The Digital Village: Why a Strong Online Support System is Crucial for Success
In the age-old African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child,” lies a profound truth about human endeavors – we thrive on support and community. This wisdom holds true even in the digital realm, especially when venturing into the dynamic world of online business and learning new skills. Just as a village provides a support system in the real world, online communities offer invaluable…

Yk, I hate that adaptations keep making Peter a high schooler, and not just because it means he never evolves, but because the adaptations now also include wider Marvel, whitch usually (thanks to the MCU) is at the modern day stage with legacy characters and new age teen heroes, meaning that Peter is taking up Miles' spot and you can really tell when they put him next to someone like Kamala Khan or Sam Alexander who are Miles' pals. Tho Peter taking Miles' stuff is just a modern issue overall, just look at MCU whitch just stole and re-skinned Miles' personality, characters, story-beats, even the costume to an extent and then made it worse.
agree 👏
#sci speaks#sci. release the script doctor you did where it actually was miles in the mcu and peter parker is a grown ass man.#it was funny. peter was a really bad intern at stark industries#who stole stark tech on the sly.#and of course. tony catches wind of this because he has cameras everywhere and. those cameras happened to also catch.#him sneaking out of work as spider-man.#and tony ropes him into civil war or whatever because otherwise he could Literally press charges.#and peter's :((((((((#begrudgingly joins tony's side.#in the post credit we see that he's been gathering stark tech to build miles morales some very neato webshooters.#and voil.a. miles is the star of homecoming and. peter is the mentor figure that encourages miles to start small.#miles: but YOU teamed up with the avengers a#peter: do as i SAY not as i DO.#sighs. so little would have to change.#but no more child soldiers and no more over exposure of tony stark. fantastic. superb.#also showing a slightly sneakier peter parker who isn't exactly entirely morally upstanding.#steals from billionares while they're not looking to serve the people who need it.#robin hood figure !! sexy. would falll to my knees for a peter parker like that. would be my favourite on screen peter ever.#and it puts him more in an interesting spot with the villains in the movies too.#if we still go with the route of all the villains being affiliated with stark tech and stealing / using stark tech#then peter is like. in a more complex role in the story. he stole stark tech too. is he better than the criminals?#he uses it for good. he thinks. but that's his judgement.#just i think it would be neat. all the “you're just like me” rhetoric falls so flat in those movies.#but what if it hit different.#but that would be if marvel had the courage to make a complex spider-man movie#where peter parker is allowed to make morally complex decisions asides for “uhh. stupid kid makes stupid mistakes”#sci talks movies

Also for what it's worth I've never discouraged the creation of a farther left party in the US either. I believe I've even said in the past that the Green Party is a disaster and if you want to build an alternative party you have to do it from the ground up. I have no illusions about a farther left party gaining any kind of traction at the national level, but local politics is a lot more flexible.
The only viable role for a leftist party in the US right now is a local/state party in deep blue states that would have candidates run as Democrats if they ran for federal office. Democrats will have different opinions on that which is fine, personally I'm chill with that as long as they treat Democrats as respected coalition partners and aren't assholes about it. I think that's kind of what the DSA was supposed to be? It feels like every attempt at this dissolves into an internal mess because *jazz hands* the American left but it doesn't have to be that way.
I'm not going to personally put the effort in to do this, I'm fine voting for Democrats, but if I had a choice between a Democrat and some leftist party for a local office I'd consider both candidates. That's basically what I do now anyway except they're all officially Democrats and I do it in the primaries.

