Unexpected Bond

A little something inspired by a response from @magister-cyran .

Yolena absentmindedly played some notes on the piano. She had some free time, between lessons and duties, and she decided to remain seated at the instrument to allow her mind to go free and travel the world. She did not notice at first that someone had stopped by to observe and listen to her little melodies. When she finally noted his presence, she stopped for a moment.

"Magister Cyran! I didn't hear you."

He smiled gently, as he usually did. Yolena didn't know him any other way.

"I was enchanted by your tunes, your Highness. You have a remarkable talent for compositions."

She gleamed at him. "Thank you. Hey, come, sit down. You can play the piano, too, right? Let's go on a journey together."

She moved to the right side to make some space for the Court Mage. He hesitated for a moment, but then elegantly sat down next to her. As Yolena continued her little tune the mage tried to embellish it with some carefully chosen chords.

His attempts were not always successful but Yolena bravely kept playing for a little bit.  She did ponder for a split second how to tell her tutor that his playing didn't match the grace of his appearance, but then she got carried away but her youthful nature and just spoke freely.

"Well, it's okay I guess, but I think I expected more from such a distinguished old man as you..."

Cyran immediately stiffened his pose.

"Manners, your Highness. This is not how you should express your opinion, which should remain humble at all times." 

Oops. Maybe she should have not mentioned his age. But he himself has told her as much and given he was of noble birth... but maybe music wasn't his calling. Best to apologize. 

"Okay. I am sorry. I have an idea: let's practice more together. You came to listen to me, right? If you play as beautifully as you look maybe a lady just as nice will come and--"

"MANNERS." 

Yolena shrunk a little next to him. He could be so unforgiving. Behaviour was everything he thought about - other than her magical training, which was barely more than rudimentary. But he was also really kind and sometimes even more understanding than anyone else for her little troubles. She didn't think about her words at all, and she felt sorry for making him upset. She sighed and played a few single notes while speaking quietly.

"Aww. You know, I think you are a really cool teacher and an awesome mage. And you are so wise and gentle and handsome, too. But kinda alone. So sometimes I wish you could be a little less... strict. Then I think you could be really fun, too." 

Yolena kept pressing down on a few more keys, waiting for Cyran to react. After a moment, he hummed gently and bowed in his seated position.

"You have my sincerest thanks, your Highness."

Yolena sighed again. As formal as ever. But at least, he seemed to have accepted her apology. She took a deep breath. She was about to ask him for a second round but when she saw his broad smile, she hesitated enough for him to take the word.

"Well, your Highness, shall we... "rock the house" ?" 

Yolena snorted loudly. Then she burst out laughing. Where on earth did he pick that expression up? She could not believe her ears and being utterly unable to focus on the piano, she wiggled back and forth trying to not attract too much attention from staff with her unrestrained laughter. When she heard a hearty chuckle right next to her, her chest exploded with joy. What a wonderful sound and she wished with her all might to hear it more often. She knew she probably wasn't so lucky anytime soon, so when the Court Mage began to play his chords, she eagerly joined to add her melodies.

And so they sat for a while, sending their notes on journeys across countries and seas, into the mountains and the air, bridging all gaps. And for a moment, even that between the innocence of a delicate flower and the corruption of an old, black snake.

AFK JOURNEY - NATSU n LUCY FROM ANIME FAIRY TAIL (DIMENSIONAL HEROES)

Ladies n gentlemen... new update of dimensional faction just dropped (29th March 2025)

Natsu n Lucy from anime Fairy Tail are the first Dimensional Heroes that will arrive around the 1st of May 2025 !

I can't talk much about them-- whether they are a MUST pull or not because I don't know their "movesets n ult" yet...

Good luck to those who will pull for them !

AFK JOURNEY - NEW FACTION (DIMENSIONAL FACTION)

I can't believe it-- the Devs suddenly dropped this picture today.

