but rather a reptile. Nor was it a fossil, but seems to have only died in the late 1800s, suggesting that indeed, a species of undiscovered 50ft reptiles is currently dwelling in the Tunisian desert.
Asked for comment, George Lucas himself explained, "That's nothing, that trash compactor creature was just caught from an LA sewer and we set it free there when we were done filming. Ever feel something weird on your butt on the toilet? That's our Dylan."

New Discordian Cabal
I’ve started a Discord server called The Aftermathematics Research Cabal. We are currently figuring how how to prepare for Aftermath, write a new Discordian text, and also, just hanging out with each other, sometimes playing some games. We’re also doing a weekly (optional) book club where we explore some of Gurdjieff’s ideas and figure out how to bring them into the house of Eris.
If you’d like an invite to the server, shoot me a PM.

AFTERMATHEMATICS: WWE Elimination Chamber 2014
"WWE has six weeks to make things right."
I'm an optimist, so that was my first thought as the 2014 edition of WWE Elimination Chamber faded to black tonight.
The rest of the internet is likely exploding with doom, gloom and vitriol right now. (Trust me. I used to write for one of the biggest purveyors of such negativity.) To be fair, they can't be blamed too much. This marks the sixth month that Daniel Bryan's rightful spot as the World Heavyweight Champion has been pulled out from under him. I was once compared to a battered spouse for my tendency to keep a positive outlook in the face of such odds; and while I find that comparison to be hyperbolic and arguably pretty offensive, I can understand the mindset of those who shed metaphorical (and possibly real, in some extreme cases) tears tonight.
As it stands right now, our WWE World Heavyweight Championship main event for Wrestlemania XXX is a match no one wants to see: Randy Orton vs. Batista. The silence of the Minnesota crowd at the conclusion (along with the faces to which the camera panned) spoke louder than even a victorious chant of "YES! YES! YES!" ever could.
Now, I've watched this show for almost sixteen years. I've seen the higher-ups, the writers, the McMahons--whatever you want to call them--reach daring heights of obliviousness before...but after everything that's happened, I still can't muster that much rage.
For one (as I've said many times before), this is just a TV show; a fictional performance carried out by what amounts to a traveling theatre troupe. While the outcomes may not always be to our liking, I sincerely doubt Vince McMahon has it out for his audience...and those who do, seek help. Immediately.
More importantly however, there was another thought...multiple thoughts, really...that flooded my mind at the end of tonight's show; thoughts of all the ways things can still turn out alright.
For instance, let it be noted that the commentary team did not ignore the silence in the arena. They didn't delude themselves that anyone was happy with the outcome. Most strikingly of all, they didn't shy away from noting that the--as of this moment--intended babyface challenger Batista was roundly booed throughout his match with Alberto Del Rio earlier in the night.
As of this moment, we've got two heels battling for the top prize at Mania...and I just can't believe that the people in charge don't know that by now.
So, the big question here: what happens next?
Let me paint a few scenarios for you.
Daniel Bryan makes his rage at Kane's interference known on tomorrow's Raw. A lot of people believe this will lead to Bryan vs. Kane in New Orleans...but what about this?--The Authority, who have noticeably softened on Daniel (or at the very least grown more indifferent) of late and been visibly none-too-pleased with the rogue actions of their Director of Operations Kane, give Daniel a means to rectify both of his problems: a match vs. Kane--perhaps on tomorrow's Raw itself--in which if Daniel wins, he is added to the WWE Title bout at Mania, making it a Triple Threat.
Daniel does unfortunately get saddled with a grudge match with Kane at Mania...but let me refer you to my previous idea of a full-circle, one-year redemption story ending at SummerSlam. Yes, it would be an arduous four months to wait; but be honest. Are people going to just stop cheering for Daniel?--Of course not. He'll be as beloved in August as he is right now. Honestly, that's the one thing I've never understood about the pessimists. They act like they have to stop cheering for Daniel if things go wrong; when they should do the exact opposite, and I sincerely hope they do. WWE can't ignore them forever (and I don't think they are right now, to tell the truth).