slightly on the topic of the last ask slightly/alot not but: in general how do you think sticky, and especially murky interact with dankovsky? like sticky seeing him as a doctor/role model in that way seems quite natural. how do you think sticky sees rubin? do they bond.. they have a lot of similarities in my mind: both under isidor but NOT the heir. obviously applies more to rubin as hes the same age as artemy but lieke.. yeah. also, sticky also has that My Only Interest Is Medicine/ very studious in a way that artemy is not implied to have been to the same extent [as rubin at least, or not at first at home] . okay this ask started off with me wanting to ask about murky and dankovsky and i got distracted.. anyway: thoughts on murky and daniil? do u like the common hc that they bond over beetles? does he see his younger self in her standoffish autistic swag. would she paint him in the family portrait. etc. sorry for the essay in yr askbox
sticky considers dankovsky a Medical Role Model in the way he only half does burakh, not as a values thing but as a percentage thing. burakh's practice hinges in both his Capital knowledge and the steppe ways of his father and his communities whereas dankovsky is pure unfiltered Capital (and westbound) knowledge. dankovsky brings last year's Medical Knowledge Treatise (not the current year's, people need those) to sticky who's obsessed with the slightly gross anatomical lithographs in it (i know this because i've written it). i think he doesn't like. think much. of rubin. beyond "under/after a burakh but not the heir", they have very little in common. rubin has a whole airport worth of baggage wrt heritage and heirness, it's particularly more visible in P2 since he and burakh have actually very few interactions in P1; whereas in p1 he was put forward to be formally adopted as a foster son, that is not a thing in p2, it's actually way funnier (as in painful and cruel), instead he says of isidor [to artemy] "your father", "your father", until he stops and says "father", "father", putting himself as a burakh heir. it's less about being on a same plane as artemy, a brother to him, it's about being him. when the game dev docs call him "artemy's doppeldanger", that's very much this. Anyways i don't think Sticky cares much about him. they have little in common, sticky doesn't have a tenth of the Heritage bagage Rubin has, and while rubin shoulders burakh in his practice and sticky can be #inspired, he neither has the novelty of dankovsky's Capital Endeavors nor the utmost respect sticky owes burakh for literally saving his life. he's also over 2m tall (6'9"), generally grumpy, and vaguely scary. and still sneers and barks at burakh even years after The Event because he still has the heritage en travers de la gorge + grieving and coping. bad.
as far as murky goes i don't think she cares much about dankovsky at first either. she can get sick in p1 bachelor route, but for the endeavor of us making a story with a certain linearity and mashing all of the routes into one, she does not, and only gets sick from the obligatory p2 All Children Sick event. same as sticky wrt rubin, she doesn't owe dankovsky her life (does not realize it. in the event of a linear story, dankovsky did very much help this guy greatly. tons, in fact. but it is not dankovsky who visited her when ill and promise to save her from the illness. these two, too, i don't think have much in common to start off. she is not stand-offish in the way that he is, i don't personally hc dankovsky as autistic so that would not be in my instance something that they find a mirror between each other over, his grief as an adult man over failure (or feeling of it) is completely unlike her own childhood grief of losing both parents and having the man who (she considers) is their murderer walk around the community, be relied upon and loved. grief rewires a person (real #grievingheads rise up) but it did not rewire them the same and they do not exteriorize it the same at all. she does come around to him, from 1) having seen him around already and he's not that bad 2) that's Old Man's Man and if old man Good and Loving then by extension... etc. she Does draw a family portrait i know it for a fact. she does it and never mentions anything of it. that's just her silent way of saying "you cool so we cool👍" i do fw the beetle bonding heavy though i do. i don't think dankovsky brings his collection to ToG (incl. because some of it is at his dad's) but during a visit to the town his Old Ways catch up to him and he gets enthusiastic bout some beetle crawling around and catches it. starts telling everyone about it. murky fw his collecting ways (she collects plant specimens [including hers] and rocks) so she trails him around and starts asking him about other bugs that are Not Beetles because she thinks it makes sense they be grouped together and he has to be like i'm so sorry i have no idea what this thing is. (eventually he gets himself an entomology book and they start bugwatching together. love prevails etc)
#i know a lot of people are really into the whole Very Tight-Knit Family Where The Next Generation Looks And Is A Lot Like The Other but#i think that them being obviously different is what brings flavor to this. like by all means it is really; really funny that sticky is#blonde blue eyes like burakh and murky is brunette brown eyes like dankovsky. like What Did They Mean By This.#but they are also all marred in grief and tragedy and unspeakable grief and have come together from harrowing circumstances#they're a ''found family'' of circumstances. in any other world they would not have come together.#and that's what makes it compelling. it's particularly true for burakhovsky to me; in any other circumstances they would not have started#seeing eye to eye to me. and that's what makes it TASTY.#they struggle to be a family because burakh jumped from the world of the ''grown-up kids'' to that of being an orphan who cares for 7 kids.#dankovsky jumped from a life of celibacy to save his own skin and knowing he might never have a family from the gay thing to 1 hubby 2 kids#murky lost both of her parents ''to'' Isidor and yet goes out of her way to involve herself in isidor's son's life for comfort life & love.#sticky went from a life of orphanism; theft and affiliation-less drifting between the bullshit gang war to son of burakh and big brother to#this standoffish girl who sometimes stop speaking. like. weird ass family. love prevails hashtag love prevails#allô (answers)#anonymous#burakh lore#dankovsky lore#burakh family#burakh family lore#sticky lore#murky lore#these long ass tags

My biggest hang up with other self-procclaimed leftists is that my politics is centered on meeting the needs of human beings, with an emphasis on the importance of human relationships both individually and collectively, and how to navigate that in an informed manner in a complex social environment, from a history of very deep and violent power imbalances.
Meanwhile, very many other people's politics are still anchored in what they think people should or should not be doing.