I've draft this post (about Dimensional Faction) before this information drop, ended up editing it-- I can't believe it's so soon

Lemme explain a little bit of Dimensional Faction (Based on AFK Arena, since this Faction also existed in that game):

- Dimensional Faction = A "faction" specifically for crossover/collab heroes // heroes that appeared from OUTSIDE of Esperia (Time Traveller vibe)

- This faction has no weakness or advantage to the regular factions in Esperia.

- Example Dimensional heroes from AFK Arena:

* Merlin (This Merlin is from The Great Britain)

* King Arthur

* Ainz (From Anime Overlord)

* Ezio (From Assassin's Creed) 

- From the pictures above, those are some of the Dimensional Heroes available in AFK ARENA

- This "Dimensional Faction" will arrived in AFKJ in the near future (it's confirm today), when they dropped some "Dimensional heroes" in the future patch (around 1.3.4 ++)

Which "Dimensional heroes" did you wish to appear in AFKJ? 

I wish it's Frieren, because... imagine, having The Legendary Elf Mage named Frieren on your team along side The Legendary Mage, Magister Merlin from Esperia will be sooo cool !

- I hope the banner rates for the "Dimensional Heroes" is easy for F2P to obtain and ALSO... I hope we can obtain them with regular gems, NOT using some Crystals that needed to obtain by using IRL money...

ALSO, if the Devs is generous... When the banner of that "Dimensional Heroes" ends, I hope we can obtain it from the shop (Arena/Guild/Season Shop) or those Heroes are added to the standard banner OR BOTH ! XD

AFK JOURNEY - MERLIN'S AGE ? (MY THEORIES)

There's lots of theories revolved around Merlin's age. It's quite confusing, for me, up until now...

Here's some of my thoughts/theories, the age of Merlin (They/Them):

1) AGE - Around 2 Millenia (2000+):

-Dura's blessing: Merlin is Mortal, however, Merlin gained immortality from Dura's Blessing (Appearence stucked around 20-30ish age old) to accomplish Merlin's "destiny"

-Due to that "blessing", they hide their true appearance using disguise spell (have been mentioned by General Hogan in the main story that Merlin once appeared around him as a Wilder / a Mauler)

-I pointed out here that Merlin might be "ancient", since Calestials, Hypogeans AND even (SPOILER ALERT: Lord of Death), know Merlin

-PLUS, In this Artifact section shown below, you'll notice the description of the spell indicates the age of Merlin is leaning towards "Millenia"

-However, Merlin frequently lost their memories, as if to "reset" their mind in the "new era" they in...

2) AGE - around 30-40ish:

-Reincarnation: Yes, it's as if a loop... Died, Reborn, Repeat 

-Those who are chosen to be Merlin will attain the memories of lots of Merlins in the past, but still locked from a certain spell to prevent the "current" Merlin to feel burden (Avatar vibe, maybe??)

-They like to use disguise spell, to befit their taste of fashion

-However... In the very first cutscenes when Merlin heard Dura's call in their dream, due to how utterly burden and shock, Merlin memories "reset"

3) AGE - around 80-100ish:

-Normal approach: Just an ordinary Mage in the peace era

-In their youth, they gained the title of Merlin

-Studied n became a lecturer @ Serene Lyceum, 

-They like to use disguise spell, to hide their original appearence ( "I'm old already..." )

-Grey n Old, they retired, ended up living in Ryeham when Merlin felt their power is fading away

-Due to that, Merlin also lost their memories frequently

> Idk which is true... It's just my theory about Merlin's age. I lean more towards the first theory of mine, because that is the theory that I applied to My Merlin (I'll put up the post about My Merlin in the future, so stay tuned!)

Thank you everyone so much for following this story all the way through! I mentioned I knew how I wanted the story to end the moment I started and to see it finally completed feels so satisfying.

I will still be making more things involving this AU, so don't worry for those who have been wondering! I still have a mountain of messages to get through and other short ideas I never posted. So even though I will be moving onto my next projects, I still have more to play around with in this AU and it's characters ;D

Ingo has been speaking Ainu Itak for the last 15 or so years. He’ll need a moment to realise this isn’t Hokkaido anymore and the language that has always been coming natural to him is needed here.

I know this is japanese, not ainu itak but there isn’t really a good translator for ainu itak
