Rewatching some S6 and I cannot BELIEVE that TWO EPISODES AFTER POOF WAS BORN, Cosmo was already referring to Timmy as his big brother.

This is probably my favourite part from "Antigone" by Jean Anouilh and it makes me think of Maglor and Maedhros. The familial love, the devotion, the loyalty....it makes me emotional.

#maglor loved his big brother so much that he followed him to the very end even when he did not agree with him.#i can definitely see him going against any rules if it meant giving maehdros a proper burial #if there was a body to bury of course #maedhros might have been a rebel and a kinslayer but he was maglor's brother first and foremost #i think maglor would absolutely be the one to welcome his brother home after a long day's hunting #and “kneel down to unlace his boots” and “fetch him food and drink” and “see that his bed was ready for him”#especially after they settled in beleriand and even more so after maedhros was rescued from thangorodrim #maglor would make sure to take care of his brother as much as possible and make his life easier and take some of his burdens upon himself #anyway #my posts #antigone #maedhros #maglor #maedhros and maglor #sons of feanor #feanorians #silmarillion #brothers

Y'know, I didn't think about that, but yeah- a lot of characters look like their moms (Midoriya, Bakugo, Uraraka, Jiro, Koda, etc)

I actually think they might've been cousins. Subscribing to the idea of [most kids take after their mothers], maybe they're cousins through their mothers?

Having OFA for 18 years and dying at 40 means Shinomori received it when he was 22. Shinomori being 22 years old seems close to how old Bruce actually could've been when he was alive himself.

Shinomori being Bruce's nephew is a cute idea though. I still think they'd be close in age, but Hikage can call Bruce "Uncle" to mess with him

Hikage: Uncle-

Bruce: Please don't make me feel old.

An adult that's a few years younger than you, calling you uncle. So like. Bruce could've been the babysitter / older cousin / uncle to weirdo Shinomori and he's just so used to babysitting that it automatically translates over to patiently dealing with Kudo and being protective over him (+ anyone in his care)

(Bruce gave OFA away before he went to go fight, so he really was protecting what was put in his care [Yoichi + Kudo] so they didn't disappear with him. Even if it was just a responsibility and basically their last organ that happened to manifest consciousnesses)

Bruce has Kudo. Shinomori has Banjo. Both are shorter, more risk-taking people that lead the way, but need someone level-headed by their side because they might charge in otherwise.

If they're related, that means Bruce probably also ages well too. And it means Bruce also might have a baby face like Shinomori-

(They look alike. They're also very so cute)

K, so as much as the rest of season 1 and the entirety of season 2 would suck with Cisco being dead, now that this thought is in my head, I can't stop thinking about how wild that would be if they literally killed him off for just that period of time, with the intention of bringing him back via Flashpoint and keeping him on for the rest of the show, but making the audience think he was gone for good for a whole entire season. That would've been CRAZY, yo.

#The Flash #Cisco Ramon #Barry Allen #obviously the whole thing with Dante would have to go out the window #because we didn't meet Dante until after Barry time traveled the first time #so there's no significance in killing him off if he hasn't even shown up yet #and because the big thing that Flashpoint changed about Cisco's life is now in fact Cisco being alive #so now instead of Barry returning from Flashpoint and finding Cisco depressed because his brother is dead #he's returning from Flashpoint and finding......Cisco? Alive???#and Cisco's probably his usual bubbly self and like that's a good thing but also #Barry is freaking the fuck out because CISCO'S BEEN DEAD FOR OVER A YEAR AND NOW HE'S BACK LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED #and obviously has no idea he was murdered in another timeline and also!! neither does anyone else!!#Barry has gone overnight from being on a team full of other people grieving for Cisco #to being the ONLY person with memories of learning that he was dead and all the shock that came with that #and the funeral and the supporting each other and the trying to grow around grief #and now it's all just gone but he's still affected by that death even though it's been undone now and NO ONE understands what he's feeling #and of course he's probably also really worried about losing him again #and since Dante's death was one of his big motivations in canon for not altering the timeline again after Flashpoint #(because causing that and irreversibly hurting Cisco was the biggest and worst consequence of altering the timeline)#in THIS version it's kind of the opposite #in canon he vowed not to change the past again because he saw the harm it could do to people in the present #but this time it's because he accidentally made his life in the present better by bringing Cisco back #and now he's terrified that if he changes another detail from the past Cisco will go back to being dead #and he can't risk letting that happen #it was hard enough going through that the first time #and he's just been through having to let Thawne re-kill his mom which led to Zoom re-killing his dad #and maybe getting Cisco back is a fluke in the universe and it wasn't supposed to happen #but if life will let him have this one bit of relief by gosh he's not gonna do anything to mess it up #(then of course Cisco's gonna piece it all together eventually when his powers finally kick in and hooooo boy is THAT gonna be a ride)