I suppose this one is the "worst case scenario" (although, it still leaves the door open for the SummerSlam idea). So. What if it is just Daniel vs. Kane?--Notice that it's also JUST Cena vs. Bray (presumably). The WWE World Heavyweight Championship doesn't have to be the top storyline. Remember that you as a viewer are a person with free will. You get to place importance on the things YOU deem worthy. So you (rightfully) don't care about Orton/Batista?--Fine then. DON'T. Focus your excitement on the fact that Daniel Bryan is even IN this year's Wrestlemania. He's not in an 18-second match or the online pre-show. He's in THE show. Remember that, and cheer loudly and proudly for him. He's still great. We still love him; and hey!--While it may not be the most exciting storyline in the world, it's still kind of cool to see the members of maybe the most beloved tag team of the last decade (Team Hell No) duking it out. Most importantly of all though, remember this: this show never ends. Things are always changing. Stories are always developing. New characters are always in the wings. While this may not be what any of us want, there are still plenty of things to love. We just have to be patient, keep our chins up and--at the risk of quoting a certain t-shirt slogan--never give up.
So, yeah. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
Meanwhile, there were other matches.
The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family was the Match of the Year candidate we all knew it would be. Both sides came out looking strong, and the stars of Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and--yes, it's true--Seth Rollins rose higher than ever. If there's one thing in WWE to give us all hope, it's these four men (and I guess Rowan and Harper are okay, too).
The New Age Outlaws are still our WWE Tag Team Champions for whatever reason, but I don't think their challengers The Usos are out of the picture just yet. I think we've got a real barnburner of a tag match waiting for us at Mania; possibly including The Rhodes Brothers, as well. Hell, maybe it's time for another Tag Team Turmoil. Rybaxel looked undeniably impressive in tonight's pre-show outing. Lots of possibilities there.
My spirit animal AJ Lee defended her record-breaking Divas Championship reign against...Cameron. So, that happened. Interesting to note however, the role of Tamina Snuka in the final moments of the match. I've seen an accidental boot to the face start many a breakup/rivalry in this business. Maybe it's the start of the long-awaited Tamina vs. AJ feud we've been dreaming of for so long. (Shame about Naomi's injury, though. That would have been a great bout for Mania, too.)
Batista vs. Del Rio was a thing; and it pretty much followed my prediction/hope to the letter.
Titus O'Neil vs. Darren Young was...okay. I must reiterate that the awkward timing of their split and this match just didn't add up to much. They're both very talented individuals, but it was just kind of...there.
Lastly (because the kickoff was what it was--which was actually a great match, but still...), Big E (nee Langston) retained his Intercontinental Championship against Jack Swagger. It was a solid outing for both men, but the IC belt is still kind of nebulous; certainly not as much as the U.S. belt...but yeah. Nebulous.
So. Tomorrow is another day. Tomorrow is the beginning of the WWE Network (and hopefully brings with it a new full-time logo and graphics for all WWE programming). Tomorrow is Raw, with the return of Hulk Hogan (which I'm kind of "eh" about)...but again, the most important thing...
TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY.
Feel free to hit up the "Ask Jeff" link at the top of the page, and be sure to follow me on Twitter (@biscuitman18). I may be live-tweeting again in the near future (and I'm generally a pretty delightful guy).
Until next time, I'm Jeff Heatherly reminding you to just chill 'til...
Later, dear readers!

