AFK JOURNEY - NEW FACTION (DIMENSIONAL FACTION)

I can't believe it-- the Devs suddenly dropped this picture today.

I've draft this post (about Dimensional Faction) before this information drop, ended up editing it-- I can't believe it's so soon

Lemme explain a little bit of Dimensional Faction (Based on AFK Arena, since this Faction also existed in that game):

- Dimensional Faction = A "faction" specifically for crossover/collab heroes // heroes that appeared from OUTSIDE of Esperia (Time Traveller vibe)

- This faction has no weakness or advantage to the regular factions in Esperia.

- Example Dimensional heroes from AFK Arena:

* Merlin (This Merlin is from The Great Britain)

* King Arthur

* Ainz (From Anime Overlord)

* Ezio (From Assassin's Creed) 

- From the pictures above, those are some of the Dimensional Heroes available in AFK ARENA

- This "Dimensional Faction" will arrived in AFKJ in the near future (it's confirm today), when they dropped some "Dimensional heroes" in the future patch (around 1.3.4 ++)

Which "Dimensional heroes" did you wish to appear in AFKJ? 

I wish it's Frieren, because... imagine, having The Legendary Elf Mage named Frieren on your team along side The Legendary Mage, Magister Merlin from Esperia will be sooo cool !

- I hope the banner rates for the "Dimensional Heroes" is easy for F2P to obtain and ALSO... I hope we can obtain them with regular gems, NOT using some Crystals that needed to obtain by using IRL money...

ALSO, if the Devs is generous... When the banner of that "Dimensional Heroes" ends, I hope we can obtain it from the shop (Arena/Guild/Season Shop) or those Heroes are added to the standard banner OR BOTH ! XD

Update on my last post:

F.Y.I. Now, I do not play AFK Arena, but sometimes I do read the wiki for the lore. So take any references I make to AFK Arena with a grain of salt. If someone who does play AFK Arena finds any inaccuracies, please comment below. AFK Arena has a similar, but still different lore from AFK Journey. (Ex. Nara remembering Sonja or not)

Note: When I refer to Myrddin, just know that Myrddin is the Welsh version of the name Merlin, so you could say they all share the same name.

Similarities between AFK Journey Merlin and AFK Arena Merlin

Now that I review Merlin from AFK Arena's wiki I actually see that he could fit as one of the first, if not the first Merlin.

I can't find many direct similarities between AFK Arena Merlin and AFK Journey Merlin, but I do see (this is a stretch) that they appear to have similar personalities.

Merlin (the one we play as) in AFK Journey, based on the responses we can make, seems to have the personality of a wise yet somewhat humorous person. Sometimes straightforward and purely logical (Telling Berial eating hamster meat is unhealthy when he threatens to eat Chippy, saying they're the only one who can help with the corruption in the Dark Forest while overworking themselves, etc), or make jokes or jabs with light complaints (Just read their responses with the guy who is unable to pack his stuff lol, and their clear want for a vacation).

Merlin from AFK Arena also seems to be wise, yet witty. He is very logic focused and does what must be done. In the wiki, it states, "Uther was smitten, swept up by a spell Merlin cast upon him to sow the seeds of love. The fact that Uther felt compelled to have Igraine was a source of deep sorrow for Merlin. Yet, the prophet had already glimpsed fate: only the master of the sword in the stone could lead the divided people to peace, and that man was Uther Pendragon’s son." He ignores his own sorrows and the misfortune that will fall upon Igraine's family and does what fate demands by casting a spell on Uther so the child would be born. This also shows some self-sacrificing nature, like when Merlin from AFK Journey overworks themselves to help stop the corruption in the Dark Forest.

Now, I still firmly believe these two Merlins are not the same person, but I find it curious how they seem to relate.

Similarities between Myrddin the Welsh Legend and Merlin from AFK Arena's Story (They are Practically the Same)

Merlin from AFK Arena tutors Arthur Pendragon. In the wiki, it quotes, "When the destined King, Arthur Pendragon, was born unto the world, Merlin took him from his scheming father to protect and tutor Arthur until he finally succeeded the throne, uniting the divided country." Myrddin from the Arthurian legends acts as a mentor figure to Arthur, also raising him away from his parents. Further deepening the connection between Merlin and the Welsh Myth(s). Referencing to this quote again, "Uther was smitten, swept up by a spell Merlin cast upon him to sow the seeds of love. The fact that Uther felt compelled to have Igraine was a source of deep sorrow for Merlin. Myrddin also casts a spell on him in the myth. It is at this point I am realizing that these two are probably supposed to be the same. From the Duke of Cornwall, Igraine, Uther, and Merlin, the myth all seems to line up almost exactly like the Arthurian myth.

I would write more but I'm too tired right now because I spent too long trying to find connections only to realize they aren't just connected, but almost the same. However, there is something I've noticed about Vivienne, she not included in the Arthurian legend. She is implied to be the daughter of Igraine and her first son, the Duke of Cornwall, Gorlois. Though, in the myth, Igraine and Gorlois' children are Morgause/ Morgawse, Elaine and Morgan. Her name is eerily similar to the name Vivian, which is one of the names of the Lady of the Lake. I'll have to write more on that later.

AFK Arena Chaos Part III

As starstruck as she is to meet the *real* King Arthur (not one of many nutbars that claim to be him), there's a perfect opportunity to gauge the man's reaction to the least reverent movie on the subject.

Down in the main basement of the manor, the "screening room" (digital projectors, half a dozen couches, snacks, booze, "the red stuff", etc) is prepared.

Fortunately, Vedan Manor requires a weapons check. Lisette's marriage prospects take a bit of damage (Not that she cares. Girlfriend has her career, fostering cats, and scorching case of bisexuality to keep her warm) that proper society believes a lady of her "advanced" age (-le gasp!- 34) can ill afford. However, there are many phone cameras and a GoPro to record the results.

Arthur losing his damn mind goes viral throughout Esperia and a few other worlds. Lisette's father Alucard doesn't find the situation amusing and lets Vedan know he's an asshat.

"Well, *I* thought the movie was funny " Kelthur cracks

"It was absolutely worth it." Vedan may be a bit smaller, a bit greener, and distinctly froggy, but he was cracking ribs laughing well before Arthur got hold of Merlin's staff.