Permission to ask a stupid question but why the hell was Ragna going around and blowing up cauldrons in the first place because I don't get it?? Was he just trying to piss off the NOL? Trying to wrap my head around Blazblue lore makes my head hurt
oh as blazblue questions go this one's surprisingly straightforward and honestly not really stupid considering how blazblue just drops you into the world and explains Not Much. 2 reasons, 1) pissing off the NOL bc he dgaf about them, it's a big show of power cause he's kinda the only one that can do it (not really, by any means, but hes the only one they know of that Does and it makes him a huge threat bc actually for real killing and disabling one just makes a city fully uninhabitable until its fixed, as with akitsu-otsu and ko, the latter of which is the snow town stage. you can imagine why people dont live there anymore. iirc that's the only one ragna got away with destroying completely? relius exposits about this in chronophantasma for a second kinda unprovoked. as he does) and it both draws their attention and puts a huge target on his back, and is an extreme statement that he's not fucking around. second reason and honestly the major one aside is specifically because that's what they were using to make prime field saya clones after kidnapping her and it pissed him off. like genuinely that's all he needed. if he even knows about the time travel fuckery or black beast ramifications or the fact that for realsies killing one in a way levels a city its kinda irrelevant because hes hell bent on his saya revenge quest. pissing off the NOL probably wasnt even his original intent but it wasnt inconvenient enough for him to be deterred by it so he just leaned into it. in one of iirc ragna's endings in CT where he meets nu, i think the regular one not the true one? it's been a while. one or both of them mention him killing her before at least once probably multiple times. i dont remember if its hard confirmed but its definitely safe to assume she was the first and only saya clone he saw bc the times he killed her she was incomplete and he destroyed her before she was done cooking (smelting) and she couldnt fight back or speak but was conscious enough to be aware of it happening but unable to do anything about it and thats literally just why shes like that. in cs it can also be argued that its cause cauldrons consume tons of human souls to smelt a kusanagi, but like. for ragna thats kinda neither here nor there especially considering the souls used were just NOL soldiers in kagutsuchi at the time pretty much. and also everyone seemed to get over that one pretty quick fdjkhf
tldr, for ragna specifically, any plot contrivance and worldbuilding stuff doesnt matter, his only real goal he set out for to start with was find saya and then turned into making the NOL stop cloning his sister. afaik he didnt even know why they did it just got on his nerves. questionable prime field morality and ethics need not apply thats literally Just His Sisters Face

The Flexible Work Tango: Striking a Balance Between Freedom and Self-Care
Welcome to the world of flexible work, where the dance floor is your home office, the music is your schedule, and you’re the DJ! It’s a world where you can cha-cha around your family commitments, tango with your tasks, and occasionally, do the hustle with deadlines. But, as with any good dance, the key is in finding the right rhythm and not stepping on your own toes. The Flexibility Foxtrot The…

I love writing Found Family, and I'm ngl, it's kinda why I stopped posting a lot of DCA content.
I did that thing where I stared at the characters for too long and said, "y'know, that's good sibling/guardian material" and then obliterated myself.

Not to be all 2012 r/atheism but it is kinda frustrating how hard it is to get people to understand that I don't believe in ANYTHING spiritual or supernatural. Like I say I'm an atheist and people think that just means I think church is homophobic but also still totally believe in god and heaven and souls and w/e. (I actually would like to go to a UU church if I still had the ability to regularly wake up on a Sunday morning.) So then I try secular humanist, and they still don't get it. Like the more I try to explain in a way that might get through to people, the more I start sounding like the most annoying condescending things Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris have said.
I have dealt with multiple therapy groups that say they do "holistic" therapy and list stuff like art therapy and music therapy. But then it turns out they also do acupressure and ashwagandha and qi. This latest one was so annoying because I said I was a secular humanist, I don't believe in anything spiritual, I only believe in science, I specifically listed some of the alternative "medicine" stuff that's been pushed on me in the past that I don't want. And then the lady assured me that oh dw by holistic they just mean art therapy and music therapy. It was only after she told me they were affiliated with one of the worst, most toxic, most unscientific groups I've had the displeasure of dealing with, that I pushed for more clarity and she admitted that they would use reiki in meditation. (Meditation is evidence-based, reiki is not.) Like the fact that she didn't realize they could be done separately was just *sigh*
Like why not just be up front? Why not just say "we do holistic therapy, such as acupressure, reiki, and natural herbs"? Why pretend that all you got going is art and music and yoga? Are you trying to trick me into practicing your bullshit?
My religion is science. Please respect my religious beliefs and don't try to force yours on me.