Opposition Rising- Aftermathematics CD/LP review
Opposition Rising- Aftermathematics CD review
Intro, added retroactively: Since my earlier punk days, I’ve been a fan of Toxic Narcotic; with songs like “Asshole”, “Fuck You”, “5 Billion People Must Die”, and their swansong “Shoot People Not Dope”, my craving for pessimistic emotional output was (and still is) easily fulfilled. I never drew the connection between Toxic Narcotic and singer Bill’s later band, Mouth Sewn Shut, until after I saw the latter band play in Toledo and researched them in the days following. Becoming a large fan of Mouth Sewn Shut as well, I began exchanging words with Bill Toxic and also swapped a few records, bands, shirts, and information (records mostly being MSS’ CD “2009” that I mostly gave away as promo). After some time of not hearing about Mouth Sewn Shut, I heard back from Bill about his new project, Opposition Rising, which was similar in sound and imagery, but different nonetheless. I was addicted to this sound, and I was thrilled when I happened across the band’s site one day, discovering six (and later ten) new songs for download for free. After jumping for joy like a cheerleader on cocaine and coffee, I sat down for a listen, eager in anticipation and high in expectations…
This record picked up right where Mouth Sewn Shut left off; still sporting the crusty reggae/ ska feel with all the fury of a hardcore punk record, these are ten punishing tracks that show the 99% can hate and groove. The record begins with the intro song “Rising”, an allusion to the beginning of a war, perceived or actual. It allows a nice transition into the real bones of the record, the “chapters”, one might say. Some of the better songs on this record are some of my personal favorite songs in general.
“F.T.W.” has been making its rounds on compilation albums, namely the 4-way split 7” with In Defence, Hellmouth, and Embrace the Kill, the Crash Assailant compilation CD, and the Riotska digital compilation, deservedly so- it is the new anthem of the nihilist of today. “Pink Slip Murder Suicide” is the new “going postal” theme song (on an unrelated note, the massacre that made the term ‘going postal’ famous took place in Royal Oak, at the same place I get my mail from), and its pulsating rhythmic beat thumps like a gun going off, raising hate in the brain and blood pressure in the veins. “Tell Them Nothing” is the radio-friendly, all-encompassing version of “Stop Snitchin”, and one that resonates a lot more deeply with the majority. It serves as a reminder that speaking to the so-called authorities is not in one’s best interests, under any circumstances. For a positive lyrical turn, “Brick By Brick” speaks about those who might try to destroy the community we (as punks) have all worked to build by copping out or conforming, as the song terms. However, it is also possible to look at the song title in a reverse way, as rebuilding this community we have built, brick by brick. Even in nihilism, there is hopefulness. “Debt Sentence” is about the new phenomenon of people being economically enslaved by the money they owe to lenders. With the relatively recent crisis in the housing market and in the lax oversight on lending, people have suddenly become anchored down and enslaved by their debts. “Destination Apocalypse” is the final “chapter” of the album/ story, and its conclusion is a world in ruin, all the money rendered useless and the obsession with belongings, monetary or tactile things, rendering the 1% (my words, not theirs) pragmatically impotent.
Though these are not the only songs on the record, these are the best and most worthy of discussion; the other songs are also stellar, so this indeed is a complete work. Bill Damon (lead singer) is a crust punk genius, an inventive S.O.B. with a ton of passion. Anyone who liked Mouth Sewn Shut and/or Toxic Narcotic will love this, and it will resonate well with the rest of the crusties, punks, and rudeboys too. Buy this, now!

Aftermath
Cramulus, of the Aftermathematics Research Cabal, answers the question “What is Aftermath?”
Aftermath is the outcome of dialectical force. Something is presented, something counters it, they wrestle, in the end something stronger comes out. That's Aftermath.
Right now we're living in a Bureaucracy period. The systems that were built long ago are reaching their limits. When the limit is surpassed, things can't go back to the way they were. Something different will follow, but it's up to us right now what that thing is.
And I mean this on two levels: both at the cultural/societal level, and on a personal level.
On the Discordian blog Chaos Marxism, Dolores suggested that we need to approach both of those levels with the same energy. That is, we need to make changes in our personal lives which are also the kinds of changes that need to happen in the big picture. The more that people do this, the more the right kind of cloud will come out the other side.