prev post there are a couple of tommy/ada fics in the tag and i did try to read them with an open mind, but they genuinely didn't work for me & it's not the kind of read i have on their relationship. i think that sort of sacred innocent sibling bond, while with it's own degree of dysfunction, is important to them, it's unimaginable and heartbreaking to have it transgressed, even consensually or that the desire exists in either tommy or ada at all

(i didn't help that these stories came across to me as out of character as well, but i'm not sure i could be convinced with a "good" characterization, the thing itself prevents that)

#i feel like the appeal is because it's generic #older brother/little sister is the most common type (generally sister/brother of course). it doesn't apply in this case #the thing that makes arthur/tommy and polly/tommy work is very much informed by the simple fact that they are older than tommy #there's a formative shaping there that goes from polly & arthur to tommy #incest /#bored by kink for kink's sake yk #arthur is only three years older as an adult that wouldn't mean much #but a child that's a lot #and the way tommy brings up the story about arthur fighting off the cops with the boathook #i think there's a lot of longing there for arthur as the big brother #it's why i can't imagine them having anything going on throughout the show #it's pre-canon #and potentially anything after s6 if their relationship takes another turn #maybe something between s4 and s5 when they are more even and get along reasonably well

im thinking about trigun and suikoden 2 and damn... there are parallels in there

#brb replaying suikoden 2 so i can get screencaps #suikoden 2 #trigun #krispeaks #difference is suikoden 2 has 3 sibling while trigun only has 2 (alive ones)#and um if i talk about riou and jowy to vash and knives first. both of them were always together growing up #until they separate ways to pursue what they believe is the best for the world #they climbed their ways to becoming important people either willingly (jowy & knives) or not (vash & riou)#and of course the legendary rune the chosen ones etc #now nanami is the difficult part because she fits some characters at the same time #yes she's aggresive but she also has vash's reluctance to fight and his pacifism (mostly)#she's like the younger vash and they act (somewhat) more mature than their brothers but also easily swept away #by the nature of the world that required them to fight #BUT. she's also rem. she means something to both jowy and riou although she mostly stays by riou's side #ans she's the biggest influence riou has. he talks to her before making any big decisions and every single time nanami asks him to stop #because theyre kids. they should be able to live normally as children instead of leading an army #which just reminds me of shu what the heck was going on in his mind. these kids were like 16 #so before doing anything riou (and the player) must consider how nanami feels which is why we've got the alt ending of them running away #if you choose to keep fighting tho? nanami dies. something something 'if i killed this man she'll die'?#and even after that she still haunts the narrative. everyone is at loss and even jowy #jowy who was willing to become a villain fighting against siblings to create a better world (eden) for the three of them #ALSO JOWY AND KNIVES LITERALLY HAVE BLADES/KNIVES AS THEIR POWER LOL #vash & riou has healing powers which could burst an attack but they use their physical weapons mostly (ignoring the player attached runes)#also about merilly & ww. they can come together as rina ellie and bolgan #wolfwood offers fortune reading and he still has his cross #meryl is ellie. both of them have too much weapons #millie is bolgan she's just having fun :^)#idk if theyre travelling together but these trio were prob the closest to riou and nanami as cameos in a lot of main quests #also i probably should say ftr i like riou/jowy as a ship but i mostly see their relationship as brotherly #which is to say no k/v here. begone