This is similar to a line in the Black Iron Prison pamphlet (a discordian production from somewhere around 2006) -- you can't change the world. But you can build a little island in the madness. When people land on that island, they'll want their own. And so we keep making our islands bigger and bigger until they touch. That's how to change the world as a small individual.
Making big changes isn't possible as an individual - because we're at the wrong scale. Just like an individual cell in our body can't change our diet or attitude. It takes an organ to do that. So as cells, we need to participate in the organs which lead to self consciousness.
I'm a member of the Gurdjieff work, an mystical tradition from the early/mid 20th century... in that work, we talk a lot about Self Remembering, building up a form of individual presence and consciousness, a personal awakening which can shatter the trance of mechanical autopilot. There's a hope that through conscious labor and intentional suffering, you can develop something solid which cannot be destroyed or controlled (but can be forgotten).
But this kind of awakening isn't for everybody - unlike Leary, I don't think you can wake everybody up. Most people want to stay asleep, and that's fine! Leave em alone. They will go where they are led, that's like a force of nature. Water rolls downhill, and groups of people sleep. If we're lucky, we get a few moments of awakening before we fall asleep again. That's all you can really hope for, a moment where you get to sit up and make a choice. Then we get back on the merry go round.
And as a Discordian, I think one of the energies that's necessary for the right kind of Aftermath to emerge is LAUGHTER. Laughter is a powerful force which knocks down kings and smears grey faces with banana cream pie. And it can be transformative. A zap of real FUN puts the whole world in perspective. What am I doing with my life? What's actually important? What illusion was I just stuck in? We do our best work when we're relaxed, and when we're able to laugh at ourselves.
And isn’t it funny? The universe has set up the greatest slapstick bit of all time. It’s the banana peel you’re about to step on.

Escape from The Moon
by Cramulus, Aftermathematics Research Cabal
First, there was Nothing, then there was Everything. There was no point, then there was one point, then it exploded, and it became All & Everything from A to Z.
All & Everything’s first order of business was to create all the galaxies. Everything (disguised as the galaxies)’s job was to create all the solar systems. The solar system’s job was to create all the planets.
Our planet’s job was to create the moon. Everything’s goal was to create the moon.
(Did you know there are two moons? We can only see one of them)
Organic life grew on earth. After billions of years, it started to figure shit out. It went to the farms, it went to the cities, it turned to nations, it turned to religion, to corporation, fast food chains, team sports, late night infomercials, social media, the human abacus, the living calculator.
The fittest survived. So we ended up with humans. We ended up with governments. We ended up with feudalism and the calculations ran for thousands of years. Every life on the farm, every life in the castle, every life in the church, all part of this equation. The denominator grew and grew until it added up to guillotines. The moon ate it all, she’s growing, her gravity runs through our hair like fingers, first softly, then gripping, pulling, turning our heads.
The moon demands our attention. Tidal forces make us spend money and have kids and retire and die and become soil. Tidal forces make war and insanity, it’s like the weather, its like a cauldron. This is all nature needs from us. To help calculate. To be worms and then worm food, 1 and 0.
There is a parade of words, images, ideas, truths and lies. A war of Yes, No, and Reconciliation. What do you think of this? What do you think of that? Your energy goes out, it feeds the moon. It’s part of the calculation.
It’s growing. It’s going to become green one day. It’ll take many, many lifetimes to build it. Our life is the din of its construction, but you and I will never live there.
If you’re quiet, you can hear something other than the perpetual sucking lunar vacuum. Eris’s whisper is easy to confuse with the moon. She’s far out there, you know. Past pluto. Her arc only nears you every 500 years. If you want to hear her, you have to listen very attentively. You have to make yourself ready to hear her, because the tidal cacophony drowns her out.
She says that you don’t have to become food for the moon. You can use that energy for yourself.
Most people don’t get a choice.
